| 3 | Efficacious selective separation of U(Ⅵ) over Mo(Ⅵ) using novel 2,9-diamide-1,10-phenanthroline ligands: Liquid-liquid extraction and coordination chemistry显示文摘Uranium and molybdenum are important strategic elements. The production of ^(99)Mo and the hydrometallurgical process of uranium ore face difficult problems of separation of uranium and molybdenum.In this study, the four phenanthroline diamide ligands were synthesized, and extraction and stripping experiments were performed under different conditions to evaluate the potential application of these ligands for separation of U(Ⅵ) over Mo(Ⅵ). With the growth of alkyl chain, the solubility of ligands could be greatly improved, and the separation effect of U(Ⅵ) over Mo(Ⅵ) gradually increased. The SF_(U/Mo) were around 10,000 at 4 mol/L HNO3. Three stripping agents were tested with the stripping efficiency of Na_(2)CO_(3)(5%) > H_(2)O > HNO_(3)(0.01 mol/L). The stripping percentages of the three stripping agents were all close to unity, indicating that the ligands had the potential to be recycled. The chemical stoichiometry of U(Ⅵ) complexes with ligands was evaluated as 1:1 using electrospray ionization mass spectrometry,ultraviolet visible spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. | 5 | An anti-freezing biomineral hydrogel of high strain sensitivity for artificial skin applications显示文摘Mineral hydrogels have caught a lot of attention for their strong competency as artificial skin-like materials.Nonetheless,it remains a great difficulty in fulfilling in one hydrogel system a range of key functionalities that are needed for practical artificial skin applications,i.e.,to be biocompatible,strain-sensitive,ion-conductive,elastic and robust,anti-swelling,and anti-freezing.Here we present a such type of versatile hydrogel that is not only capable to deliver all the above-mentioned key functionalities but also highly stable.This novel hydrogel is constructed by introducing a gelatinous and amorphous multi-ionic biomineral(denoted as Mg-ACCP,containing Mg^(2+),Ca^(2+),CO_(3)^(2−),and PO_(4)^(3−))into the network of biocompatible polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)and sodium alginate(SA).The presence of Mg^(2+)and PO_(4)^(3−)in this hydrogel helps prohibit the crystallization of the biominerals,leading to significantly improved stability.The hydrogel thus obtained delivers excellent mechanical performance due to the chelation between the mineral ions and the organic matrix,and high sensitivity even to subtle pressure and strain applied,such as slight finger bending and gentle tapping.Furthermore,the novel hydrogel features high ionic conductivity,high resistance to swelling,and extraordinary anti-freezing property,holding great promise for applications in different practical scenarios,particularly in aqueous or cold environments. | Junda Shen Peng Du Binbin Zhou Guobin Zhang Xinxue Tang Jie Pan Bo Li Jingyang Zhang Jian Lu Yang Yang Li | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,7: | 1 |
| 6 | Inhibition of cathepsin B protects pancreatic acinar cells against apoptosis in early pancreatic trauma in rats显示文摘Objectives:To observe the protective effect of cathepsin B inhibition against apoptosis of acinar cells in the early management of pancreatic contusion and laceration in rats,which would provide evidence of a potential early therapeutic for pancreatic contusion and laceration.Methods:Twenty-four rats were assigned to 2 groups:1)Model(n=12)with an induced pancreatic injury of severity I-II and 2)CA074-V(n=12):an induced pancreatic injury,severity I-II treated with the cathepsin B inhibitor CA074-me(0.01mg/g)by intravenous administration through the caudal vein at 5minutes post model establishment.The mice in these two groups were further randomly divided into 4 subgroups containing 3 rats each that were sacrificed for quantitation of apoptosis,immunohistochemistry of cathepsin B,and serum amylase and lipase measurements at different time points after model establishment(0,3,6,and 12hours).Results:The percentage of apoptotic pancreatic acinar cells collected from the injured tissues were much lower in the CA074-V group than the Model group at 3hours[9.25±3.94%vs.64.76±26.47%,P<0.10]and 6hours[14.71±8.22%vs.66.60±13.54%,P<0.10]post model establishment.The percentage of cathepsin B-positive pancreatic acinar cells were much lower in the CA074-V group than in the Model group at 3hours[31.07±12.02%vs.69.16±5.71%,P<0.10],6hours[24.84±0.93%vs.47.06±0.91%,P<0.10],and 12hours[28.33±9.14%vs.52.72±1.25%,P<0.10]post model establishment.Conclusions:Early cathepsin B inhibition effectively blocked acinar cell apoptosis in an experimental rat model of pancreatic contusion and laceration. | Cong Feng Lili Wang Jingyang Peng Xiang Cui Xuan Zhou | 2022 | Emergency and Critical Care Medicine2022,2,1: | 1 |
| 7 | Thermal Biology of Cold-climate Distributed Heilongjiang Grass Lizard,Takydromus amurensis显示文摘Thermal biology traits reflect thermal adaptations to an environment and can be used to infer responses to climate warming in animal species.Within a widespread genus or species,assessing the latitudinal or altitudinal gradient of thermal physiological traits is essential to reveal thermal adaptations and determine future vulnerability to climate warming geographically.We determined the thermal biology traits of a cold-climate distributed lizard,Takydromus amurensis,and integrated published thermal biology traits within the genus Takydromus to reveal a preliminary geographical pattern in thermal adaptation.The mean selected body temperature(cloaca temperature;T_(sel)),critical thermal maximum(CT_(max)),critical thermal minimum(CT_(min)),and optimal temperature for locomotion(i.e.,sprint speed;T_(opt)) of T.amurensis were 32.6,45.1,3.1,and 33.4℃,respectively.The resting metabolic rates of T.amurensis were po sitively related to temperature from 18℃ to 38℃.We compared the traits of tropical T.sexlineatus,subtropical T.septentrionalis,and T.wolteri with T.amurensis and found that the CT_(max) and thermal tolerance range(the difference between CT_(max) and CT_(min);TTR) increased toward high latitudes,whereas CT_(min) increased toward low latitudes in these four Takydromus lizards.According to this preliminary pattern,we speculate the species at medium and low latitudes would be more vulnerable to extreme heat events caused by ongoing climate warming.We highlight the importance of integrating thermal biology traits along geographical clues,and its potential contribution to evaluate the vulnerabilities of species in the context of climate warming. | Xin HAO Shiang TAO Yu MENG Jingyang LIU Luoxin CUI Wanli LIU Baojun SUN Peng LIU Wenge ZHAO | 2020 | Asian Herpetological Research2020,11,4: | 0 |
