| 4 | Effects of combined splenorenal shunt devascularization and devascularization only on hemodynamics of the portal venous system in patients with portal hypertension显示文摘Shunt and devascularization have totally different effects on hemodynamics of the portal venous system , and the actual results of combined shunt and devascularization should be determined by more clinical observations. This study aimed to evaluate effects on hemodynamics of the portal venous system after conventional spleno-renal shunt combined with pericardial devascularization and pericardial devascularization only. METHODS: In 20 patients who had received conventional splenorenal shunt combined with pericardial devascularization(CP) and 18 who had received pericardial devascularization and splenectomy (PCDV), hemodynamic parameters of the portal venous system were studied by magnetic resonance angiography 1 week before and 2 weeks after operation. Free portal pressure was detected continuously by a transducer during the operation. RESULTS: Compared to the preoperative data, a decreased flow of the portal vein (PVF) (563.12±206.42 ml/min vs 1080.63±352.85 ml/min, P<0.05), a decreased diameter of the portal vein (PVD) (1.20±0.11 cm vs 1.30±0.16 cm, P<0.01 ), a decreased free portal preasure ( FPP ) (21.50±2.67 mmHg vs 29.88±2.30 mmHg, P<0.01) and an increased flow of the superior mesenteric vein (SMVF) (1105.45±309.03 ml/min vs 569.13±178.46 ml/min, P < 0.05) were found in the CP group after operation; a decreased PVD (1.27±0.16 cm vs 1.40±0.23 cm, P<0.05), a decreased PVF (684.60±165.73 ml/min vs 1175.64±415.09 ml/min, P<0.05), a decreased FPP (24.40±3.78 mmHg vs 28.80±3.56 mmHg, P<0.05) and an increased SMVF (697.91+121.83 ml/min vs 521.30±115.82 ml/min, P<0.05) were found in the PCDV group. After operation, the PVF of CP group (563.12±206.42 ml/min vs 684.60±165.73 ml/min, P>0.05) was not decreased significantly while FPP (21.50±2.67 mmHg vs 24.40±3.78 mmHg, P< 0.01) was decreased significantly as compared with that of the PCDV group. PVF and FPP could be decreased by both surgical procedures, but the effect of decreasing FPP is much better in the combined procedures than in PCDV. | 5 | Expression of calreticulin is associated with infiltration of T-cells in stage ⅢB colon cancer显示文摘AIM: To investigate the correlation between expression of calreticulin and infiltration of lymphocytes in stage ⅢB colon cancer. METHODS: Sixty-eight pathologically-confirmed speci-mens were obtained from stage ⅢB (T3N1M0) colon cancer patients who underwent radical resection between January 1999 and May 2002 at the Cancer Center of Sun Yat-Sen University, Guangzhou, China. Immuno-histochemical analysis was performed to show infiltration of lymphocytes and expression of calreticulin in colon cancer. Association between calreticulin expression, infiltration of lymphocytes, and 5-year survival rate of patients was assessed. RESULTS: The expression level of calreticulin was lower in cancer nest than in its adjacent normal epithelium since 61.8% (42/68) of the samples were stained with calreticulin in colon cancer. The expression of calreticulin in colon cancer was associated with the infi ltration of CD45RO+ cells rather than with that of CD3+ cells. In addition, the stronger expression of calreticulin and the higher infiltration of CD3+ and CD45RO+ cells in colon cancer were associated with the higher 5-year survival rate of patients. | 8 | The Red Edge Parameters of Different Wheat Varieties Under Different Fertilization and Irrigation Treatments显示文摘The dynamics of red edge parameters at different growth stages of wheat canopy was studied.The red edge position moved to the longer wavelength from erecting stage to heading stage, and returned to the original wavelength direction from grain-filling stage to maturity stage. The leaf total nitrogen content (LTN)is positively related to red edge amplitude (d λ red) and NIR platform amplitude (d λNIRP) and the correlation coefficient improved as growth stage extended. The chlorophyll content (TChl) is negatively related to d λ red from erecting stage to the elongation stage, and positively related to d λ red from heading stage to milky maturity stage. TChl is also positively related to d λNIRP. The leaf area index (LAI) is positively related to d λ red and d λNIRP, and the correlation coefficient improved as growth stage extended. It was concluded that d λ red and d λNIRP can be used as the indicators of winter wheat growth state, and guide the fertilization and irrigation decision making. | 9 | Mapping of Fertility Restoring Gene for Aegilops kotschyi Cytoplasmic Male Sterility in Wheat Using SSR Markers显示文摘LK783 was found to be a good fertility restorer for K-type male sterility of wheat. Microsatellite markers were employed to map the major restoring gene in LK783. Maintainer and restorer DNA pools were established using the extreme sterile and fertile plants among (KJ5418A//911289/LK783)F1 population,respectively. Seventy-nine sets of SSR primers were screened for polymorphism between the two pools, 6 of which were found polymorphic. Linkage analysis showed that Xgwm11, Xgwm18 , Xgwm264a and Xgwm273were linked to the restoring gene in LK783, while Xgwm11, Xgwm18 and Xgwm273 were co-segregated. The distance between the Rf gene in LK783 and the three co-segregated markers was 6.54±4.37 cM, the distance between Rf gene and Xgwm264a was 5.71±4.10 cM. The four SSR markers were located on chromosome 1BS by amplifying the DNA of nulli-tetrasomics and ditelosomics of CS with the 4 sets of primers, indicating that the major restoring gene in LK783 was located on 1BS, but the relative location of the gene was different from Rfv1, allelism of the two genes should be further investigated. | 11 | Relationship Between Changes of Endogenous Hormone in Sweet Potato Under Water Stress and Variety Drought-resistance显示文摘The IAA, GA3, iPA, ZR and ABA contents in sweet potato leaves under drought conditions were determined by the method of ELISA, and the relationship between these endogenous hormones and drought resistance of different sweet potato varieties were studied. The results showed the IAA, GA3, iPA and ZR contents in sweet potato leaves decreased, but ABA contents increased obviously. The stronger the drought resistance of the variety was, the more IAA, GA3, iPA and ZR contents decreased and the less ABA contents increased. | 12 | Breeding Technology of eui-hybrids of Rice显示文摘Induced mutants of elongated uppermost internode (eui) were directly obtained after irradiation on maintainer (B) and restorer (R) lines of hybrid rice. CMS lines(A) with eui (referred to as eA), restorer lines with eui (referred to as eR) as well as hybrid rice with eui gene (referred to as e-hybrids)were developed. The results showed that the eui mutation frequency averaged 0.10‰ at a range of 0.02‰ - 0.47‰,varying with applied dosage and mutated materials. Genetic diversities of eui stock, and a new eui gene, temporarily designated as eui2(t), was identified. eA lines have a significantly elongated uppermost internode causing better panicle exsertion and possessing higher outcrossing potential. e-hybrids increased plant height by 3 - 10 cm and headed 2 - 3 days earlier, as well as showed greater grain weight resulting in higher yield potential than that of corresponding original hybrids. | 17 | Distribution of Crystal Organic Fertilizer-N in Soil-plant System显示文摘The distribution of crystal organic fertilizer, urea and compound fertilizer-N in soil and plant system was researched with 15N-trace under tobacco pot experiment. The results showed that the leaf yield of tobacco used crystal organic fertilizer was 23.1% and 14.6 % higher than that of urea and compound fertilizer treatments respectively. Compound fertilizer also resulted in higher yield of 8.5% comparing with the urea treatment. Nitrogen content of the plant from the crystal organic fertilizer treatment was 138.6% and 145.7% as high as that of the compound fertilizer and urea treatments respectively. The absorbed N from the organic fertilizer was 25.1% and 27.9% more than that from the compound fertilizer and urea respectively.However, the absorbed N from the soil with the organic fertilizer was 47.4% and 58.3% more than that with compound fertilizer and urea respectively. The N use efficiency of the organic fertilizer was 9.4% and 10.1%higher than that of the compound fertilizer and urea.
