1Experimental study on antitumor effect of arsenic trioxide in combination with cisplatin or doxorubicin on hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘INTRODUCTIONThe main component of a traditional Chinese drug 'Pishuang'. arsenic trioxide (As2O3), has obviously selective anti-tumor effect on human hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC)in both in vitro and in vivo studies[1-5]. Due to limited effectiveness when any anti-carcinogen is used alone and obviously increased toxicity when the dose is raised, there is no exception for As2O3. Furthermore, combined chemotherapy contributes to improve therapeutic effectiveness, disperse toxicity and surmount drug-resistance,in which the combination of traditional Chinese and modern medicine has more advantages and characteristics. 2Circulation anomalies associated with interannual variation of early- and late-summer precipitation in Northeast China显示文摘Summer rainfall is vital for crops in Northeast China. In this study, we investigated large-scale circulation anomalies related to monthly summer rainfall in Northeast China using European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecast ERA-40 reanalysis data and monthly rainfall data from 79 stations in Northeast China. The results show that the interannual variation in rainfall over Northeast China is mainly dominated by a cold vortex in early summer (May-June) and by the East Asian summer monsoon in late summer (July-August). In early summer, corresponding to increased rainfall in Northeast China, an anomalous cyclonic anomaly tilted westward with height appears to the northwest and cold vortices occur frequently. In late summer, the rainfall anomaly is mainly controlled by a northward shift of the local East Asian jet stream in the upper troposphere and the northwest extension of the western Pacific subtropical high (WPSH) in the lower troposphere. The enhanced southwesterly anomaly in the west of the WPSH transports more moisture into Northeast China and results in more rainfall. 3Using the curve moment and the PSO-SVM method to diagnose downhole conditions of a sucker rod pumping unit显示文摘Downhole working conditions of sucker rod pumping wells are automatically identified on a computer from the analysis of dynamometer cards. In this process, extraction of feature parameters and pattern classification are two key steps. The dynamometer card is firstly divided into four parts which include different production information according to the 'four point method' used in actual oilfield production, and then the moment invariants for pattern recognition are extracted. An improved support vector machine (SVM) method is used for pattern classification whose error penalty parameter C and kernel function parameter g are optimally chosen by the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm. 4Diagnosis and treatment of congenital choledochal cyst: 20 years' experience in China显示文摘AIM To summarize the experience of diagnosis and treatment of congenital choledochal cyst in the past 20years ( 1980 2000).``METHODS The clinical data of 108 patients admitted from 1980 to 2000 were analyzed retrospectively.RESULTS Abdominal pain, jaundice and abdominal mass were presented in most child cases. Clinical symptoms in adult cases were non-specific, resulting in delayed diagnosis frequently. Fifty-seven patients (52.7%) had coexistent pancreatiobiliary disease. Carcinoma of the biliary duct occurred in 18 patients (16.6%). Ultrasonic examination was undertaken in 94 cases, ERCP performed in 46 cases and CT in 71 cases. All of the cases were correctly diagnosed before operation. Abnormal pancreatobiliary duct junction was found in .39 patients.Before 1985 the diagnosis and classification of congenital choledochal cyst were established by ultrasonography preoperatively and confirmed during operation, the main procedures were internal drainage by cyst enterostomy.After 1985, the diagnosis was established by ERCP and CT. and cystectomy with Roux-en-Y hepaticojejunostomy was the conventional procedures. In 1994, we reported a new and simplified operative procedure in order to reduce the risk of choledochal cyst malignancy. Postoperative complication was mainly retrograde infection of biliary tract, which could be controlled by the administration of antibiotics, there was no perioperative mortality.``CONCLUSION The concept in diagnosis and treatment of congenital choledochal cyst has obviously been changed greatly. CT and ERCP were of great help in the classification of the disease. 5Progress in wearable electronics/photonics—Moving toward the era of artificial intelligence and internet of things显示文摘The past few years have witnessed the significant impacts of wearable electronics/photonics on various aspects of our daily life,for example,healthcare monitoring and treatment,ambient monitoring,soft robotics,prosthetics,flexible display,communication,human-machine interactions,and so on.According to the development in recent years,the next-generation wearable electronics and photonics are advancing rapidly toward the era of artificial intelligence(AI)and internet of things(IoT),to achieve a higher level of comfort,convenience,connection,and intelligence.Herein,this review provides an opportune overview of the recent progress in wearable electronics,photonics,and systems,in terms of emerging materials,transducing mechanisms,structural configurations,applications,and their further integration with other technologies.First,development of general wearable electronics and photonics is summarized for the applications of physical sensing,chemical sensing,humanmachine interaction,display,communication,and so on.Then self-sustainable wearable electronics/photonics and systems are discussed based on system integration with energy harvesting and storage technologies.Next,technology fusion of wearable systems and AI is reviewed,showing the emergence and rapid development of intelligent/smart systems.In the last section of this review,perspectives about the future development trends of the next-generation wearable electronics/photonics are provided,that is,toward multifunctional,self-sustainable,and intelligent wearable systems in the AI/IoT era.Qiongfeng Shi Bowei Dong Tianyiyi He Zhongda Sun Jianxiong Zhu Zixuan Zhang Chengkuo Lee 2020InfoMat2020,2,6:17
6Predictability of the Summer East Asian Upper-Tropospheric Westerly Jet in ENSEMBLES Multi-Model Forecasts显示文摘The interannual variation of the East Asian upper-tropospheric westerly jet(EAJ) significantly affects East Asian climate in summer. Identifying its performance in model prediction may provide us another viewpoint,from the perspective of uppertropospheric circulation,to understand the predictability of summer climate anomalies in East Asia. This study presents a comprehensive assessment of year-to-year variability of the EAJ based on retrospective seasonal forecasts,initiated from1 May,in the five state-of-the-art coupled models from ENSEMBLES during 1960–2005. It is found that the coupled models show certain capability in describing the interannual meridional displacement of the EAJ,which reflects the models' performance in the first leading empirical orthogonal function(EOF) mode. This capability is mainly shown over the region south of the EAJ axis. Additionally,the models generally capture well the main features of atmospheric circulation and SST anomalies related to the interannual meridional displacement of the EAJ. Further analysis suggests that the predicted warm SST anomalies in the concurrent summer over the tropical eastern Pacific and northern Indian Ocean are the two main sources of the potential prediction skill of the southward shift of the EAJ. 7Intercomparison of the Impacts of Four Summer Teleconnections over Eurasia on East Asian Rainfall显示文摘East Asian summer climate is strongly affected by extratropical circulation disturbances. In this study, impacts of four atmospheric teleconnections over Eurasia on East Asian summer rainfall are investigated using National Centers for Environmental Prediction/National Center for Atmospheric Research(NCEP/NCAR) reanalysis data and Climatic Research Unit(CRU) land precipitation data during 1979–2009. The four teleconnections include the Scandinavian(SCA), the Polar/Eurasian(PEU), the East Atlantic/Western Russian(EAWR), and the circumglobal teleconnection(CGT). Moreover, the related changes of lower-tropospheric circulation are explored, specifically, the low pressure over northern East Asia(NEAL)and the subtropical high over the western North Pacific(WNPSH). The results presented are in the positive phase. The PEU and SCA induce significant negative anomalies in North China rainfall(NCR), while the CGT induces significant positive anomalies. In the past three decades, the PEU and SCA explain more than 20% of the variance in NCR, twice that explained by the CGT, suggesting a more important role of the former two teleconnections in NCR variation than the latter one. Meanwhile, the PEU and SCA reduce rainfall in Northeast China and South Korea, respectively, and the CGT enhances rainfall in Japan. The rainfall responses are attributed to the SCA-induced northward shift of the NEAL, and PEU-induced northward shift and weakening of the NEAL, respectively. For the CGT, the dipole pattern of rainfall anomalies between North China and Japan is affected by both westward extension of the NEAL and northwestward expansion of the WNPSH. 8Triboelectric Nanogenerators and Hybridized Systems for Enabling Next-Generation IoT Applications显示文摘In the past few years,triboelectric nanogenerator-based(TENG-based)hybrid generators and systems have experienced a widespread and flourishing development,ranging among almost every aspect of our lives,e.g.,from industry to consumer,outdoor to indoor,and wearable to implantable applications.Although TENG technology has been extensively investigated for mechanical energy harvesting,most developed TENGs still have limitations of small output current,unstable power generation,and low energy utilization rate of multisource energies.To harvest the ubiquitous/coexisted energy forms including mechanical,thermal,and solar energy simultaneously,a promising direction is to integrate TENG with other transducing mechanisms,e.g.,electromagnetic generator,piezoelectric nanogenerator,pyroelectric nanogenerator,thermoelectric generator,and solar cell,forming the hybrid generator for synergetic single-source and multisource energy harvesting.The resultant TENG-based hybrid generators utilizing integrated transducing mechanisms are able to compensate for the shortcomings of each mechanism and overcome the above limitations,toward achieving a maximum,reliable,and stable output generation.Hence,in this review,we systematically introduce the key technologies of the TENG-based hybrid generators and hybridized systems,in the aspects of operation principles,structure designs,optimization strategies,power management,and system integration.The recent progress of TENG-based hybrid generators and hybridized systems for the outdoor,indoor,wearable,and implantable applications is also provided.Lastly,we discuss our perspectives on the future development trend of hybrid generators and hybridized systems in environmental monitoring,human activity sensation,human-machine interaction,smart home,healthcare,wearables,implants,robotics,Internet of things(IoT),and many other fields.Qiongfeng Shi Zhongda Sun Zixuan Zhang Chengkuo Lee 2021Research2021,,1:7
9Deep learning-enabled triboelectric smart socks for IoT-based gait analysis and VR applications显示文摘The era of artificial intelligence and internet of things is rapidly developed by recent advances in wearable electronics.Gait reveals sensory information in daily life containing personal information,regarding identification and healthcare.Current wearable electronics of gait analysis are mainly limited by high fabrication cost,operation energy consumption,or inferior analysis methods,which barely involve machine learning or implement nonoptimal models that require massive datasets for training.Herein,we developed low-cost triboelectric intelligent socks for harvesting waste energy from low-frequency body motions to transmit wireless sensory data.The sock equipped with self-powered functionality also can be used as wearable sensors to deliver information,regarding the identity,health status,and activity of the users.To further address the issue of ineffective analysis methods,an optimized deep learning model with an end-to-end structure on the socks signals for the gait analysis is proposed,which produces a 93.54%identification accuracy of 13 participants and detects five different human activities with 96.67%accuracy.Toward practical application,we map the physical signals collected through the socks in the virtual space to establish a digital human system for sports monitoring,healthcare,identification,and future smart home applications.Zixuan Zhang Tianyiyi He Minglu Zhu Zhongda Sun Qiongfeng Shi Jianxiong Zhu Bowei Dong Mehmet Rasit Yuce Chengkuo Lee 2020npj Flexible Electronics2020,4,1:4
10Improving Multi-model Ensemble Probabilistic Prediction of Yangtze River Valley Summer Rainfall显示文摘Seasonal prediction of summer rainfall over the Yangtze River valley(YRV) is valuable for agricultural and industrial production and freshwater resource management in China, but remains a major challenge. Earlier multi-model ensemble(MME) prediction schemes for summer rainfall over China focus on single-value prediction, which cannot provide the necessary uncertainty information, while commonly-used ensemble schemes for probability density function(PDF) prediction are not adapted to YRV summer rainfall prediction. In the present study, an MME PDF prediction scheme is proposed based on the ENSEMBLES hindcasts. It is similar to the earlier Bayesian ensemble prediction scheme, but with optimization of ensemble members and a revision of the variance modeling of the likelihood function. The optimized ensemble members are regressed YRV summer rainfall with factors selected from model outputs of synchronous 500-h Pa geopotential height as predictors. The revised variance modeling of the likelihood function is a simple linear regression with ensemble spread as the predictor. The cross-validation skill of 1960–2002 YRV summer rainfall prediction shows that the new scheme produces a skillful PDF prediction, and is much better-calibrated, sharper, and more accurate than the earlier Bayesian ensemble and raw ensemble.LI Fang LIN Zhongda 2015Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2015,32,4:4
11Network traffic prediction method based on improved ABC algorithm optimized EM-ELM显示文摘In order to overcome the poor generalization ability and low accuracy of traditional network traffic prediction methods,a prediction method based on improved artificial bee colony( ABC) algorithm optimized error minimized extreme learning machine( EM-ELM) is proposed. EM-ELM has good generalization ability. But many useless neurons in EM-ELM have little influences on the final network output,and reduce the efficiency of the algorithm.Based on the EM-ELM,an improved ABC algorithm is introduced to optimize the parameters of the hidden layer nodes,decrease the number of useless neurons. Network complexity is reduced. The efficiency of the algorithm is improved. The stability and convergence property of the proposed prediction method are proved. The proposed prediction method is used in the prediction of network traffic. In the simulation,the actual collected network traffic is used as the research object. Compared with other prediction methods,the simulation results show that the proposed prediction method reduces the training time of the prediction model,decreases the number of hidden layer nodes. The proposed prediction method has higher prediction accuracy and reliable performance. 12Preparation and Microstructure of a Si-Mo Fused Slurry Coating on Carbon/Carbon Composites for Oxidation Protection显示文摘A coating of composition Si-40Mo (wt pct) was prepared by fused slurry coating method on the two-dimensional carbon/carbon (2D-C/C) composite to improve oxidation resistance. In the procedure of the fabrication, pure St slurry inner layer in the pre-coating was necessary to apply because of infiltration of liquid Si into the substrate during the sintering. The coating consists of Si continuous phase and MoSi2 particles. In addition, the infiltration of Si into the substrate and the SiC reaction layer between the coating and the C/C composite were observed. Oxidation behavior of coated and uncoated C/C composites was studied in cyclic mode. 13Revisiting the Second EOF Mode of Interannual Variation in Summer Rainfall over East China显示文摘The second EOF(EOF2) mode of interannual variation in summer rainfall over East China is characterized by inverse rainfall changes between South China(SC) and the Yellow River-Huaihe River valleys(YH).However,understanding of the EOF2 mode is still limited.In this study,the authors identify that the EOF2 mode physically depicts the latitudinal variation of the climatological summer-mean rainy belt along the Yangtze River valley(YRRB),based on a 160-station rainfall dataset in China for the period 1951-2011.The latitudinal variation of the YRRB is mostly attributed to two different rainfall patterns:one reflects the seesaw(SS) rainfall changes between the YH and SC(SS pattern),and the other features rainfall anomalies concentrated in SC only(SC pattern).Corresponding to a southward shift of the YRRB,the SS pattern,with above-normal rainfall in SC and below-normal rainfall in the YH,is related to a cyclonic anomaly centered over the SC-East China Sea region,with a northerly anomaly blowing from the YH to SC;while the SC pattern,with above-normal rainfall in SC,is related to an anticyclonic anomaly over the western North Pacific(WNP),corresponding to an enhanced southwest monsoon over SC.The cyclonic anomaly,related to the SS pattern,is induced by a near-barotropic eastward propagating wave train along the Asian upper-tropospheric westerly jet,originating from the mid-high latitudes of the North Atlantic.The anticyclonic anomaly,for the SC pattern,is related to suppressed rainfall in the WNP.Zhongda LIN Qin SU Riyu LU 2016Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2016,33,1:3

15Intermodel Diversity in the Zonal Location of the Climatological East Asian Westerly Jet Core in Summer and Association with Rainfall over East Asia in CMIP5 Models显示文摘The East Asian westerly jet(EAJ), an important midlatitude circulation of the East Asian summer monsoon system,plays a crucial role in affecting summer rainfall over East Asia. The multimodel ensemble of current coupled models can generally capture the intensity and location of the climatological summer EAJ. However, individual models still exhibit large discrepancies. This study investigates the intermodel diversity in the longitudinal location of the simulated summer EAJ climatology in the present-day climate and its implications for rainfall over East Asia based on 20 CMIP5 models. The results show that the zonal location of the simulated EAJ core is located over either the midlatitude Asian continent or the western North Pacific(WNP) in different models. The zonal shift of the EAJ core depicts a major intermodel diversity of the simulated EAJ climatology. The westward retreat of the EAJ core is related to a warmer mid–upper tropospheric temperature in the midlatitudes, with a southwest–northeast tilt extending from Southwest Asia to Northeast Asia and the northern North Pacific, induced partially by the simulated stronger rainfall climatology over South Asia. 16Simulated Relationship between Wintertime ENSO and East Asian Summer Rainfall: From CMIP3 to CMIP6显示文摘El Niño-Southern Oscillation(ENSO)events have a strong influence on East Asian summer rainfall(EASR).This paper investigates the simulated ENSO-EASR relationship in CMIP6 models and compares the results with those in CMIP3 and CMIP5 models.In general,the CMIP6 models show almost no appreciable progress in representing the ENSO-EASR relationship compared with the CMIP5 models.The correlation coefficients in the CMIP6 models are relatively smaller and exhibit a slightly greater intermodel diversity than those in the CMIP5 models.Three physical processes related to the delayed effect of ENSO on EASR are further analyzed.Results show that,firstly,the relationships between ENSO and the tropical Indian Ocean(TIO)sea surface temperature(SST)in the CMIP6 models are more realistic,stronger,and have less intermodel diversity than those in the CMIP3 and CMIP5 models.Secondly,the teleconnections between the TIO SST and Philippine Sea convection(PSC)in the CMIP6 models are almost the same as those in the CMIP5 models,and stronger than those in the CMIP3 models.Finally,the CMIP3,CMIP5,and CMIP6 models exhibit essentially identical capabilities in representing the PSC-EASR relationship.Almost all the three generations of models underestimate the ENSO-EASR,TIO SST-PSC,and PSC-EASR relationships.Moreover,almost all the CMIP6 models that successfully capture the significant TIO SST-PSC relationship realistically simulate the ENSO-EASR relationship and vice versa,which is,however,not the case in the CMIP5 models.Yuanhai FU Zhongda LIN Tao WANG 2021Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2021,38,2:3
17Lipopolysaccharide decreasing albumin expression in rat hepatocytes显示文摘The relations of the severity of hypoalbu-minemia to morbidity and mortality of patients with critical illness illustrate the need for better understanding of molecular mechanism of hypoalbuminemia. This study was undertaken to investigate the response of albumin synthesis to lipopolysaccharide(LPS)in rat hepatocytes in vitro in early acute phase of sepsis. METHODS:Hepatocytes were cultured at an initial cell density of 1.5×106 cells/well in 3 ml culture medium. There were two groups of samples which received either normal saline or 1 μg/L LPS randomly. Albumin mRNA in hepatocytes was assessed by reverse transcription-poly-merase chain reaction(RT-PCR) and albumin level in the supernatant was measured by ELISA at 0,2,8,12,24 hours after exposure. Meanwhile, the albumin precursor was evaluated at the same time points by flow cytometry. RESULTS:The quantitative changes of mRNA, albumin precursor and its protein were analogous. All of them tended to decline at 12 hours post-treatment and did not decrease significantly until 24 hours after LPS exposure. Meanwhile, albumin mRNA decreased about 30% and the levels of albumin precursor and albumin reduced approximately 50%. CONCLUSIONS: LPS can inhibit albumin synthesis in rat hepatocytes by prevention of albumin transcription. Moreover, the response of hepatic albumin synthesis to LPS changes with the stage of sepsis process. 19Finite-time non-fragile filtering for nonlinear networked control systems via a mixed time/event-triggered transmission mechanism显示文摘This paper is aimed at investigating the problem of mixed time/event-triggered finite-time non-fragile filtering for nonlinear networked control systems with delay.First,a fuzzy nonlinear networked control system model is established by interval type-2(IT2)Takagi-Sugeno(T-S)fuzzy model,the designed non-fragile filter resolves the filter parameter uncertainties and uses different membership functions from the IT2 T-S fuzzy model.Second,a novel mixed time/event-triggered transmission mechanism is proposed,which decreases the waste of network resources.Next,Bernoulli random variables are used to describe the cases of random switching mixed time/event-triggered transmission mechanism.Then,the error filtering system is designed by considering a Lyapunov function and a sufficient condition of finite-time boundedness.In addition,the existence conditions for the finite-time non-fragile filter are given by the linear matrix inequalities(LMIs).Finally,two simulation results are presented to prove the effectiveness of the obtained method.Zhongda LU Junxiao LU Jiaqi ZHANG Fengxia XU 2020Control Theory and Technology2020,18,2:2
20CMIP6模式对东亚夏季西风急流的模拟能力改进分析显示文摘东亚高空西风急流(简称急流)对东亚夏季降水有着重要影响,因此,评估气候系统模式对急流的模拟能力对理解东亚气候变化至关重要。本文利用21个CMIP6气候系统模式历史气候模拟试验数据,结合NCEP和GPCP再分析资料,评估了CMIP6模式对现代(1986-2005年)急流气候态和年际变率的模拟能力,并与CMIP5模式模拟结果进行了对比。结果表明,CMIP6模式模拟的200 hPa纬向风的空间分布特征更加真实,沿急流方向的偏差更小。在CMIP6模式中,急流中心位置几乎与观测一致,但只有约三分之二的CMIP5模式能模拟出急流中心位置。CMIP6模式模拟的急流强度也更接近于观测值,并且模式间不确定性减小。另外,CMIP6模式也改进了对急流经向位移年际变率的模拟能力,因而模拟的急流与东亚夏季降水的相关关系更强。总体而言,相对于CMIP5模式,CMIP6模式明显改进了对急流的模拟效果。FU Yuanhai LIN Zhongda GUO Dong 2020Atmospheric and Oceanic Science Letters2020,13,6:2
