1Relocation of the mainshock and aftershock sequences of M_S7.0 Sichuan Lushan earthquake显示文摘The mainshock of April 20,2013 Sichuan Lushan MS7.0 earthquake was relocated using a 3-D velocity model.Double difference algorithm was applied to relocate aftershock sequences of Lushan earthquake.The locations of 2405 aftershocks were determined.The location errors in E-W,N-S and U-D direction were 0.30,0.29 and 0.59 km on average,respectively.The location of the mainshock is 102.983°E,30.291°N and the focal depth is 17.6 km.The relocation results show that the aftershocks spread approximately 35 km in length and 16 km in width.The dominant distribution of the focal depth ranges from 10 to 20 km.A few earthquakes occurred in the shallow crust.Focal depth profiles show fault planes dip to the northwest,manifested itself as a listric thrust fault.The dip angle is steep in the shallow crust and gentle in the deep crust.Although the epicenters of aftershocks distributed mainly along both sides of the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault,the seismogenic fault may be a blind thrust fault on the eastern side of the Shuangshi-Dachuan fault.Earthquake relocation results reveal that there is a southeastward tilt aftershock belt intersecting with the seismogenic fault with y-shape.We speculate it is a back thrust fault that often appears in a thrust fault system.Lushan earthquake triggered the seismic activity of the back thrust fault.FANG LiHua WU JianPing WANG WeiLai Lü ZuoYong WANG ChangZai YANG Ting CAI Yan 2013Chinese Science Bulletin2013,58,28:74

3Identification of fruit and branch in natural scenes for citrus harvesting robot using machine vision and support vector machine显示文摘With the decrease of agricultural labor and the increase of production cost,the researches on citrus harvesting robot(CHR)have received more and more attention in recent years.For the success of robotic harvesting and the safety of robot,the identification of mature citrus fruit and obstacle is the priority of robotic harvesting.In this work,a machine vision system,which consisted of a color CCD camera and a computer,was developed to achieve these tasks.Images of citrus trees were captured under sunny and cloudy conditions.Due to varying degrees of lightness and position randomness of fruits and branches,red,green,and blue values of objects in these images are changed dramatically.The traditional threshold segmentation is not efficient to solve these problems.Multi-class support vector machine(SVM),which succeeds by morphological operation,was used to simultaneously segment the fruits and branches in this study.The recognition rate of citrus fruit was 92.4%,and the branch of which diameter was more than 5 pixels,could be recognized.The results showed that the algorithm could be used to detect the fruits and branches for CHR.Lü Qiang Cai Jianrong Liu Bin Deng Lie Zhang Yajing 2014International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2014,7,2:17
4Recovery of valuable metals from a low-grade nickel ore using an ammonium sulfate roasting-leaching process显示文摘Metal leaching from a low-grade nickel ore was investigated using an ammonium sulfate roasting-water leaching process.The nickel ore was mixed with ammonium sulfate,followed by roasting and finally leaching with water.During the process the effects of the amount of ammonium sulfate,roasting temperature,and roasting time on the leaching recovery of metal elements were analyzed.The optimum technological parameters were determined as follows:ammonium sulfate/ore ratio,0.8 g/g;roasting temperature,400°C;and roasting time,2 h.Under the optimum condition the leaching recoveries of Ni,Cu,Fe,and Mg were 83.48%,76.24%,56.43%,and 62.15%,respectively.Furthermore,the dissolution kinetics of Ni and Mg from the nickel ore was studied.The apparent activation energies for the leaching reaction of Ni and Mg were 18.782 and 10.038 kJ·mol-1,which were consistent with the values of diffusion control reactions.Therefore,the results demonstrated that the leaching recoveries of Ni and Mg were controlled by diffusion.Xin-wei L iu Ya-li Feng Hao-ran L i Zhi-chao Yang Zhen-lei Cai 2012International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2012,19,5:14
5Monitoring Carbon Dioxide from Space:Retrieval Algorithm and Flux Inversion Based on GOSAT Data and Using CarbonTracker-China显示文摘Monitoring atmospheric carbon dioxide(CO_2) from space-borne state-of-the-art hyperspectral instruments can provide a high precision global dataset to improve carbon flux estimation and reduce the uncertainty of climate projection. Here, we introduce a carbon flux inversion system for estimating carbon flux with satellite measurements under the support of 'The Strategic Priority Research Program of the Chinese Academy of Sciences—Climate Change: Carbon Budget and Relevant Issues'. The carbon flux inversion system is composed of two separate parts: the Institute of Atmospheric Physics Carbon Dioxide Retrieval Algorithm for Satellite Remote Sensing(IAPCAS), and Carbon Tracker-China(CT-China), developed at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite(GOSAT) measurements are used in the carbon flux inversion experiment. To improve the quality of the IAPCAS-GOSAT retrieval, we have developed a post-screening and bias correction method, resulting in 25%–30% of the data remaining after quality control. Based on these data, the seasonal variation of XCO_2(column-averaged CO_2dry-air mole fraction) is studied, and a strong relation with vegetation cover and population is identified. Then, the IAPCAS-GOSAT XCO_2 product is used in carbon flux estimation by CT-China. 6Biological characterization of cultured dermal papilla cells and hair follicle regeneration in vitro and in vivo显示文摘Background Dermal papilla cells (DPC) are a group of mesenchyme-derived cells at the base of the hair follicle, where they regulate and control hair follicle growth through the expression and secretion of cytokines. Nevertheless, the role of DPC derived chemokines and other cytokines in the hair follicle biology remain speculative. In this study, we investigated the expression of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF), endothelin-1 (ET-1) and stem cell factor (SCF) in different passages of cultured DPC and their effects on the biological behaviour of DPC. Methods The expression of bFGF, ET-1 and SCF in different passages of cultured DPC and their possible effects on the biological behavior of DPC are investigated using in situ hybridization and immunochemistry. In addition, we performed transplantation of hair follicle cells into nude mice. The cultured DPC, dermal sheath cells and fibroblast of human scalp, respectively, were mixed with cells of the hair follicle epithelium in different ratios, and then were cultured in hair follicle organotypic cultures or implanted into the subcutis of nude mice. Results The expression of ET-1 and SCF in early passages of cultured DPC became stronger, but turned weaker and even negative in late passages (>6 passages). Hair follicle-like structures were formed after DPC combined with the cells of hair follicle epithelium cells in hair follicle organotypic cultures. When hair follicle organotypic cultures were implanted into the subcutis of nude mice, the relative intact hair follicles were formed. After the transplantation of hair follicle cells into the nude mice, the hair follicle-like structure was formed in the group that contained DPC mixed with hair follicle epithelium cells. However, no hair follicles were formed in the other two groups. It was found that the higher the expression of ET-1 and SCF in DPC, the stronger the ability of DPC to induce hair follicle regeneration. Conclusions The cultured DPC can induce hair follicle regeneration and sustain hair growth in vivo and in vitro. 9Effects of spectral sampling rate and range of CO_2 absorption bands on XCO_2 retrieval from TanSat hyperspectral spectrometer显示文摘The spectral sampling rate and range of CO2absorption bands are critical for the optimal design of hyperspectral instrument for CO2observation satellite.Undersampling of spectra in space-based spectrometer significantly contaminates signals measured in the CO21.61 lm-band.The CO2dry-air column(XCO2)error due to spectral undersampling can be up to*1 ppm,which is the target precision of the Chinese Carbon Satellite(TanSat)for a single sounding.Undersampling error depends on surface albedo,solar zenith angle,and scattering properties in the atmosphere.The spectral sampling rate is recommended to be greater than 2.0 pixels per full width at half maximum to avoid undersampling.Reduction of spectral resolution and the use of narrower spectral regions can improve spectral sampling with little changes in CO2retrieval sensitivity without losing much information.The full-band approach provides direct constraints on the wavelength-dependent surface albedo and particle scattering from the measurements.To keep a broader band,we recommend reduction of the spectral resolution by a factor of two.Yi Liu Zhaonan Cai Dongxu Yang Yuquan Zheng Minzheng Duan Daren L 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,14:5
10Hybrid uncertainties-based analysis and optimization design of powertrain mounting systems显示文摘In this study,a hybrid uncertainties-based analysis and optimization method is presented for the designs of the powertrain mounting system(PMS)involving mixed uncertainties.In the presented method,the PMS parameters with sufficient data are treated as random variables,while those with limited information are defined as interval variables.Then,an uncertainty-based analysis method called as hybrid interval-random perturbation-central difference method(HIRP-CDM),is proposed to compute the hybrid interval-random outputs of the inherent characteristics of the PMS in concerned directions.In addition,the hybrid interval-random-Monte Carlo method(HIR-MCM)is developed to verify the computational accuracy of HIRP-CDM.Next,an optimization model mixed uncertainties is built up for the PMS design based on HIRP-CDM,in which the hybrid intervalrandom outputs of the concerned inherent characteristics are adopted to construct the design objective and constrains.The complex optimization problem can be effectively settled by means of HIRP-CDM.The effectiveness of the presented method is verified by a numerical example.CAI BoHao SHANGGUAN Wen-Bin LÜHui BO Tao 2020Science China(Technological Sciences)2020,63,5:4

13Initial Rifting Process and Dynamics Mechanism of Huaguang Sag: Evidence from a Numerical Modeling Method显示文摘Huaguang Sag is located in the deep seawater area of Qiongdongnan Basin, and its tectonic position belongs to the intersection of NE-trending, SN-trending and NW-trending tectonic systems in the continental margin of the Northwest South China Sea. To investigate the initial rifting process and further more the dynamics mechanism of Huaguang Sag, this paper sets up the structure model of basement which mainly makes up with several depression-controlling faults, and simulates the initial rifting process of Huaguang Sag by the FLAC software. The simulation results show that only affected by the S-N trending extensional stress, the rifting center appears in northern boundary basement faults(two NEE-trending and NWW-trending faults) of Huaguang Sag while does not take place at the NNE-trending and NE-trending basement fault zone in the middle sag, and doesn't match the current pattern that the basement fault plays a main role in controlling the sediment. In the other case, affected by the S-N trending and E-W trending extensional stress at the same time, the areas of the northern boundary faults zone and internal NNE-trending basement faults zone come to be rifting center quickly, the sedimentary is controlled by the main basement faults to different degrees, and is consistent with the tectonic-sedimentary framework of Huaguang Sag which obtained by the data of geophysical interpretation. In combination with the analysis of regional tectonic background, the paper proposes that two remote tectonic effects occurred by the collision of India-Eurasian Plate: One remote effect was the rotational extrusion of Indo China Block, which led to form a series of NE-trending and NNE-trending basement faults, as well as the E-W trending tensile stress field in Huaguang Sag. The other remote effect was that the deep mantle material of South China Block flowed southward, which resulted in the S-N trending extensional rifting of the lithosphere in northern South China Sea, and finally formed a series of EW-trending and NEE-trending basement faults and the S-N trending tensile stress field in Huaguang Sag. 14TanSat Mission Achievements: from Scientific Driving to Preliminary Observations显示文摘The Chinese global carbon dioxide monitoring satellite(TanSat)was successfully launched in December 2016 and has completed its on-orbit tests and calibration.TanSat aims to measure the atmospheric Carbon Dioxide column-averaged dry air mole fractions(X_(CO_2))with a precision of 4 ppm at the regional scale,and further to derive the CO_2 global and regional fluxes.Progress toward these objectives is reviewed and the first scientific results from TanSat measurements are presented.During the design phase,Observation System Simulation Experiments(OSSE)on TanSat measurements performed prior to launch measurements using a nadir and a glint alternative mode when considering the balance of stable measurements and reduces the flux uncertainty(64%).The constellation measurements of two satellites indicate an extra 10%improvement in flux inversion if the satellite measurements have no bias and similar precision.The TanSat on-orbit test indicates that the instrument is stable and beginning to produce X_(CO_2)products.The preliminary TanSat measurements have been validated with Total Carbon Column Observing Network(TCCON)measurements and have inter-compared with OCO-2 measurements in an overlap measurement.LIU Yi WANG Jing YAO Lu CHEN Xi CAI Zhaonan YANG Dongxu YIN Zengshan GU Songyan TIAN Longfei LU Naimeng L Daren 2018空间科学学报2018,38,5:2

18Numerical simulation of the Kuroshio intrusion into the South China Sea by a passive tracer显示文摘Owing to lack of observational data and accurate definition,it is difficult to distinguish the Kuroshio intrusion water from the Pacific Ocean into the South China Sea(SCS).By using a passive tracer to identify the Kuroshio water based on an observation-validated three-dimensional numerical model MITgcm,the spatio-temporal variation of the Kuroshio intrusion water into the SCS has been investigated.Our result shows the Kuroshio intrusion is of distinct seasonal variation in both horizontal and vertical directions.In winter,the intruding Kuroshio water reaches the farthest,almost occupying the area from 18°N to 23°N and 114°E to 121°E,with a small branch flowing towards the Taiwan Strait.The intrusion region of the Kuroshio water decreases with depth gradually.However,in summer,the Kuroshio water is confined to the east of 118°E without any branch reaching the Taiwan Strait;meanwhile the intrusion region of the Kuroshio water increases from the surface to the depth about 205 m,then it decreases with depth.The estimated annual mean of Kuroshio Intrusion Transport(KIT) via the Luzon Strait is westward to the SCS in an amount of –3.86×106 m3/s,which is larger than the annual mean of Luzon Strait Transport(LST) of –3.15×106 m3/s.The KIT above 250 m accounts for 60%–80% of the LST throughout the entire water column.By analyzing interannual variation of the Kuroshio intrusion from the year 2003 to 2012,we find that the Kuroshio branch flowing into the Taiwan Strait is the weaker in winter of La Ni?a years than those in El Ni?o and normal years,which may be attributed to the wind stress curl off the southeast China then.Furthermore,the KIT correlates the Ni?o 3.4 index from 2003 to 2012 with a correlation coefficient of 0.41,which is lower than that of the LST with the Ni?o 3.4 index,i.e.,0.78.LIU Tongya XU Jiexin HE Yinghui LüHaibin YAO Yuan CAI Shuqun 2016Acta Oceanologica Sinica2016,35,9:2
