| 5 | Impact of land use change on soil resources in the peri-urban area of Suzhou city显示文摘The Yangtze delta area is among the fastest developing areas in China. Here there are mega-cities like Shanghai, Nanjing and the attached urban areas of different sizes including those along the lower reaches of the Yangtze River from Shanghai up to Nanjing as well as their satellite cities and towns, forming one of the most densely distributed urban areas in China. This is a case study done in Suzhou city at the center of the Yangtze delta to reflect the impact of urban sprawl on soil resources using satellite images and digital soil databases. The extent of the developed land in the studied area and the impact of development on soil resources at 1:100,000 scale are estimated and the soil types impacted most by urbanization development are determined through overlaying the soil map on the satellite images (Landsat-7) of the studied area at different times (1984, 1995, 2000 and 2003). | 6 | Pedodiversity analysis in Hainan Island显示文摘Diversity indices and abundance distribution models are statistical tools which ecologists have applied for decades for analyzing the intrinsic regularities of various ecological entities. In this work, we have applied these techniques to use the notions such as pedodiversity (as an example of geodiversity in a broad sense), in order to detect the differences and similarities between both natural resources, biological and non-biological. The discussion has mainly been conducted through the study of landform based pedodiversity analysis applied to SOTER digital databases in Hainan Island, China. | 7 | Microbiota transplantation reveals beneficial impact of berberine on hepatotoxicity by improving gut homeostasis显示文摘Berberine has been shown to reduce acute liver injury although the underlying mechanism is not fully understood. Because of the anatomic connection, the liver is constantly exposed to gut-derived bacterial products and metabolites. In this study, we showed that berberine has beneficial effects on both hepatotoxicity and intestinal damage in a rat model of chronic or acute liver injury. Microbiota transplantation from the rats with chronic hepatotoxicity could aggravate acute hepatotoxicity in mice treated with diethylnitrosamine(DEN). In rat models with gut homeostasis disruption induced by penicillin or dextran sulfate sodium(DSS), their fecal microbiota could also cause an enhanced hepatotoxicity of recipient mice. When treated with berberine,the DSS-induced enteric dysbacteriosis could be mitigated and their fecal bacteria were able to reduce acute hepatotoxicity in recipient mice. This study indicates that berberine could improve intestinal dysbacteriosis, which reduces the hepatotoxicity caused by pathological or pharmacological intervention. | 14 | Hydroxycalciopyrochlore, A New Mineral Species from Sichuan, China显示文摘Hydroxycalciopyrochlore, ideally(Ca,Na,U,□)2(Nb,Ti)2O6(OH), cubic, is a new mineral species(IMA2011-026) within the pyrochlore supergroup that was found occurring at the Maoniuping mine, Mianning County, Xichang prefecture, Sichuan Province, southwest China. The mineral is found in an alkali feldspar granite rare-earth ore deposit(26–27 Ma). Associated minerals include calcite, barite, celestine, albite, aegirine, aegirine-augite, fluorite, parasite-(Ce), thorite, thorianite, zircon, galena, sphalerite, magnetite, and pyrite. Crystals occur mostly as octahedra, and less often as dodecahedra and tetrahexahedra or combinations thereof. Some occur with an allotriomorphic habit with a thick triangular tabular form. Crystals generally range from 0.1 to 1 mm in size. The mineral is brownishblack, greenish-black and black on fresh sections with a brown streak. The crystal is translucent, and has a greasy lustre on fresh sections. It is metamict without any observed parting or cleavage and with a conchoidal fracture. The Vickers microhardness is 572 kg/mm2(5–6 on the Mohs hardness scale). The density measured by hydrostatic weighing is 5.10(3) g/cm3. The strongest four reflections in the X-ray powder-diffraction pattern [d in(I) hkl] are: 2.9657(100) 2 2 2, 1.8142(34) 0 4 4, 1.5463(21) 2 2 6, 2.5688(18) 0 0 4. The unit-cell parameters are a = 10.381(4), V = 1118.7(7)3, Z = 8. The structure was solved and refined in the space group Fd3m with R = 0.09. The empirical formula is(Ca0.74Na0.58U0.40Ce0.05Fe0.02□0.21)2.00(Nb1.15Ti0.80Ta0.03Al0.01Mg0.01)2.00O6.02 [(OH)1.01F0.09]1.10, on the basis of 2 atoms of B pfu; the simplified formula is(Ca,Na,U,□)2(Nb,Ti)2O6(OH). | 15 | Temporal and Spatial Variability of Dissolved Organic Carbon Concentration in the Xijiang River, South China显示文摘A whole year analysis of riverine dissolved organic carbon (DOC) concentrations in the Xijiang River (XJR), South China, showed that the mean riverine DOC concentration (1.24 mg L-1) in the XJR was notably lower than the averaged value (5.75 mg L-1) of the global riverine DOC concentration in several major rivers. There is an inconspicuous monthly fluctuation of the DOC signal in the XJR, but on a semi-yearly time scale, however, the riverine DOC concentration had significant difference between hydrological seasons. The DOC level during the flood season (1.18 mg L-1) was less than that during the non-flood season (1.40 mg L-1). Owing to the concomitance of the flushing and dilution effects of the runoff during the high-water period, the variation of riverine DOC concentration with discharge in the XJR differed from that reported in many other major rivers. The DOC export flux above the city of Wuzhou was about 0.62× 106 g C km-2 yr-1. The DOC transported during the '056' Massive Flood period comprised 30.35% of the annual total, while the discharge accounted for 36.32% of the total annual flow. The observation and research show that the change of water content of the bank slope lags the precipitation process, the infiltration water concentrates mainly in the shallow layer of the bank slope, also the bank slope was unsaturated, the floods and debris flows in the gully down cut the gully bed, and scour the foot of the bank slope. | 18 | Effect of microelement and chemical fungicides on biocontrol effect of Trichoderma T23显示文摘Recently there have been many reports about soil diseases controlled by Trichoderma, but few could be applied on agriculture production in large areas. T23 isolated from soil around plant roots in the field by Biopesticide Engineering Center of Shenyang Agricultural University could control effectively Cucurbits Fusarium Wilt. The effects of 9 microelements which include copper, zinc, iron, boron, molybdenum, calcium, manganese, magnesium, potassium and frequently-used chemical fungicides, such as-carbendazim, thiram, thiophanate-methyl, chlorothalonil and hymexazol on the growth and the amounts of spores of Fusarium oxysporum FJ and Trichoderma T23 were studied. The effects of those factors on control effect of T23 to melon diseases were discussed and gave basis for the screening of synergistic agents and fungicides in controlling synergistically the pathogen. The results showed that copper sulfate, zinc sulfate, ferric sulfate and boric acid at concentration of 10-1000 μg/mL had the stronger inhibition to F. oxysporum, while weaker inhibition to Trichoderma. Ammonium molybdate, ferrous sulfate, calcium sulfate and potassium dihydrogen phosphate were the ideal the synergistic agent for accelerating the growth and sporulation of Trichoderma, and germination of melon seeds and growth of melon radicle. Melon Fusarium wilt was controlled by Trichoderma combined with ammonium molybdate and calcium sulfate. The relative control effect reached to 73.95%-71.36%. Several fungicides used generally in soil had a different effect on the growth of F. oxysporum and Trichoderma. Carbendazim appeared a strong inhibition to the growth of two strains, with EC50 of 3.01 mg/L and 0.75. mg/L, respectively. Trichoderma had the strong resistance to thiram which control to Fusarium oxysporum was not ideal in field. Hymexazol which EC50 was 261 mg/L and Trichoderma had the synergistical effect on controlling to F. oxysporum. Trichoderma could reproduce in soil treated with hymexazol at ratio of 2000-4000.
