| 1 | Spleen-Yang-deficiency patients with polycystic ovary syndrome have higher levels of visfatin显示文摘OBJECTIVE:To study serum visfatin levels in women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)grouped by Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)patterns.To study the correlations of serum visfatin levels with homeostatic model assessment insulin resistance(HOMA-IR),fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting insulin(FINS),body mass index(BMI),testosterone(T),total cholesterol(TC),and triglycerides(TG).METHODS:Two hundred and twelve PCOS patients were placed into the following TCM pattern subgroups:Kidney-Yang deficiency(KYD)group,Spleen-Yang deficiency(SYD)group,stagnant Liver-Qi transforming into heat(SLQTH)group,and Kidney-Yin deficiency(KYIND)group.The correlations between serum visfatin levels and HOMA-IR,FPG,FINS,BMI,T,TC,andTG were analyzed.RESULTS:Of all patients with PCOS,there were 82in the KYD group(38.6%),67 in the SYD group(31.6%),37 in the SLQTH group(17.5%),and 26 in the KYIND group(12.3%).Visfatin levels in all PCOS subgroups were higher than those in the control group(P<0.01 or P<0.05).Among these subgroups,the visfatin levels in the SYD group were significantly higher than those in the other three TCM pattern groups(P<0.05).There were no statistical differences among the remaining three pattern groups.The levels of BMI,FINS,HOMA-IR,T,and TG were significantly higher in all subgroups than those in the control group(P<0.05).There were no significant differences in FPG and TC between all PCOS subgroups and the control group(P>0.05).The SYD group had higher levels of FINS and HOMA-IR compared with the KYD,SLQTH,and KYIND groups(P<0.05).In all subgroups,after controlling for BMI,TG,TC,and age,visfatin was positively correlated with FINS(r=0.197,P=0.015)and HOMA-IR(r=0.173,P=0.033),and was not correlated with T.CONCLUSION:KYD and SYD patterns are most common in PCOS patients.Increased visfatin is a common pathophysiologic manifestation in PCOS patients.The SYD group had the highest levels of visfatin,and visfatin was positively correlated with FINS and HOMA-IR. | Huijia Fu Yan Qiu Feng Wei Li Yang Min Xia Huiyu He | 2014 | Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine2014,34,1: | 5 |
| 2 | High-yield preparation of robust gold nanoshells on silica nanorattles with good biocompatiblity显示文摘Although gold nanoshells are widely considered as one of the promising photothermal nanomaterials used for biomedicine, the high cost, low yield and poor stability severely limit their potential application in clinical trials.Herein, robust gold nanoshells on silica nanorattles(GSNs)were easily prepared in a high yield by an improved seedmediated method employing polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) as a stabilizing and capping agent. The present method is very simple, effective and reproducible and can well control the growth process of gold nanoshells. The as-prepared GSNs have a narrow size distribution(<10 % in standard deviation). Furthermore, the utilization rate of Au in the solution used for the growth of gold nanoshells increases by 70 %than that in previous method. The resultant GSNs have a good structural stability after placing over 6 months due to the protection of PVP. More importantly, in vivo and in vitro toxic studies indicate that the GSNs have good biocompatibility. | 3 | Drilling Force and Temperature of Bone under Dry and Physiological Drilling Conditions显示文摘Many researches on drilling force and temperature have been done with the aim to reduce the labour intensiveness of surgery, avoid unnecessary damage and improve drilling quality. However, there has not been a systematic study of mid- and high-speed drilling under dry and physiological conditions(injection of saline). Furthermore, there is no consensus on optimal drilling parameters. To study these parameters under dry and physiological drilling conditions, pig humerus bones are drilled with medical twist drills operated using a wide range of drilling speeds and feed rates. Drilling force and temperature are measured using a YDZ-II01 W dynamometer and a NEC TVS-500 EX thermal infrared imager, respectively, to evaluate internal bone damage. To evaluate drilling quality, bone debris and hole morphology are observed by SEM(scanning electron microscopy). Changes in drilling force and temperature give similar results during drilling such that the value of each parameter peaks just before the drill penetrates through the osteon of the compact bone into the trabeculae of the spongy bone. Drilling temperatures under physiological conditions are much lower than those observed under dry conditions, while a larger drilling force occurs under physiological conditions than dry conditions. Drilling speed and feed rate have a significant influence on drilling force, temperature, bone debris and hole morphology. The investigation of the effect of drilling force and temperature on internal bone damage reveals that a drilling speed of 4500 r/min and a feed rate of 50 mm/min are recommended for bone drilling under physiological conditions. Drilling quality peaks under these optimal parameter conditions. | 4 | A genetically encoded ratiometric calcium sensor enables quantitative measurement of the local calcium microdomain in the endoplasmic reticulum显示文摘The local Ca^2+ release from the heterogeneously distributed endoplasmic reticulum (ER) calcium store has a critical role in calcium homeostasis and cellular function. However;single fluorescent proteinbased ER calcium probes experience challenges in quantifying the ER calcium store in differing live cells, and intensity-based measurements make it difficult to detect local calcium microdomains in the ER. Here, we developed a genetically encoded ratiometric ER calcium indicator [GCEPIA1-SNAPer] that can detect the real-time ER calcium store and local calcium microdomains in live cells. GCEPIA1-SNAPer was located in the lumen of the ER and showed a linear;reversible and rapid response to changes in the ER calcium store. The GCEPIA1-SNAPer probe effectively monitored the depletion of the ER calcium store by TG or starvation treatment, and through 让s use we identified heterogeneously distributed calcium microdomains in the ER which were correlated w让h the distribution of STIM1 clusters upon ER calcium store depletion. | 6 | Rational design of a novel two-dimensional porous metal-organic framework material for efficient benzene sensor显示文摘As a common volatile organic compound,benzene(C_(6)H_(6)) exists in home decoration pollution gas widely,which causes great harm to the environment and human health.Therefore,it is necessary to rationally design advanced materials with high selectivity to detect and capture C_(6)H_(6).Herein,combined with the d-band center theory and cohesive energy,a new two-dimensional metal-organic framework material,Ni-doped hexaaminobenzene-based coordination polymer(Ni-HAB-CP)is designed,and its application potential as a C_(6)H_(6) sensor are systematically investigated by using first principles calculation.The result shows that Ni-HAB-CP has a strong adsorption for C_(6)H_(6) without any additional method.In addition,NiHAB-CP can maintain good conductivity before and after adsorption,and C_(6)H_(6) can be easily desorbed from the surface of Ni-HAB-CP by charge control.Moreover,the I-V curve calculated by Atomistix Toolkit(ATK)reveals that Ni-HAB-CP has high sensitivity and selectivity to C_(6)H_(6).Hence,Ni-HAB-CP is expected to be used as a potential material for a highly efficient and recyclable C_(6)H_(6) sensor in the future.The calculation and analysis methods used in this paper could provide a certain theoretical basis and reference for the future research of gas sensors. | Wenxue Zhang Huiyu Ma Tongtong Li Cheng He | 2022 | Chinese Chemical Letters2022,33,8: | 0 |
| 7 | The Com prehensive Evaluation on Four Indices of Drug Re-sistance in Acute Myeloid Leukem ia显示文摘To study sensitivity of drug resistance indexes and resistance manner in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), MTT drug sensitivity, growth types of CFU L in vitro , Bcl 2 antigen and Bcl 2/Bax ratio and intracellular fluorescence intensity of daunorubicin (DNR) were determined. In 62 cases of AML, the positive coincidence rate was 73 % with MTT test and the negative coincidence rate was 70 %. In 3 commonly used drugs, if one drug showed sensitivity, the coincidence remission rate reached 71 %. In 51 cases of AML, there were 31 patients in the group of complete remission (CR), in which CFU L of 29 patients showed independent growth. CFU L of 2 patients showed no growth. However, there were 20 patients in the group of non remission (NR), in which CFU L of 14 patients showed independent growth. CFU L of 6 patients showed non growth pattern. Statistical analysis showed significant difference ( P <0.05). In 32 cases of AML, the expression rate of Bcl 2 was 59.55 %±19.56 % in drug sensitive group, and one was 77.36 %±11.91 % in drug resistant group, respectively ( P <0.05). At the same time, the ratio of Bcl 2/Bax was 7.50±5.04 in drug sensitive group and one was 14.32±8.99 in drug resistant group, respectively ( P <0.05). In 15 case of clinically drug resistant AML, the fluorescence histogram of DNR showed left shift of main peak (LSMP) in 12 patients. They were diagnosed as classical drug resistance. Meanwhile, 1 patient showed right shift of main peak (RSMP) in 3 patients. They were diagnosed as re growth drug resistance. It is concluded that MTT and CFU L might be used for prediction of drug sensitivity or resistance when patients were on treatment. Bcl 2 and ratio of Bcl 2/Bax might be associated with the prognosis. DNR histogram could be employed for identify the pattern drug resistance.
