| 1 | Comparing the Diagnostic Criteria for Gestational Diabetes Mellitus of World Health Organization 2013 with 1999 in Chinese Population显示文摘INTRODUCTION Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) was earlier defined as 'hyperglycemia first recognized during pregnancy' and has more recently been described by American Diabetes Association (ADA) (2012) as diabetes diagnosed during pregnancy that is not clearly overt diabetes.[1] The hyperglycemia and adverse pregnancy outcomes study (HAPO) demonstrated that the risk of adverse maternal,fetal,and neonatal outcomes continuously increase as a function of maternal glycemia at 24-28 weeks,even within ranges previously considered normal for pregnancy.[2] After reviewing the results of the HAPO study,many international diabetes study groups,including the International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Groups and ADA have adopted the 75 g oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) at 24-28 weeks as a screening and diagnostic test and defined new cut-off values for GDM diagnosis.The Ministry of Health of China published the criteria for GDM,that is the same as the ADA criteria on July 1,2011.World Health Organization (WHO) has recommended the 75 g OGTT with different cut-offvalues as a diagnostic test since 1999,changed its recommendation on 2013.In Hongkong and Yunnan province in China,most hospital adopted the WHO 1999 criteria,nevertheless,there is no evidence of multicenter and large sample to show that the GDM population within the same ethnic group diagnosed by the new WHO criteria matches those diagnosed by the old one and consistency between the two criteria has not been reported.Thus,we conducted this study to analyze the two criteria in Chinese pregnant women. | Weiwei Zhu Huixia Yang Yumei Wei Zilian Wang Xuelan Li Hairong Wu Nan Li Meihua Zhang Xinghui Liu Hua Zhang Yunhui Wang Jianmin Niu Yujie Gan Liruo Zhong Yunfeng Wang Anil Kapur | 2015 | Chinese Medical Journal2015,,1: | 42 |

Volcanogenetic textures, structures and minerals such as high-temperature quartz are found in clayrocks at the Permian-Triassic boundary in many places. Thousands of microspherules have been collected from the Boundary clayrocks, many of which exhibit the typical features of the process from melting to cooling and solidification. indicating that they were formed by volcanic eruption or extraterrestrial impact. Volcanic effects on the Permian-Triassic mass extinction may be reflected in conodonts, algae and ammonoids. The Boundary clayrocks are found in many Permian-Triassic sections along the coast of Tethys. | 6 | Three-dimensional Finite Element Analysis of the Mechanical Properties of Helical Thread Connection显示文摘Conventional analytical and numerical methods for the mechanical properties of helical threads are relied on many assumptions and approximations and thus hardly yield satisfied results. A parameterized 3D finite element model of bolted joints with real helical thread geometry is established and meshed with refined hexahedral elements. The Von Mises plasticity criterion, kinematic hardening rule of materials and interfacial contacts are employed to make it possible for the suggested model be able to approach real assembly conditions. Then, the mechanical properties of bolted joints with different thread pitches, thread numbers and modular ratios are investigated, including the contact pressure distribution at joint interfaces, the axial load distribution and stress concentration in screw threads during the loading and unloading process. Simulation results indicate that the load distribution in screw threads produced by the suggested model agrees well the results from CHEN's photoelastic tests. In addition, an interesting phenomenon is found that tightening the bolt with a large preload first and then adjusting the clamping force by unloading can make the load distribution more uniform and reduce the maximum residual equivalent stress in thread roots by up to 40%. However, the frequent safety issues of Chinese medicine have become the ‘bottleneck' impeding the modernization of TCM. It was proved that mycotoxins seriously affect TCM safety; the pesticide residues of TCM are a key problem in TCM international trade; adulterants have also been detected, which is related to market circulation. These three factors have greatly affected TCM safety. | 8 | Surface latent heat flux anomalies prior to the Indonesia Mw9.0 ear thquakeof 2004显示文摘The temporal and spatial variations of surface latent heat flux (SLHF) before and after the Mw9.0 earthquake that occurred on the west coast of Sumatra, Indonesia on 26 December 2004 are summarized. It is found that before the earthquake significant SLHF anomalies occurred at the epicentral area and its vicinity. The largest SLHF anomaly oc- curred on the subduction zone in the middle part of Burma micro-plate, where the middle part of the rup- ture zone is located and the aftershocks are concen- trated. The developments of the anomaly involved growing of the anomaly from small to large and spreading of the anomaly from disordered to con- centrated. The anomaly began to occur on the east extensional boundary of the Burma micro-plate and its adjacent oceanic basin, and then propagated to the west compressive boundary, where the subduc- tion zone exists. Finally, the anomaly disappeared after the main shock. The seismic source is consid- ered to be a dissipation system. | 10 | CD59 Silencing via Retrovirus-Mediated RNA Interference Enhanced Complement-Mediated Cell Damage in Ovary Cancer显示文摘CD59,belonging to membrane complement regulatory proteins(mCRPs) ,inhibits the cytolytic activity of complement and is over-expressed in solid cancers,including ovary cancer. The aim of the present study was to construct recombinant retrovirus encoding shRNA targeted human CD59 and infect A2780 cells in order to investigate the relationship between decreased CD59 expression and tumorigenesis of ovary cancer. siCD59 and siCD59-C were successfully constructed and identified by PCR,restriction endonuclease analyses and DNA sequencing,respectively. The siCD59 was able to efficiently infect A2780 cells,which was confirmed by Western blotting. When incubated with fresh normal human serum(8%,v/v) for 1 h at 37°C,the cell viability was decreased and cell damage was increased in siCD59 infected A2780 cells compared to siCD59-C infected cells. This led to the activation of caspase-3. The apoptosis in siCD59 infected cells was shown with hypercondensed nuclei using Hoechst staining. Meanwhile,the weight of ovary tumor graft in nude mice was significantly decreased in siCD59 group compared to that of siCD59-C group. And the expression of CD59 protein in tumor tissue in siCD59 group was significantly decreased. These results suggested that CD59 silencing in ovary cancer cells via retrovirusmediated RNAi can enhance complement-mediated cell damage,inhibiting growth of ovary cancer. | 12 | A Novel Approach to Automatic Security Protocol Analysis Based on Authentication Event Logic显示文摘Since security protocols form the cornerstones of modern secure networked systems, it is important to develop informative, accurate, and deployable approach for finding errors and proving that protocols meet their security requirements. We propose a novel approach to check security properties of cryptographic protocols using authentication event logic. Compared with logic of algorithm knowledge, authentication event logic guarantees that any well-typed protocol is robustly safe under attack while reasoning only about the actions of honest principals in the protocol. It puts no bound on the size of the principal and requires no state space enumeration and it is decidable. The types for protocol data provide some intuitive explanation of how the protocol works. | 14 | Activity after Site-Directed Mutagenesis of CD59 on Complement-Mediated Cytolysis显示文摘CD59 may inhibit the cytolytic activity of complement by binding to C8/C9 and protect host cell membranes against homologous membrane attack complex (MAC). However,CD59 is widely overexpressed on tumor cells,which has been implicated in tumorigenesis. The active site of CD59 relative to MAC is still confused. As reported the MAC binding site is located in the vicinity of a hydrophobic groove on the membrane distal face of the protein centered around residue W40. Here two site-directed mutagenesis were performed by overlapping extension PCR to delete residue W40 site (Mutant 1,M1) or to change C39W40K41 to W39W40W41 (Mutant 2,M2). Then we constructed mutant CD59 eukaryotic expression system and investigated their biological function on CHO cells compared with wild-type CD59. Stable populations of CHO cells expressing recombinant proteins were screened by immunotechnique. After 30 passages culturing,proteins could be tested. Dye release assays suggest that M1CD59 loses the activity against complement,while M2CD59 increases the anti-complement activity slightly. The prevalence of PACG (0.41%) in chinese is between the Caucasian and Eskimos, and chronic type is the dominant type in PACG. However, with the economic development and medical care improvements, the prevalence condition of PACG may change; several researches discovered that the mechanism of PACG, especially the chronic type, is not only because of pupil-blocking but also closely related to the mechanism of crowding of peripheral iris and the anterior location of the ciliary body. We supposed that PACG can be divided into several subtypes based on this machnism. | 19 | Deep-learning-based ciphertext-only attack on optical double random phase encryption显示文摘Optical cryptanalysis is essential to the further investigation of more secure optical cryptosystems.Learning-based at-tack of optical encryption eliminates the need for the retrieval of random phase keys of optical encryption systems but it is limited for practical applications since it requires a large set of plaintext-ciphertext pairs for the cryptosystem to be at-tacked.Here,we propose a two-step deep learning strategy for ciphertext-only attack(COA)on the classical double ran-dom phase encryption(DRPE).Specifically,we construct a virtual DRPE system to gather the training data.Besides,we divide the inverse problem in COA into two more specific inverse problems and employ two deep neural networks(DNNs)to respectively learn the removal of speckle noise in the autocorrelation domain and the de-correlation operation to retrieve the plaintext image.With these two trained DNNs at hand,we show that the plaintext can be predicted in real-time from an unknown ciphertext alone.The proposed learning-based COA method dispenses with not only the retrieval of random phase keys but also the invasive data acquisition of plaintext-ciphertext pairs in the DPRE system.Numerical simulations and optical experiments demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed learning-based COA method. | Meihua Liao Shanshan Zheng Shuixin Pan Dajiang Lu Wenqi He Guohai Situ Xiang Peng | 2021 | Opto-Electronic Advances2021,4,5: | 7 |
| 20 | Emodin attenuates severe acute pancreatitis-associated acute lung injury by suppressing pancreatic exosome-mediated alveolar macrophage activation显示文摘Severe acute pancreatitis-associated acute lung injury(SAP-ALI) is a serious disease associated with high mortality. Emodin has been applied to alleviate SAP-ALI;however, the mechanism remains unclear. We report that the therapeutic role of emodin in attenuating SAP-ALI is partly dependent on an exosomal mechanism. SAP rats had increased levels of plasma exosomes with altered protein contents compared to the sham rats. These infused plasma exosomes tended to accumulate in the lungs and promoted the hyper-activation of alveolar macrophages and inflammatory damage. Conversely,emodin treatment decreased the plasma/pancreatic exosome levels in the SAP rats. Emodin-primed exosomes showed less pro-inflammatory effects in alveolar macrophages and lung tissues than SAP exosomes. In detail, emodin-primed exosomes suppressed the NF-κB pathway to reduce the activation of alveolar macrophage and ameliorate lung inflammation by regulating PPARγ pathway, while these effects were amplified/abolished by PPARγ agonist/antagonist. Blockage of pancreatic acinar cell exosome biogenesis also exhibited suppression of alveolar macrophage activation and reduction of lung inflammation.
