1Controlling the gelation temperature of biomimetic polyisocyanides显示文摘Thermosensitive polymers show an entropy-driven transition from a well-solvated to a poorly solvated polymer chain, resulting in a more compact globular conformation. The transition at the lower critical solution temperature(LCST) is often sharp, which allows for a wide range of smart material applications.At the LCST, oligo(ethylene glycol)-substituted polyisocyanides(PICs) form soft hydrogels, composed of polymer bundles similar to biological gels, such as actin, fibrin and intermediate filaments. Here, we show that the LCST of PICs strongly depends linearly on the length of the ethylene glycol(EG) tails; every EG group increases the LCSTand thus the gelation temperature by nearly 30 ℃. Using a copolymerisation approach, we demonstrate that we can precisely tailor the gelation temperature between 10 ℃ and 60 ℃and, consequently, tune the mechanical properties of the PIC gels.Paul H.J. 7Hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma-a rare entity in the oral cavity: A case report显示文摘BACKGROUND Hyalinizing clear cell carcinoma(HCCC)is an uncommon tumor that originates in the salivary glands.This neoplasia constitutes less than 1%of minor salivary gland tumors.CASE SUMMARY A 67-year-old female visited the maxillofacial surgery department owing to a smooth,slightly yellowish protruding mass on the left side of the floor of the mouth,at the level of the molars;the tumor mass had a soft consistency on palpation and did not adhere to deep planes.The microscopical analysis of the excisional biopsy showed that the lesion was composed of sheets and cords of clear cells separated by thick eosinophilic bands of hyaline collagen.Normal glandular tissue was absent,periodic acid-Schiff with and without diastase stains,and immunohistochemical reactions were performed to confirm the diagnosis.This is the second case reported in the literature of HCCC arising in the floor of the mouth.CONCLUSION HCCC is a rare salivary gland tumor that has not been studied extensively.Its diagnosis is usually challenging,because clinically,it can be confused with a benign neoplasm.Alejandro Donohue-Cornejo Oslei Paes de Almeida Celeste Sánchez-Romero León Francisco Espinosa-Cristóbal Simón Yobanny Reyes-López Juan Carlos Cuevas-González 2020World Journal of Clinical Cases2020,8,1:1

10Soil Attributes in Anthropized Hygrophilous Forest in Northern Minas Gerais State,Brazil显示文摘The soils of Brazilian Cerrado are characterized with high acidity and low fertility and productivity.However,these attributes are not homogeneously distributed through all phytophysiognomies of this biome,and wetland known as palm swamp or“veredas”are an exception.This study aimed to describe and compare the chemical and physical attributes of soil surface layers at six palm swamps areas under different anthropization processes in the northern region of Minas Gerais state,Brazil.Soil sampling of different hydromorphic soils were collected at 0-20 cm depth layer from 100 m2 plots in the studied areas.The variables were compared using the GLM procedure of ANOVA using Statistica 10 software.Soil chemical attributes and similarities between the six palm swamps areas were compared using the statistical software R.Soil chemical attributes were different and soil physical attributes were similar between the evaluated areas.The similarities among the attributes were classified into three groups according to the anthropic pressures,as well as with the origin of the soil material in the six palm swamps areas evaluated.It could be concluded that soil fertility can be reduced in palm swamps that suffered greater anthropic intervention.The three similarity groups might be associated not only to the anthropic pressures,but also to the raw material of soil at the six palm swamps areas evaluated.Maria das Dores Magalhaes Veloso Luiz Arnaldo Fernandes Marly Antonielle deávila le Roberta Ferreira Nunes Leidivan Almeida Frazao 2018Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology(B)2018,8,5:0
