1Plasmonic nano-printing: large-area nanoscale energy deposition for efficient surface texturing显示文摘The lossy nature of plasmonic wave due to absorption is shown to become an advantage for scaling-up a large area surface nanotexturing of transparent dielectrics and semiconductors by a self-organized sub-wavelength energy deposition leading to an ablation pattern—ripples—using this plasmonic nano-printing.Irreversible nanoscale modifications are delivered by surface plasmon polariton(SPP)using:(i)fast scan and(ii)cylindrical focusing of femtosecond laser pulses for a high patterning throughput.The mechanism of ripple formation on ZnS dielectric is experimentally proven to occur via surface wave at the substrate–plasma interface.The line focusing increase the ordering quality of ripples and facilitates fabrication over wafer-sized areas within a practical time span.Nanoprinting using SPP is expected to open new applications in photo-catalysis,tribology,and solar light harvesting via localized energy deposition rather scattering used in photonic and sensing applications based on re-scattering of SPP modes into far-field modes.Lei Wang Qi-Dai Chen Xiao-Wen Cao Ričardas Buividas Xuewen Wang Saulius Juodkazis Hong-Bo Sun 2017Light(Science & Applications)2017,6,1:15

3Induction of Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress by Cadmium and Its Regulation on Nrf2 Signaling Pathway in Kidneys of Rats显示文摘Objective This study was conducted to investigate the regulation of endoplasmic reticulum stress on Nrf2 signaling pathway in the kidneys of rats. Methods Rats were divided into twelve groups of six animals each. Some groups were pre-administered with bacitracin or tauroursodeoxycholic acid(TUDCA), and all of them were treated with 5-20 μmol/kg cadmium(Cd) for 48 h. The oxidative stress levels were analyzed using kits. The mRNA and protein expression levels of endoplasmic reticulum stress-related factors and Nrf2 signaling pathway-related factors were determined using RT-PCR and western blot. Results Cd exposure resulted in oxidative stress in the kidneys of rats and upregulated the expression of endoplasmic reticulum stress(ERS)-related factors and Nrf2 signaling pathway-related factors, especially at doses of 10 and 20 μmol/kg Cd, and the expression changes were particularly obvious. Moreover, after pretreatment with bacitracin, Cd upregulated the expression of ERS-related factors to a certain extent and, at higher doses, increased the mRNA expression of Nrf2. After pretreatment with TUDCA, Cd reduced the level of ERS to a certain extent; however, at these doses, there were no significant changes in the expression of Nrf2. Conclusion Cadmium can result in ERS and oxidative stress in the kidneys of rats, activate Nrf2, and upregulate the transcriptional expression of phase II detoxification enzymes under these experimental conditions. 4Self-reduction Mechanism of Coal Composite Stainless Steel Dust Hot Briquette显示文摘To efficiently recycle valuable metals such as chromium and nickel in stainless steel dust,self-reduction experiments were carried out to study the reduction mechanism of metal oxides in coal composite stainless steel dust hot briquette,which is defined as a CCSB here.Self-reduction of CCSB is proceeded by volatile matter and fixed carbon contained within CCSB.Experiments were performed to study the effects of temperature and carbon to oxygen(C/O_(Coal))ratio on self-reduction of CCSB.At 1 400 and 1 450℃,volatile matter in coal used for experiment could take the place of about 40% of fixed carbon in coal.Under the present experimental conditions,reduction product of chromium appears as FeCr_2O_4,Cr_2O_3,Cr_7C_3,and[Cr]in turn during reduction.To evaluate the formation of metal nuggets in self-reduction process of CCSB,metal nuggets containing chromium and nickel were observed in outside of reduction products under various conditions,and thermodynamic equilibrium calculation was carried out for possible products and formation of molten metal by fixed carbon.SEM and EDS analyses were made for metal nugget and slag in reduced product.The results reveal that it is reasonable to achieve the metal nuggets at 1 450 ℃,0.8 of C/OCoalratio and 20 min of reduction time.The nugget formation can indicate one innovative process for comprehensive utilization of stainless steel dust.Sok-chol RI Man-sheng CHU Shuang-yin CHEN Zheng-gen LIU Hun HONG 2016Journal of Iron and Steel Research(International)2016,23,4:6
5High areal capacitance of Fe3O4-decorated carbon nanotubes for supercapacitor electrodes显示文摘A conceptually new approach has been developed for the fabrication of magnetite(Fe3O4)-decorated carbon nanotubes(M-CNTs)for negative electrodes of electrochemical supercapacitors.M-CNTs were prepared by an ultrasonic-assisted chemical synthesis method,which involved dispersion of functionalized CNTs in water,Fe3O4 formation on the CNTs surface,and particle extraction through liquid-liquid interface(PELLI).Palmitic acid was found to be an efficient new extractor for PELLI.The slurries produced after drying and redispersing M-CNTs and slurries obtained using PELLI were used for electrode fabrication.The electrodes prepared using PELLI showed superior performance due to reduced particle agglomeration.Testing results provided an insight into the influence of Fe3O4/CNTs mass ratio on the capacitance and capacitance retention at high charge-discharge rates.A capacitance of 5.82 F cm−2(145.4 F g−1)was achieved in Na2SO4 electrolyte using electrodes with high active mass of 40 mg cm−2 and ratio of active mass to current collector mass of 0.6.Good electrochemical performance was achieved at low impedance.The capacitance of the negative M-CNTs electrodes was comparable with capacitance of advanced positive MnO2-CNTs electrodes,which was beneficial for the fabrication of asymmetric devices.The asymmetric device has been fabricated,which showed promising performance in a voltage window of 1.6 V.Mohamed Nawwar Ryan Poon Ri Chen Rakesh PSahu Ishwar KPuri Igor Zhitomirsky 2019Carbon Energy2019,1,1:5
6Preparation of CS-CMC Bipolar Membrane and its Application in Electro-generated FeO_4^(2-)显示文摘CS-CMC bipolar membrane was prepared and the cross-section photograph of CS-CMC BM was observed by SEM. FT-IR spectrum indicated that CS-CMC BM contained -N=CRH2+ and -COO- functional groups. The charge density of -N=CRH2+ in CS membrane was about 14.13 mmol/g and the charge density of -COO- in CMC membrane was about 9.01 mmol/g. The electrochemistry properties of CS-CMC BM were also studied. 7A Facial Expression Emotion Recognition Based Human-robot Interaction System显示文摘A facial expression emotion recognition based human-robot interaction(FEER-HRI) system is proposed, for which a four-layer system framework is designed. The FEERHRI system enables the robots not only to recognize human emotions, but also to generate facial expression for adapting to human emotions. A facial emotion recognition method based on2D-Gabor, uniform local binary pattern(LBP) operator, and multiclass extreme learning machine(ELM) classifier is presented,which is applied to real-time facial expression recognition for robots. Facial expressions of robots are represented by simple cartoon symbols and displayed by a LED screen equipped in the robots, which can be easily understood by human. Four scenarios,i.e., guiding, entertainment, home service and scene simulation are performed in the human-robot interaction experiment, in which smooth communication is realized by facial expression recognition of humans and facial expression generation of robots within 2 seconds.
