| 1 | Recent Advances of Graphitic Carbon Nitride-Based Structures and Applications in Catalyst, Sensing, Imaging, and LEDs显示文摘The graphitic carbon nitride(g-C_3N_4) which is a two-dimensional conjugated polymer has drawn broad interdisciplinary attention as a low-cost, metal-free, and visible-light-responsive photocatalyst in the area of environmental remediation. The g-C_3N_4-based materials have excellent electronic band structures, electron-rich properties, basic surface functionalities, high physicochemical stabilities and are ‘‘earth-abundant.'' This review summarizes the latest progress related to the design and construction of g-C_3N_4-based materials and their applications including catalysis, sensing,imaging, and white-light-emitting diodes. | 2 | The apple DNA-binding one zinc-finger protein MdDof54 promotes drought resistance显示文摘DNA-binding one zinc-finger(Dof)proteins constitute a family of transcription factors with a highly conserved Dof domain that contains a C2C2 zinc-finger motif.Although several studies have demonstrated that Dof proteins are involved in multiple plant processes,including development and stress resistance,the functions of these proteins in drought stress resistance are largely unknown.Here,we report the identification of the MdDof54 gene from apple and document its positive roles in apple drought resistance.After long-term drought stress,compared with nontransgenic plants,MdDof54 RNAi plants had significantly shorter heights and weaker root systems;the transgenic plants also had lower shoot and root hydraulic conductivity,as well as lower photosynthesis rates.By contrast,compared with nontransgenic plants,MdDof54-overexpressing plants had higher photosynthesis rates and shoot hydraulic conductivity under long-term drought stress.Moreover,compared with nontransgenic plants,MdDof54-overexpressing plants had higher survival percentages under short-term drought stress,whereas MdDof54 RNAi plants had lower survival percentages.MdDof54 RNAi plants showed significant downregulation of 99 genes and significant upregulation of 992 genes in response to drought,and 366 of these genes were responsive to drought.We used DAPseq and ChIP-seq analyses to demonstrate that MdDof54 recognizes cis-elements that contain an AAAG motif.Taken together,our results provide new information on the functions of MdDof54 in plant drought stress resistance as well as resources for apple breeding aimed at the improvement of drought resistance. | Pengxiang Chen Mingjia Yan Lei Li Jieqiang He Shuangxi Zhou Zhongxing Li Chundong Niu Chana Bao Fang Zhi Fengwang Ma Qingmei Guan | 2020 | Horticulture Research2020,7,1: | 7 |
| 3 | Silencing of PRR11 suppresses cell proliferation and induces autophagy in NSCLC cells显示文摘Our previous studies have demonstrated that proline-rich protein 11(PRR11)is a novel tumor-related gene and implicates in regulating the proliferation in lung cancer.However,its precise role in cell cycle progression remains unclear.Our recent evidences show that PRR11 silencing has an effect on autophagy in non-small-cell lung cancer(NSCLC)cells.Two human NSCLC cell lines,H1299 and A549 were transiently transfected with against PRR11 siRNA.The Cell Counting Kit-8 and plate clone formation assay showed that downregulation of PRR11 inhibited the cell proliferation associated with cell cycle related genes reduced.And our data suggested that PRR11 depletion expression enhanced the autophagosomes formation,followed with downregulation of P62 and upregulation of LC3-II protein.Furthermore,the immunoblotting results indicated that silencing of PRR11 inactivated the Akt/mTOR signaling pathway.Collectively,these results demonstrated PRR11 had an effective role in autophagy in NSCLC cells through Akt/mTOR autophagy signaling pathways.Therefore,it is helpful to clarify the function of PRR11 in tumorigenesis of NSCLC. | Lian Zhang Yunlong Lei Ying Zhang Yi Li Youquan Bu Fangzhou Song Chundong Zhang | 2018 | Genes & Diseases2018,5,2: | 6 |
| 4 | Optimization of cantilevered piezoelectric energy harvester with a fixed resonance frequency显示文摘Piezoelectric energy harvesting is widely used to scavenge vibration energy in the environment.For some vibration sources with fixed frequency,cantilevered harvester can generate the energy effectively,so the optimization theory for cantilevered harvester in such an application is needed.In this article,we present the theoretical and experimental studies of the cantilevered piezoelectric energy harvester with a fixed resonance frequency.An analytical model based on energy method is used to estimate the open-circuit voltage and generated energy.Considering that the harvester may be subjected to the static force or steady-state sinusoidal vibration excitation,static and dynamic analysis is performed for device structure to achieve efficient energy.In the analysis,the effects of geometrical dimension on the energy harvesting performance are discussed comprehensively.Eventually,a prototype is designed and fabricated using(1-x)Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3-xPbTiO3(PMN-PT)single crystal with ultrahigh piezoelectric properties and coupling factor.Performances of the cantilever with different clamped length are evaluated under sinusoidal vibration excitation,proving the good consistency between experimental results and theoretical prediction.The established analysis can provide useful guidelines for the structure design of cantilevered piezoelectric energy harvester with a fixed resonance frequency. | LIANG Zhu XU ChunDong REN Bo DI WenNing LI Long LUO HaoSu CHEN Zhen SU Jun | 2014 | Science China(Technological Sciences)2014,57,6: | 6 |
| 5 | Sulfoalkyl ether β-cyclodextrin derivatives synthesized by a single step method as pharmaceutical biomaterials显示文摘We report a simple 'one pot' single step method to synthesize sulfoalkyl ether β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) derivatives in aqueous solution, which avoids the limitations associated with commonly used organic synthesis of such derivatives including multi-step reactions, use of expensive, toxic, and often environmentally hazardous organic solvents and/or reagents. Using this method, we obtained sulfopropyl and sulfobutyl ethyl β-CDs. We characterized these two derivatives and evaluated their ability to enhance solubility of fluconazole, a commonly used antifungal drug with poor water solubility. Experimental results indicate that these derivatives are structurally analogous to some of the commercially available β-CD derivatives. | 6 | A Sound Image Externalization Approach for Headphone Reproduction by Simulating Binaural Room Impulse Responses显示文摘In this paper, an improved sound image externalization approach is proposed by considering the essential differences between headphone listening and reallife listening to deal with the problem of in-head localization of sound images. Through simulating the virtual sound source in a given enclosure, the proposed externalization approach renders sound images out-of-head by exploiting a Binaural room impulse response(BRIR) simulation approach, which consists of a new hybrid approach for the acoustic Room impulse response(RIR) and the Head-related impulse responses(HRIRs). The hybrid RIR simulation approach comprises an improved image-source model for the early reflections by integrating the air absorption, and a Feedback delay network(FDN) for the late reflections. Moreover, the HRIRs are further integrated into each sound image in the early reflections to imitate the effect of listener. | 12 | Light intensification effect of trailing indent crack in fused silica subsurface显示文摘A finite-difference time-domain algorithm was applied to solve Maxwell’s equations to obtain the redistribution of an electromagnetic plane wave in the vicinity of a trailing indent crack(TIC).The roles of five geometrical parameters playing in light intensification were calculated numerically under the irradiation of a 355-nm normal incidence laser.The results show that the light intensity enhancements between the nearest neighbor pits were remarkable,which may lead to damage.The calculated results reveal that the light intensity enhancement factor(LIEF)can be up to 11.2 when TIC is on the rear-surface.With the increase of the length as well as the depth of pits,LIEF increased.Conversely,with the increase of the axis of pits,LIEF gradually declined to a stable status.It was observed that there exists an optima width or gap,which enables LIEF to be increased dramatically and then decreased gently.By comparison,results suggest that the worst cases occur when the depth and the length are both very large,especially if the width equals to 2?and the gap equals the width.This work provides a recommended theoretical criterion for defect inspection and classification. | ZHANG ChunLai XU Ming WANG ChunDong | 2015 | Science China(Physics,Mechanics & Astronomy)2015,58,3: | 2 |

| 14 | Genome-wide identification of droughtresponsive microRNAs in two sets of Malus from interspecific hybrid progenies显示文摘Drought stress can negatively impact apple fruit quality and yield.Apple microRNAs(miRNAs)participate in apple tree and fruit development,as well as in biotic stress tolerance;however,it is largely unknown whether these molecules are involved in the drought response.To identify drought-responsive miRNAs in Malus,we first examined the drought stress tolerance of ten F1 progenies of R3(M.×domestica)×M.sieversii.We performed Illumina sequencing on pooled total RNA from both drought-tolerant and drought-sensitive plants.The sequencing results identified a total of 206 known miRNAs and 253 candidate novel miRNAs from drought-tolerant plants and drought-sensitive plants under control or drought conditions.We identified 67 miRNAs that were differentially expressed in drought-tolerant plants compared with drought-sensitive plants under drought conditions.Under drought stress,61 and 35 miRNAs were differentially expressed in drought-tolerant and drought-sensitive plants,respectively.We determined the expression levels of seven out of eight miRNAs by stem-loop qPCR analysis.We also predicted the target genes of all differentially expressed miRNAs and identified the expression of some genes.Gene Ontology analyses indicated that the target genes were mainly involved in stimulus response and cellular and metabolic processes.Finally,we confirmed roles of two miRNAs in apple response to mannitol.Our results reveal candidate miRNAs and their associated mRNAs that could be targeted for improving drought tolerance in Malus species,thus providing a foundation for understanding the molecular networks involved in the response of apple trees to drought stress. | Chundong Niu Haiyan Li Lijuan Jiang Mingjia Yan Cuiying Li Dali Geng Yinpeng Xie Yan Yan Xiaoxia Shen Pengxiang Chen Jun Dong Fengwang Ma Qingmei Guan | 2019 | Horticulture Research2019,6,1: | 2 |

| 20 | Boosting the Photocatalytic Activity of WO3 by Highly Dispersed CoWO4 or CuWO4显示文摘WO3 photocatalyst decorated with highly dispersed CoWO4 or CuWO4 nanoparticles(CoWO4/WO3 or CuWO4/WO3) was successfully synthesized using an in-situ impregnation method followed by solid-state reaction. The structure, morphology, photophysical property, and photocatalytic degradation mechanism of the CoWO4/WO3 or CuWO4/WO3 samples were investigated by XRD, SEM, TEM, EDS, HR-TEM, UV-vis DRS, SPV, and active trapping techniques. The XRD, SEM, and TEM results have revealed that CoWO4 or CuWO4 are highly dispersed on the WO3 surface, when the loading amount of CoWO4 or CuWO4 is small. However, obvious agglomeration is observed for the CoWO4 or CuWO4 particles, when the loading amount of CoWO4 or CuWO4 was increased. The visible-light photocatalytic degradation of RhB shows that all CoWO4/WO3 or CuWO4/WO3 samples exhibit superior photocatalytic performance as compared to pure WO3. This is mainly attributed to the formation of type II heterojunction between WO3 and CoWO4 or CuWO4, which can promote the photogenerated electrons and holes separation and transfer. Moreover, it is found that 0.2% CoWO4/WO3 or 0.2% CuWO4/WO3, in which MWO4 nanoparticles are uniformly dispersed on the surface of WO3, can achieve the most excellent photocatalytic activity among CoWO4/WO3 or CuWO4/WO3 samples, respectively. As compared with WO3, an enhancement about 9.1 times or 6.8 times in photocatalytic activity is observed on 0.2% CoWO4/WO3 or 0.2% CuWO4/WO3, respectively. Furthermore, the active species trapping experiment demonstrates that ·OH, h+, and ·O-2 generated during the photocatalytic process are all the reactive species in photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B(RhB) on CoWO4/WO3 or CuWO4/WO3.
