1Rare Earth Element Geochemistry of Phosphatic Rocks in Neoproterozoic Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation in Hushan Section from the Yangtze Gorges Area, South China显示文摘Phosphatic rocks are widely distributed in Neoproterozoic Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation in Yangtze Gorges Area, South China. In this study, rare earth element geochemistry of eight phosphatic rock samples from the Hushan Section has been studied. All the samples display typical hat-shaped REE patterns, moderate negative Ce anomalies(Ce/Ce*=0.55 to 0.67), slightly positive Eu anomalies(Eu/Eu*=1.05 to 1.22) and low Y/Ho ratios(38.2±5.6). The hat-shaped REE patterns indicate diagenetic alteration of the primary REE signatures, which coincides with detrital siliciclastic sources of REE based on the Y/Ho ratios. The degree of Negative Ce anomalies and positive Eu anomalies may have recorded the redox features of diagenetic fluids, suggesting an anoxic environment during the phosphogenesis processes in Neoproterozoic Ediacaran Doushantuo Formation, South China. The geochemical comparison between the Lower Phosphorite Layer and Upper Phosphorite Layer at Hushan indicates a greater degree of diagenesis occurred in the Upper Layer than the Lower one. 2Studies of the intestinal absorption of the alkaloids in the Wu-tou decoction combined with different incompatible medicinal herbs in a Caco-2 cell culture system using UPLC-MS/MS显示文摘In this study,seven alkaloids were detected in Wu-tou decoction using ultra performance liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry(UPLC-MS').The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus,Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbils,Pinelliae Rhizoma in different ratios with Wu-tou decoction(2:1,1:1,1:2) by measuring the therapeutic effects in Wu-tou decoction of main seven alkaloids including benzoylaconitine(BA),benzoylmesaconitine(BM),benzoylhypaconitine(BH),hypaconitine(HA),fuziline(FU),niaolin(NE) and deoxyaconitine(DA).The permeability of aconitum alkaloids extract through a Caco-2 cell monolayer was analyzed in the absence and presence of Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus,Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus,and Pinelliae Rhizoma,respectively.The results showed that Pinelliae Rhizoma could reduce the absorption of the alkaloids and increase the excretion of the alkaloids,which would attenuate the therapeutic effects of Wu-tou decoction.Therefore.Pinelliae Rhizoma is an incompatible herb of Wu-tou decoction because of the inhibition of the absorption of alkaloids in the intestine.And that Fritillariae Cirrhosae Bulbus and Fritillariae Thunbergii Bulbus showed the effects to improve the permeability of the alkaloids in Wu-tou decoction.These effects of these two herbs were similar,but the former was stronger than the latter,which most likely is clue to the fact that the compositions of these two traditional Chinese medicines are similar.The in vitro data suggests that the compounds such as fritillary presented in alkaloids in the formula maybe improve the therapeutic function caused by the increased bioavailability of alkaloids in intestine.Hong Kan Wen-Yue Jiang Ru Ding Zhong-Ying Liu Zi-Feng Pi Zhi-Qiang Liu 2015Chinese Chemical Letters2015,26,5:5

14Intersected functional zone of transcriptional regulators patterns stemness within stem cell niche of root apical meristem显示文摘Root stem cell niche(SCN)consists of a quiescent center(QC)and surrounding stem cells.Disrupted symplastic communication leads to loss of stemness in the whole SCN.Several SCN regulators were reported to move between cells for SCN main-tenance.However,single mutant of these regulators is insu?cient to abolish QC stemness despite the high differentiation rate in surrounding stem cells.To dis-sect the mechanism behind such distinct stemness in SCN,we combined the mis-expression strategy with pWOX5:icals3m system in which QC is symplastically isolated.We found the starch accumulation in QC could be synergistically repressed by WUSCHEL-RE-LATED HOMEOBOX 5(WOX5),SHORT-ROOT(SHR),SCARCROW(SCR),and PLETHORA(PLT).Like PLTs,other core regulators also exhibited dimorphicfunctions by inhibiting differentiation at a higher dose while promoting cell division at a low protein level.Being located in the center of the intersected ex-pression zones,QC cells receive the highest level of core regulators,forming the most robust stemness within SCN.WUSCHEL-RELATED HOMEOBOX 5 was su?cient to activate PLT1/2 expression,contributing to the QC-enriched PLTs.Our results provide ex-perimental evidence supporting the long-standing hypothesis that the combination of spatial ex-pression,synergistic function and dosage effect of core regulators result in spatially distinct stemness in SCN.Meizhi Xu Xu Gu Nengsong Liang Xinxin Bian Hong Wang Yaxin Qin Limin Pi Shuang Wu 2020Journal of Integrative Plant Biology2020,62,7:1

17Carrageenan oligosaccharides and associated carrageenan-degrading bacteria induce intestinal inflammation in germ-free mice显示文摘Carrageenans(CGNs)are widely used in foods and pharmaceuticals although their safety remains controversial.To investigate the effects of CGNs and CGN-degrading bacteria in the human colon,we screened for CGN degradation by human fecal microbiota,and for inflammatory response to CGNs and/or CGN-degrading bacteria in germ free mice.Thin-layer chromatography indicated that high molecular weight(MW)CGNs(!100 kDa)remained undegraded in the presence of human fecal microbiota,whereas low MW CGNs,i.e.,k-carrageenan oligosaccharides(KCO,~4.5 kDa)were degraded when exposed to seven of eight human fecal samples,although sulfate groups were not removed during degradation.Bacteroides xylanisolvens and Escherichia coli isolates from fecal samples apparently degraded KCO synergistically,with B.xylanisolvens serving as the primary degrader.Combined treatment of KCO with KCO-degrading bacteria led to greater pro-inflammatory effects in the colon and rectum of germ-free mice than either KCO or bacteria alone.Similarly,p-p38-,CD3-,and CD79a-positive immune cells were more abundant in combined treatment group mice than in either single treatment group.Our study shows that KCO-degrading bacteria and the low MW products of KCO can promote proinflammatory effects in mice,and represent two key markers for evaluating CGN safety in foods or medicines.Yeshi Yin Miaomiao Li Weizhong Gu Benhua Zeng Wei Liu Liying Zhu Xionge Pi Donald A.Primerano Hongwei D.Yu Hong Wei Guangli Yu Xin Wang 2021Journal of Genetics and Genomics2021,48,9:1
