| 1 | Transmutation of ancient settlements and environmental changes between 6000-2000 aBP in the Chaohu Lake Basin, East China显示文摘Based on the temporal-spatial distribution features of ancient settlement sites from the middle and late Neolithic Age to the Han dynasty in the Chaohu Lake Basin of Anhui Province,East China,using the methods of GIS combined with the reconstructed paleoenvironment by the records of lake sediment since Holocene,the transmutation of ancient settlements with response to environmental changes in this area has been discussed.Studies show that the main feature of transmutation of ancient settlements from the middle and late Neolithic Age to the Han Dynasty was that the distribution of settlements in this area changed from high altitudes to low ones and kept approaching the Chaohu Lake with the passage of time.These could be the response to the climate change from warm-moist to a relatively warm-dry condition during the middle Holocene,leading to the lake level fluctuations.The large area of exposed land provided enough space for human activities.These indicate that the above changes in geomorphologic evolution and hydrology influenced by climate conditions affected the transmutation of ancient settlements greatly.The distribution pattern of settlement sites was that the number of sites in the west was more than in the east.This pattern may be related to the geomorphologic conditions such as frequent channel shifting of the Yangtze River as well as flood disasters during the Holocene optimum.Therefore,climate change was the inducement of the transmutation of ancient settlements in the Chaohu Lake Basin,which exerted great influence on the distribution,expansion and development of the ancient settlements. | WU Li WANG Xinyuan ZHOU Kunshu MO Duowen ZHU Cheng GAO Chao ZHANG Guangsheng LI Lan LIU Li HAN Weiguang | 2010 | Journal of Geographical Sciences2010,20,5: | 16 |
| 2 | Real-Time Position and Attitude Estimation for Homing and Docking of an Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Based on Bionic Polarized Optical Guidance显示文摘As an important tool for marine exploration, the autonomous underwater vehicle(AUV) must home in and dock at a docking station(DS) to be recharged, repaired, or to exchange information at set intervals. However, the complex and hostile underwater environment makes this process challenging. This study proposes a real-time method based on polarized optical guidance for determining the position and attitude of the AUV relative to its DS. Four polarized artificial underwater landmarks are positioned at the DS, which are recognized by the AUV vision system. Compared with light intensity, the polarization of a light beam is known to be better maintained at greater propagation distances, especially in underwater environments. The proposed method, which is inspired by the ability of marine animals to communicate, calculates the pose parameters in less than 10 ms without any other navigational information. The simulation results reveal that the angle errors are small and the position errors are no more than 0.116 m within 100 m in the coastal ocean. | 4 | Targeting strategies for adeno-associated viral vector显示文摘Adeno-associated virus (AAV) has rapidly become a promising gene delivery vector for its excellent advantages of low pathogenicity and long-term gene expression over other viral vectors for human gene therapy. However, the disadvantage of AAV for clinical gene therapy is the broad host range and the lack of tissue or cell specificity, which makes AAVs relatively inefficient gene delivery to target cells and short of safety. Therefore, it is required to improve the targeting capability of recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) for successful gene therapy. At present, the successful identification of vari- ous-serotype AAVs and the improvement of rAAV production technology make it feasible to explore new applications of rAAV vector in clinical gene therapy trials. Moreover, the current development in targeting strategy has brought a bright prospect to rAAV vectors. | 5 | 3D printing“wire-on-sphere”hierarchical SiC nanowires/SiC whiskers foam for efficient high-temperature electromagnetic wave absorption显示文摘Electromagnetic wave absorption(EWA)materials for use in extreme environments are of great interest.Herein,SiC nanowires/SiC whiskers(SiC_(nw)/SiC_(w))foam with unique“wire-on-sphere”hierarchical structure was developed for efficient high-temperature EWA.SiC_(w)were assembled to porous SiC_(w)spheres via spray drying and then SiC_(w)spheres were 3D printed to SiC_(w)foam.The catalyst-free precursor infiltration pyrolysis process was first developed to ensure that SiCnwcan intentionally grow in situ on the surface of SiC_(w)spheres,thereby achieving“wire-on-sphere”hierarchical structure foam.At room-temperature,the maximum electromagnetic wave effective absorption bandwidth(EAB_(max))and minimum electromagnetic wave reflection coefficient(RC_(min))of SiC_(nw)/SiC_(w)foam can reach 4 GHz and-57 dB,respectively.At600℃,the EAB_(max)and RC_(min) were 3 GHz and-15 dB,respectively.Furthermore,even oxidized at 1000-1500℃,SiC_(nw)/SiC_(w)foam can still retain EAB_(max)ranging from 2.7 to 3.9 GHz and RC_(min)ranging from-16 dB to-64 dB,because the formation of SiO_(2)layer with appropriate thickness can boost interfacial polarization and regulate impedance matching.The SiC_(nw)/SiC_(w)foam also shows the flexural strength as high as 17.05 MPa.All results demonstrate that the SiC nw/SiC_(w)foam is a promising EWA material for applications of harsh environments.And the material-independent“wire-on-sphere”hierarchical structure and its novel preparation process should find the widespread use in the design and fabrication of high-efficiency EWA micro-nano materials. | Xinyuan Lv Fang Ye Laifei Cheng Litong Zhang | 2022 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2022,,14: | 2 |
| 6 | 100 Hertz frame-rate switching threedimensional orbital angular momentum multiplexing holography via cross convolution显示文摘The orbital angular momentum(OAM)of light has been implemented as an information carrier in OAM holography.Holographic information can be multiplexed in theoretical unbounded OAM channels,promoting the applications of optically addressable dynamic display and high-security optical encryption.However,the frame-rate of the dynamic extraction of the information reconstruction process in OAM holography is physically determined by the switching speed of the incident OAM states,which is currently below 30 Hz limited by refreshing rate of the phase-modulation spatial light modulator(SLM).Here,based on a cross convolution with the spatial frequency of the OAM-multiplexing hologram,the spatial frequencies of an elaborately-designed amplitude distribution,namely amplitude decoding key,has been adopted for the extraction of three-dimensional holographic information encoded in a specific OAM information channel.We experimentally demonstrated a dynamic extraction frame rate of 100 Hz from an OAM multiplexing hologram with 10 information channels indicated by individual OAM values from-50 to 50.The new concept of cross convolution theorem can even provide the potential of parallel reproduction and distribution of information encoded in many OAM channels at various positions which boosts the capacity of information processing far beyond the traditional decoding methods.Thus,our results provide a holographic paradigm for high-speed 3D information processing,paving an unprecedented way to achieve the high-capacity short-range optical communication system. | Weijia Meng Yilin Hua Ke Cheng Baoli Li Tingting Liu Qinyu Chen Haitao Luan Min Gu Xinyuan Fang | 2022 | Opto-Electronic Science2022,1,9: | 2 |

| 14 | Orbital angular momentum-mediated machine learning for high-accuracy mode-feature encoding显示文摘Machine learning with optical neural networks has featured unique advantages of the information processing including high speed,ultrawide bandwidths and low energy consumption because the optical dimensions(time,space,wavelength,and polarization)could be utilized to increase the degree of freedom.However,due to the lack of the capability to extract the information features in the orbital angular momentum(OAM)domain,the theoretically unlimited OAM states have never been exploited to represent the signal of the input/output nodes in the neural network model.Here,we demonstrate OAM-mediated machine learning with an all-optical convolutional neural network(CNN)based on Laguerre-Gaussian(LG)beam modes with diverse diffraction losses.The proposed CNN architecture is composed of a trainable OAM mode-dispersion impulse as a convolutional kernel for feature extraction,and deep-learning diffractive layers as a classifier.The resultant OAM mode-dispersion selectivity can be applied in information mode-feature encoding,leading to an accuracy as high as 97.2%for MNIST database through detecting the energy weighting coefficients of the encoded OAM modes,as well as a resistance to eavesdropping in point-to-point free-space transmission.Moreover,through extending the target encoded modes into multiplexed OAM states,we realize all-optical dimension reduction for anomaly detection with an accuracy of 85%.Our work provides a deep insight to the mechanism of machine learning with spatial modes basis,which can be further utilized to improve the performances of various machine-vision tasks by constructing the unsupervised learning-based auto-encoder. | Xinyuan Fang Xiaonan Hu Baoli Li Hang Su Ke Cheng Haitao Luan Min Gu | 2024 | Light(Science & Applications)2024,13,3: | 0 |
| 15 | Study on Holocene Paleoearthquakes in Xizhang Trench on the Jiaocheng Fault Zone,Shanxi Province显示文摘Xizhang trench is located 10 km northwest of Taiyuan city,Shanxi Province,in front of a NNW-trending scarp of 4.6m height on the northern segment of the Jiaocheng fault zone.The dimensions of the trench are 108m in length,8m in width,and 10m in depth.There are 18 horizons revealed in the trench.The upper strata are sandy loam;the upper strata of the downthrown block of the fault are gravels,the lower ones are an interbed of brown loam and sandy loam.The strata on the upthrown block of the fault are sandy loam containing gravel.The trench shows 3 fault planes,and the upper offset point on the fault plane is 1.5m below the ground surface,the newest dislocated stratum is(3.74±0.06)ka BP.The trench reveals a lot of deformation traces,such as fault planes,dislocated strata,colluvial wedges and formation tilting.The relationship between strata and faults in the trench shows that 3 paleoearthquake events have occurred at the Jiaocheng fault zone since the Early Holocene,they are about(3.74±0.06)~(3.06±0.26)ka BP,(8.35±0.09)ka~(3.74±0.06)ka BP,and(10.66±0.85)~(8.35±0.09)ka BP.The average interval among the events is 2.6~3.6ka.The minimum coseismic vertical displacements of the 3 events are 3.0m,2.5m and 3.2m,respectively.The significance of Xizhang trench is that the Jiaocheng fault used to be active thousands of years ago,though there is no M≥7.0 earthquake recorded in historical documents.Evidence of new Jiaocheng fault zone activity during the Holocene is important for the earthquake safety assessment of Taiyuan city in the future. | Xie Xinsheng Zhao Jinquan Jiang Wali An Weiping Li Zihong Zhang Dawei Cheng Xinyuan Gao Shuyi Wang Chunhe Sun Changbin Yan Chengguo | 2008 | Earthquake Research in China2008,22,4: | 0 |
