| 1 | 垂直方向磷素竞争对杉木根系生长及生物量分配的影响显示文摘针对自然环境中有效磷养分主要分布于土壤表层而容易导致植物根系激烈竞争的问题,选择同一杉木(Cunninghamia lanceolata)无性系幼苗为研究对象,采用水平方向空间狭小而垂直方向空间大的室内盆栽模拟装置,以单株种植为对照,构建双株种植的竞争处理,通过设置3个供磷水平:不供磷处理(0 mg/kg KH_2PO_4)、低磷处理(6 mg/kg KH_2PO_4)和正常供磷处理(12 mg/kg KH_2PO_4),采用破坏性试验方式收获,分别在试验的前期(50 d)、中期(100 d)和后期(150 d)测定不同处理条件下杉木幼苗根系生物量与根系形态的变化,研究邻株杉木根系在垂直方向上对有限磷素资源的竞争策略。结果表明:竞争处理和供磷水平对杉木幼苗根系长度、平均直径等形态指标的影响存在交互作用(P<0.05),对杉木幼苗生物量分配、比根长等指标的影响均不存在明显的交互作用(P>0.05)。竞争处理中杉木根系形态增量均明显高于非竞争处理的单株幼苗,且随着胁迫时间的增加,根系形态增量均呈现显著的上升趋势,其中在胁迫中期和后期的增量明显高于前期,且邻株竞争处理明显提高了杉木的比根长,提升了根系觅磷的能力;随着供磷水平的提高,根表面积和根体积增量大体上呈现先上升后下降的趋势。与非竞争处理相比,竞争条件下杉木地上部生物积累量差异不明显,而根系生物量、根冠比均低于非竞争处理的单株幼苗。 | 许静静 李琦 吴文景 Rashid Muhammad Haroon U 马祥庆 吴鹏飞 | 2019 | 生态学报2019,39,6: | 11 |
| 2 | Physiological and biochemical appraisal for mulching and partial rhizosphere drying of cotton显示文摘Water is the main factor for the healthy life of plant.One of the main negative effects of climate change is the increasing scarcity of water that is lethal for plant.Globally,for water deficit regions(arid and semi-arid),drought is the main factor responsible for low production of agriculture,especially for cotton.Great efforts have been and are being made to find alternatives to water saving practices.This study aimed to examine the effects of partial rhizosphere drying(PRD,half of the root system irrigated at one event,and the other half irrigated in the next event,and so on)with and/or without various mulching treatments on physiological and biochemical traits of cotton.To explore this objective,we laid out experiments in completely randomized design with factorial arrangement in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur,Pakistan in 2016.Two factors included were four mulching treatments(M0,no mulching;M1,black plastic mulching;M2,wheat straw mulching;and M3,cotton sticks mulching)and two irrigation levels(I0,control(full irrigation);and I1,PRD).Fisher's analysis of variance among means of treatments was compared using least significant difference test at 5% probability level.Results revealed that the maximum plant height,leaf area,leaf gas exchange(photosynthetic rate and stomata conductance),chlorophyll,proline and total sugar contents,and enzyme activities were higher under M2 than under other three mulching treatments.As for irrigation levels,higher values of plant height,photosynthesis and water related parameters(leaf water potential,leaf osmotic potential,leaf turgor potential,etc.)were recorded.Contents of total sugar and proline and activities of antioxidant enzymes were significantly higher in PRD-treated plants than in control plants.It was concluded that combined application of PRD and mulching was more effective than the rest of the treatments used in the experiment.Similar study can be conducted in the field by applying irrigation water in alternate rows in semi-arid regions. | Rashid IQBAL Muhammad A S RAZA Muhammad F SALEEM Imran H KHAN Salman AHMAD Muhammad S ZAHEER Muhammad U ASLAM Imran HAIDER | 2019 | Journal of Arid Land2019,11,5: | 2 |
| 3 | Interspecific plant interaction via root exudates structures the disease suppressiveness of rhizosphere microbiomes显示文摘Terrestrial plants can affect the growth and health of adjacent plants via interspecific interaction.Here,we studied the mechanism by which plant root exudates affect the recruitment of the rhizosphere microbiome in adjacent plants—with implications for plant protection—using a tomato(Solanum lycopersicum)–potatoonion(Allium cepa var.agrogatum)intercropping system.First,we showed that the intercropping system results in a disease-suppressive rhizosphere microbiome that protects tomato plants against Verticillium wilt disease caused by the soilborne pathogen Verticillium dahliae.Second,16S rRNA gene sequencing revealed that intercropping with potatoonion altered the composition of the tomato rhizosphere microbiome by promoting the colonization of specific Bacillus sp.This taxon was isolated and shown to inhibit V.dahliae growth and induce systemic resistance in tomato plants.Third,a belowground segregation experiment found that root exudates mediated the interspecific interaction between potatoonion and tomato.Moreover,experiments using split-root tomato plants found that root exudates from potatoonion,especially taxifolin—a flavonoid compound—stimulate tomato plants to recruit plant-beneficial bacteria,such as Bacillus sp.Lastly,ultra-high-pressure liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry analysis found that taxifolin alters tomato root exudate chemistry;thus,this compound acts indirectly in modulating root colonization by Bacillus sp.Our results revealed that this intercropping system can improve tomato plant fitness by changing rhizosphere microbiome recruitment via the use of signaling chemicals released by root exudates of potatoonion.This study revealed a novel mechanism by which interspecific plant interaction modulates the establishment of a disease-suppressive microbiome,thus opening up new avenues of research for precision plant microbiome manipulations. | Xingang Zhou Jingyu Zhang Muhammad Khashi u Rahman Danmei Gao Zhong Wei Fengzhi Wu Francisco Dini-Andreote | 2023 | Molecular Plant2023,16,5: | 2 |
| 4 | Structural, electronic, and optical properties of ZnO_(1-x)Se_x alloys using first-principles calculations显示文摘The structural, electronic, and optical properties of binary ZnO, ZnSe compounds, and their ternary ZnO 1-x Se x alloys are computed using the accurate full potential linearized augmented plane wave plus local orbital (FP-LAPW + lo) method in the rocksalt (B1) and zincblende (B3) crystallographic phases. The electronic band structures, fundamental energy band gaps, and densities of states for ZnO 1-x Se x are evaluated in the range 0 ≤ x ≤ 1 using Wu-Cohen (WC) generalized gradient approximation (GGA) for the exchange-correlation potential. Our calculated results of lattice parameters and bulk modulus reveal a nonlinear variation for pseudo-binary and their ternary alloys in both phases and show a considerable deviation from Vegard's law. It is observed that the predicted lattice parameter and bulk modulus are in good agreement with the available experimental and theoretical data. We establish that the composition dependence of band gap is semi-metallic in B1 phase, while a direct band gap is observed in B3 phase.
