1松墨天牛对共生真菌和病原真菌的差异性免疫响应显示文摘在中国,入侵生物松材线虫进行传播的主要媒介昆虫松墨天牛(Monochamus alternatus)可与一种中国本地蓝变真菌Sporothrix sp.1建立体外共生关系.然而在天牛和真菌共生互作过程中,松墨天牛对蓝变菌S.sp.1的免疫响应却未见报道.因此,本文通过比较体外共生真菌S.sp.1和昆虫病原真菌球孢白僵菌(Beauveria bassiana)感染松墨天牛蛹所产生的免疫反应,发现天牛对两种菌的免疫应答方式具有显著性差异.将真菌注射到刚化蛹的天牛体内,S.sp.1感染的天牛不会死亡,B.bassiana感染的天牛则全部死亡.转录组测序结果显示,B.bassiana感染48 h后的松墨天牛的差异表达基因数量是S.sp.1感染的2倍.值得注意的是,在体外共生真菌感染的松墨天牛免疫系统中起主导作用的是Toll和IMD信号通路;而在昆虫病原真菌感染松墨天牛后,只有Toll信号通路上调表达.此外,体外共生真菌S.sp.1在感染天牛48 h后可通过下调天牛的Toll通路和IMD通路来产生免疫逃避.本研究提供了松墨天牛转录组全测序数据,为后续松墨天牛和其相关真菌互作研究提供了基础.张伟 孟洁 宁静 秦培君 周娇 邹振 王燕红 江红 Faheem Ahmad 赵莉蔺 孙江华 2017中国科学:生命科学2017,47,9:4

6Performance Evaluation of Topological Infrastructure in Internet-of-Things-Enabled Serious Games显示文摘Serious games have recently enticed many researchers due to their wide range of capabilities.A serious game is a mean of gaming for a serious job such as healthcare,education,and entertainment purposes.With the advancement in the Internet of Things,new research directions are paving the way in serious games.However,the internet connectivity of players in Internetof-things-enabled serious games is a matter of concern and has been worth investigating.Different studies on topologies,frameworks,and architecture of communication technologies are conducted to integrate them with serious games on machine and network levels.However,the Internet of things,whose core requirement is the provision of connectivity on the application layer,has different challenges for more dynamic applications such as serious games.The performance of Internet-of-things-enabled serious games depends on the type of infrastructure(wired,wireless)network and Mobile Ad-hoc Network(MANET)and is subtly different from one type of network to another.This paper investigates the connectivity challenges in the Internet-of-thingsenabled serious games using the mentioned infrastructure and identifies the core requirements for these games.It also aims to evaluate various parameters such as reliability,scalability,response time,to name a few,with varying infrastructure and network types.Results highlight the preliminary infrastructure finding and highlight the core setup for which the games are deployed.Moreover,this work will be a steppingstone for architecting the connectivity in serious games in a typical smart space with many infrastructures such as wired networks,wireless networks,and MANET.Shabir Ahmad Faheem Khan Taeg Keun Whangbo 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,5:0
7New insights on the utilization of ultrasonicated mustard seed cake:chemical composition and antagonistic potential for root-knot nematode,Meloidogyne javanica显示文摘This study focused,for the first time,on the effect of ultrasonic features on the extraction efficiency of secondary metabolites in mustard seed cake(MSC).The nematostatic potential of sonicated seed cake was examined against the second-stage juveniles(J2s)of root-knot nematode,Meloidogyne javanica.The results show that a 35 ppm(parts per million)concentration of a sonicated extract(SE)sample of MSC caused 65%J2s mortality at 18 h exposure period in vitro.It also significantly suppressed the root-knot index(RKI=0.94)in tomato roots.The lethal concentration values for SE were 51.76,29.79,and 13.34 ppm,respectively,at 6,12,and 18 h of the exposure period,and the lethal concentration values for the non-sonicated extract(NSE)sample were 116.95,76.38,and 55.59 ppm,respectively,at similar exposure time.Sinapine and gluconapin were identified as the major compounds in ultrasonic-assisted MSC.Because of the high extraction efficiency of metabolites in the SE,all treat‐ments of SE were shown to be antagonistic to J2s.Thus,this study of ultrasonication activity-based profiling of MSC may help generate target-based compounds at a scale relevant to the control of disease caused by nematodes in economic crops.Hera NADEEM Pieter MALAN Amir KHAN Mohd ASIF Mansoor AHMAD SIDDIQUI Simon TUHAFENI ANGOMBE Faheem AHMAD 2021Journal of Zhejiang University-Science B(Biomedicine & Biotechnology)2021,22,7:0
8D^(2)PAM:Epileptic seizures prediction using adversarial deep dual patch attention mechanism显示文摘Epilepsy is considered as a serious brain disorder in which patients frequently experience seizures.The seizures are defined as the unexpected electrical changes in brain neural activity,which leads to unconsciousness.Existing researches made an intense effort for predicting the epileptic seizures using brain signal data.However,they faced difficulty in obtaining the patients'characteristics because the model's distribution turned to fake predictions,affecting the model's reliability.In addition,the existing prediction models have severe issues,such as overfitting and false positive rates.To overcome these existing issues,we propose a deep learning approach known as Deep dual‐patch attention mechanism(D^(2)PAM)for classifying the pre‐ictal signals of people with Epilepsy based on the brain signals.Deep neural network is integrated with D^(2)PAM,and it lowers the effect of differences between patients to predict ES.The multi‐network design enhances the trained model's generalisability and stability efficiently.Also,the proposed model for processing the brain signal is designed to transform the signals into data blocks,which is appropriate for pre‐ictal classification.The earlier warning of epilepsy with the proposed model obtains the auxiliary diagnosis.The data of real patients for the experiments provides the improved accuracy by D2PAM approximation compared to the existing techniques.To be more distinctive,the authors have analysed the performance of their work with five patients,and the accuracy comes out to be 95%,97%,99%,99%,and 99%respectively.Overall,the numerical results unveil that the proposed work outperforms the existing models.Arfat Ahmad Khan Rakesh Kumar Madendran Usharani Thirunavukkarasu Muhammad Faheem 2023CAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology2023,8,3:0
9Sentiment Analysis in Social Media for Competitive Environment Using Content Analysis显示文摘Education sector has witnessed several changes in the recent past.These changes have forced private universities into fierce competition with each other to get more students enrolled.This competition has resulted in the adoption of marketing practices by private universities similar to commercial brands.To get competitive gain,universities must observe and examine the students’feedback on their own social media sites along with the social media sites of their competitors.This study presents a novel framework which integrates numerous analytical approaches including statistical analysis,sentiment analysis,and text mining to accomplish a competitive analysis of social media sites of the universities.These techniques enable local universities to utilize social media for the identification of the most-discussed topics by students as well as based on the most unfavorable comments received,major areas for improvement.A comprehensive case study was conducted utilizing the proposed framework for competitive analysis of few top ranked international universities as well as local private universities in Lahore Pakistan.Experimental results show that diversity of shared content,frequency of posts,and schedule of updates,are the key areas for improvement for the local universities.Based on the competitive intelligence gained several recommendations are included in this paper that would enable local universities generally and Riphah international university(RIU)Lahore specifically to promote their brand and increase their attractiveness for potential students using social media and launch successful marketing campaigns targeting a large number of audiences at significantly reduced cost resulting in an increased number of enrolments.Shahid Mehmood Imran Ahmad Muhammad Adnan Khan Faheem Khan T.Whangbo 2022Computers, Materials & Continua2022,,6:0
10Hanging force analysis for realizing low vibration of grape clusters during speedy robotic post-harvest handling显示文摘Mechanical damage induced by vibration during harvesting and post-harvest handling could decrease the quality,quantity,and shelf life of the fresh grape cluster.Usually,fresh grape clusters are harvested by gripping and cutting from the main rachis in the present robotic harvesting system,then transported towards the basket during post-harvest handling.However,serious cluster vibration and corresponding berry falling may occur during the robotic transportation of hanging grape clusters.Therefore,this study was designed to perform experimental and theoretical hanging force analysis to explore the vibration mechanism of hanging grape clusters during robotic transportation.A lead screw lathe with an attached linear actuator was used to investigate the effects of four different speeds(0.4,0.6,0.8,1.0 m/s)with four acceleration levels(6,8,10,12 m/s2)on the vibration of the hanging grape cluster.By the experiments,the peak hanging force of the grape cluster at the start,constant speed,and stop phase of the actuator was recorded using a single axis force sensor,and the cluster’s swing angle was measured with a digital camera.The experimental results showed a linear relationship between the swing angle and hanging force of the cluster at the start and stop phase of the actuator.The multi-stage cluster’s vibration during robotic transportation was observed,and the behavior of cycled damping after a sudden stop of the actuator was found.The simulated results of hanging force of grape cluster in damping phase were agreed with experimental results with R2 more than 0.90 at an optimum acceleration of 10 m/s2.To conclude,this research provides theoretical basics for understanding the complex vibration mechanism of the hanging cluster fruits during speedy robotic transportation operations with low-loss of berry drop both on industrial and farm levels.Muhammad Faheem Jizhan Liu Guozheng Chang Ibrar Ahmad Yun Peng 2021International Journal of Agricultural and Biological Engineering2021,14,4:0
11Differential immune responses of Monochamus alternatus against symbiotic and entomopathogenic fungi显示文摘Monochamus alternates,the main vector beetles of invasive pinewood nematode,has established a symbiotic relationship with a native ectotrophic fungal symbiont,Sporothrix sp.1,in China.The immune response ofM.alternates to S.sp.1 in the coexistence of beetles and fungi is,however,unknown.Here,we report that immune responses ofM.alternates pupae to infection caused by ectotrophic symbiotic fungus S.sp.1 and entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana differ significantly.The S.sp.1 did not kill the beetles while B.bassiana killed all upon injection.The transcriptome results showed that the numbers of differentially expressed genes in M.alternates infected with S.sp.1 were 2-fold less than those infected with B.bassiana at 48 hours post infection.It was noticed that Toll and IMD pathways played a leading role in the beetle's immune system when infected by symbiotic fungus,but upon infection by entomopathogenic fungus,only the Toll pathway gets triggered actively.Furthermore,the beetles could tolerate the infection of symbiotic fungi by retracing their Toll and IMD pathways at 48 h.This study provided a comprehensive sequence resource ofM.alternates transcriptome for further study of the immune interactions between host and associated fungi.Wei Zhang Jie Meng Jing Ning Peijun Qin Jiao Zhou Zhen Zou Yanhong Wang Hong Jiang Faheem Ahmad Lilin Zha Jianghua Sun 2017Science China(Life Sciences)2017,60,8:0
12Acetylcholinesterase and Cytotoxic Activity of Chemical Constituents of Clutia lanceolata Leaves and its Molecular Docking Study显示文摘Phytochemical investigations of the ethanolic extract of leaves of Clutia lanceolata(Family:Euphorbiaceae)resulted in the isolation of four compounds viz.3,4-dihydroxy-2-methylbenzoic acid(1),2,20-dihydroxy-1,10-binaphthyl(2),1,3,8-trihydroxy-6-methylanthracene-9,10-dione(3)and 5-hydroxy-1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)hepta-1,4,6-trien-3-one(4).Although all the isolated compounds were known but this was the first report from this plant source.Their structures were established on the basis of chemical and physical evidences viz.elemental analysis,FT-IR,1 H-NMR,13CNMR and mass spectral analysis.Structure of compound 2 and 4 was further authenticated by single-crystal X-ray analysis and density functional theory calculations.The isolated compounds(1–4)were screened for AChE enzyme inhibition assay in which compound 3 and 4 were found to be more potent AChE inhibitor.Molecular docking study of potent AChE inhibitor was performed to find the probable binding mode of the compounds into the active site of receptor.Moreover,the isolated compounds were also screened for in vivo cytotoxicity by brine shrimp lethality assay.Mehtab Parveen Faheem Ahmad Ali Mohammed Malla Shaista Azaz Mahboob Alam Omer A.Basudan Manuela Ramos Silva Pedro S.Pereira Silva 2016Natural Products and Bioprospecting2016,6,6:0
