3Influences of pulse electric current treatment on solidification microstructures and mechanical properties of Al-Si piston alloys显示文摘Three kinds of Al-Si piston alloys were prepared and subjected to pulse electric current treatment (PECT)at different pouring temperatures.Some aspects of the solidification microstructures were examined including the morphology and the distribution of the matrix and the secondary phases by using of optical microscopy(OM),SEM and EDS methods.Results indicate that PECT can refine the grains of a-Al in the alloys as effectively as chemical modification by sodium salt.The processing parameters of PECT on the multi-component Al-Si alloys were then optimized through the testing of tensile strength,elongation and microhardness of the prepared alloys.A new theory was put forward to explain the mechanism of PECT.Ding Hongsheng Zhang Yong Jiang Sanyong Chen Ruirun Zhao Zhilong Guo Jingjie Xu Daming Fu Hengzhi 2009China Foundry2009,6,1:6
4Effect of Preparation Process on Compressive Strength and Hydrogenation Performance of Raney-Ni/Al2O3 Catalyst显示文摘In this study, Raney-Ni/Al_2O_3 catalysts were prepared from precursors which were calcined in different atmosphere(argon and air) and leached for different time. XRD, SEM, H_2-TPR and BET techniques were introduced to characterize the catalysts, and hydrogenation of unsaturated hydrocarbons, including vinyltoluene, dicyclopentadiene and indene, was used as probe reaction to evaluate the catalytic hydrogenation performance of the catalysts. The results demonstrated that the calcination atmosphere had noticeable effects on the compressive strength and hydrogenation performance of Raney-Ni/Al_2O_3. The catalyst calcined in argon exhibited better compressive strength and catalytic performance than the one calcined in air. The compressive strength and activity stability of catalyst were also determined by the leaching time. A too longer leaching time was not conducive to improving the compressive strength and catalytic performance of catalysts. When the precursor calcined in argon was treated in a 15%(by wt.) sodium hydroxide solution at 343 K for 5 h, a catalyst with higher compressive strength(at 26.10 N/mm) was obtained and the conversion of vinyltoluene, dicyclopentadiene(DCPD), and indene could amount to more than 87.5%, 99% and even 100%, respectively, under the reaction conditions covering a temperature of 493 K, a hydrogen pressure of 2.0 MPa, a LSHV of 3.0 h^(-1), and a hydrogen/oil ratio of 200:1.Luo Guohua Wang Yanli Sun Daming Xu Xin Jin Haibo 2017China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2017,19,2:5
5Feed intake prediction model for group fish using the MEA-BP neural network in intensive aquaculture显示文摘In aquaculture,the accurate prediction of feed intake for group fish is considered to be crucial to any feeding system.Previous studies mainly used mathematical statistics to establish the mapping relationship between feed intake and influencing factors.The result was easily influenced by subjective experience.To solve the above issues,this paper proposed a feed intake prediction model for group fish using the back-propagation neural network(BPNN)and mind evolutionary algorithm(MEA).Firstly,four factors,including water temperature,dissolved oxygen,the average fish weight and the number of fish were selected as the input of the BPNN model.Secondly,the initial weight and threshold of the BPNN were optimized by the MEA to improve the matching precision.Finally,the prediction model was achieved after training.Experimental results showed that the correlation coefficient between the predicted and measured values reached 0.96.And the root mean squared error,mean square error,mean absolute error,mean absolute percent error of the model was 6.89,47.53,6.17 and 0.04,respectively.In addition,the proposed method also had the better nonlinear fitting ability than BPNN and GA-BP.By using an intelligent optimization algorithm,the mapping relationship between fish intake and environmental factors was automatically established,thus avoiding the subjectivity of traditional methods.Therefore,it can lay a theoretical foundation for the development of intelligent feeding equipment and meet the needs of the smart fishery.Lan Chen Xinting Yang Chuanheng Sun Yizhong Wang Daming Xu Chao Zhou 2020Information Processing in Agriculture2020,7,2:5
6Effects of centrifugal and Coriolis forces on the mold-filling behavior of titanium melts in vertically rotating molds显示文摘The vertical centrifugal-casting technique is widely used in the manufacture of various irregularly-shaped castings of advanced structural alloys with thin walls,complex shapes and/or large sizes.These castings are used in the increasing applications in aero-space/aviation industries,human teeth/bone repairs with near-net shaped components,etc.In a vertically rotating casting system,the mold-filling processes of alloy melts,coupled with solidification-heat transfer,may be much more complicated,because they are driven simultaneously by gravity,centrifugal and Coriolis forces.In the present work,an N-S/VOF-equations-based model,solved using a SOLA-VOF algorithm,under a rotating coordinate system was applied to numerically investigate the impacts of centrifugal and Coriolis forces on metallic melt mold-filling processes in different vertical centrifugal-casting configurations with different mold-rotation rates using an authors'computer-codes system.The computational results show that the Coriolis force may cause remarkable variations in the flow patterns in the casting-part-cavities of a large horizontal-section area and directly connected to the sprue via a short ingate in a vertical centrifugal-casting process.A'turn-back'mold-filling technique,which only takes advantage of the centrifugal force in a transient rotating melt system,has been confirmed to be a rational centrifugal-casting process in order to achieve smooth and layer-by-layer casting-cavities-filling control.The simulated mold-filling processes of Ti-6Al-4V alloy melt,in a vertical centrifugal-casting system with horizontally-connected plate-casting cavities,show reasonable agreement with experimental results from the literature.Xu Daming Jia Limin Fu Hengzhi 2008China Foundry2008,5,4:4
7Surface-defective FeS2 for electrochemical NH3 production under ambient conditions显示文摘In the viewpoint of ammonia economy,electrochemical N2 reduction reaction(NRR)under mild condition is a very promising approach for sustainable development.By virtue of robust activity and low cost,transition-metalbased materials become one kind of the most attractive electrocatalysts in realizing ammonia synthesis to the industrial level.However,the investigation related to NRR electrocatalysts still mainly rely on costly substance or fabrication process,which greatly restrict their large-scale applications.In this work,a simple fabricated FeS2 electrode is adopted as NRR catalysts.The abundant surface defects due to the existence of Cr element,as well as the synergistic effect between FeS2 crystal planes provided excellent electrocatalytic performance with a high NH3 yield rate(11.5μg h^-1mg^-1 Fe)and Faradaic efficiency(14.6%)at-0.2 V vs.reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE)toward NRR under ambient conditions.The superior catalytic performance of such non-precious metal catalysts would strongly promote the application of NRR process industrially.Daming Feng Xu Zhang Ying Sun Tianyi Ma 2020Nano Materials Science2020,2,2:3
8Thermo-Calc based multi-component micro-segregation model and solidification paths calculations显示文摘On the basis of a multi-length scale modeling, a mixture-averaged multi-component /multiphase micro-segregation model was proposed without pre-set function for the micro-scale solute profile. The model explains the effect of morphologies of solidifying phases and solid back diffusion (SBD) on segregation, and covers the two limiting solidification cases of Scheil and Lever-rule models. A commercial Thermo-Calc software package/database was linked to the algorithms via its TQ6-interface for instantaneous determination of the related thermodynamic data of the multi-component alloys. The influences of cooling rate and other parameters on the solidification path and micro-segregation behavior were numerically investigated by sample calculation of the ternary Al-Cu-Mg alloys. A parallel experimental investigation on Al-Cu-Si alloys solidified under different cooling conditions was conducted to validate the theoretical model. 9Numerical simulation of flow and heat transfer of continous cast steel slab under traveling magnetic field显示文摘A unified numerical model for simulating solidification transport phenomena (STP) of steel slab in electromagnetic continuous casting (EMCC) process was developed. In order to solve the multi-physics fields coupled problem conveniently, the complicated bidirectional coupled process between EM and STP was simplified as a unidirectional one, and a FEM/FVM-combined numerical simulation technique was adopted. The traveling magnetic fields (TMFs) applied to the EMCC process were calculated using the ANSYS11.0 software, and then the EM-data output by ANSYS were converted to FVM-format using a data-format conversion program developed previously. Thereafter, the governing equations were solved using a pressure-based Direct-SIMPLE algorithm. The simulation results of the STP in CC-process show that, due to the influences of Lorentz force and Joule heat, the two strong circulating flows and the temperature field can be obviously damped and changed once TMF with one pair of poles (1-POPs) or 2-POPs is applied, which would accordingly improve the quality of casting. It was found in the present research that the integrated actions of 2-POPs TMF are superior to 1-POPs. 10Direct Growth of Graphene on Silicon by Metal-Free Chemical Vapor Deposition显示文摘The metal-free synthesis of graphene on singlecrystal silicon substrates, the most common commercial semiconductor, is of paramount significance for many technological applications. In this work, we report the growth of graphene directly on an upside-down placed,single-crystal silicon substrate using metal-free, ambientpressure chemical vapor deposition. By controlling the growth temperature, in-plane propagation, edge-propagation, and core-propagation, the process of graphene growth on silicon can be identified. This process produces atomically flat monolayer or bilayer graphene domains, concave bilayer graphene domains, and bulging few-layer graphene domains. 11^(40)Ar/^(39)Ar analysis of supergene yavapaiite and preliminary investigation on Ar closure temperature显示文摘Yavapaiite (KFe(SO4)2) is a new sulfate mineral with high potassium content, discovered in the oxidation zone of non-ferrous metal mining in the Tu-Ha Basin, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, northwestern China.Dating of this mineral by the K-Ar and 40Ar/39Ar method allows us to study the time and process of the region's aridity, and further we can provide some insight into the influence of not only the Tibetan Plateau uplift but also formation and evolution of polar ice caps on climate of this region.However, as the temperature of this region is up to 60℃ in summer, it is still questionable whether this high temperature causes the diffusive loss of 40Ar from yavapaiite in a long time, or whether the fine grain of the mineral can lead to diffusive loss of 40Ar from yavapaiite.These are important for interpreting the mineral age data.According to diffusion theory, we use 40Ar/39Ar step heating experiment to determine the apparent Ar diffusivity.Then we present a simple model of diffusive loss and radiogenic in-growth to evaluate the effect of extreme high ambient temperature and the grain size upon the Ar age.The experimental results show that the diffusion parameters as follows: the activation energy Ea is 71.30 kcal/mol and the frequency factor logD0/a2 is 13.71/s, the corresponding closure temperature Tc is 294℃ (assuming a cooling rate of 10℃/Ma), and the activation energy and closure temperature are very high.The simulation results show that the high ambient temperature and the grain size have no effect on the Ar age after yavapaiite was precipitated.Furthermore, the reproducibility of the age attests to the suitability of supergene yavapaiite for K-Ar and 40Ar/39Ar dating.YANG Jing ZHENG DeWen LI DaMing XU YingXia YU ShuYan 2012Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,12:2

14Mold Filling Behavior of Melts with Different Viscosity under Centrifugal Force Field显示文摘Recently proposed mathematical model for mold filling processes under centrifugal force field conditions and the computer codes were first tested through the sample simulation of gravity mold filling process for a benchmark plate-casting, which were compared with quoted experimental observations. The model and the developed computer program were then applied to the numerical simulation of centrifugal field mold filling processes for a thin-section casting with a titanium alloy melt of assumed viscosity of 1.2 and 12.0 mm2/s, respectively. 16Method for segmentation of overlapping fish images in aquaculture显示文摘Individual fish segmentation is a prerequisite for feature extraction and object identification in any machine vision system.In this paper,a method for segmentation of overlapping fish images in aquaculture was proposed.First,the shape factor was used to determine whether an overlap exists in the picture.Then,the corner points were extracted using the curvature scale space algorithm,and the skeleton obtained by the improved Zhang-Suen thinning algorithm.Finally,intersecting points were obtained,and the overlapped region was segmented.The results show that the average error rate and average segmentation efficiency of this method was 10%and 90%,respectively.Compared with the traditional watershed method,the separation point is accurate,and the segmentation accuracy is high.Thus,the proposed method achieves better performance in segmentation accuracy and effectiveness.This method can be applied to multi-target segmentation and fish behavior analysis systems,and it can effectively improve recognition precision.Chao Zhou Kai Lin Daming Xu Jintao Liu Song Zhang Chuanheng Sun Xinting Yang 2019International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2019,12,6:1
17Science with the 2.5-meter Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST)显示文摘The Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST) is a dedicated photometric surveying facility being built jointly by University of Science and Technology of China(USTC) and the Purple Mountain Observatory(PMO). It is equipped with a 2.5-meter diameter primary mirror, an active optics system, and a mosaic CCD camera with 0.73 gigapixels on the primary focal plane for highquality image capture over a 6.5-square-degree field of view. The installation of WFST near the summit of Saishiteng mountain in the Lenghu region is scheduled in summer of 2023, and the operation is planned to start three months later. WFST will scan the northern sky in four optical bands(u, g, r and i) at cadences from hourly/daily in the deep high-cadence survey(DHS) program, to semi-weekly in the wide field survey(WFS) program. During a photometric night, a nominal 30 s exposure in the WFS program will reach a depth of 22.27, 23.32, 22.84, and 22.31(AB magnitudes) in these four bands, respectively, allowing for the detection of a tremendous amount of transients in the low-z universe and a systematic investigation of the variability of Galactic and extragalactic objects. In the DHS program, intranight 90 s exposures as deep as 23(u) and 24 mag(g), in combination with target of opportunity follow-ups, will provide a unique opportunity to explore energetic transients in demand for high sensitivities, including the electromagnetic counterparts of gravitational wave events, supernovae within a few hours of their explosions,tidal disruption events and fast, luminous optical transients even beyond redshift of unity. In addition, the final 6-year co-added images, anticipated to reach g■25.8 mag in WFS or 1.5 mags deeper in DHS, will be of fundamental importance to general Galactic and extragalactic science. The highly uniform legacy surveys of WFST will serve as an indispensable complement to those of the Vera C.
