1Wearable skin-like optoelectronic systems with suppression of motion artifacts for cuff-less continuous blood pressure monitor显示文摘According to the statistics of the World Health Organization,an estimated 17.9 million people die from cardiovascular diseases each year,representing 31%of all global deaths.Continuous non-invasive arterial pressure(CNAP)is essential for the management of cardiovascular diseases.However,it is difficult to achieve long-term CNAP monitoring with the daily use of current devices due to irritation of the skin as well as the lack of motion artifacts suppression.Here,we report a high-performance skin-like optoelectronic system integrated with ultra-thin flexible circuits to monitor CNAP.We introduce a theoretical model via the virtual work principle for predicting the precise blood pressure and suppressing motion artifacts,and propose optical difference in the frequency domain for stable optical measurements in terms of skin-like devices.We compare the results with the blood pressure acquired by invasive(intra-arterial)blood pressure monitoring for>1500 min in total on 44 subjects in an intensive care unit.The maximum absolute errors of diastolic and systolic blood pressure were±7/±10 mm Hg,respectively,in immobilized,and±10/±14 mm Hg,respectively,in walking scenarios.These strategies provide advanced blood pressure monitoring techniques,which would directly address an unmet clinical need or daily use for a highly vulnerable population.Haicheng Li Yinji Ma Ziwei Liang Zhouheng Wang Yu Cao Yuan Xu Hua Zhou Bingwei Lu Ying Chen Zhiyuan Han Shisheng Cai Xue Feng 2020National Science Review2020,7,5:7
2Mechanics of flexible and stretchable piezoelectrics for energy harvesting显示文摘As rapid development in wearable/implantable electronic devices benefit human life in daily health monitoring and disease treatment medically, all kinds of flexible and/or stretchable electronic devices are booming, together with which is the demanding of energy supply with similar mechanical property. Due to its ability in converting mechanical energy lying in human body into electric energy, energy harvesters based on piezoelectric materials are promising for applications in wearable/implantable device's energy supply in a renewable, clean and life-long way. Here the mechanics of traditional piezoelectrics in energy harvesting is reviewed, including why piezoelectricity is the choice for minor energy harvesting to power the implantable/wearable electronics and how. Different kinds of up to date flexible piezoelectric devices for energy harvesting are introduced, such as nanogenerators based on Zn O and thin and conformal energy harvester based on PZT. A detailed theoretical model of the flexible thin film energy harvester based on PZT nanoribbons is summarized, together with the in vivo demonstration of energy harvesting by integrating it with swine heart. 4Analysis of Vitamin P Content and Inheritance Models in Eggplant显示文摘The eggplant(Solanum melongena L.)is rich in vitamin P(also known as rutin),which is beneficial for humans.In this study,the vitamin P contents of 53 eggplant lines were measured via UV spectrophotometry.The results showed that the vitamin P content differed significantly among the eggplant lines and the actual contents of vitamin P in fresh fruit pulp and fresh peel were 0.18–0.82mg·g^−1 and 0.42–2.32mg·g^−1,respectively.Furthermore,themixed major gene and polygene inheritance modelmethod was used for the inheritance analysis of the vitamin P content in F2 populations of three hybridization combinations.Inheritance analysis demonstrated that the vitamin P content of these eggplant lines was a quantitative trait.One or two major genes were the contributor,and the genetic effect was an additive-dominance effect.The high vitamin P content trait was regulated by the main gene and followed an additive effect.The heritability of the major genes controlling the high vitamin P content was low,while the heritability of the major gene that controls the low vitamin P content trait was high.These results provide a theoretical basis for the breeding of eggplants with high vitamin P content.Riyue Dong Bingwei Yu Shuangshuang Yan Zhengkun Qiu Jianjun Lei Changming Chen Ye Li Bihao Cao 2020Horticultural Plant Journal2020,6,4:3
5Untangling the contributions of meteorological conditions and human mobility to tropospheric NO_(2) in Chinese mainland during the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020显示文摘In early 2020,unprecedented lockdowns and travel bans were implemented in Chinese mainland to fight COVID-19;which led to a large reduction in anthropogenic emissions.This provided a unique opportunity to isolate the effects from emission and meteorology on tropospheric nitrogen dioxide(N0_(2)).Comparing the atmospheric N0_(2) in 2020 with that in 2017,we found the changes of emission have led to a 49.3±23.5%reduction,which was〜12%more than satellite-observed reduction of 37.8±16.3%.The discrepancy was mainly a result of changes of meteorology,which have contributed to an 8.1±14.2%increase of N02.We also revealed that the emission-induced reduction of N02 has significantly negative correlations to human mobility,particularly that inside the city.The intra-city migration index derived from Baidu Location-Based-Service can explain 40.4%it 17.7%variance of the emission-induced reduction of N0_(2) in 29 megacities,each of which has a population of over 8 million in Chinese mainland.Yuxiang Zhang Haixu Bo Zhe Jiang Yu Wang Yunfei Fu Bingwei Cao Xuewen Wang Jiaqi Chen Rui Li 2021National Science Review2021,8,11:2
6Neutrophil extracellular traps contribute to myofibroblast differentiation and scar hyperplasia through the Toll-like receptor 9/nuclear factor Kappa-B/interleukin-6 pathway显示文摘Background:Inflammation is an important factor in pathological scarring.The role of neutrophils,one of the most important inflammatory cells,in scar hyperplasia remains unclear.The purpose of this article is to study the correlation between neutrophil extracellular traps(NETs)and scar hyperplasia and identify a new target for inhibiting scar hyperplasia.Methods:Neutrophils were isolated from human peripheral blood by magnetic-bead sorting.NETs in plasma and scars were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays(ELISAs),immunofluorescence and flow cytometry.Immunohistochemistry was used to assess neutrophil(CD66B)infiltration in hypertrophic scars.To observe the entry of NETs into fibroblasts we used immunofluorescence and flow cytometry.Results:We found that peripheral blood neutrophils in patients with hypertrophic scars were more likely to form NETs(p<0.05).Hypertrophic scars showed greater infiltration with neutrophils and NETs(p<0.05).NETs activate fibroblasts in vitro to promote their differentiation and migration.Inhibition of NETs with cytochalasin in wounds reduced the hyperplasia of scars in mice.We induced neutrophils to generate NETs with different stimuli in vitro and detected the proteins carried by NETs.We did not find an increase in the expression of common scarring factors[interleukin(IL)-17 and transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β),p>0.05].However,inhibiting the production of NETs or degrading DNA reduced the differentiation of fibroblasts intomyofibroblasts.In vitro,NETs were found to be mediated by Toll-like receptor 9(TLR-9)in fibroblasts and further phosphorylated nuclear factor Kappa-B(NF-κB).We found that IL-6,which is downstream of NF-κB,was increased in fibroblasts.Additionally,IL-6 uses autocrine and paracrine signaling to promote differentiation and secretion.Conclusions:Our experiments found that NETs activate fibroblasts through the TLR-9/NF-κB/IL-6 pathway,thereby providing a new target for regulating hypertrophic scars.Yiming Shao Zaiwen Guo Yunxi Yang Lu Liu Jiamin Huang Yi Chen Linbin Li Bingwei Sun 2022Burns & Trauma2022,10,1:2
7Ion-vacancy coupled charge transfer model for ion transport in concentrated solutions显示文摘We present a conceptual framework for understanding and formulating ion transport in concentrated solutions, which pictures the ion transport as an ion-vacancy coupled charge transfer reaction. A key element in this picture is that the transport of an ion from an occupied to unoccupied site involves a transition state which exerts double volume exclusion. An ab initio random walk model is proposed to describe this process. Subsequent coarse-graining results in a continuum formula as a function of chemical potentials of the constituents, which are further derived from a lattice-gas model. The subtlety here is that what has been taken to be the chemical potential of the ion in the past is actually that of the ion-vacancy couple. By aid of this new concept, the driving force of ion transport is essentially the chemical affinity of the ion-vacancy coupled charge transfer reaction, which is a useful concept to unify transport and reaction, two fundamental processes in electrochemistry. This phenomenological model is parameterized for a specific material by the aid of first-principles calculations. 8北方半干旱草原生态系统光合参数的季节和年际变异显示文摘生态系统表观量子效率(α)、最大光合速率(P_(max))和暗呼吸速率(R_(d))不仅反映了生态系统水平光合生理特征,同时也是碳循环模型中光合过程模拟的关键参数。气候和植被因子都会影响光合参数的季节和年际变异,但二者在光合参数调控过程中的相对贡献和作用途径尚不清晰。本研究基于连续12年(2006-2017)的涡度相关观测数据,分析了内蒙古半干旱典型草原光合参数的季节和年际变化规律利用回归分析和结构方程模型(SEM)方法明晰了环境和生理调控的作用途径及相对贡献。结果发现,光合参数(α、P_(max)和R)均表现出单峰的季节变化趋势,并呈现明显的年际波动。温度(T_(a))和土壤含水量(SWC)的变化共同影响光合参数的季节变化,而SWC主导了其年际变异。α和R_(d)的变化主要由T_(a)决定,而P_(max)的变化主要受SWC的影响。SEM模型分析表明,除了直接作用外,环境因子主要通过影响冠层水平气孔导度(gc)对光合参数和碳同化生理过程进行调控。此外,叶面积指数对光合参数特别是Pmax的季节和年际变异起主要调控作用。以上结果明确了环境和植被共同决定了生态系统水平光合参数的季节和年际变异,并强调了在水分受限的草原生态系统中,植被生理调控在光合碳同化能力和碳汇功能评估中的重要作用。Cuihai You Yanbing Wang Xingru Tan Bingwei Zhang Tingting Ren Boyu Chen Mengzhen Xu Shiping Chen 2022Journal of Plant Ecology2022,15,5:1

11Deep eutectic solvent strategy enables an octahedral Ni–Co precursor for creating high-performance NiCo_(2)O_(4) catalyst toward oxygen evolution reaction显示文摘Deep eutectic solvents(DESs)have gained much attention in the fabrication of advanced nanoelectrocatalysts due to their amazing template function.However,their stabilizing function for easily hydrolyzed inorganic nanomaterials is rarely studied.Here,a DES-mediated strategy was reported to synthesize octahedral Ni–Co precursor(NiCo–NH_(3) complex),which could be directly transformed into NiCo_(2)O_(4) nanooctahedrons after thermal decomposition.The NiCo–NH_(3) precursor in octahedral shape was achieved with the DES-mediated crystallization in the choline chloride(ChCl)/glycerol.The ChCl/glycerol DES not only tailored the morphology of the as-prepared precursor by template effect but also inhibited its hydrolysis,ensuring the successful fabrication of octahedral NiCo–NH_(3) complex precursor with high yield.The NiCo–NH_(3) complex precursor was converted to well-defined NiCo_(2)O_(4) nanooctahedrons,where the calcination temperature and time were explored in detail.It revealed that DES could participate in the conversion process to control the morphology of calcination product.The resultant NiCo_(2)O_(4) nanooctahedrons demonstrated excellent electroactivity and remarkable durability for oxygen evolution reaction(OER).The present strategy not only offers an efficient OER electrocatalyst but also enriches the approaches of DESs in designing advanced nanocatalysts.Chenyun Zhang Bingwei Xin Tingting Chen Hao Ying Zhonghao Li Jingcheng Hao 2022Green Energy & Environment2022,7,6:1

19Performance of novel 3D printing tools in removing coronary-artery calcification tissue显示文摘Rotational atherectomy is an effective treatment for severe vascular calcification obstruction,and relies on high-speed grinding(typically 130,000–210,000 r/min)with miniature grinding tools to remove calcified tissue and restore blood flow.However,reports of intraoperative complications are common because of the grinding force,temperature,and debris directly acting on the body during the grinding process,which can easily cause damage to patients.In this study,three novel grinding tools were designed and fabricated and a series of experiments have been conducted to analyze the effects of tool geometry and parameters on grinding performance,that is,force,temperature,and specimen surface morphology.The results show that these tools can effectively remove simulated calcified tissue and that they have two motions,rotation and revolution,in the tube.At higher rotational speeds,grinding force and temperature increase noticeably,while the amount of debris decreases significantly.In addition,by observing the surface morphology of the specimens,we concluded that the material removal rate per unit time is influenced by both rotational speed and tool geometry,and that high rotational speed and a rough tool surface can improve the material removal rate efficiently.Chuhang Gao Zhaoju Zhu Zirui Huang Liujing Chen Lihong Lu Mingcheng Fang Yao Liu Bingwei He 2023Bio-Design and Manufacturing2023,6,4:0
20Population turnover promotes fungal stability in a semi-arid grassland under precipitation shifts显示文摘土壤中细菌和真菌的稳定性在维持土壤生态系统功能方面起着重要作用,环境条件的改变直接影响细菌和真菌的组成与结构。已有研究表明,土壤真菌群落稳定性对降水变化响应的敏感性比细菌低,但其内在机制还不清楚。在内蒙古典型草原建立3年的增减降雨实验平台,设置5个降水梯度,包括分别增加和减少30%和60%的降水量以及对照,比较控制不同的降水水平对土壤细菌和真菌多样性的影响,包括α多样性,β多样性和细菌/真菌群落组成的变化。本研究开发了一个概念模型来反映不同降水条件下土壤细菌和真菌的稳定性特征,其中模型山谷的深度表示微生物抵抗力(Resistance),谷的宽度代表生态弹性(Ecological Resilience)。结果表明,增加和减少60%的降水量均显著降低了细菌的丰富度,同时显著增加了细菌均匀度,但对真菌的丰富度和均匀度没有显著的影响。降水对细菌α多样性的影响高于真菌,说明细菌对水分胁迫的敏感性大于真菌。而真菌群落的周转比细菌快,包括组成变化(Composition Variation),多样性指数和变异系数(Coefficient Variation),反映了真菌群落具有较高的群落可变性,使得降水变化对真菌群落的影响较小。概念模型中两种相反的情景表示细菌和真菌对降水变化不同的响应模式:真菌群落对水分胁迫响应不敏感,可以用宽谷中的一个球来表示,球虽然在较大范围内往复摆动,但仍接近稳定状态;而细菌群落对水分响应敏感,即稳定性低,可以表示为一个球在较窄的谷里远离平衡态的位置摆动。基于本研究结果,半干旱草原真菌群落比细菌群落具有更高的稳定性,该结论对于量化群落稳定性特征具有重要意义。Nannan Wang Lei Li Bingwei Zhang Shiping Chen Wei Sun Yukun Luo Kuanhu Dong Xingguo Han Jianhui Huang Xiaofeng Xu Changhui Wang 2020Journal of Plant Ecology2020,13,4:0
