1A Survey of 16 Rare Earth Elements in the Major Foods in China显示文摘Objective The aim of this survey was to inves gate the level of contamina on of the most consumed foods in China with 16 rare earth elements (REEs),and to provide the basic data for establishing and revising food safety standards for REEs.Methods Sixteen REEs in foods were measured by induc vely coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) in the labs of the Centers for Disease Control and Preven on of four provinces and two municipali es,during 2009-2010.Results 1 231 samples were analyzed and 19 121 concentra on data of 16 REEs were collected.The REEs levels in the inves gated foods varied significantly.The concentra ons of cerium (Ce),dysprosium (Dy),y rium (Y),lanthanum (La),and neodymium (Nd) were rela vely high,while the remaining eleven REEs were at low levels.The mean values of total rare earth element oxides (REOs) in cereals,fresh vegetables,fresh aqua c products,fresh meats and eggs varied from 0.052 mg/kg to 0.337 mg/kg.Conclusion 16 REEs in the major foods were at very low contamina on levels in the inves gated regions.JIANG Ding Guo YANG Jie ZHANG Shuo YANG Da Jin 2012Biomedical and Environmental Sciences2012,25,3:28

4Ammonium removal pathways and microbial community in GAC-sand dual media filter in drinking water treatment显示文摘A GAC-sand dual media filter(GSF) was devised as an alternative solution for drinking water treatment plant to tackle the raw water polluted by ammonium in place of expensive ozone-GAC processes or bio-pretreatments.The ammonium removal pathways and microbial community in the GSFs were investigated.The concentrations of ammonium,nitrite and nitrate nitrogen were monitored along the filter.Total inorganic nitrogen(TIN) loss occurred during the filtration.For 1 mg ammonium removal,the TIN loss was as high as 0.35 mg,DO consumption was 3.06 mg,and alkalinity consumption was 5.55 mg.It was assumed that both nitrification and denitrification processes occur in the filters to fit the TIN loss and low DO consumption.During the filtration,nitritation,nitrification and nitritation-anaerobic ammonium oxidation processes probably occur,while traditional nitrification and denitrification and simultaneous nitrification and denitrification processes may occur.In the GSFs,Nitrosomonas and Nitrospira are likely to be involved in nitrification processes,while Novosphingobium,Comamonadaceae and Oxalobacteraceae may be involved in denitrification processes.Shuo Feng Shuguang Xie Xiaojian Zhang Zhiyu Yang Wei Ding Xiaobin Liao Yuanyuan Liu Chao Chen 2012Journal of Environmental Sciences2012,24,9:14
5Deep neural network-assisted computed tomography diagnosis of metastatic lymph nodes from gastric cancer显示文摘Background:Artificial intelligence-assisted image recognition technology is currently able to detect the target area of an image and fetch information to make classifications according to target features.This study aimed to use deep neural netAVorks for computed tomography(CT)diagnosis of perigastric metastatic lymph nodes(PGMLNs)to simulate the recognition of lymph nodes by radiologists,and to acquire more accurate identification results.Methods:A total of 1371 images of suspected lymph node metastasis from enhanced abdominal CT scans were identified and labeled by radiologists and were used with 18,780 original images for faster region-based convolutional neural networks(FR-CNN)deep learning.The identification results of 6000 random CT images from 100 gastric cancer patients by the FR-CNN were compared with results obtained from radiologists in terms of their identification accuracy.Similarly,1004 CT images with metastatic lymph nodes that had been post-operatively confirmed by pathological examination and 11,340 original images were used in the identification and learning processes described above.The same 6000 gastric cancer CT images were used for the verification,according to which the diagnosis results were analyzed.Results:In the initial group,precision-recall curves were generated based on the precision rates,the recall rates of nodule classes of the training set and the validation set;the mean average precision(mAP)value was 0.5019.To verify the results of the initial learning group,the receiver operating characteristic curves was generated,and the corresponding area under the curve(AUC)value was calculated as 0.8995.After the second phase of precise learning,all the indicators were improved,and the mAP and AUC values were 0.7801 and 0.9541,respectively.Conclusion:Through deep learning,FR-CNN achieved high judgment effectiveness and recognition accuracy for CT diagnosis of PGMLNs.Yuan Gao Zheng-Dong Zhang Shuo Li Yu-Ting Guo Qing-Yao Wu Shu-Hao Liu Shu-Jian Yang Lei Ding Bao-Chun Zhao Shuai Li Yun Lu 2019Chinese Medical Journal2019,,23:11
6Defined tumor antigen-specific T cells potentiate personalized TCR-T cell therapy and prediction of immunotherapy response显示文摘Personalized immunotherapy targeting tumor-specific antigens(TSAs)could generate efficient and safe antitumor immune response without damaging normal tissues.Although neoantigen vaccines have shown therapeutic effect in clinic trials,precise prediction of neoantigens from tumor mutations is still challenging.The host antitumor immune response selects and activates T cells recognizing tumor antigens.Hence,T cells engineered with T-cell receptors(TCRs)from these naturally occurring tumor antigen-specific T(Tas)cells in a patient will target personal TSAs in his/her tumor.To establish such a personalized TCR-T cell therapy,we comprehensively characterized T cells in tumor and its adjacent tissues by single-cell mRNA sequencing(scRNA-seq),TCR sequencing(TCR-seq)and in vitro neoantigen stimulation.Compared to bystander T cells circulating among tissues,Tas cells were characterized by tumor enrichment,tumor-specific clonal expansion and neoantigen specificity.We found that CXCL13 is a unique marker for both CD4^(+)and CD8^(+)Tas cells.Importantly,TCR-T cells expressing TCRs from Tas cells showed significant therapeutic effects on autologous patient-derived xenograft(PDX)tumors.Intratumoral Tas cell levels measured by CXCL13 expression precisely predicted the response to immune checkpoint blockade,indicating a critical role of Tas cells in the antitumor immunity.We further identified CD200 and ENTPD1 as surface markers for CD4^(^(+))and CD8^(^(+))Tas cells respectively,which enabled the isolation of Tas cells from tumor by Fluorescence Activating Cell Sorter(FACS)sorting.Overall,our results suggest that TCR-T cells engineered with Tas TCRs are a promising agent for personalized immunotherapy,and intratumoral Tas cell levels determine the response to immunotherapy.Jingjing He Xinxin Xiong Han Yang Dandan Li Xuefei Liu Shuo Li Shuangye Liao Siyu Chen Xizhi Wen Kuai Yu Lingyi Fu Xingjun Dong Kaiyu Zhu Xiaojun Xia Tiebang Kang Chaochao Bian Xiang Li Haiping Liu Peirong Ding Xiaoshi Zhang Zhenjiang Liu Wende Li Zhixiang Zuo Penghui Zhou 2022Cell Research2022,32,6:10

8Tetramethylpyrazine prevents liver fibrotic injury in mice by targeting hepatocyte-derived and mitochondrial DNA-enriched extracellular vesicles显示文摘Liver fibrosis is the common consequence of almost all liver diseases and has become an urgent clinical problem without efficient therapies.Recent evidence has shown that hepatocytes-derived extracellular vesicles(EVs)play important roles in liver pathophysiology,but little is known about the role of damaged hepatocytes-derived EVs in hepatic stellate cell(HSC)activation and following fibrosis.Tetramethylpyrazine(TMP)from Ligusticum wallichii Franchat exhibits a broad spectrum of biological activities including liver protection.In this study,we investigated whether TMP exerted liver-protective action through regulating EV-dependent intercellular communication between hepatocytes and HSCs.Chronic liver injury was induced in mice by CCl_(4)(1.6 mg/kg,i.g.)twice a week for 8 weeks.In the last 4 weeks of CCl_(4) administration,mice were given TMP(40,80,160 mg·kg^(-1)·d^(-1),i.g.).Acute liver injury was induced in mice by injection of a single dose of CCl_(4)(0.8 mg/kg,i.p.).After injection,mice were treated with TMP(80 mg/kg)every 24 h.We showed that TMP treatment dramatically ameliorated CCl_(4)-induced oxidative stress and hepatic inflammation as well as acute or chronic liver fibrosis.In cultured mouse primary hepatocytes(MPHs),treatment with CCl_(4) or acetaminophen resulted in mitochondrial dysfunction,release of mitochondrial DNA(mtDNA)from injured hepatocytes to adjacent hepatocytes and HSCs through EVs,mediating hepatocyte damage and fibrogenic responses in activated HSCs;pretreatment of MPHs with TMP(25μM)prevented all these pathological effects.Transplanted serum EVs from TMP-treated mice prevented both initiation and progression of liver fibrosis caused by CCl_(4).Taken together,this study unravels the complex mechanisms underlying the protective effects of TMP against mtDNA-containing EV-mediated hepatocyte injury and HSC activation during liver injury,and provides critical evidence inspiring the development of TMP-based innovative therapeutic agents for the treatment of liver fibrosis.Ya-jing Li Run-ping Liu Ming-ning Ding Qi Zheng Jian-zhi Wu Xiao-yong Xue Yi-qing Gu Bo-ning Ma Ya-jie Cai Shuo Li Sheng Lin Lu-yong Zhang Xiaojiaoyang Li 2022Acta Pharmacologica Sinica2022,43,8:5
9Serum microRNA-204 levels are associated with long-term cardiovascular disease risk based on the Framingham risk score in patients with type 2 diabetes: results from an observational study显示文摘Background Previous studies have demonstrated that micro RNA-204(mi R-204) is involved in atherosclerosis and vascular calcification. However, the value of mi R-204 as the predictive biomarker for cardiovascular disease(CVD) remains unclear. We aimed to evaluate the association between the circulating mi R-204 level and ten-year CVD risk based on the Framingham risk score(FRS). Methods In this retrospective study, we enrolled 194 consecutive patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) without CVD in Beijing Anzhen Hospital between January 2015 and September 2016. We used the FRS to evaluate the risk of CVD for each patient. Circulating mi R-204 levels were measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Results Circulating mi R-204 levels were significantly lower in the group of patients(0.49 ± 0.13) at high risk of CVD(FRS > 20%) than in the low(FRS < 10%) and intermediate(FRS: 10%–20%) risk groups(0.87 ± 0.19 and 0.75 ± 0.25, respectively;P < 0.001). FRS was negatively correlated with mi R-204 levels(r =-0.421, P < 0.001). According to multivariate logistic analyses, reduced mi R-204 level was independently associated with an increased risk of CVD after adjusting for conventional risk factors(OR = 0.876, 95% CI: 0.807–0.950, P = 0.001). Receiver-operating characteristic curve analysis showed that the circulating mi R-204 level can predict the high risk of CVD with higher specificity than the traditional risk factor of high systolic blood pressure or the protective factor of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol. Conclusions Our study demonstrated that patients with lower circulating mi R-204 levels were at high risk for CVD. 11A potential red-emitting phosphor Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):Eu^(3+):Luminescence properties,thermal stability and applications for white LEDs显示文摘A novel red-emitting phosphor tantalate Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):Eu^(3+)was synthesized by a solid-state reaction.The purity and surface morphology of the phosphors were characterized.The Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):Eu^(3+)phosphors show a sharp emission peak at 612 nm under near-ultraviolet(n-UV) at 395 nm because of the ^(5)D0→^(7)F_(2) transition of Eu^(3+).The optimal Eu^(3+)doping concentration in Ca_(2)YTaO_(6) is 40 mol% and the critical energy-transfer distance of Eu^(3+)ions was calculated to be 0.9 nm.The emission spectra of Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):Eu_(3+)from 300 to 480 K were investigated.The thermal-quenching temperature(T_(0.5)) of Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):Eu^(3+)is above 480 K.The color purity of Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):40 mol%Eu^(3+)is as high as 99.8%.The luminescence lifetime of Ca_(2)YTaO_(6):40 mol%Eu^(3+)was also discussed.The high color purity and high thermal stability of Eu^(3+)-doped Ca_(2)YTaO_(6) phosphors contribute to its application value in white lightemitting diodes(w-LEDs).Ka Ding Siru A Shuo Pang Leyan Shan Yaqi Zhang Pengfei Sun Bin Deng Ruijin Yu 2021Journal of Rare Earths2021,39,7:4

16Associations of early-life factors and indoor environmental exposure with asthma among children:a case-control study in Chongqing,China显示文摘Background Childhood asthma has substantial effects on children’s health.It is important to identify influencing factors in early life in the development of childhood asthma.We aim to evaluate the effects of early-life factors and indoor environmental exposure on childhood asthma in Chongqing,China.Method We designed a case-control study to enrol children with asthma aged 3 to<14 years old and controls in Chongqing,China.The“Children’s Early Life and Indoor Environment Survey”was used to collect the early-life factors and indoor environmental exposure of foetuses in utero and of infants during the first 3 years of life.A multivariate logistic regression model was used to evaluate the association between independent variables and childhood asthma and the interaction of early-life factors and environmental exposure.Results A total of 160 asthma cases and 247 controls were included in this study.The mean ages of the cases and controls were 5.53±1.88 and 5.72±2.34 years,respectively(P=0.192).Early-life factors and indoor environmental exposure were independently associated with childhood asthma.Infectious diseases of the respiratory system in children under 3 years old[adjusted odds ratio(OR)=5.76,95%confidence interval(CI)2.49-13.30],bedroom air conditioner use(adjusted OR=4.61,95%CI 1.45-14.64),and bedroom dampness/mould(adjusted OR=2.98,95%CI 1.54-5.75)ranked as the three most significant exposures associated with the risk of childhood asthma.Other factors associated with an increased risk of childhood asthma included second-hand smoke exposure in early life(adjusted OR=1.93,95%CI 1.24-3.00),neonatal pneumonia(adjusted OR=1.90,95%CI 1.05-3.42)and maternal allergic diseases during pregnancy(adjusted OR=2.13,95%CI 1.10-4.10).The interaction effects of child second-hand smoke exposure with other covariates were not found to be statistically significant.Conclusions Early-life factors and indoor environmental exposure are closely related to childhood asthma in Chongqing,China.Further interventions and management in the early life of children should be considered to prevent and control childhood asthma in Chongqing and similar cities.Yun-Tian Deng Xue-Mei Li En-Mei Liu Wen-Kui Xiong Shuo Wang Rui Zhu Yu-Bin Ding Zhao-Hui Zhong 2022World Journal of Pediatrics2022,18,3:2
17Campus Bus Network Design and Evaluation Based on the Route Property显示文摘A campus bus network design and evaluation,taking Tsinghua University as an example,is investigated in this paper.To minimize the total cost for both passengers and operator,the campus bus system planning in a sequential approach is discussed,including the route network design,headway(i.e.,the inverse of service frequency) optimization,and system evaluation.The improved genetic algorithm is proposed to optimize the route network based on the route property,and the impacts of the fluctuation of passenger demand and average traveling time are analyzed.The identity proportion in the headway optimization is then introduced with full consideration of its impacts.Based on the actual variety of passenger demand,a non-fixed schedule demonstrates its efficiency.VISSIM is finally adopted to simulate the campus bus system and a comprehensive evaluation system for the campus bus is developed.Compared with the current bus network and the one without considering the route property,the evaluation of the proposed approach shows an improvement of 18.7% and 10.1%,respectively.Moreover,the sequential approach shows an efficiency improvement over the alternative method.It is of great significance for the development of public transit systems in large industrial parks to decrease the total cost for both passengers and operator.Jishiyu Ding Shuo Feng Li Li Yi Zhang 2017Tsinghua Science and Technology2017,22,5:1

19The antigenicity of SARS-CoV-2 Delta variants aggregated 10 high-frequency mutations in RBD has not changed sufficiently to replace the current vaccine strain显示文摘Emerging SARS-CoV-2 variants are the most serious problem for COVID-19 prophylaxis and treatment.To determine whether the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine strain should be updated following variant emergence like seasonal flu vaccine,the changed degree on antigenicity of SARS-CoV-2 variants and H3N2 flu vaccine strains was compared.The neutralization activities of Alpha,Beta and Gamma variants’spike protein-immunized sera were analysed against the eight current epidemic variants and 20 possible variants combining the top 10 prevalent RBD mutations based on the Delta variant,which were constructed using pseudotyped viruses.Meanwhile,the neutralization activities of convalescent sera and current inactivated and recombinant protein vaccine-elicited sera were also examined against all possible Delta variants.Eight HA protein-expressing DNAs elicited-animal sera were also tested against eight pseudotyped viruses of H3N2 flu vaccine strains from 2011–2019.Our results indicate that the antigenicity changes of possible Delta variants were mostly within four folds,whereas the antigenicity changes among different H3N2 vaccine strains were approximately 10–100-fold.Structural analysis of the antigenic characterization of the SARS-CoV-2 and H3N2 mutations supports the neutralization results.This study indicates that the antigenicity changes of the current SARS-CoV-2 may not be sufficient to require replacement of the current vaccine strain.Jiajing Wu Jianhui Nie Li Zhang Hao Song Yimeng An Ziteng Liang Jing Yang Ruxia Ding Shuo Liu Qianqian Li Tao Li Zhimin Cui Mengyi Zhang Peng He Youchun Wang Xiaowang Qu Zhongyu Hu Qihui Wang Weijin Huang 2022Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2022,7,2:1
20Study on the surface-modification of nano-hydroxyapatite with lignin and the corresponding nanocomposite with poly (lactide-co-glycolide)显示文摘To obtain nano-hydroxyapatite/poly(lactideco-glycolide)(n-HA/PLGA)nanocomposite with superior mechanical properties,here,lignin was chosen to surfacemodify for n-HA through co-precipitation method.The different reaction conditions of reaction time,phosphorus source,and the lignin addition amount were studied by fourier transformation infrared spectra,X-ray diffraction,the intuitionistic dispersion experiment,transmission electron microscope and thermal gravimetric analysis.The reaction mechanism and the best appropriate reaction condition were obtained.More importantly,the results of electromechanical universal tester,scanning electron microscope,differential scanning calorimetric analyzer,polarized optical microscopy and dynamic mechanical analysis confirmed that the obtained n-HA could greatly increase the mechanical strength of PLGA,owing to the excellent dispersion and promotion crystallization effect.Moreover,in vitro cell culture experimental results indicated that the n-HA surface-modified by lignin was favorable to improve the cell biocompatibility of PLGA.The study suggested that the introduction of lignin was a novel method to acquire a highly dispersed n-HA,which would provide a new idea to achieve the n-HA/PLGA nanocomposite as bone materials in future,and it would pave the way towards a new application of lignin in biomedical field.Haojie Ding Liuyun Jiang Chunyan Tang Shuo Tang Bingli Ma Na Zhang Yue Wen Yan Zhang Liping Sheng Shengpei Su Xiang Hu 2021Frontiers of Chemical Science and Engineering2021,15,3:1
