| 1 | Fuzzy interface treatment in Eulerian method显示文摘In this paper, we incorporate fuzzy mathematics approach into the Eulerian method to simulate three dimensional multi-material interfaces. In particular, we propose a fuzzy interface treatment for describing interfaces, designing transport plans, and computing transport quantities. Using a set of three-dimensional inviscid isothermal elastic-plastic hydrodynamic equations, we simulate shaped charge jet in different filled dynamite structures. Strain and stress have been under consideration in simulations. | 2 | Influence of obstacle disturbance in a duct on explosion characteristics of coal gas显示文摘In combination with experimental research,numerical simulation is performed to investigate the influence law of the obstacles in a duct on the explosion flame of premixed coal gas and air. The numerical method uses upwind WENO scheme and two-step chemical reaction model. The interaction mechanism is addressed between the compression wave from reflection on the right end of the duct and flame propagation. The reflected wave is found to result in the decrease of flame velocity. On this basis,we analyze the mechanism of the obstacles on flame as well as the law of flow field variation thus caused. The results suggest that,due to the obstacles,deflagration wave is repeatedly reflected,combustible gas mixture is fully compressed,temperature and pressure rise,chemical reaction speed increases,and hence flame intensity is strengthened. At the same time,a tripe point forms as a result of wall reflection of the deflagration wave from the obstacles and furthermore local flame speed increases. As the triple point propagates forward,the flame speed gradually decreases due to dissipation of energy. | 3 | Fracture characteristics of concrete subjected to impact loading显示文摘This paper takes concrete as a four-phase composite made of the intact matrix and three mutually perpendicular groups of penny-shaped micro-cracks. The intact matrix is assumed to be elastic,homogeneous and isotropic,and the micro-cracks are penny-shaped. Combined with the failure mechanism of concrete subjected to impact loading,a dynamic constitutive model for concrete is developed based on Mori-Tanaka's average stress concept and Eshelby's equivalent inclusion theory. Experimental results show that concrete is rate-dependent. The model predictions are in good agreement with the experimental results. | 10 | Numerical and experimental investigation of the fracture behavior of shock loaded alumina显示文摘Plate impact expeiments are conducted to investigate the dynamic behavior of alumina by using one stage light gas gun. A ve-locity interferometer system for reflectors (VISAR) is used to obtain Hugoniot elastic limit and the free surface velocity profile,which consists of an elastic wave followed immediately by a dispersive inelastic wave. The stress histories under different impact velocities are measured by in-material manganin gauges. Based on the experimental data a Hugoniot curve is fitted,which shows the compressive characteristics that alumina changes typically from elastic to 'plastic' ,and under higher pressure it will be transferred to similar-fluid state. The turning point of the Hugoniot curve from a high pressure region to a low pressure region is about 11.4 GPa. The fracture process of alumina is simulated by way of finite element code. After the analysis of the fracture mechanism,the numerical results show an important role played by the nucleation and the growth of the cracks in the macro-scopic fracture of the alumina target. | 11 | Theoretical observation of hexaatomic molecules containing pentacoordinate planar carbon显示文摘The smallest molecules up to date containing a D5h pentacoordinate planar carbon (PPC) atom, CBe5 and CBe54-, are presented by means of ab initio calculations. To gain a better understanding about which electronic factors contribute to their stabilization, natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis and the nucleus independent chemical shifts (NICS) were calculated. The data reported here suggest that D5h CBe5 is σ aromaticity in nature, while in D5h CBe54- π aromaticity is dominating. The classical octet rule is well satisfied in both molecules, and is one of the fundamental reasons to understand the stability of the pentagon structures. The Be5 ring serves as σ donor in D5h CBe5, and π-acceptor in D5h CBe54-. | 13 | A thermal-mechanical constitutive model for b-HMX single crystal and cohesive interface under dynamic high pressure loading显示文摘Due to the significant thermal-mechanical effects during hot spot formation in PBX explosives,a thermodynamic constitutive model has been constructed for HMX anisotropic single crystal subjected to dynamic impact loading. The crystal plasticity model based on dislocation dynamics theory was employed to describe the anisotropic plastic behavior along the preferential slip systems. A modified equation of state (EOS) was introduced into the constitutive equations through the decomposing stress tensor and the nonlinear elasticity for materials was taken into account. The one-dimensional strain impact simulations for HMX single crystal and quasi-bicrystal were performed respectively,in which the cohesive elements were inserted over the interface areas for the latter. The predicted particle velocities for the single crystal sample agreed well with the experimental results in the literature. | 14 | A study on compressive shock wave propagation in metallic foams显示文摘Metallic foam can dissipate a large amount of energy due to its relatively long stress plateau,which makes it widely applicable in the design of structural crashworthiness. However,in some experimental studies,stress enhancement has been observed when the specimens are subjected to intense impact loads,leading to severe damage to the objects being protected. This paper studies this phenomenon on a 2D mass-spring-bar model. With the model,a constitutive relationship of metal foam and corresponding loading and unloading criteria are presented; a nonlinear kinematics equilibrium equation is derived,where an explicit integra-tion algorithm is used to calculate the characteristic of the compressive shock wave propagation within the metallic foam; the effect of heterogeneous distribution of foam microstructures on the shock wave features is also included. The results reveal that under low impact pulses,considerable energy is dissipated during the progressive collapse of foam cells,which then reduces the crush of objects. When the pulse is sufficiently high,on the other hand,stress enhancement may take place,especially in the heterogeneous foams,where high peak stresses usually occur. The characteristics of compressive shock wave propagation in the foam and the magnitude and location of the peak stress produced are strongly dependent on the mechanical properties of the foam material,amplitude and period of the pulse,as well as the homogeneity of the microstructures. | 15 | A constitutive model of frozen soil with damage and numerical simulation for the coupled problem显示文摘Based on the microcosmic mechanics of composite materials, an elastic constitutive model for frozen soil with damage is presented. For frozen sandy soil with a range of ice contents and under a range of temperature conditions, quantitative results determined by this constitutive model agree with practically measured stress-strain curves. After numerically simulating the coupled water, temperature and stress fields of channel frozen and frozen roadbed using a self-developed finite-element routine, more accurate and practical calculation results for the temperature field coupled with stress, displacement and strain fields are obtained; the results match predictions and tests undertaken by earlier researchers. Our results support the reliability of our routine for calculating interdependent physical quantities of frozen soil and for describing the relationships between them. | 17 | Synthesis,Crystal Structure, Thermal Decomposition and Sensitivity Properties of (AIM)(HTNR) and (AIM)(PA)显示文摘Two new energetic compounds (AIM)(HTNR) and (AIM)(PA)(AIM=2-azidoimidazole, TNR=2,4,6-trini troresorcinol, PA=picric acid) have been prepared by AIM(2-azidoimidazolium) and TNR(2,4,6-trinitroresorcinol) or PA(picric acid) and characterized by elemental analysis and FTIR spectrum. Their crystal structures were determined by X-ray single-crystal diffraction analysis. The obtained results show that (AIM)(HTNR) crystal belongs to monoc linic, P21/c space group, a=1.1306(2) nm, b=0.70305(14) nm, c=1.7398(4) nm, β=106.91°, V=1.3231(5) nm3, Dc=1.778 g/cm3, Z=4, R1=0.0524, wR2[I >2σ(I)]=0.1067 and S=1.092 and (AIM)(PA) crystal belongs to monoclinic P21/c space group, a=0.80303(16) nm, b=0.81395(16) nm, c=2.0471(4) nm, β=93.93(3)°, V=1.3349(5) nm3, Dc=1.683 g/cm3, Z=4, R1=0.0784, wR2[I>2σ(I)]=0.1814 and S=1.098. Both the compounds have electrostatic attraction and hy drogen bonds, which contribute to making the constructions more stable. The decomposition of the two compounds was studied via differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and thermogravimetry-derivative thermogravimetry(TG-DTG) techniques at a heating rate of 10 oC/min, and the results show that both the compounds underwent one intensive exothermic decomposition stage.
