Genetic diversity of pepper(Capsicum spp.) germplasm resources in China reflects selection for cultivar types and spatial distribution显示文摘Pepper(Capsicum spp.) is an important vegetable crop in the world. Now the pepper in China contributes one-third of the world's peppers production. Genetic diversity of the pepper germplasm of China is expected interesting to know. To explore the structure of genetic diversity in Chinese pepper germplasm resources and possible relationship with cultivar types or geographic origin, we sampled and compared 372 Gen Bank pepper accessions(local cultivars and landraces) from 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities of China and 31 additional accessions from other countries. These accessions were genotyped using 28 simple sequence repeat(SSR) markers spanning the entire pepper genome. We then investigated the genetic structure of the sampled collection using model-based analysis in STRUCTURE v2.3.4 and examined genetic relationships by the unweighted pair-group method of mathematical averages(UPGMA) in MEGA. In addition to geographic origin, we evaluated eight plant and fruit traits. In total, 363 alleles were amplified using the 28 SSR primers. Gene diversity, polymorphism information content and heterozygosity of the 28 SSR loci were estimated as 0.09–0.92, 0.08–0.92 and 0.01–0.34, respectively. The UPGMA cluster analysis clearly distinguished Capsicum annuum L. from other cultivated pepper species. Population structure analysis of the 368 C. annuum accessions uncovered three genetic groups which also corresponded to distinct cultivar types with respect to the plant and fruit descriptors. The genetic structure was also related to the geographic origin of the landraces. Overall results indicate that genetic diversity of Chinese pepper landraces were structured by migration of genotypes followed by human selection for cultivar types in agreement with consumption modes and adaptation to the highly diversified agro-climatic conditions. | ZHANG Xiao-min ZHANG Zheng-hai GU Xiao-zhen MAO Sheng-li LI Xi-xiang Joel Chadceuf Al ain Palloix WANG Li-hao ZHANG Bao-xi | 2016 | Journal of Integrative Agriculture2016,15,9: | 6

Magnetic resonance studies of jets in a gas-solid fluidised bed显示文摘Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has been used to study the behaviour of jets at the distributor of a 50 mm diameter fluidised bed of 0.5 mm diameter poppy seeds. Two perforated-plate distributors were examined, containing either 10 or 14 holes, each 1 mm diameter. Ultra-fast MR imaging was able to show the transient nature of the upper parts of the jets, where discrete bubbles are formed. Imaging in 3D showed that the central jets were the longest for flow rates below minimum fluidisation. Above minimum fluidisation, the outer jets, nearest the wall of the fluidised bed, arched inward towards the central axis. In this latter case, interpretation of the time-averaged 3D image required the use of ultra-fast MR imaging to identify the approximate height above the distributor at which discrete bubbles were formed. The apparently continuous void extending along the central axis above this height in the time-averaged 3D image was thus identified, using ultra-fast MR imaging, as representing the averaged paths of released bubbles. Time-averaged MR velocity mapping was also used to identify dead zones of stationary particles resting on the distributor between the jets. The dead zones could be observed when the superficial velocity of the gas approached minimum fluidisation, but they were smaller than those observed at lower gas superficial velocity. Comparable images of a single jet through 1.2 mm diameter poppy seeds from MRI and electrical capacitance volume tomography (ECVT) are also demonstrated. | Meenal Pore Thusara C. | 4 | Proteomic Analysis of High Temperature Stress-Responsive Proteins in Chrysanthemum Leaves显示文摘Chrysanthemum is one of the most important ornamental flowers in the world, and temperature has a significant influence on its field production. In the present study, differentially expressed proteins were investigated in the leaves of Dendranthema grandiflorum‘Jinba’under high temperature stress using label-free quantitative proteomics techniques. The expressed proteins were comparatively identified and analyzed.A total of 1,463 heat-related,differentially expressed proteins were successfully identified by Liquid Chromatography-tandem Mass Spectrometry(LC-MS/MS),and 1,463 heat-related,differentially expressed proteins were successfully identified by mass spectrometry after a high temperature treatment.Among these,701 proteins were upregulated and 762 proteins were downregulated. The in-depth bioinformatics analysis of these differentially expressed proteins revealed that these were involved in energy metabolism pathways, protein metabolism, and heat shock. In the present study, the investigators determined the changes in the levels of some proteins, and their expression at the protein and molecular levels in chrysanthemum to help reveal the mechanism of heat resistance in chrysanthemum.Furthermore, the present study elucidated some of the proteins correlated to heat resistance in chrysanthemum, and their expression changes at the protein and molecular levels to help reveal the mechanism of heat resistance in this flower species. These results provide a theoretical basis for the selection of new heat resistant varieties of chrysanthemum in the field. | Xin Li Feiya Liao Qiqi Ma Beibei Jiang Yuanzhi Pan Cheng Luo Xinjie Wang Aining Ran | 2021 | Phyton-International Journal of Experimental Botany2021,90,5: | 1

Multifunctional inorganic nanomaterials for cancer photoimmunotherapy显示文摘Phototherapy and immunotherapy in combination is regarded as the ideal ther-apeutic modality to treat both primary and metastatic tumors.Immunother-apy uses different immunological approaches to stimulate the immune system to identify tumor cells for targeted elimination.Phototherapy destroys the pri-mary tumors by light irradiation, which induces a series of immune responses through triggering immunogenic cancer cell death. Therefore, when integrat-ing immunotherapy with phototherapy,a novel anti-cancer strategy called pho-toimmunotherapy(PIT)is emerging. This synergistic treatment modality can not only enhance the effectiveness of both therapies but also overcome their inherent limitations, opening a new era for the current anti-cancer therapy.Recently, the advancement of nanomaterials affords a platform for PIT.From all these nanomaterials, inorganic nanomaterials stand out as idealmediators in PIT due to their unique physiochemical properties.Inorganic nanomaterials can not only serve as carriers to transport immunomodulatory agents in immunotherapy owing to their excellent drug-loading capacity but also function as photother-mal agents or photosensitizers in phototherapy because of their great optical characteristics. In this review, the recent advances of multifunctional inorganic nanomaterial-mediated drug delivery and their contributions to cancer PIT will be highlighted. | Lu Tang Aining Zhang Ziyao Zhang Qingqing Zhao Jing Li Yijun Mei Yue Yin Wei Wang | 2022 | Cancer Communications2022,42,2: | 1

A systematic survey of LU domain-containing proteins reveals a novel human gene,LY6A,which encodes the candidate ortholog of mouse Ly-6A/Sca-1 and is aberrantly expressed in pituitary tumors显示文摘The Ly-6 and uPAR(LU)domain-containing proteins represent a large family of cell-surface markers. In particular, mouse Ly-6A/Sca-1 is a widely used marker for various stem cells;however, its human ortholog is missing. In this study, based on a systematic survey and comparative genomic study of mouse and human LU domain-containing proteins,we identified a previously unannotated human gene encoding the candidate ortholog of mouse Ly-6A/Sca-1.This gene, hereby named LY6A,reversely overlaps with a lncRNA gene in the majority of exonic sequences. We found that LY6A is aberrantly expressed in pituitary tumors, but not in normal pituitary tissues, and may contribute to tumorigenesis.Similar to mouse Ly-6A/Sca-1,human LY6A is also upregulated by interferon, suggesting a conserved transcriptional regulatory mechanism between humans and mice.We cloned the full-length LY6A cDNA,whose encoded protein sequence, domain architecture, and exon‒intron structures are all well conserved with mouse Ly-6A/Sca-1.Ectopic expression of the LY6A protein in cells demonstrates that it acts the same as mouse Ly-6A/Sca-1 in their processing and glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchoring to the cell membrane.Collectively, these studies unveil a novel human gene encoding a candidate biomarker and provide an interesting model gene for studying gene regulatory and evolutionary mechanisms. | Dan Liu Chunhui Xu Yanting Liu Wen Ouyang Shaojian Lin Aining Xu Yuanliang Zhang Yinyin Xie Qiuhua Huang Weili Zhao Zhu Chen Lan Wang Saijuan Chen Jinyan Huang Zhe Bao Wu Xiaojian Sun | 2023 | Frontiers of Medicine2023,17,3: | 0
Clinical research of biphenotypic acute leukemia witht(8;21)(q22;q22)显示文摘Objective:To report 4 cases of biphenotypic acute leukemia(BAL)with t(8;21)(q22;q22),and analyze the characteristics of morphology, immune phenotype, chromosome karyotype(MIC)and clinical manifestations. Methods:The BAL patients with t(8;21)(q22;q22)(group A)were compared with the randomly selected BAL patients with other clonical chromo- somal changes(group B)and acute myeloid leukemia M2 cases with t(8;21)(q22;q22)(group C)in MIC and clinical features. Results:BAL with t(8;21)(q22;q22)showed acute myeloid leukemia with high percentages of blast cells morphologically; revealed co-positive to B-lymphoid and myeloid lineages, frequent and high expressions of CD34 and CD33;were responsive to chemotherapy for myeloid and lymphocytic leukemia simultaneously well. Conclusion:A new subset of BAL with t(8;21)(q22;q22)was reported, and this suggests that the leukemia colony with t(8;21)(q22;q22)might originate from early phase of hematopoiesis. | Guangsheng He Ling Zhou Depei Wu Yongquan Xue Mingqing Zhu Jianying Liang Aining Sun Zhengming Jin Huiying Qiu Miao Miao Xiaowen Tang Zhengzheng Fu Xiao Ma Xiuli Wang | 2007 | The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2007,6,4: | 0
