15Compensating the impurities on the Cu surface by MOFs for enhanced hydrocarbon production in the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide显示文摘Copper(Cu)provides a cost-effective means of producing value-added fuels through the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide(CO_(2)RR).However,we observed the production of hydrocarbons via CO_(2)RR on commercial Cu films is less efficient because of the surface impurities,i.e.,Fe.Carbon monoxide(CO),a reaction intermediate of CO_(2)RR to hydrocarbons,binds strongly to the Fe sites and interrupts the production of hydrocarbons,resulting in an active hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).Herein,we report a method of blocking the effect of Fe impurities on the Cu surface through the preferential growth of nano-sized metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)on Fe site.When zirconium(Zr)-based MOFs(UiO-66)forms a compensating layer on Cu film via the terephthalic acid(TPA)-Fe coordination bond,the Ui O-66 coated Cu film(UiO-66@Cu)presents significantly improved hydrocarbon Faradaic efficiency(FE)of 37.59%compared to 14.68%FE on commercial Cu film(99.9%purity)by suppressing HER.According to X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)analysis,the UiO-66 ligand binds to entire metallic Fe site on the Cu surface,while metallic Cu is retained.Thus,UiO-66@Cu provides active sites of Cu for CO_(2)RR and leads to highly efficient and selective production of hydrocarbons.Shin Joon Kang Jong Ho Won Hansaem Choi Woohyeong Sim Mun Kyoung Kim Siraj Sultan Youngkook Kwon Hyung Mo Jeong 2022Journal of Energy Chemistry2022,31,3:1

20A compact polymer–inorganic hybrid gas barrier nanolayer for flexible organic light-emitting diode displays显示文摘Atomic layer infiltration technology allows the formation of a nanometer-thick polymer-inorganic hybrid barrier layer in polymer material for flexible organic light-emitting diode(OLED)displays.In this study,according to transmission electron microscopy and secondary-ion mass spectrometry analysis results under various process conditions,a compact polymer-inorganic hybrid nanolayer was successfully formed in a polymer and good barrier performance was revealed with a low water vapor transmission rate under optimal process conditions.Additionally,through gas chromatography-mass spectrometry measurements after ultra-violet radiation testing,polymer out-gassing decreased compared to bare polymers.Based on barrier properties,the polymer with a polymer-inorganic hybrid barrier nanolayer was applied to a flexible OLED display as a substrate.During storage tests and folding tests,the flexible OLED display exhibits good reliability and better flexibility compared to those with an inorganic barrier layer.These results confirm that the polymer-inorganic hybrid nanolayer is suitable for barrier layer formation in flexible OLED displays.Seung Hun Kim Seung Yong Song Soo Youn Kim Moon Won Chang Hyo Jeong Kwon Kwan Hyuck Yoon Woo Yong Sung Myung Mo Sung Hye Yong Chu 2022npj Flexible Electronics2022,6,1:0
