1Genome-wide identification,molecular evolution, and expression divergence of the hexokinase gene family in apple显示文摘Hexokinase(HXK)is the first irreversible catalytic enzyme in the glycolytic pathway,which not only provides energy for plant growth and development but also serves as a signaling molecule in response to environmental changes.However,the evolutionary pattern of the HXK gene family in apple remains unknown.In this study,a total of nine HXK genes were identified in the Malus×domestica genome GDDH13 v1.1.The physiological and biochemical properties,exonintron structures,conserved motifs,and cis-elements of the MdHXK genes were determined.Predicted subcellular localization indicated that the MdHXK genes were mainly distributed in the mitochondria,cytoplasm,and nucleus.Gene duplication revealed that whole-genome duplication(WGD)and segmental duplication played vital roles in MdHXK gene family expansion.Theωvalues of pairwise MdHXK genes indicated that this family was subjected to strong purifying selection during apple domestication.Additionally,five subfamilies were classified,and recent/old duplication events were identified based on phylogenetic tree analysis.Different evolutionary rates were estimated among the various HXK subfamilies.Moreover,divergent expression patterns of the MdHXK genes in four source-sink tissues and at five different apple fruit developmental stages indicated that they play vital roles in apple fruit development and sugar accumulation.Our study provides a theoretical basis for future elucidation of the biological functions of the MdHXK genes during apple fruit development.ZHU Ling-cheng SU Jing JIN Yu-ru ZHAO Hai-yan TIAN Xiao-cheng ZHANG Chen MA Fengwang LI Ming-jun MA Bai-quan 2021Journal of Integrative Agriculture2021,20,8:2
2The mitigation effects of exogenous dopamine on low nitrogen stress in Malus hupehensis显示文摘Dopamine plays numerous physiological roles in plants.We explored its role in the regulation of growth,nutrient absorption,and response to nitrogen(N)deficiency in Malus hupehensis Rehd.Under low N condition,plant growth slowed,and the net photosynthetic rates,chlorophyll contents,and maximal quantum yield of PSII(Fv/Fm)decreased significantly.However,the application of 100μmol L−1 exogenous dopamine significantly reduced the inhibition of low N stress on plant growth.In addition to modifying root system architecture under low N supply,exogenous dopamine also changed the uptake,transport,and distribution of N,P,and K.Furthermore,exogenous dopamine enhances the tolerance to low nitrogen stress by increasing the activity of enzymes(nitrate reductase,nitrite reductase,glutamic acid synthase and glutamine synthetase)involved in N metabolism.We also found that exogenous dopamine promoted the expression of ethylene signaling genes(ERF1,ERF2,EIL1,ERS2,ETR1,and EIN4)under low N stress.Therefore,we hypothesized that ethylene might be involved in dopamine response to low N stress in M.hupehensis.Our results suggest that exogenous dopamine can mitigate low N stress by regulating the absorption of mineral nutrients,possibly through the regulation of the ethylene signaling pathway.LIU Xiao-min GAO Teng-teng ZHANG Zhi-jun TAN Ke-xin JIN Yi-bo ZHAO Yong-juan MA Fengwang LI Chao 2020Journal of Integrative Agriculture2020,19,11:1

5Correlation between human seizure-related gene 6 variants and idiopathic generalized epilepsy in a Southern Chinese Han population显示文摘This study sought to analyze the genotype and gene mutations of human seizure-related gene 6 in 98 patients with idiopathic generalized epilepsy (non-febrile seizures), who were selected from three generations of the Chinese Han population living in Shanghai, Zhejiang Province, Wuxi of Jiangsu Province, and Jiangxi Province of Southern China. Twenty-six patients' parents were available as a first-degree relatives group and 100 biologically unrelated healthy controls were collected as the control group. Based on the age of onset and seizure type, the patients were divided into six subgroups. Polymerase chain reaction and DNA direct sequencing analysis showed that the most frequent mutations c.1249dupC (p.Gly418Argfx31) and c.1636A > G (p.Thr546Ala) were detected in some idiopathic generalized epilepsy patients and their asymptomatic first-degree relatives (30.6% vs. 19.2% and 11.2% vs. 26.9%). A novel mutation c.1807G > A (p.Val603Met) was found in a patient with late-onset idiopathic generalized epilepsy. There was no significant difference in the incidence of these three mutations among the different subgroups of idiopathic generalized epilepsy and controls. 64-methylumbelliferone (4-MU) enhances drought tolerance of apple by regulating rhizosphere microbial diversity and root architecture显示文摘The dwarfing rootstocks-mediated high-density apple orchard is becoming the main practice management.Currently,dwarfing rootstocks are widely used worldwide,but their shallow root system and drought sensitivity necessitate high irrigation requirements.Here,the root transcriptome and metabolome of dwarfing(M9-T337,a drought-sensitive rootstock)and vigorous rootstocks(Malus sieversii,a drought-tolerant species,is commonly used as a rootstock)showed that a coumarin derivative,4-Methylumbelliferon(4-MU),was found to accumulate significantly in the roots of vigorous rootstock under drought condition.When exogenous 4-MU was applied to the roots of dwarfing rootstock under drought treatment,the plants displayed increased root biomass,higher root-to-shoot ratio,greater photosynthesis,and elevated water use efficiency.In addition,diversity and structure analysis of the rhizosphere soil microbial community demonstrated that 4-MU treatment increased the relative abundance of putatively beneficial bacteria and fungi.Of these,Pseudomonas,Bacillus,Streptomyces,and Chryseolinea bacterial strains and Acremonium,Trichoderma,and Phoma fungal strains known for root growth,or systemic resistance against drought stress,were significantly accumulated in the roots of dwarfing rootstock after 4-MU treatment under drought stress condition.Taken together,we identified a promising compound—4-MU,as a useful tool,to strengthen the drought tolerance of apple dwarfing rootstock.Dehui Zhang Jieqiang He Pengda Cheng Yutian Zhang Abid Khan Shicong Wang Zhongxing Li Shuang Zhao Xiangqiang Zhan Fengwang Ma Xuewei Li Qingmei Guan 2023Horticulture Research2023,10,7:0
7Strong metal–support interaction boosts the electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution capability of Ru nanoparticles supported on titanium nitride显示文摘Ruthenium(Ru)has been regarded as one of the most promising alternatives to substitute Pt for catalyzing alkaline hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),owing to its inherent high activity and being the cheapest platinum-group metal.Herein,based on the idea of strong metal–support interaction(SMSI)regulation,Ru/TiN catalysts with different degrees of TiN overlayer over Ru nanoparticles were fabricated,which were applied to the alkaline electrolytic water.Characterizations reveal that the TiN overlayer would gradually encapsulate the Ru nanoparticles and induce more electron transfer from Ru nanoparticles to TiN support by the Ru–N–Ti bond as the SMSI degree increased.Further study shows that the exposed Ru–TiN interfaces greatly promote the H_(2) desorption capacity.Thus,the Ru/TiN-300 with a moderate SMSI degree exhibits excellent HER performance,with an overpotential of 38 mV at 10 mA cm^(−2).Also,due to the encapsulation role of TiN overlayer on Ru nanoparticles,it displays super long-term stability with a very slight potential change after 24 h.This study provides a deep insight into the influence of the SMSI effect between Ru and TiN on HER and offers a novel approach for preparing efficient and stable HER electrocatalysts through SMSI engineering.Xin Wang Xiaoli Yang Guangxian Pei Jifa Yang Junzhe Liu Fengwang Zhao Fayi Jin Wei Jiang Haoxi Ben Lixue Zhang 2024Carbon Energy2024,6,1:0
