| 1 | Role of Helicobacter pylori infection on nutrition and metabolism显示文摘Helicobacter pylori(H. pylori) is a gram-negative pathogen that is widespread all over the world, infecting more than 50% of the world's population. It is etiologically associated with non-atrophic and atrophic gastritis, peptic ulcer and shows a deep association with primary gastric B-cell lymphoma and gastric adenocarcinoma. Recently, the medical research focused on the modification of the gastric environment induced by H. pylori infection, possibly affecting the absorption of nutrients and drugs as well as the production of hormones strongly implicated in the regulation of appetite and growth. Interestingly, the absorption of iron and vitamin B12 is impaired by H. pylori infection, while infected subjects have lower basal and fasting serum levels of ghrelin and higher concentration of leptin compared to controls. Since leptin is an anorexigenic hormone, and ghrelin stimulates powerfully the release of growth hormone in humans, H. pylori infection may finally induce growth retardation if acquired very early in the childhood and in malnourished children. | 2 | Culture-guided treatment approach for Helicobacter pylori infection:Review of the literature显示文摘The progressive loss of efficacy of standard eradication therapies has made the treatment of Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori)more challenging than ever.Endoscopicguided antibiotic susceptibility testing had previously been suggested to guide treatment after failure of second-line therapies.However,its role has expanded over the years,in accordance with the current Maastricht Guidelines.Several authors have dealt with this topic,developing both efficacy trials and cost-effectiveness trials against resistant H.pylori infections as well as infections in nave patients.However,results are not homogeneous enough to provide definite advice,because antibiotic resistance is not the only reason for treatment failure.Moreover,the culture-guided approach is surrounded by many practical issues,such as the availability of both endoscopy units and microbiology laboratories,and the need for a standard of quality that cannot be satisfied everywhere.Finally,pre-treatment susceptibility testing should be partand not the only weapon-of a targeted,personalized strategy to overcome H.pylori infection. | Giovanni Cammarota Gianluca Ianiro Stefano Bibbò Teresa Antonella Di Rienzo Luca Masucci Maurizio Sanguinetti Antonio Gasbarrini | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014，20，18： | 3 |
| 3 | Microarray analysis in gastric cancer:A review显示文摘Gastric cancer is one of the most common tumors worldwide.Although several treatment options have been developed,the mortality rate is increasing.Lymph node involvement is considered the most reliable prognostic indicator in gastric cancer.Early diagnosis improves the survival rate of patients and increases the likelihood of successful treatment.The most reliable diagnostic method is endoscopic examination,however,it is expensive and not feasible in poorer countries.Therefore,many innovative techniques have been studied to develop a new non-invasive screening test and to identify specific serum biomarkers.DNA microarray analysis is one of the new technologies able to measure the expression levels of a large number of genes simultaneously.It is possible to define the gene expression profile of the tumor and to correlate it with the prognosis and metastasis formation.Several studies in the literature have been published on the role of microarray analysis in gastric cancer and the mechanisms of proliferation and metastasis formation.The aim of this review is to analyze the importance of microarray analysis and its clinical applications to better define the genetic characteristics of gastric cancer and its possible implications in a more decisive treatment. | Giovanna D'Angelo Teresa Di Rienzo Veronica Ojetti | 2014 | World Journal of Gastroenterology2014，20，34： | 2 |
| 4 | Functional conservation of the grapevine candidate gene INNER NO OUTER for ovule development and seed formation显示文摘Seedlessness represents a highly appreciated trait in table grapes.Based on an interesting case of seedless fruit production described in the crop species Annona squamosa,we focused on the Vitis vinifera INNER NO OUTER(INO)gene as a candidate.This gene encodes a transcription factor belonging to the YABBY family involved in the determination of abaxial identity in several organs.In Arabidopsis thaliana,this gene was shown to be essential for the formation and asymmetric growth of the ovule outer integument and its mutation leads to a phenotypic defect of ovules and failure in seed formation.In this study,we identified in silico the V.vinifera orthologue and investigated its phylogenetic relationship to INO genes from other species and its expression in different organs in seeded and seedless varieties.Applying cross-species complementation,we have tested its functionality in the Arabidopsis ino-1 mutant.We show that the V.vinifera INO successfully rescues the ovule outer integument growth and seeds set and also partially complements the outer integument asymmetric growth in the Arabidopsis mutant,differently from orthologues from other species.These data demonstrate that VviINO retains similar activity and protein targets in grapevine as in Arabidopsis.Potential implications for grapevine breeding are discussed. | Valentina di Rienzo Zahra Imanifard Isabella Mascio Charles SGasser Debra JSkinner Ciro Leonardo Pierri Martina Marini Valentina Fanelli Wilma Sabetta Cinzia Montemurro Diana Bellin | 2021 | Horticulture Research2021，8，1： | 2 |
