A Comprehensive Review of Animal Models for Coronaviruses: SARSCoV-2, SARS-CoV, and MERS-CoV显示文摘The recent outbreak of coronavirus disease(COVID-19) caused by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2) has already affected a large population of the world. SARS-CoV-2 belongs to the same family of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus(SARS-CoV) and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus(MERSCoV). COVID-19 has a complex pathology involving severe acute respiratory infection, hyper-immune response, and coagulopathy. At present, there is no therapeutic drug or vaccine approved for the disease. There is an urgent need for an ideal animal model that can reflect clinical symptoms and underlying etiopathogenesis similar to COVID-19 patients which can be further used for evaluation of underlying mechanisms, potential vaccines, and therapeutic strategies. The current review provides a paramount insight into the available animal models of SARS-CoV-2, SARS-CoV, and MERS-CoV for the management of the diseases. | Ashutosh Singh Rahul Soloman Singh Phulen Sarma Gitika Batra Rupa Joshi Hardeep Kaur Amit Raj Sharma Ajay Prakash Bikash Medhi | 2020 | Virologica Sinica2020,35,3: | 3
Numerical study of fractional model of multi-dimensional dispersive partial differential equation显示文摘This article is devoted to a newly introduced numerical method for time-fractional dispersive partial differential equation in a multidimensional space. The time-fractional dispersive partial differential equation plays a great role in solving the problems arising in ocean science and engineering. The numerical technique comprises of Sumudu transform, homotopy perturbation scheme and He’s polynomial, namely homotopy perturbation Sumudu transform method(HPSTM)is efficiently used to examine time-fractional dispersive partial differential equation of third order in multi-dimensional space. The approximate analytic solution of the time-fractional dispersive partial differential equation of third-order in multi-dimensional space obtained by HPSTM is compared with exact solution as well as the solution obtained by using Adomain decomposition method. The results derived with the aid of two techniques are in a good agreement and consequently these techniques may be considered as an alternative and efficient approach for solving fractional partial differential equations.Several test problems are experimented to confirm the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed methods. | Vijay Verma Amit Prakash Devendra Kumar Jagdev Singh | 2019 | Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science2019,4,4: | 2
Effects of in ovo delivered xylo-and mannan-oligosaccharides on growth performance, intestinal immunity, cecal short-chain fatty acids, and cecal microbiota of broilers显示文摘Background:This study investigated a novel in ovo feeding strategy to determine the prebiotic effects of xylo-and mannan-oligosaccharides(XOS and MOS)differing in the degree of polymerization.A total of 192 fertilized eggs were divided into 6 treatment groups:i)normal saline control(NSC),ii)xylotriose(XOS3),iii)xylotetraose(XOS4),iv)mannotriose(MOS3),v)mannotetraose(MOS4),and vi)no injection control(NIC),each containing 4 replicate trays with 8 eggs per replicate. On d 17 of incubation,3 mg of oligosaccharides(except for controls)dissolved in 0.5 mL of 0.85%normal saline were injected into the amnion of Cobb 500 broilers eggs. After hatch, the chicks were raised for 28 d under standard husbandry practices and were fed a commercial broilers diet ad libitum, and samples were collected periodically. Results:The hatchability, growth performance, and relative weights of breast, drumstick, liver, and proventriculus were not different among the treatments(P>0.05).The XOS3 injection increased the total short-chain fatty acid production at d 28 compared with both control groups(P<0.05).The villus height to crypt depth ratio was significantly higher in the XOS4 group than both controls on the hatch day(P<0.01)but were not different among any treatments on d 7 and 28(P>0.05).On the hatch day,the expression level of the CD3 gene(a T cell marker)was increased by XOS3,while the IL-10 gene(a marker of anti-inflammatory cytokine)was reduced by MOS4(P<0.05)compared with both controls.Compared with both controls,XOS3 exhibited a trend of reduction for IL-10(P=0.074).No cytokines or lymphocyte markers were affected by the treatments on d 7(P>0.05),except XOS4 increased IL-4 compared with NSC(P<0.05).The broilers in the MOS4 group had higher operational taxonomic units(OTUs)and had more differentially abundant taxa, including order Lactobacillales and family Leuconostocaceae(P<0.05)than both controls on d 28.The predictive functional profiling indicated that the linoleic acid metabolism pathway was enriched in the cecal microbiota of the XOS3 group compared with both controls(P<0.05).Conclusion:The effects of these XOS and MOS on ileal mucosa and immunity are transient, but the effects on fermentation and cecal microbiota are prolonged, and further research is warranted to determine their use as a gut health promoter in poultry. | Amit Kumar Singh Utsav Prakash Tiwari Birendra Mishra Rajesh Jha | 2022 | Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology2022,13,4: | 2

Role of lithology, weathering and precipitation on water chemistry of lakes from Larsemann Hills and Schirmacher Oasis of East Antarctica显示文摘Schirmacher Oasis and Larsemann Hills areas represent two different periglacial environments of East Antarctica. Schirmacher Oasis is characterized by a vast stretch of ice-shelf in the north and East Antarctic Ice Sheet(EAIS) to its south. Whereas, in Larsemann Hills area the northern and north-western boundary is coastal area and EAIS in the southern part, exhibiting polar lowland between the marine and continental glacial ecosystems. Physico-chemical parameters of water samples from different lakes of both of these two distinct locations are quite contrasting and have indicated influence of lithology, weathering, evaporation and precipitation. The lake water chemistry in Larsemann Hills area is mainly governed by the lithology of the area while Schirmacher lakes exhibit influence of precipitation and rock composition. All major ions of lake waters indicate balanced ionic concentrations. The atmospheric precipitation has significantly modified the ionic distributions in the lakes and channels. Carbonation is the main proton supplying geochemical reactions involved in the rock weathering and this is an important mechanism which controls the hydrochemistry. The lake water hydrochemistry differs widely not only between two distant periglacial zones but also within a short distance of a single periglacial entity, indicating influence of territorial climate over hydrochemistry. | Rajesh ASTHANA Prakash K SHRIVASTAVA Hari B SRIVASTAVA Ashit K SWAIN Mirza Javed BEG Amit DHARWADKAR | 2019 | Advances in Polar Science2019,30,1: | 1

An efficient hybrid computational technique for the time dependent Lane-Emden equation of arbitrary order显示文摘The study of dynamic behaviour of nonlinear models that arise in ocean engineering play a vital role in our daily life. There are many examples of ocean water waves which are nonlinear in nature. In shallow water, the linearization of the equations imposes severe conditions on wave amplitude than it does in deep water, and the strong nonlinear effects are observed. In this paper,q-homotopy analysis Laplace transform scheme is used to inspect time dependent nonlinear Lane-Emden type equation of arbitrary order. It offers the solution in a fast converging series. The uniqueness and convergence analysis of the considered model is presented. The given examples confirm the competency as well as accuracy of the presented scheme. The behavior of obtained solution for distinct orders of fractional derivative is dis-cussed through graphs. The auxiliary parameter¯h offers a suitable mode of handling the region of con-vergence.The outcomes reveal that the q-HATM is attractive, reliable, efficient and very effective. | Manish Goyal Amit Prakash Dumitru Baleanu | 2022 | Journal of Ocean Engineering and Science2022,7,2: | 0
Synoptic review on existing and potential sources for bias in dental research methodology with methods on their prevention and remedies显示文摘The results of years of dental study serve as the foundation for the practise of medicine and,for that matter, dentistry.Doctors may have their own preferences for techniques and materials, but whether directly or indirectly, their decisions are influenced by systematic reviews and meta-analyses.However,due to poorly conducted or presented research, this very basic foundation may not be reliable.Bias in research is one of several factors that might make study results or research itself unreliable.Bias can be introduced into research at many stages, deliberately or unknowingly.Bias can appear at any point during the research process, even before the study itself begins. There are many biases in research, but some of them are more relevant to dentistry research than others.Because it is said that“eyes see what the mind knows”,it is essential to have a complete understanding of the different types of bias, how and when they get entrenched, and what steps may be taken to prevent or lessen them if they do occur. This comprehensive summary of bias in dentistry research is provided by this synoptic review. The goal is to identify gaps and measures that have been taken-or that should have been taken-by providing both descriptive and evaluative summaries,as well as examples from the literature, when needed. | Amit Arvind Agrawal Nilima Prakash Mohammad Almagbol Mohammed Alobaid Abdullah Alqarni Hammam Altamni | 2023 | World Journal of Methodology2023,13,5: | 0

Machine learning approach for label-free rapid detection and identification of virus using Raman spectra显示文摘Objective:The objective of this study was to develop a robust method for rapid detection and identification of the virus based on Raman spectroscopy combined with machine learning approach. Methods:We have used saliva spiked with different bacterial viruses such as P1 Phage,M13 Phage, and Lambda Phage, for demonstrating the utility of this method for virus detection. The Raman spectra collected from a large number of independent samples, each of different phages with and without saliva were used to train a supervised convolutional neural network(CNN)with its hyperparameters optimized by Bayesian optimization. The CNN method was not only able to detect the presence of a phage but was also able to identify the phage type using unprocessed Raman spectra having high noise. In addition,a semi-supervised auto-encoder was utilized for differentiating healthy saliva from saliva spiked with phages thereby making it possible to detect the presence of phages in saliva samples. Results:The CNN could identify the virus with an accuracy of 98.86%based on ten-fold cross-validation,precision of 98.8%,recall of 98.7%,and F1 score of 98.7%.The area under the curve of receiver operating characteristic curve was 0.99.Autoencoder was capable of differentiating healthy saliva from the virus spiked saliva with an accuracy of 99.7%in a semi-supervised manner. Thus,Raman spectroscopy coupled with machine learning approach was able to directly detect and identify the virus without consuming time for lengthy sample processing. Conclusion:A robust method based on Raman spectroscopy coupled with machine learning may be capable of detection and identification of the virus even from the signal with low intensity and high noise. This label-free method is fast, sensitive, specific, and cost effective. | Rajath Alexander Sheetal Uppal Anusree Dey Amit Kaushal Jyoti Prakash Kinshuk Dasgupta | 2023 | Intelligent Medicine2023,3,1: | 0
Spray Prediction Model for Aonla Rust Disease Using Machine Learning显示文摘Disease prediction in plants has acquired much attention in recent years.Meteorological factors such as:temperature, relative humidity, rainfall, sunshine play an important role in a plan’s growth only if they are present in adequate amounts as required by the plant. On the other hand,if the factors are inadequate, they may also support the growth of a disease in the plants. The current study focuses on the Rust disease in Aonla fruits and leaves by utilizing a real time dataset of weather parameters.Fifteen different models are tested for spray prediction on conducive days. Two resampling techniques, random over sampling(ROS)and synthetic minority oversampling technique(SMOTE)have been used to balance the dataset and five different classifiers:support vector machine(SVM),logistic regression(LR),k-nearest neighbor(kNN),decision tree(DT)and random forest(RF)have been used to classify a particular day based on weather conditions as conducive or non-conducive.The classifiers are then evaluated based on four performance metrics:accuracy, precision, recall and F1-score.The results indicate that for imbalanced dataset,kNN is appropriate with high precision and recall values.Considering both balanced and imbalanced dataset models, the proposed model SMOTE-RF performs best among all models with 94.6%accuracy and can be used in a real time application for spray prediction.Hence, timely fungicide spray prediction without over spraying will help in better productivity and will prevent the yield loss due to rust disease in Aonla crop. | Hemant Kumar Singh Bhanu Pratap S.K.Maheshwari Ayushi Gupta Anuradha Chug Amit Prakash Singh Dinesh Singh | 2023 | Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology(B)2023,13,1: | 0
