1Biosynthesis of Biocompatible Cadmium Telluride Quantum Dots Using Yeast Cells显示文摘We demonstrate a simple and efficient biosynthesis method to prepare easily harvested biocompatible cadmium telluride(CdTe)quantum dots(QDs)with tunable fluorescence emission using yeast cells.Ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis)spectroscopy,photoluminescence(PL)spectroscopy,X-ray diffraction(XRD),and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)confirm that the CdTe QDs are formed via an extracellular growth and subsequent endocytosis pathway and have size-tunable optical properties with fluorescence emission from 490 to 560 nm and a cubic zinc blende structure with good crystallinity.In particular,the CdTe QDs with uniform size(2-3.6 nm)are protein-capped,which makes them highly soluble in water,and in situ bio-imaging in yeast cells indicates that the biosynthesized QDs have good biocompatibility.This work provides an economic and environmentally friendly approach to synthesize highly fluorescent biocompatible CdTe QDs for bio-imaging and bio-labeling applications.Haifeng Bao Na Hao Yunxia Yang Dongyuan Zhao 2010Nano Research2010,3,7:11
2Genome editing technology and application in soybean improvement显示文摘Soybean(Glycine max)is a legume crop with great economic value that provides rich protein and oil for human food and animal feed.In order to cope with the ever-increasing need for soybean products and the changing environment,soybean genetic improvement needs to be accelerated.In recent years,the rapid developed genome editing technologies,such as zinc finger nuclease(ZFNs),transcription activator-like effector nucleases(TALENs),and clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/CRISPR associated protein(CRISPR/Cas),have shown broad application prospects in gene function research and improvement of important agronomic traits in many crops,and has also brought opportunities for soybean breeding.Here we systematically reviewed recent advances in genome editing technology.We also summarized the significances,current applications,challenges and future perspectives in soybean genome editing,which could provide references for exerting the feature and advantage of this technology to better soybean improvement.Aili Bao Chanjuan Zhang Yi Huang Haifeng Chen Xinan Zhou Dong Cao 2020Oil Crop Science2020,5,1:7
3Wavelet Transform-Based Distributed Compressed Sensing in Wireless Sensor Networks显示文摘Wireless Sensor Networks(WSN) are mainly characterized by a potentially large number of distributed sensor nodes which collectively transmit information about sensed events to the sink.In this paper,we present a Distributed Wavelet Basis Generation(DWBG) algorithm performing at the sink to obtain the distributed wavelet basis in WSN.And on this basis,a Wavelet Transform-based Distributed Compressed Sensing(WTDCS) algorithm is proposed to compress and reconstruct the sensed data with spatial correlation.Finally,we make a detailed analysis of relationship between reconstruction performance and WTDCS algorithm parameters such as the compression ratio,the channel Signal-to-Noise Ratio(SNR),the observation noise power and the correlation decay parameter by simulation.The simulation results show that WTDCS can achieve high performance in terms of energy and reconstruction accuracy,as compared to the conventional distributed wavelet transform algorithm.Hu Haifeng Yang Zhen Bao Jianmin 2012China Communications2012,9,2:4
4Lithium-conductive LiNbO_(3) coated high-voltage LiNi_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3)O_(2) cathode with enhanced rate and cyclability显示文摘LiNi_(0.5)Co_(0.2)Mn_(0.3)O_(2)(NCM523) cathode materials can operate at extremely high voltages and have exceptional energy density.However,their use is limited by inherent structure instability during charge/discharge and exceptionally oxidizing Ni^(4+)at the surface.Herein,we have developed a citrate-assisted deposition concept to achieve a uniform lithium-conductive LiNbO_(3) coating layer on the NCM523 surface that avoids self-nucleation of Nb-contained compounds in solution reaction.The electrode-electrolyte interface is therefore stabilized by physically blocking the detrimental parasitic reactions and Ni^(4+)dissolution whilst still maintaining high Li+conductivity.Consequently,the modified NCM523 exhibits an encouraging Li-storage specific capacity of 207.4 m Ah g-1at 0.2 C and 128.9 m Ah g-1 at 10 C over the range 3.0-4.5 V.Additionally,a 92% capacity retention was obtained after 100 cycles at 1 C,much higher than that of the pristine NCM523(73%).This surface engineering strategy can be extended to modify other Ni-rich cathode materials with durable electrochemical performances.Haifeng Yu Shouliang Wang Yanjie Hu Guanjie He Le Quoc Bao Ivan P.Parkin Hao Jiang 2022Green Energy & Environment2022,7,2:2
5Selective potassium uptake via biocompatible zeolite–polymer hybrid microbeads as promising binders for hyperkalemia显示文摘Patients with chronic kidney disease are at high risk of hyperkalemia that is associated with various lifethreatening complications.Treatments primarily rely on orally administered potassium binding agents,along with low curative effects and various side effects.Herein,direct serum potassium uptake was realized via zeolite–heparin-mimicking-polymer hybrid microbeads.The preparation process involved the synthesis of the heparin-mimicking polymer via the in situ cross-linking polymerization of acrylic acid and N-vinylpyrrolidone in polyethersulfone solution,the fabrication of microbeads via zeolite-mixing,electro-spraying and phase-inversion,and the subsequent aqueous-phase modifications based on ion-exchange and metal-leaching.An ultra-high(about 88%)amount of zeolite could be incorporated and well locked inside the polymer matrix.Potassium uptake capability was verified in water,normal saline and human serum,showing high selectivity and fast adsorption.The microbeads exhibited satisfying blood compatibility,negligible hemolysis ratio,prolonged clotting time,inhibited contact activation,and enhanced antifouling property toward serum proteins and cells.The proposed approach toward zeolite–heparin-mimicking-polymer hybrid microbeads provided a cheap,efficient and safe treatment protocol of hyperkalemia for the high-risk patients.Zhoujun Wang Wei Sun Zhiwei Wei Jianxu Bao Xin Song Yupei Li Haifeng Ji Jue Zhang Chao He Baihai Su Weifeng Zhao Changsheng Zhao 2021Bioactive Materials2021,6,2:2

9Effect of warming moxibustion Tianshu(ST 25, bilateral) and Qihai(CV 6) for the treatment of diarrhea-dominant irritable bowel syndrome: a patient-blinded pilot trial with orthogonal design显示文摘OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effects of warming moxibustion Tianshu(ST 25, bilateral) and Qihai(CV6) in patients with diarrhea-dominant irritable bowel syndrome(D-IBS) by assessing predominant factors, and determining the best factor combinations and their interactions. To identify the optimal quantity of warming moxibustion Tianshu(ST 25, bilateral) and Qihai(CV 6) to achieve optimal efficacy.METHODS: An L9(3~4) orthogonal design was applied to 233 confirmed subjects based on the three most influential factors and the three most frequently used levels. Nine programs were designed.Subjects were assigned to four subgroups according to age and gender; each subject underwent one of the nine programs randomly. We selected Tianshu(ST 25, bilateral) and Qihai(CV 6). The scores of symptoms and the IBS Quality of Life(IBS-QOL) were evaluated after the final treatment.RESULTS: After treatment, clinical symptoms of all patients were significantly improved(P = 0.001).Quality of life also improved significantly(P < 0.05).For all the participants, frequency was the dominating factor regarding symptoms(P = 0.01). Duration was the dominating factor for quality of life(P =0.0001). The best combination for improving symptoms in 30-40-year-old male and female patients was two courses of 10 min each once a day, and for41-50-year-old male and female patients it was three courses of 10 min(males) or 30 min(females)twice a day. The best combination for quality of life was three courses of 20 min once a day. No interaction was found between frequency and course, or frequency and duration.CONCLUSION: Warming moxibustion Tianshu(ST25, bilateral) and Qihai(CV 6) is a promising therapy for D-IBS. 12Numerical simulation of CO_2-ionic liquid flow in a stirred tank显示文摘Ionic liquids(ILs) are new solvents that represent a breakthrough for absorption and conversion of CO2. However, there has been little research on the hydrodynamics of gas-IL systems in stirred tanks, and this has become a bottleneck for development of IL-based reactors. In the present study, a CO2-IL([bmim][BF4]) flow in a stirred tank was studied using computational fluid dynamics(CFD). A new drag coefficient model that is specific to a gas-ionic liquid system and a population balance model(PBM) were adopted to describe the bubble behavior, such as gas holdup and bubble size evolution, precisely. The predicted results for the total gas holdup and local Sauter diameter agree well with the experimental data. The influences of the gassing rate, agitation speed, and temperature on local gas holdup, bubble size distribution, and interfacial area for the CO2-[bmim][BF4] system were also investigated. 13Seismic performance of eccentrically-compressed steel pier under multi-directional earthquake loads显示文摘In this article,the seismic performance of box-shaped steel piers embedded with energy-dissipating shells under a multi-directional seismic load is investigated.A finite element(FE)model was accurately established and verified by the quasi-static test results.A parametric analysis of the hysteretic behaviour of a novel box-shaped steel pier under eccentric pressure was carried out on this basis.We discussed the influence of the eccentricity,axial compression ratio,thickness of embedded shell,ratio of slenderness,spacing of transverse stiffening ribs on the embedded shell,and width-to-thickness ratio of wallboard on the anti-seismic performance of a novel box-shaped steel bridge pier.The results revealed that the load carrying capacity and ductility coefficient of the specimen are substantially influenced by the eccentricity,variation in the axial compression ratio,and slenderness ratio.The specimen′s plastic energy dissipation capacity can be effectively improved by increasing the thickness of the embedded shell.The spacing of the transverse stiffening ribs only marginally affects seismic performance.In addition,the width-to-thickness ratio of the wallboard exerts a more considerable influence on the deformability of the square-section specimen.Finally,a formula for calculating the bearing capacity of the novel box-shaped steel piers under cyclic loading is proposed.Luo Wenwei Li Haifeng Cao Bao′an 2021Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Vibration2021,20,3:1

19Grouping bi-chi-squared method for pulsar navigation experiment using observations of Rossi X-ray timing explorer显示文摘X-ray pulsar-based navigation is a revolutionary technology which is capable of providing the required navigation information in the solar system. Performing as an important pulsar-based navigation technique, the Significance Enhancement of Pulse-profile with Orbit-dynamics(SEPO)can estimate orbital elements by using the distortion of pulse profile. Based on the SEPO technique,we propose a grouping bi-chi-squared technique and adopt the observations of Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer(RXTE) to carry out experimental verification. The pulsar timing is refined to determine spin parameters of the Crab pulsar(PSR B0531+21) during the observation periods, and a short-term dynamic model for RXTE satellite is established by considering the effects of diverse perturbations.Experimental results suggest that the position and velocity errors are 16.3 km(3σ) and 13.3 m/s(3σ) with two adjacent observations split by one day(exposure time of 1.5 ks), outperforming those of the POLAR experiment whose results are 19.2 km(3σ) and 432 m/s(3σ). 20Composite Polymer Electrolyte Membranes based on Nafion and Modified PVDF Electrospun Nanofiber Mats显示文摘We fabricated the nanofiber composite membranes by impregnating Nafion into the modified polyvinylidene fluoride(PVDF) electrospinning nanofiber mat for proton exchange membrane fuel cells applications.The hydrophobic PVDF nanofibers mat became to the hydrophilic state by alkali treatment for the full embedding of Nafion into the PVDF network.The fabricated composite membranes exhibit significantly enhanced thermal stabilities,swelling resistance,and observably improved mechanical property compared to the pristine Nafion membrane.When the content of PVDF nanofiber mat is 15.1wt% in the membrane,the proton conductivity of the nanofiber composite membrane is nearly equal to that of pristine Nafion membrane with the same condition.The experimental results show that the prepared composite membrane can be used as a promising polyelectrolyte membrane for fuel cell applications.何贻宁 WANG Di 李琼 HUANG Leping BAO Haifeng 2020Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2020,35,4:0
