P-selectin expression was detected in bepatic/renal tissueswith immunohistochemistry methodRESULTS: P-selectin expression, serum ALT, AST, BUN andCr levels were significantly increased during 60 minuteischemia and 1 h, 3 h, 6 h and 24 h reperfusion,while theincrement was significantly inhibited,and hepatic/renalpathology observed by light microscopy was remarkablyimproved by treatment with the N-desulfated heparin.Furthermore,the heparin was found no effects on PT and KPTT.CONCLUSION: P-selectin might mediate neutrophilinfiltration and contribute to hepatic/renal ischemia andreperfusion. | 6 | The M5.0 Suining-Tongnan (China) earthquake of 31 January 2010:A destructive earthquake occurring in sedimentary cover显示文摘Usually, only crystalline basement is strong enough to store the massive strain energy that can be released in a damaging earthquake. By contrast, sedimentary cover is weak, because of its relatively high porosity and fluids. Therefore, it generally cannot accumulate enough energy for strong earthquakes. On January 31, 2010, a M5.0 earthquake occurred near the border of Suining and Tongnan in China. It excited strong short-period Rayleigh waves Rg, indicative of its shallow focal depth. The focal depth is constrained to less than 4 km, most probably in the range of 1-3 km, by modeling amplitude dependence on the frequency and waveforms of teleseismic depth phases (pP, sP). Because the local Mesozoic sedimentary cover is about 6 km thick, this earthquake should have occurred in the sedimentary cover. Though some shallow earthquakes with magnitudes up to M4 occur in Paleozoic sediments, this earthquake is the first M5 event studied in Mesozoic sedimentary cover. | 8 | 在尖锐 ischemic 击的磁性的回声散开灌注失配: 更改显示文摘 The concept of magnetic resonance perfusion-diffusion mismatch(PDM) provides a practical and approximate measure of the tissue at risk and has been increasingly applied for the evaluation of hyperacute and acute stroke in animals and patients.Recent studies demonstrated that PDM does not optimally define the ischemic penumbra;because early abnormality on diffusion-weighted imaging overestimates the infarct core by including part of the penumbra,and the abnormality on perfusion weighted imaging overestimates the penumbra by including regions of benign oligemia.To overcome these limitations,many efforts have been made to optimize conventional PDM.Various alternatives beyond the PDM concept are under investigation in order to better define the penumbra.The PDM theory has been applied in ischemic stroke for at least three purposes:to be used as a practical selection tool for stroke treatment;to test the hypothesis that patients with PDM pattern will benefit from treatment,while those without mismatch pattern will not;to be a surrogate measure for stroke outcome.The main patterns of PDM and its relation with clinical outcomes were also briefly reviewed.The conclusion was that patients with PDM documented more reperfusion,reduced infarct growth and better clinical outcomes compared to patients without PDM,but it was not yet clear that thrombolytic therapy is beneficial when patients were selected on PDM.Studies based on a larger cohort are currently under investigation to further validate the PDM hypothesis. | Feng Chen Yi-Cheng Ni | 2012 | World Journal of Radiology2012,4,3: | 14 |
| 9 | Altered oral microbiota in chronic hepatitis B patients with different tongue coatings显示文摘AIM To elucidate tongue coating microbiota and metabolic differences in chronic hepatitis B(CHB) patients with yellow or white tongue coatings.METHODS Tongue coating samples were collected from 53 CHBpatients(28 CHB yellow tongue coating patients and 25 CHB white tongue coating patients) and 22 healthy controls.Microbial DNA was extracted from the tongue samples,and the bacterial 16 S ribosomal RNA gene V3 region was amplified from all samples and sequenced with the Ion Torrent PGM^(TM)sequencing platform according to the standard protocols.The metabolites in the tongue coatings were evaluated using a liquid chromatographymass spectrometry(LC-MS) platform.Statistical analyses were then performed.RESULTS The relative compositions of the tongue coating microbiotas and metabolites in the CHB patients were significantly different from those of the healthy controls,but the tongue coating microbiota abundances and diversity levels were not significantly different.Compared with the CHB white tongue coating patients,the CHB yellow tongue coating patients had higher hepatitis B viral DNA(HBV-DNA) titers(median 21210 vs 500,respectively,P = 0.03) and a significantly lower level of Bacteroidetes(20.14% vs 27.93%,respectively,P = 0.013) and higher level of Proteobacteria(25.99% vs 18.17%,respectively,P = 0.045) in the microbial compositions at the phylum level.The inferred metagenomic pathways enriched in the CHB yellow tongue coating patients were mainly those involved in amino acid metabolism,which was consistent with the metabolic disorder.The abundances of bacteria from Bacteroidales at the order level were higher in the CHB white tongue coating patients(19.2% vs 27.22%,respectively,P = 0.011),whereas Neisseriales were enriched in the yellow tongue coating patients(21.85% vs 13.83%,respectively,P = 0.029).At the family level,the abundance of Neisseriaceae in the yellow tongue patients was positively correlated with the HBV-DNA level but negatively correlated with the S-adenosyl-L-methionine level.CONCLUSION This research illustrates specific clinical features and bacterial structures in CHB patients with different tongue coatings,which facilitates understanding of the traditional tongue diagnosis. | Yu Zhao Yu-Feng Mao Yi-Shuang Tang Ming-Zhu Ni Qiao-Hong Liu Yan Wang Qin Feng Jing-Hua Peng Yi-Yang Hu | 2018 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2018,24,30: | 13 |
| 10 | Primary intestinal malignant fibrous histiocytoma:two case reports显示文摘Malignant fibrous histiocytoma (MFH) occurs most commonly in the extremities and trunk, but rarely in the intestine. Here we report two cases of primary intestinal MFH. The first case was a 70-year old man admitted for recurrent right lower quadrant abdominal pain. At laparotomy, a tumor was found originating from the cecum, with a suspicious metastatic nodule on the surface of the right lobe of the liver. A right hemicolectomy was performed followed by an ileotransverse end-to-end anastomotic reconstruction. The second case was a 43-year old man with intussusceptions of the small intestine. An emergent laparotomy revealed 4 pedunculated masses in the small bowel and a partial resection of the small intestine was performed. Though the symptoms were not typical, based on histological and immunohistochemical studies, the patients were diagnosed as MFH of the intestine. They were not treated with chemotherapy or radiotherapy and both died within 3 mo. MFH of the intestine is an extremely rare neoplasm with an aggressive biological behavior. The pathogenesis of this disease has not been clarified to date. | 12 | A resistin binding peptide selected by phage display inhibits 3T3-L1 preadipocyte differentiation显示文摘Background Resistin, a newly discovered cysteine-rich hormone secreted mainly by adipose tissues, has been proposed to form a biochemical link between obesity and type 2 diabetes. However, the resistin receptor has not yet been identified. This study aimed to identify resistin binding proteins/receptor. Methods Three cDNA fragments with the same 11 bp 5’ sequence were found by screening a cDNA phage display library of rat multiple tissues. As the reading frames of the same 11 bp 5’ sequence were interrupted by a TGA stop codon, plaque lift assay was consequently used to prove the readthrough phenomenon. The stop codon in the same 11 bp 5’ sequence was replaced by tryptophan, and the binding activity of the coded peptide [AWIL, which was designated as resistin binding peptide (RBP)] with resistin was identified by the confocal microscopy technique and the affinity chromatography experiment. pDual GC-resistin and pDual GC-resistin binding peptide were co-transfected into 3T3-L1 cells to confirm the function of resistin binding peptide. Results Three cDNA fragments with the same 11 bp 5’ sequence were found. The TGA stop codon in reading frames of the same 11 bp 5’ sequence was proved to be readthroughed. The binding activity of RBP with resistin was consequently identified. The expression of the resistin binding peptide in 3T3-L1 preadipocytes expressing pDual GC-resistin significantly inhibited the adipogenic differentiation. | 13 | Carbon-nitrogen/graphene composite as metal-free electrocatalyst for the oxygen reduction reaction显示文摘Sheet-like carbon-nitrogen (CNx)/graphene composites with a high content of nitrogen (x≤0.15) was prepared by the carbonization of polypyrrole (PPy)/reduced-graphene-oxide (rGO) composite at 600-800°C. We used rGO instead of graphene oxide (GO) sheets as a template and a substrate to immobilize PPy since the PPy/GO composite agglomerates easily because of the dehydration of excess oxygen-containing groups on the GO sheets during the drying process. The dried PPy/rGO intermediate and its derived CNx/graphene products retain their high dispersion and loose-powder features. The as-prepared CNx/graphene composites have a total nitrogen content of about 10 at% and their nitrogen state is mainly of pyridinic and graphitic type. | 14 | Inflammatory biomarkers and cerebral small vessel disease:a community-based cohort study显示文摘Background and purpose Although inflammation has been proposed to be a candidate risk factor for cerebral small vessel disease(CSVD),previous findings remain largely inconclusive and vary according to disease status and study designs.The present study aimed to investigate possible associations between inflammatory biomarkers and MRI markers of CSVD.Methods A group of 15 serum inflammatory biomarkers representing a variety of those putatively involved in the inflammatory cascade was grouped and assessed in a cross-sectional study involving 960 stroke-free subjects.The biomarker panel was grouped as follows:systemic inflammation(high-sensitivity C reactive protein(hsCRP),interleukin 6 and tumour necrosis factorα),endothelial-related inflammation(E-selectin,P-selectin,intercellular adhesion molecule 1,vascular cell adhesion molecule 1(VCAM-1),CD40 ligand,lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2,chitinase-3-like 1 protein and total homocysteine(tHCY))and media-related inflammation(matrix metalloproteinases 2,3 and 9,and osteopontin).The association(s)between different inflammatory groups and white matter hyperintensity(WMH),lacunes,cerebral microbleeds(CMBs),enlarged perivascular space(PVS)and the number of deep medullary veins(DMVs)were investigated.Results High levels of serum endothelial-related inflammatory biomarkers were associated with both increased WMH volume(R^(2)=0.435,p=0.015)and the presence of lacunes(R^(2)=0.254,p=0.027).Backward stepwise elimination of individual inflammatory biomarkers for endothelial-related biomarkers revealed that VCAM-1 was significant for WMH(β=0.063,p=0.005)and tHCY was significant for lacunes(β=0.069,p<0.001).There was no association between any group of inflammatory biomarkers and CMBs or PVS.Systemic inflammatory biomarkers were associated with fewer DMVs(R^(2)=0.032,p=0.006),and backward stepwise elimination of individual systemic-related inflammatory biomarkers revealed that hsCRP(β=−0.162,p=0.007)was significant.Conclusion WMH and lacunes were associated with endothelial-related inflammatory biomarkers,and fewer DMVs were associated with systemic inflammation,thus suggesting different underlying inflammatory processes and mechanisms. | Ding-Ding Zhang Yuan Cao Jing-Yu Mu Yi-Ming Liu Feng Gao Fei Han Fei-Fei Zhai Li-Xin Zhou Jun Ni Ming Yao Ming-Li Li Zheng-Yu Jin Shu-Yang Zhang Li-Ying Cui Yong Shen Yi-Cheng Zhu | 2022 | Stroke & Vascular Neurology2022,7,4: | 11 |
| 15 | LORELEI-LIKE GPI-ANCHORED PROTEINS 2/3 Regulate Pollen Tube Growth as Chaperones and Coreceptors for ANXUR/BUPS Receptor Kinases in Arabidopsis显示文摘Pollen tube growth is crucial for successful fertilization.In Arabidopsis thaliana,the ANXUR(ANX)/BUPS receptor kinase complex controls and maintains pollen tube growth in response to autocrine rapid alkalin-ization factor 4/19(RALF4/19)signaling;however,the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying the ANX/BUPS-mediated regulation of pollen tube growth remain unclear.In this study,we found that pollen-specific LORELEI-like GPI-anchored proteins 2 and 3(LLG2/3)promote pollen tube growth in vitro and in vivo.LLG2/3 interacte with ANX/BUPS in a RALF4-concentration-dependent manner,suggesting that ANX/BUPS and LLG2/3 might form a receptor-coreceptor complex for perceiving RALF peptide signals.Disruption of the ANX/BUPS-LLG2/3 interaction led to the cytoplasmic retention of ANX1/2,in either llg2/3 knockdown mutants or in anx1/2 mutants lacking the J region,which mediates the ANX/BUPS-LLG2/3 interaction.Moreover,we found that RALF4 induced the production of reactive oxygen species(ROS),which stimulate pollen tube growth and reduce pollen burst rate.ROS levels are reduced in the pollen tubes of LLG2/3 RNAi lines,and application of exogenous H2O2 could partially rescue the defective pollen tube growth of LLG2/3 RNAi lines.Taken together,our study identifies LLG2/3 as novel regulatory components of pollen tube growth,and shows that they chaperone ANX/BUPS for secretion to the apical plasma membrane of pollen tube and act as coreceptors of ANX/BUPS in the acti-vation of ROS production for promoting pollen tube growth. | Hanqian Feng Chen Liu Rong Fu Minmin Zhang Hui Li Lianping Shen Qiqi Wei Xiang Sun Lin Xu Bin Ni Chao Li | 2019 | Molecular Plant2019,12,12: | 10 |

| 18 | Evaluation of soil washing process with carboxymethyl-β-cyclodextrin and carboxymethyl chitosan for recovery of PAHs/heavy metals/fluorine from metallurgic plant site显示文摘Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons(PAHs)/heavy metals/fluorine(F) mixed-contaminated sites caused by abandoned metallurgic plants are receiving wide attention. To address the associated environmental problems,this study was initiated to investigate the feasibility of using carboxymethyl-β-cyclodextrin(CMCD) and carboxymethyl chitosan(CMC) solution to enhance ex situ soil washing for extracting mixed contaminants. Further,Tenax extraction method was combined with a first-three-compartment model to evaluate the environmental risk of residual PAHs in washed soil. In addition,the redistribution of heavy metals/F after decontamination was also estimated using a sequential extraction procedure. Three successive washing cycles using50 g/L CMCD and 5 g/L CMC solution were effective to remove 94.3% of total PAHs,93.2% of Pb,85.8% of Cd,93.4% of Cr,83.2% of Ni and 97.3% of F simultaneously. After the 3rd washing,the residual PAHs mainly existed as very slowly desorbing fractions,which were in the form of well-aged,well-sequestered compounds; while the remaining Pb,Cd,Cr,Ni and F mainly existed as Fe–Mn oxide and residual fractions,which were always present in stable mineral forms or bound to non-labile soil fractions. | 19 | Impacts of algal blooms removal by chitosan-modified soils on zooplankton community in Taihu Lake,China显示文摘It is important to assess the eflect on zooplankton when perform the environmental protection or restoration technology,especially removing algal blooms,because algae were the major primary producer in algal lakes.The influence on zooplankton community after half a year of algal blooms removed by chitosan-modified soils in Taihu Lake was assessed and the rationality of carrying out the process semiannually was evaluated in the present study.Morphological composition and genetic diversity of zooplankton community were investigated by microscope checkup and polymerase chain reaction-denatured gradient gel electrophoresis(PCR-DGGE) .A total of 44 zooplankton taxa(23 protozoa,17 rotifers,3 copepoda and 1 cladocera) were detected by microscope checkup,and a total of 91 bands(28 bands amplified by primers F1427-GC and R1616,63 bands amplified by primers Fung-GC and NS1) were detected by PCR-DGGE.The results of cluster analysis or detrended correspondence analysis indicated that there was no considerable diflerence in morphological composition of zooplankton and DGGE profiles between experimental and control sites,and DGGE profiles could represent the biologic diversity.The study showed that zooplankton community could recover original condition after half year of algal blooms removed by chitosan-modified soils and it was acceptable to apply this process semiannually.In addition,the results revealed that PCR-DGGE could be applied to investigate the impacts of the environmental protection or restoration engineering on zooplankton community diversity. | Jiajia Ni Yuhe Yu Weisong Feng Qingyun Yan Gang Pan Bo Yang Xiang Zhang Xuemei Li | 2010 | Journal of Environmental Sciences2010,22,10: | 8 |
| 20 | A preliminary study of variations of the Changjiang Diluted Water between August of 1999 and 2006显示文摘A large area hypoxia has been already reported respectively by two interdisciplinary surveys off the Changjiang Estuary since summer of 1999 and 2006.The hypoxic zone shows distinct year-to-year variations.Observed oceanographic data are first analysized and reveal a big difference for the Changjiang Diluted Water(CDW) between these two periods.These great changes are related to the tremendous reduction of the freshwater discharge and variations of wind fields between these two years.It is also found that the monthly mean intrusion of Kuroshio and its branches has increased in the northern East China Sea(ECS),but decreased in the southern ECS in August of 2006 as compared with 1999 on the base of general circulation models.Then,the Regional Ocean Modelling Systems is applied to the East China Sea to evaluate the contributions and relative importance of impacts from the river discharge,wind forcing and open boundary data.Our simulations reproduce the phenomena that more fresh water extends northeastward in 2006 and forms a negative SSS anomaly to the northeast of the river mouth as compared with 1999,which is consistent with observations.The five group numerical tests suggest that the wind forcing dominates the CDW variations followed by the Kuroshio and its branches.The study implies important roles played by hydrodynamic processes on the variability of hypoxic zone in the study areas. | ZHOU Feng XUAN Jiliang NI Xiaobo HUANG Daji | 2009 | Acta Oceanologica Sinica2009,28,6: | 8 |
