2Interleukin-33 drives hepatic fibrosis through activation of hepatic stellate cells显示文摘Liver fibrosis is a consequence of chronic liver disease,causing morbidity and mortality.Interleukin-33(IL-33)is a critical mediator of inflammation,which may be involved in the development of liver fibrosis.Here,we investigated the role of IL-33 in human patients and experimental bile-duct ligation(BDL)-induced fibrosis in mice.We report increased hepatic IL-33 expression in the murine BDL model of fibrosis and in surgical samples obtained from patients with liver fibrosis.Liver injury,inflammatory cell infiltration and fibrosis were reduced in the absence of the IL-33/ST2 receptor,and the activation of hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)was decreased in ST2-deficient mice.Recombinant IL-33 activated HSCs isolated from C57BL/6 mice,leading to the expression of IL-6,TGF-β,α-SMA and collagen,which was abrogated in the absence of ST2 or by pharmacological inhibition of MAPK signaling.Finally,administration of recombinant IL-33 significantly increased hepatic inflammation in sham-operated BL6 mice but did not enhance BDL-induced hepatic inflammation and fibrosis.In conclusion,BDL-induced liver inflammation and fibrosis are dependent on ST2 signaling in HSCs,and therefore,the IL-33/ST2 pathway may be a potential therapeutic target in human patients with chronic hepatitis and liver fibrosis.Zhongming Tan Qianghui Liu Runqiu Jiang Long Lv Siamak S Shoto Isabelle Maillet Valerie Quesniaux Junwei Tang Wenjie Zhang Beicheng Sun Bernhard Ryffel 2018Cellular & Molecular Immunology2018,15,4:24
3Diamonds and Other Exotic Minerals Recovered from Peridotites of the Dangqiong Ophiolite, Western Yarlung-Zangbo Suture Zone, Tibet显示文摘Various combinations of diamond, moissanite, zircon, quartz, corundum, rutile, titanite, almandine garnet, kyanite, and andalusite have been recovered from the Dangqiong peridotites. More than 80 grains of diamond have been recovered, most of which are pale yellow to reddish-orange to colorless. The grains are all 100-200 μm in size and mostly anhedral, but with a range of morphologies including elongated, octahedral and subhedral varieties. Their identification was confirmed by a characteristic shift in the Raman spectra between 1325 cm^(-1) and 1333 cm^(-1), mostly at 1331.51 cm^(-1) or 1326.96 cm^(-1). Integration of the mineralogical, petrological and geochemical data for the Dongqiong peridotites suggests a multi-stage formation for this body and similar ophiolites in the Yarlung-Zangbo suture zone. Chromian spinel grains and perhaps small bodies of chromitite crystallized at various depths in the upper mantle, and encapsulated the UHP, highly reduced and crustal minerals. Some oceanic crustal slabs containing the chromian spinel and their inclusion were later trapped in suprasubduction zones(SSZ), where they were modified by island arc tholeiitic and boninitic magmas, thus changing the chromian spinel compositions and depositing chromitite ores in melt channels.XIONG Fahui YANG Jingsui ROBINSON Paul T. 4Strigolactones and Brassinosteroids Antagonistically Regulate the Stability of the D53-OsBZR1 Complex to Determine FC1 Expression in Rice Tillering显示文摘Rice tillering,a key architecture trait determ ining grain yield,is highly regulated by a class of newly identified phytohorm ones,strigolactones(SLs).How ever,the whole SL signaling pathw ay from the receptor to dow nstream transcription factors to finally inhibit tillering remains unrevealed.In this study,we first found that brassinosteroids(BRs)strongly enhance tillering by prom oting bud outgrow th in rice,which is largely different from the function of BRs in Arabidopsis.Genetic and biochem ical analyses indicated that both the SL and BR signaling pathw ays control rice tillering by regulating the stability of D53 and/or the OsBZR1 RLA1-DLT module,a transcriptional complex in the rice BR signaling pathway.We further found that D53 interacts with OsBZR1 to inhibit the expression of FC1,a local inhibitor of tillering,and that this inhibition depends on direct DNA binding by OsBZR1,which recruits D53 to the FC1 promoter in rice buds.Taken together,these findings uncover a mechanism illustrating how SLs and BRs coordinately regulate rice tillering via the early responsive gene FC1.Zhongming Fang Yuanyuan Ji Jie Hu Renkang Guo Shiyong Sun Xuelu Wang 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,4:20
5Flavonoid profiling of a traditional Chinese medicine formula of Huangqin Tang using high performance liquid chromatography显示文摘The quality control processes for herbal medicines have been problematic. Flavonoids are the major active components of Huangqin Tang(HQT, a traditional Chinese medicine formula). In this study, we used a combinative method approach consisting of chromatographic fingerprinting(high performance liquid chromatography; HPLC), quantitative methods and a pharmacodynamic evaluation model to analyze the flavonoids of HQT obtained from different sources. Ten batches of HQT were analyzed by the HPLC fingerprinting method and 26 common peaks were detected, of which 23 peaks corresponded with the chemical profile of HQT. In addition, 11 major compounds were identified by LC–MS analysis(liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometer; LC–MS^n) and quantified by the HPLC quantitative method approach. The studied10 batches of HQT were found to be homogeneous in their composition with a similarity between 0.990 and1.000. The distribution of the 11 identified compounds was found to be very similar among the batches. Only slight pharmacodynamic differences were detected between the different batches, confirming the homogeneity of HQT. 6Targets and molecular mechanisms of triptolide in cancer therapy显示文摘Triptolide(TPL/TL) is a natural drug with novel anticancer effects. Preclinical studies indicated that TPL inhibits cell proliferation, induces cell apoptosis, inhibits tumor metastasis and enhances the effect of other therapeutic methods in various cancer cell lines. Multiple molecules and signaling pathways, such as caspases, heat-shock proteins, NF-κB, and deoxyribonucleic acid(DNA) repair-associated factors, are associated with the anti-cancer effect. TPL also improves chemoradiosensitivity in cancer therapy. Phase I trials indicate the potential clinical value of TPL use. 8Cloning of 9-cis-epoxycarotenoid dioxygenase (NCED) gene encoding a key enzyme during abscisic acid (ABA) biosynthesis and ABA-regulated ethylene production in detached young persimmon calyx显示文摘Unlike the typical climacteric fruits, persimmons (Diospyros kaki Thunb.) produce higher levels of ethylene when they are detached from trees at a younger stage. In order to obtain detailed information on the role of abscisic acid (ABA) in ripening, we cloned the DKNCED1, DKACS2, and DKACO1 genes from the calyx. Water loss was first noted in the calyx lobe, and DKNCED1 was highly expressed 1 d after the fruits were detached, coinciding with an increase in the ABA content. Then, the DKACS2 and DKACO1 genes were expressed after some delay. In the calyx, the ABA peak was observed 2 d after the fruits were harvested, and this peak preceded the ethylene peak observed on day 3. The fruit firmness rapidly decreased on day 4, and the fruits softened completely 6 d after they were harvested. The increases in the expressions of ABA, ethylene, and the genes in the calyxes occurred earlier than the corresponding increases in the pulp, although the 3 increases occurred on different days. Exogenous ABA treatment increased ABA concentration, induced expression of both ACS and ACO, and promoted ethylene synthesis and young-fruit softening; by contrast, treatment with NDGA inhibited the gene expressions and ethylene synthesis and delayed young-fruit softening. These results indicate that ethylene biosynthesis in the detached young persimmon fruits is initially triggered by ABA, which is induced by water loss in the calyx, through the induction of DKACS2 and DKACO1 expressions. 9Application of ^(137)Cs fingerprinting technique to interpreting sediment production records from reservoir deposits in a small catchment of the Hilly Loess Plateau,China显示文摘According to variations of 137Cs and clay contents, 44 flood couplets were identified in a profile of res- ervoir deposit with a vertical length of 28.12 m in the Yuntaishan Gully. Couplet 27 at the middle of the profile had the highest average 137Cs content of 12.65 Bq·kg?1, which indicated the 1963s' deposits, then 137Cs content decreased both downward and upward in the profile. The second top and bottom couplets had average 137Cs contents of 2.15 Bq·kg?1 and 0.92 Bq·kg?1, respectively. By integrated analysis of reservoir construction and management history, variations of 137Cs contents over the profile, sediment yields of flood couplets and rainfall data during the period of 1958-1970, individual storms related to the flood couplets were identified. 44 floods with a total sediment yield of 2.36×104 m3 occurred and flood events in a year varied between 1 and 10 times during the period of 1960-1970. 7-10 flood events occurred during the wet period of 1961-1964 with very wet autumn, while only 1-2 events during the dry period of 1965-1969. Average annual specific sediment yield was 1.29×104 t·km?2·a?1 for the Yuntaishan Gully during the period of 1960-1970, which was slightly higher than 1.11 ×104 t·km?2·a?1 for the Upper Yanhe River Basin above the Ganguyi Hydrological Station and slightly lower than 1.40 ×104 t·km?2·a?1 for the nearby Zhifang Gully during the same period. 10Therapeutic potential of intravenous Xuebijing on transforming growth factor β_1 and procollagen type III peptide in patients with acute paraquat poisoning显示文摘OBJECTIVE:Paraquat(PQ) poisoning-induced pulmonary fibrosis causes asphyxiation and death.The therapeutic potential of intravenous Xuebijing therapy in PQ poisoning patients and its underlying immunomodulatory effects on transforming growth factor(TGF)-β1 and procollagen type III peptide(PIIIP) were investigated.METHODS:Thirty-six acute PQ poisoning patients were randomly assigned to conventional therapy(Group A) and intravenous Xuebijing administration plus conventional therapy(Group B).Twenty volunteers served as controls(Group C).Blood samples were collected upon admission(day 0) and at post-treatment days 5,10,and 14.TGF-β1 and PIIIP concentrations were determined by ELISA and analyzed for intra-and inter-group differences over time.One-month follow-up was conducted for determining the mortality rate.RESULTS:TGF-β1 and PIIIP levels were significantly higher in PQ poisoning patients and increased over time(Groups A and B vs C,P<0.01).However,the TGF-β1 and PIIIP levels were consistently significantly lower in Group B compared with those of Group A(P<0.01).The 1-month mortality rate was also lower in Group B compared with that of Group A(P<0.05).PQ poisoning patients showed remarkably high levels of TGF-β1 and PIIIP,which increased as PQ-induced pulmonary fibrosis progressed.CONCLUSION:Treatment with intravenous Xuebijing plus conventional therapy significantly lowered TGF-β1 and PIIIP levels,which indicates therapeutic efficacy in the treatment of PQ poisoning patients.Xuebing Zheng Xiaoli Sun Piyong Ma Zhongming Liu Nan Jiang 2012Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2012,32,4:11

12Optical and electrical properties of two-dimensional anisotropic materials显示文摘Two-dimensional(2D) anisotropic materials, such as B-P, B-As, GeSe, GeAs, ReSe2, KP15 and their hybrid systems, exhibit unique crystal structures and extraordinary anisotropy. This review presents a comprehensive comparison of various 2D anisotropic crystals as well as relevant FETs and photodetectors, especially on their particular anisotropy in optical and electrical properties. First, the structure of typical 2D anisotropic crystal as well as the analysis of structural anisotropy is provided. Then, recent researches on anisotropic Raman spectra are reviewed. Particularly, a brief measurement principle of Raman spectra under three typical polarized measurement configurations is introduced. Finally, recent progress on the electrical and photoelectrical properties of FETs and polarization-sensitive photodetectors based on 2D anisotropic materials is summarized for the comparison between different 2D anisotropic materials. 13Diamond Discovered in High-Al Chromitites of the Sartohay Ophiolite,Xinjiang Province,China显示文摘In recent years diamonds and other exotic minerals have been recovered from mantle peridotites and high-Cr chromitites of a number of ophiolites of different age and different tectonic environments. Here we report a similar collection of minerals from the Sartohay ophiolite of Xinjiang Province,western China,which is characterized by having high-Al chromitites. Several samples of massive podiform chromitite with an aggregate weight of nearly 900 kg yielded diamonds,moissanite and other highly reduced minerals,as well as common crustal minerals. Thus far,more than 20 grains each of diamond and moissanite have been recovered from heavy mineral separates of the chromitites. The diamonds are all 100-200 μm in size and range in color from pale yellow to reddish-orange to colorless. Most of the grains are anhedral to subhedral octahedra,commonly with elongate forms exhibiting well-developed striations. They all display characteristic Raman spectra with shifts between 1325 cm-1 and 1333 cm-1,mostly 1331.51 cm-1 or 1326.96 cm-1. The moissanite grains are light blue to dark blue,broken crystals,50-150 μm across,commonly occurring as small flakes or fragments. Their typical Raman spectra have shifts at 762 cm-1,785 cm-1,and 966 cm-1. This investigation extends the occurrence of diamonds and moissanite to a Paleozoic ophiolite in the Central Asian Orogenic Belt and demonstrates that these minerals can also occur in high-Al chromitites. 16Chemical characteristics of precipitation at Nanping Mangdang Mountain in eastern China during spring显示文摘To study the characteristics of precipitation in eastern China,an automatic sampler was used to collect rainwater samples from 19 precipitation events at Mangdang Mountain,Nanping City,Fujiang Province,in the spring of 2009.We used ion chromatography to analyze the ionic components and concentrations,and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) to analyze element compositions and contents.The results demonstrated remarkable acidic characteristics:in more than 80% of precipitation events the pH was less than 5.6,with an average of 4.81.Mass concentration results showed SO 4 2 was the main anionic component (36.2% of the total anion mass),while NH 4+ was the main cationic component (47.7% of the total cation mass) and main ion for acidity neutralization in the rainwater.Organic acid content accounted for 30.9% of total anion mass.The main trace metals were Ca,K,and Na.The SO 4 2/NO 3 ratio was 1.4,indicating that precipitation in this region was influenced by complex air pollution-the product of individual coal-burning combined with vehicle exhaust pollution.Correlation analysis of the chemical composition of the precipitation indicated that acidity in this region was determined by a combination of all acidic and neutralization ions rather than any single ion component.The results also showed that Na+ and Cl contributions were mainly by seawater;Mg 2+ by seawater and crustal materials;the NH 4+,K+,Ca 2+,NO 3 and SO 4 2 by anthropogenic sources;the trace metals were from the Earth's crust;and organic acids were potentially from combustion of biomass.Yanli Cheng Ying Liu Mingqun Huo Qian Sun Huixiang Wang Zhongming Chen Yuhua Bai 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,8:8

18Adsorption and desorption of herbicide monosulfuron-ester in Chinese soils显示文摘Monosulfuron-ester is a new,low rate,sulfonylurea herbicide that is being promoted for annual broadleaf and gramineal weed control;however,there is a lack of published information on its behavior in soils.The adsorption and desorption of monosulfuronester by seven type soils were measured using a batch equilibrium technique.The results showed that the Freundlich equation fitted its adsorption and desorption well,and the Freundlich constant values (K f-ads ) ranged from 0.88 to 5.66.Adsorption isotherms were nonlinear with 1/n f-ads values < 1.Soil pH,organic matter (OM),and clay content were the main factors influencing its adsorption and desorption.Adsorption and desorption were negatively correlated with pH 4.0–8.0 while positively correlated with OM and clay content.The adsorption of monosulfuron-ester was mainly a physical process,because its free energy (?G) in seven soils was less than 40 kJ/mol.Monosulfuron-ester adsorption by three soils increased with increasing CaCl 2 concentration using CaCl 2 as a background electrolyte.Monosulfuron-ester desorption was hysteretic in all tested soils.Chunxian Wu Suzhi Zhang Guo Nie Zhongming Zhang Jinjun Wang 2011Journal of Environmental Sciences2011,23,9:8
19Effect of the simultaneous application of a high static magnetic field and a low alternating current on grain structure and grain boundary of pure aluminum显示文摘Effect of the simultaneous application of a high static magnetic field and a low alternating electric current on the solidification structure of pure aluminum has been investigated. Results show that the refinement of the solidification structure is enhanced by the electric current under a certain magnetic field. However,when the magnetic field intensity exceeds a certain value, the refinement is impaired under a certain electric current. The observation by electron backscattered diffraction(EBSD) shows the complex fields have led to the increase of the low angle boundaries with the refinement. Moreover, the application of the static gradient magnetic field is capable of modifying the distribution of the refined grains. 20Tunable Schottky barrier width and enormously enhanced photoresponsivity in Sb doped SnS2 monolayer显示文摘Doping, which is the intentional introducti on of impurities into a material, can improve the metal-semiconductor interface by reducing Schottky barrier width. Here, we prese nt high-quality two-dime nsional SnS2 nano sheets with well-controlled Sb dopi ng concen tration via direct vapor growth approach and following micromechanical cleavage process. X-ray photoelectro n spectroscopy (XPS) measureme nt dem on strates that Sb contents of the doped samples are approximately 0.22%, 0.34% and 1.21%, respectively, and doping in duces the upward shift of the Fermi level with respect to the pristi ne SnS2. Tran smissio n electro n microscopy (TEM) characterizatio n exhibits that Sb-doped SnS2 nano sheets have a high-quality hexagonal symmetry structure and Sb element is uniformly distributed in the nano sheets. The phototra nsistors based on the Sb-doped SnS2 mono layers show n-type behavior with high mobility which is one order of magn itude higher than that of pristi ne SnS2 phototra nsistors. The photorespo nsivity and exter nal quantum efficiency (EQE) of Sb-S nS2 mono layers phototra nsistors are approximately three orders of magnitude higher than that of pristine SnS2 phototransistor.
