1Design, synthesis and biological evaluation of chalcone analogues with novel dual antioxidant mechanisms as potential anti-ischemic stroke agents显示文摘Scavenging reactive oxygen species(ROS) by antioxidants is the important therapy to cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury(CIRI) in stroke. The antioxidant with novel dual-antioxidant mechanism of directly scavenging ROS and indirectly through antioxidant pathway activation may be a promising CIRI therapeutic strategy. In our study, a series of chalcone analogues were designed and synthesized, and multiple potential chalcone analogues with dual antioxidant mechanisms were screened. Among these compounds, the most active 33 not only conferred cytoprotection of H2 O2-induced oxidative damage in PC12 cells through scavenging free radicals directly and activating NRF2/ARE antioxidant pathway at the same time, but also played an important role against ischemia/reperfusion-related brain injury in animals. More importantly, in comparison with mono-antioxidant mechanism compounds, 33 exhibited higher cytoprotective and neuroprotective potential in vitro and in vivo. 2Comparison study of phosphorus adsorption on different waste solids:Fly ash,red mud and ferric–alum water treatment residues显示文摘The adsorption of phosphorus(P) onto three industrial solid wastes(fly ash, red mud and ferric–alum water treatment residual(FAR)) and their modified materials was studied systematically via batch experiments. Compared with two natural adsorbents(zeolite and diatomite), three solid wastes possessed a higher adsorption capacity for P because of the higher Fe, Al and Ca contents. After modification(i.e., the fly ash and red mud modified by FeCl_3 and FARs modified by HCl), the adsorption capacity increased, especially for the modified red mud, where more Fe bonded P was observed. The P adsorption kinetics can be satisfactorily fitted using the pseudo-second-order model. The Langmuir model can describe well the P adsorption on all of the samples in our study. p H and dissolved organic matter(DOM) are two important factors for P adsorption. Under neutral conditions, the maximum adsorption amount on the modified materials was observed. With the deviation from pH 7, the adsorption amount decreased, which resulted from the change of P species in water and surface charges of the adsorbents. 3Optimizing Low-Temperature Heat Recovery in a Refinery Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit Based on Pinch Analysis显示文摘In this paper, the research was focused on optimizing low-temperature heat recovery to adopt multi-effect distillation (MED) in desalination by pinch technology. And further analysis indicated that phase changes occurred during the heat recovery process. In such case, the feed stream was divided into two streams: the liquid feed stream and the gaseous feed stream. Through calculation, the optimal ΔTmin was established at 26 ℃, and the total cost of heat exchange process was only $1.098×106. By using the Problem Table Algorithm for pinch analysis, the temperature of the hot and the cold steams was 119 ℃ and 93 ℃, respectively. At a temperature higher than 119 ℃, all heat of the hot stream could not be cooled by the condenser, and the minimum heat load of utility (QH,min) was 440457.64 kW; and at a temperature below 93 ℃, all heat of the cold stream could not be provided by the heater, and the minimum cold load of utility (QC,min) was 1965993.85 kW. 4Comparative Effects of Avoidance and Immunization on Epidemic Spreading in a Dynamic Small-World Network with Community Structure显示文摘Considering the actual behavior of people’s short-term travel,we propose a dynamic small-world community network model with tunable community strength which has constant local links and time varying long-range jumps.Then an epidemic model of susceptible-infected-recovered is established based on the mean-field method to evaluate the inhibitory effects of avoidance and immunization on epidemic spreading.And an approximate formula for the epidemic threshold is obtained by mathematical analysis.The simulation results show that the epidemic threshold decreases with the increase of inner-community motivation rate and inter-community long-range motivation rate,while it increases with the increase of immunization rate or avoidance rate.It indicates that the inhibitory effect on epidemic spreading of immunization works better than that of avoidance.LI Chanchan JIANG Guoping SONG Yurong 2016Wuhan University Journal of Natural Sciences2016,21,4:2

7siRNA-functionalized lanthanide nanoparticle enables efficient endosomal escape and cancer treatment显示文摘Attaching DNA/RNA to nanomaterials is the basis for nucleic acid-based assembly and drug delivery.Herein,we report that small interfering RNA(siRNA)effectively coordinates with ligand-free lanthanide nanoparticles(NaGdF4 NPs),and forms siRNA/NaGdF4 spherical nucleic acids(SNA).The coordination is primarily attributed to the interaction between Gd and phosphate backbone of the siRNA.Surprisingly,an efficient encapsulation and rapid endosomal escape of siRNA from the endosome/lysosome were achieved,due to its flexible ability to bound to phospholipid head of endosomal membrane,thereby disrupting the membrane structure.Resorting to the dual properties of NaGdF4 NPs,siRNA loading,and endosomal escape,siRNA targeting programmed cell death-ligand 1(siPD-L1)/NaGdF4 SNA triggers significant gene silencing in vitro and in vivo,and effectively represses the tumor growth in both CT26 tumor model and 4T1 orthotopic murine model.Chanchan Yu Kun Li Lin Xu Bo Li Chunhui Li Shuai Guo Ziyue Li Yuquan Zhang Abid Hussain Hong Tan Mengyu Zhang Yongxiang Zhao Yuanyu Huang Xing-Jie Liang 2022Nano Research2022,15,10:1
8Selecting Suitable Heat Source in Refinery for Multi-effect Distillation Based on Grey System Theory显示文摘For dealing with high-salinity wastewater in the refinery, the high cost of driving heat source is the disadvantage of multi-effect distillation (MED) so it is of great importance to evaluate the performance of low-temperature heat source for conducting MED and select the optimal temperature for it. Both the MED and the low-temperature heat sources studied in this paper were from a typical refinery located in northwestern China. Besides, a new methodology to evaluate heat sources as the optimal candidate was proposed for MED based on the grey system theory. Five process units, which included 18 fluids of the refinery, were named as the evaluation projects. Three factors, which included safety effects, total costs and characteristics of low-temperature heat sources were determined as the evaluation indexes, the values of which were established through the analyses. The results obtained through the grey correlation analyses have revealed that the grey correlation degrees of these units were 0.661(AVDU), 0.732 (#1 FCCU), 0.618 (#2 FCCU), 0.535 (#1 DCU), and 0.572 (#2 DCU), respectively. Thus, the optimal heat source was provided from #1 FCCU. Through further analyses of the fluids from #1 FCCU, the grey correlation degrees of the fluids were 0.597 (oil and gas at top of tower), 0.714 (recycle oil and gas), and 0.512 (diesel), respectively. 9The microgravity enhanced polymer-mediated siRNA gene silence by improving cellular uptake显示文摘Microgravity(MG)effect is a weightlessness phenomenon caused by the distance from the ground or low gravity of other planets outside the earth's atmosphere.The various effects of MG have been corroborated in human and animal studies and modeled in cell-based analogs.However,the impact of MG on siRNA performance remains to be elucidated,which is crucial for aerospace medicine.In this study,we prepared nucleic acid nanomicelles(EAASc/siRNA)by using tri-block copolymer of PEG45-PAMA40-P(C7A36-DBA37)(EAASc)and siRNA and explored its working mechanism under simulated microgravity(SMG)condition generated by a random positioning machine(RPM).The binding ability of EAASc to siRNA and silence activity were firstly confirmed in normal gravity(NG)environment.Evaluation of PLK1 mRNA expression revealed that gene inhibition efficiencies were increased by 28.7%(HepG2)and 28.9%(A549)under SMG condition,compared with those under NG condition.In addition,mechanism exploration indicated that morphology and migration capability of cancer cells were significantly changed,the internalization of EAASc/siRNA by cells was magnified when the cells were incubated with RPM.No significant difference was observed regarding the expression profiles of genes involved in RNA interference(RNAi)pathway,including Ago2,Dicer,TRBP,and so on.Taken together,siRNA activity was elevated under SMG condition owning to increased cellular internalization.This study,for the first time to our knowledge,provides valuable theory for development and application of siRNA therapeutic in space in the future.Tongren Yang Chanchan Yu Changrong Wang Chunhui Li Mengjie Zhang Xiaofan Luo Yuhua Weng Anjie Dong Xiaoqiong Li Yulin Deng Yuanyu Huang 2020Biophysics Reports2020,6,6:1
10Modeling and analysis of epidemic spreading on community network with node's birth and death显示文摘In this paper, a modified susceptible infected susceptible(SIS) epidemic model is proposed on community structure networks considering birth and death of node.For the existence of node's death would change the topology of global network, the characteristic of network with death rate is discussed.Then we study the epidemiology behavior based on the mean-field theory and derive the relationships between epidemic threshold and other parameters, such as modularity coefficient, birth rate and death rates(caused by disease or other reasons).In addition, the stability of endemic equilibrium is analyzed.Theoretical analysis and simulations show that the epidemic threshold increases with the increase of two kinds of death rates, while it decreases with the increase of the modularity coefficient and network size.Li Chanchan Jiang Guoping 2016The Journal of China Universities of Posts and Telecommunications2016,23,5:0

12Preparation of Modified Enteromorpha-Immobilized Microbial Agent and Research on Diesel Removal Performance显示文摘Offshore oil pollution has caused serious impacts on plants and aquatic organisms in the marine ecosystem.Bioremediation of oil pollution by immobilized bacteria has aroused wide attention due to the high degradation rate compared with free bacteria.The properties of the carrier for immobilization play an important role in the oil degradation efficiency.In our study,a marine oil degrading bacteria Sp8(Shewanella algae)was selected from sea water,and enteromorpha was used as carrier material for the immobilization of Sp8.In order to increase the hydrophobicity,sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate(SDBS)was used as modifier to modify the surface of enteromorpha by the dipping method.Sodium alginate was used as the embedding carrier,and anhydrous calcium chloride was used as the cross-linking agent to prepare the SDBS-E immobilized microbial agent by the embedding method.Compared with the degradation rate achieved by free bacteria(78.87±8.29%),the diesel removal rate accomplished by SDBS-E immobilized microbial agent increased to 90.39±1.24%.The analysis of diesel removal mechanism showed that the diesel removal pathway mainly included surface adsorption,internal uptake,and biodegradation.The diesel removal efficiency relied on surface adsorption in the early stage,and then depended on biodegradation in the later stage.The removal of diesel by SDBS-E immobilized microbial agent conformed to the quasi-first-order degradation kinetic model.The results of software-MOE suggested that enteromorpha-immobilized microbial agent adsorbed diesel mainly through hydrogen bonds formed with diesel components.This study can provide a research basis and idea for the practical application of immobilization technology to remove petroleum from seawater in the future.Yang Yuping Li Nana Duan Weichao An Chenye Xue Jianliang Jiang Qing Cheng Dongle Shen Chanchan 2021China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2021,23,3:0
