Terrestrial vegetation carbon sinks in China,1981―2000显示文摘Using China's ground observations, e.g., forest inventory, grassland resource, agricultural statistics, climate, and satellite data, we estimate terrestrial vegetation carbon sinks for China's major biomes between 1981 and 2000. The main results are in the following: (1) Forest area and forest biomass car- bon (C) stock increased from 116.5×106 ha and 4.3 Pg C (1 Pg C = 1015 g C) in the early 1980s to 142.8×106 ha and 5.9 Pg C in the early 2000s, respectively. Forest biomass carbon density increased form 36.9 Mg C/ha (1 Mg C = 106 g C) to 41.0 Mg C/ha, with an annual carbon sequestration rate of 0.075 Pg C/a. Grassland, shrub, and crop biomass sequestrate carbon at annual rates of 0.007 Pg C/a, 0.014― 0.024 Pg C/a, and 0.0125―0.0143 Pg C/a, respectively. (2) The total terrestrial vegetation C sink in China is in a range of 0.096―0.106 Pg C/a between 1981 and 2000, accounting for 14.6%―16.1% of carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted by China's industry in the same period. In addition, soil carbon sink is estimated at 0.04―0.07 Pg C/a. Accordingly, carbon sequestration by China's terrestrial ecosystems (vegetation and soil) offsets 20.8%―26.8% of its industrial CO2 emission for the study period. (3) Considerable uncertainties exist in the present study, especially in the estimation of soil carbon sinks, and need further intensive investigation in the future.FANG JingYun GUO ZhaoDi PIAO ShiLong CHEN AnPing 2007Science China Earth Sciences2007,50,9:188
Increasing terrestrial vegetation activity in China, 1982—1999显示文摘Variations in vegetation activity during the past 18 years in China were investigated using the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) derived from the 3rd generation time series dataset of NOAA-AVHRR from 1982 to 1999. In order to eliminate the effects of non-vegetation factors, we characterized areas with NDVI < 0.1 as sparsely vegetated areas and areas with NDVI ≥ 0.1 as vegetated areas. The results showed that increasing NDVI trends were evident, to varying extents, in almost all regions in China in the 18 years, indicating that vegetation activity has been rising in recent years in these regions. Compared to the early 1980s, the vegetated area increased by 3.5% by the late 1990s, while the sparsely vegetated area declined by 18.1% in the same period. The national total mean annual NDVI increased by 7.4% during the study period. Extended growing seasons and increased plant growth rates ac-counted for the bulk of these increases, while increases in temperature and summer rainfall, and strengthening agricultural activity were also likely important factors. NDVI changes in China ex-hibited relatively large spatial heterogeneity; the eastern coastal regions experienced declining or indiscernibly rising trends, while agricultural regions and western China experienced marked increases. Such a pattern was due primarily to urbanization, agricultural activity, regional climate characteristics, and different vegetation responses to regional climate changes.FANG Jingyun PIAO Shilong HE Jinsheng MA Wenhong 2004Science China(Life Sciences)2004,47,3:109
Study on spatial pattern of land-use change in China during 1995—2000显示文摘It is more and more acknowledged that land-use/cover dynamic change has become a key subject urgently to be dealt with in the study of global environmental change. Supported by the Landsat TM digital images, spatial patterns and temporal variation of land-use change during 1995—2000 are studied in the paper. According to the land-use dynamic degree model, supported by the 1km GRID data of land-use change and the comprehensive characters of physical, economic and social features, a dynamic regionalization of land-use change is designed to disclose the spa-tial pattern of land-use change processes. Generally speaking, in the traditional agricultural zones, e.g., Huang-Huai-Hai Plains, Yangtze River Delta and Sichuan Basin, the built-up and residential areas occupy a great proportion of arable land, and in the interlock area of farming and pasturing of northern China and the oases agricultural zones, the reclamation of arable land is conspicuously driven by changes of production conditions, economic benefits and climatic conditions. The im-plementation of returning arable land into woodland or grassland policies has won initial success in some areas, but it is too early to say that the trend of deforestation has been effectively reversed across China. In this paper, the division of dynamic regionalization of land-use change is designed, for the sake of revealing the temporal and spatial features of land-use change and laying the foundation for the study of regional scale land-use changes. Moreover, an integrated study, in-cluding studies of spatial pattern and temporal process of land-use change, is carried out in this paper, which is an interesting try on the comparative studies of spatial pattern on change process and the change process of spatial pattern of land-use change.刘纪远 刘明亮 庄大方 张增祥 邓祥征 2003Science China Earth Sciences2003,46,4:69
Precipitation variation in the northeastern Tibetan Plateau recorded by the tree rings since 850 AD and its relevance to the Northern Hemisphere temperature显示文摘Three well-dated Sabina Przewalskii ring-width chronologies from Dulan, China, have been used to reconstruct annual precipitation (from prior July to current June) variations on the northeast Tibetan Plateau since 850 AD. The reconstructions account of the instrumentally recorded precipitation variance are: 54.7% for the period of 1385-2000AD; 50.5% for 1099-1384AD and 45.7% for 850-1098AD. On the millenary scale, the precipitation variation over this region displays “W” shape, which has three peaks and two valleys. The precipitation is low during 1571-1879 AD, and high during 1880-2000 AD. 1900-2000 AD is the century with the highest precipitation over the northeast Tibetan Plateau in the last 1000 years, and 1962-2000 is the period with the highest pre- cipitation, and the highest variability of precipitation as well in the last 1000 years. The reconstructed series also reveals that the variability of annual precipitation is large when the precipitation is more, and contrarily, variability is small when the precipitation is low. With the temperature increasing obvi- ously in the 20th century, the precipitation in the study region significantly increased too, the variability of precipitation became larger, and drought and flooding occurred more frequently. The yearly tree-ring width (high frequency signal) series in this region reflects the local annually precipitation variation. However, the series with 40-year moving average (low frequency signal) cor- responds to the Northern Hemisphere temperature variations on the decadal to centurial scale. It correlates significantly with seven temperature curves of the Northern Hemisphere in the different time spans. For example, the correlation coefficients with the most temperature curves are around 0.9 during the period of 1852-1982 AD. In general, the temperature and the precipitation change syn- chronously in the Dulan region. It means that low temperature corresponds to low precipitation, andvice versa. This relationship may indicate that the climatic pattern is the combination of warm-wet and cold-dry on centenary to millenary scale over the Northern Tibetan Plateau in the past 1000 years. The departure series of 40-year moving average could be regarded as the millenarian temperature curve with annual resolution over the northeast Tibetan Plateau region.John K. 5Temporal patterns of land-use change and carbon storage in China and tropical Asia显示文摘Evaluating the annual sources and sinks of carbon from land-use changehelps constrain other terms in the global carbon cycle and may help countries choose how to comply with commitments for reduced emissions. This paper presents the results of recent analyses of land-use change in China and tropical Asia. The original forest areas are estimated to have covered 546×106 ha in tropical Asia and 425×106 ha in China. By 1850, 44% of China's forests had been cleared, and another 27% was lost between 1850 and 1980, leaving China with 13% forest cover (29% of the initial forest area). Tropical Asia is estimated to have lost 26%of its initial forest cover before 1850 and another 33% after 1850. The annual emissions of carbon from the two regions reflect the different histories over the last 150 years, with China's emissions peaking in the late 1950s (at 0.2-0.5 Pg C@a-1) and tropical Asia's emissions peaking in 1990s (at 1.0 Pg C@a-1). Despite the fact that most deforestation has been for new agricultural land, the majority of the lands cleared from forests in China are no longer croplands, but fallow or degraded shrublands. Unlike croplands, the origins of these other lands are poorly documented, and thus add considerable uncertainty to estimates of flux before the 1980s. Nevertheless, carbon emissions from China seem to have decreased since the 1960s to nearly zero at present. In contrast, emissions of carbon from tropical Asia were higher in the 1990s than that at any time in the past.R. A. Houghton 2002Science China(Life Sciences)2002,45,z1:40
Urban land expansion and arable land loss of the major cities in China in the 1990s显示文摘Based on the land-use data in 1990 and 2000, determined by interpreting Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) imagery, this paper defines the extent of urban construction land, and extracts patches of urban construction land of 145 cities with the largest areas in 1990 and arable land patches around these cities. With these data, this paper analyzes the characteristics of ur- ban construction land expansion and the consequent arable land loss in East, Middle and West China, and further identifies the social, economic and spatial factors of the urban land use changes, using GIS (Geographical Information System) and multivariate regression approaches. The results show that total urban land of the 145 cities expanded by 39.8%, with about 70% of the new urban land converted from arable land in the 1990s. The urban land expansion varied among the three regions, with a value of 43.0% in the East, 33.1% in the West (33.1%) and 17.8% in the Middle. Moreover, mean urban construction land per capita increased by10.7% in the East, but it decreased by 7.7% in the Middle, 1.4% in the West. Statistical analysis indicated that total wages of staff and workers could best explain the differences of urban land expansion.TAN Minghong LI Xiubin LU Changhe 2005Science China Earth Sciences2005,48,9:32
Accurate relocation of earthquakes in central-western China using the double-difference earthquake location algorithm显示文摘The double-difference earthquake relocation algorithm (DD algorithm) has been applied to the accurate relocation of 10057 earthquakes in the central-western China (21°-36°N, 98°-112E°) during the period of 1992-1999. In total, 79706 readings for P waves and 72169 readings for S waves were used in the relocation, and the source parameters of 6496 events were obtained. The relocation results revealed a more complete picture of the hypocentral distribution in the central-western China. In several seismic belts the relocated epicenters present a more defined lineation feature, reflecting the close correlation between the seismicity and the active tectonic structures. The relocated focal depths confirmed that most earthquakes (91 percent of the 6496 relocated events) in the central-western China were located at shallower depths not deeper than 20 km. The distribution of focal depths indicates that the seismogenic layer in the central-western China is located in the upper-mid crust with its thickness no deeper than 20 km.YANG Zhixian (杨智娴) CHEN Yuntai (陈运泰) ZHENG Yuejun (郑月军) Yü Xiangwei (于湘伟) 2003Science China Earth Sciences2003,46,z2:32
Early J_2 basalts in SE China:Incipience of large-scale late Mesozoic magmatism显示文摘Magmatism in SE China was dormant during 204―180 Ma, but was reactivated in 180― 170 Ma (early J2), and then became more and more intensive towards the end of early Cretaceous. The small-scale early J2 magmatism is the incipience to long-term and large-scale magmatism in this region. A near east-west (EW) trend volcanic belt was distributed across south Hunan, south Jiangxi and southwest Fujian was formed during early J2 time. Along this belt from the inland toward the coast, the lithology of basalts changes from alkali into tholeiite, and the amount of erupted volcanic rocks and the proportions of rhyolites coexisting with the basalts increase. On the basis of geochemical char- acteristics of these basalts, we infer that the melting degree of source rocks and the extent of frac- tional crystallization and crustal contamination all increased whereas the depth of mantle source de- creased from the inland to the coast, which led to the variations of geological characteristics of the volcanic belt. In early J2, the western spreading Pacific plate began to subduct underneath SE China continental block, reactivating near EW trend deep fault that was originally formed during the Indos- inian event. The stress of the western spreading Pacific plate and the extent of asthenosphere up- welling increased from the inland to the coast, which is consistent with the generation and evolution of early J2 basalts.XIE Xin1, XU Xisheng1, ZOU Haibo2, JIANG Shaoyong1, ZHANG Ming3 & QIU Jiansheng1 1. 9A Possible Linkage in the Interdecadal Variability of Rainfall over North China and the Sahel显示文摘The instrumental records of precipitation, including some historical documentary evidence, show that the rainfall in North China during the rainy season (July and August) exhibits an interdecadal variability similar to the Sahelian rainfall. Both these areas exhibited a weak interdecadal rainfall variability prior to the 1950s, and experienced a long-lasting drought since the 1960s, with two rainfall decreasing transitions, one around the year 1965 and another in the late 1970s. NCEP/NCAR reanalysis data are used to analyze the associated changes in atmospheric circulation during the second decrease transition. The changes of local atmospheric circulation at the end of the 1970s, at both lower and upper levels, contribute to the less precipitation in North China and the Sahel.任保华 陆日宇 肖子牛 2004Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2004,21,5:17
Lithospheric seismic fabrics of Sulu ultrahigh-pressure metamorphic belt显示文摘Calibration of seismic reflectors appearing in the crust of the Chinese continent sci- entific drilling site can be completed through the correlation studies between direct evidences, such as the drill cores, and geophysical signatures; therefore the interpretation of geophysical data could produce reliable results of crustal structure and composition. On the other hand, there are two Cenozoic volcanoes close to the scientific drilling site; analyzing composition of xenoliths existent in the volcanoes and evaluating their seismic velocities can also offer information about the mantle and lower crust. After the calibration via cores and well-logging data, the seismic re- flectors appearing in the UHP belt can be caused by lithological changes within the UHP rock slice, ductile shearing rock-suites, and later fracture zones. Among these sources, ductile shearing resulted in displacement and detachment of original rock-sheets, producing some rock-interbeds of several hundred meters thick that are named the ductile shearing rock-suites. A suite consists of mylonized gneiss and eclogite slices that underwent shearing, becoming the major mechanism responsible to generate regional strong reflections. The UHP rock-slice is characterized by complicated structures and high density, high seismic velocity and high electri- cal resistivity, its thickness is usually less than 11 km. Velocity and density of the gneiss-layer beneath gradually tend to normal with increasing depth. Based on the xenoliths we can infer that the middle crust contains a lot of gneisses, and the lower crust consists of different granulites. The lithospheric mantle has multi-layer structures and consists mainly of spinal lherzolite and harzburgite, implying late Mesozoic lithospheric thinning. The seismic fabrics with different ori- gins were possible products of different geodynamic processes. For instance, the UHP rock-slice was produced by the UHP metamorphic process and the exhumation of subducted supercrustal rocks after the Triassic collision between the Yangtze and Sino-Korean cratons; whilst the ductile shearing rock-suites resulted from shearing deformation processes during the subduction and exhumation. The normal velocity below the UHP rock-slice was correlated with Mesozoic exten- sion processes in the area. Through careful calibration of seismic reflectors and analyzing xeno- liths, one can find the relationship between the causes of seismic reflectors and corresponding geodynamic processes, offering a new basis for reconstruction of regional dynamic evolution history.YANG Wencai 1 , YANG Wuyang 1 , JIN Zhenmin 2 & CHENG Zhenyan 1 1. 11Velocity structure of uppermost mantle beneath North China from Pn tomography and its implications显示文摘20301 Pn arrival time data are collected from the seismological bulletins of both national and regional seismic networks. Pn travel time residuals are tomographically inverted for the Pn velocity structure of uppermost mantle beneath North China. The result indicates that the average Pn velocity in North China is 7.92 km/s, and the velocity varies laterally from ?0.21 to +0.29 km/s around the average. The approximately NNE trending high and low velocity regions arrange alternatively west-eastward. From west to east we can see high velocity in the middle Ordos region, the Shanxi graben low, the Jizhong depression high, the west Shandong uplift and Bohai Sea low, and the high velocity region to the east of the Tanlu fault. In the southern boundary zone of the North China block, except for the high velocity in the Qingling Mountains region, the velocity is generally lower than the average. Obvious velocity anisotropy is seen in the Datong Cenozoic volcanic region, with the fast velocity direction in NNE-SSW. Notable velocity anisotropy is also seen around the Bay of Bohai Sea, and the fast velocity directions seem to show a rotation pattern, possibly indicating a flow-like deformation in the uppermost mantle there. The Pn velocity variations show a reversed correlation with the Earth's heat flow. The low Pn velocity regions generally show high heat flow, e.g., the Shanxi graben and Bohai Sea region. While the high Pn velocity regions usually manifest low heat flow, e.g., the region of Jizhong depression. This indicates that the Pn velocity variation in the study region is mainly aroused by the regional temperature difference in the uppermost mantle. Strong earthquakes in the crust tend to occur in the region with the abnormal low Pn velocity, or in the transition zone between high and low Pn velocity regions. The earthquakes in the low velocity region are shallower, while that in the transition zone are deeper.WANG Suyun (汪素云) XU Zhonghuai (许忠淮) PEI Shunping (裴顺平) 2003Science China Earth Sciences2003,46,z2:13

The Belt and Road Initiative Impact on Europe: An Italian Perspective显示文摘This paper analyzes the impact of the Belt and Road Initiative on Europe with a specificfocus on ltaly. We concentrate on the impact of new railways and port infrastructures onbilateral trade. Our analysis suggests that the development of new railway connectionswill benefit most of the Northern and Central European countries. Some industries likeautomotive and electronics that have a higher value to weight ratio will benefit morethan others. However, due to higher costs, railway services will never reach a highpercentage of total import^export flows. Investment in new port facilities, although less"new" compared with railways, may be a bigger game changer. The development ofthe Port of Piraeus has already increased the importance of the Mediterranean Sea asan import^export hub for China. If the other planned investments in Egypt and Algeriaare completed, this phenomenon will be magnified. This presents a huge challenge forItaly. The ltalian port in the high Adriatic Sea could be displaced by Piraeus capacity, especially if this port linked through railways with the center of Europe. Italy needsto coordinate its ports together with its railway network to take advantage of Belt andRoad Initiative opportunities.Enrico Fardella Giorgio Prodi 2017China & World Economy2017,25,5:9
Evaluation of genetic diversity in Chinese indigenous chicken breeds using microsatellite markers显示文摘China is rich in chicken genetic resources, and many indigenous breeds can be found throughout the country. Due to poor productive ability, some of them are threatened by the commercial varieties from domestic and foreign breeding companies. In a large-scale investigation into the current status of Chinese poultry genetic resources, 78 indigenous chicken breeds were surveyed and their blood samples collected. The genomes of these chickens were screened using microsatellite analysis. A total of 2740 individuals were genotyped for 27 microsatellite markers on 13 chromosomes. The number of alleles of the 27 markers ranged from 6 to 51 per locus with a mean of 18.74. Heterozy-gosity (H) values of the 78 chicken breeds were all more than 0.5. The average H value (0.622) and polymorphism information content (PIC, 0.573) of these breeds suggested that the Chinese indige-nous chickens possessed more genetic diversity than that reported in many other countries. The fixa-tion coefficients of subpopulations within the total population (FST) for the 27 loci varied from 0.065 (LEI0166) to 0.209 (MCW0078), with a mean of 0.106. For all detected microsatellite loci, only one (LEI0194) deviated from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium (HWE) across all the populations. As genetic drift or non-random mating can occur in small populations, breeds kept on conservation farms such as Langshan chicken generally had lower H values, while those kept on large populations within con-servation regions possessed higher polymorphisms. The high genetic diversity in Chinese indigenous breeds is in agreement with great phenotypic variation of these breeds. Using Nei’s genetic distance and the Neighbor-Joining method, the indigenous Chinese chickens were classified into six categories that were generally consistent with their geographic distributions. The molecular information of genetic diversity will play an important role in conservation, supervision, and utilization of the chicken re-sources.QU Lujiang1, LI Xianyao1, XU Guifang2, CHEN Kuanwei3, YANG Hongjie2, ZHANG Longchao1, WU Guiqin1, HOU Zhuocheng1, XU Guiyun1 & YANG Ning1 1. 15The Belt and Road Initiative in China's Emerging Grand Strategy of Connective Leadership显示文摘As Chinese leaders endeavor to maintain the international environment aligned withtheir strategic aim of realizing the "'dream of national rejuvenation, "' the remarkableincrease in China "s capabilities, coupled with uncertainty in the global economy and theambivalent attitude of the USA toward the international order, poses fresh challenges toBeijing's foreign policy. The present paper argues that a lexicographic preference for themitigation of the risk of pushback against China's core interests underpins the Belt andRoad Initiative. Pursuing a strategy of credible reassurance commensurate to the shift inthe distribution of power in China's neighborhood and globally, President Xi Jinping'sadministration has been cultivating a form of connective leadership that commits Chinato the encapsulation of the Belt and Road Initiative for transregional connectivity intoits own national development strategy, generating an octroye, non-hegemonic, type ofinternational social capital and integrating the existing order without corroborating theposition of its founder.Giovanni B. 16Thermal regime transition in eastern North China and its tectonic implication显示文摘The pre-Cenozoic formation in the Cenozoic depositon centres in eastern North China reached its maximum temperature at present, and the earlier paleo-temperature, therefore, has been overprinted, but the record of paleo-temperature by the vitrinite reflectance (Ro) has not been overprinted by the later thermal events in the pre-Cenozoic formation located in the uplift or in the Paleozoic-Mesozoic residual basins out of the Cenozoic depositon centres. The reconstruction of paleo-temperature gradient and paleo-heat flow, based on the vitrinite reflectance in the Paleozoic and the Mesozoic structural layers in boreholes, indicated that the eastern North China was characterized by much higher paleo-temperature gradient (40-55℃/km) and heat flow (>80 mW/m2) during the Middle-Late Mesozoic than those in the Early Mesozoic and at present. The higher paleo-heat flow during the Middle-Late Mesozoic implies that the thickness of the 'thermal' lithosphere at that time was just 50-55 km, it had been much thinned relative to the thickness (135-148 km) at the Early Mesozoic. The transition of near-surface thermal regime in eastern North China occurred around 110 Ma, and the corresponding deep tectonothermal processes should take place at ~160 Ma.FU Mingxi HU Shengbiao WANG Jiyang 2005Science China Earth Sciences2005,48,6:8
Influence of Tropical Cyclone Landfalls on Spatiotemporal Variations in Typhoon Season Rainfall over South China显示文摘This study examined the impact of tropical cyclone (TC) landfalls on the spatiotemporal variations in the rainfall over South China for the period 1957–2005. The target region was selected to show the noteworthy contribution of TC landfalls to the total rainfall during the typhoon season (July–October). Two prevailing spatial variations in the rainfall were obtained from an EOF analysis. The first EOF mode displays singlesign variability over South China with an explained variance of 23.4%. The associated time series of this mode fluctuates on a decadal timescale and was found to be correlated with TC genesis in the South China Sea. The second EOF mode shows a seesaw pattern between Hainan Island/Guangdong Province and the remaining regions with an explained variance of 11.4%. This seesaw pattern results from an anti-correlation in seasonal TC landfalls between the two regions, which was found in previous studies. This is related to the strengthening (weakening) of the upper tropospheric jets and the corresponding development of a massive anticyclonic (cyclonic) circulation over East Asia. The EOF analysis was also conducted using just the data for rainfall caused by landfalling TCs. This revealed that the first EOF mode using just the TC-induced rainfall is nearly identical to the second mode from the total rainfall. The obvious seesaw pattern of the first mode when employing just the TC-induced rainfall in the EOF analysis implies that this pattern has larger temporal variability than the single-signed pattern (i.e., the first EOF mode using the total rainfall) in terms of TC landfalls. This study suggests that TC landfalls over South China and the accompanying rainfall significantly modulate the spatial variation of the typhoon season rainfall there.Min-Hee LEE Chang-Hoi HO Joo-Hong KIM 2010Advances in Atmospheric Sciences2010,27,2:7
Russia's Vision of the Belt and Road Initiative:From the Rivalry of the Great Powers to Forging a New Cooperation Model in Eurasia显示文摘The article aims to highlight Russian approaches to Chinese One Belt-One Roadinitiative. It examines possible opportunities and challenges for co-development of theEurasian Economic Union and the Belt project. Both projects and their co-developmentmay reduce the uncertainty in Eurasia, caused by significant structural changes ininternational relations and the world economy, the emergence of new trade regimesand the erosion of leadership in international affairs. Russian interests in this regardare determined by the need for modernization and long-term development, which couldalso help to address acute security issues. These particular factors encouraged Russiato come up with an ambitious plan of the Extensive Eurasian Partnership, although theprospects of its implementation currently are uncertain. The present article argues thatthe success of Russia-China collaboration in Eurasia will depend crucially on the futuredynamics of the Eurasian integration, as well as on the agreement to co-develop theEurasian Economic Union and the Belt Initiative with concrete and mutually beneficialprojects.Ivan Timofeev Yaroslav Lissovolik Liudmila Filippova 2017China & World Economy2017,25,5:6
Environmental Efficiency and the Optimal Size of Chinese Cities显示文摘The spatial distribution of population and economic activities has tmportant tmpacts onboth economic growth and the environment. This paper uses a slack-based measure toestimate the total factor environmental efficiency (TFEE) of 286 Chinese prefectural-and-above cities for the period 2002-2013. In particular, the relationship between citysize and TFEE is investigated. The findings also show an inverted U-shaped relationshipbetween TFEE and city size, which implies an optimal city size of 16.68 million residentsin China. According to this estimate, most Chinese cities may be undersized due to themigration restrictions of the hukou registration system and, hence, suffer from greatenvironmental efficiency losses. The estimated low average TFEE value of Chinese citiesalso suggests the large potential for efficiency improvement. Thus, government policiesshould focus on relaxing migration restrictions and encouraging the development oflarge cities.Jianxin Wu Yanrui Wu BingWang 2017China & World Economy2017,25,3:6
The westerly fluctuation and water vapor transport over the Qilian-Heihe valley显示文摘The westerly fluctuation and the atmospheric water vapor transport over the Qilian-Heihe valley are analyzed and the results show that, in the water vapor transport stream field from Jun to September, this valley is in the westerly stream and the water vapor comes from westerlies water transport via the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea. The net water vapor transport is less net import and different from most areas of the northwest China. The interannual changes in water vapor transport over the valley arise from the westerly fluctuation, and have a positive relationship to the interannual changes in westerly wind speed. The cold air actions from the Mongol low pressure are the primary system that controls the westerly water vapor transport. Its action chain is that, the Mongol low pressure is strengthened → the circulation meridionality will be increased → the cold air will move southwards → the westerly will be stronger → the wind convergence of direction and speed will be stronger → the water vapor convergence transport will be increased → the local water vapor content will be increased. The interannual changes in atmospheric water vapor transport over the valley rely mainly on the convergence transport, but the effect of advection transport is less. The interannual changes of strong or weak westerly affect mainly the convergence transport, and then make the atmospheric water vapor net transport increase or decrease over the Qilian-Heihe valley.WANG Keli CHENG Guodong XIAO Honglang JIANG Hao 2004Science China Earth Sciences2004,47,z1:6
