| 1 | Modern stalagmite oxygen isotopic composition and its implications of climatic change from a high-elevation cave in the eastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau over the past 50 years显示文摘An oxygen isotope record of a stalagmite from Huanglong Cave in the eastern Qinghai-Tibet Plateau dated with 230Th and 210Pb methods provides variations of the Asian monsoon with an average resolu-tion of 1 year over the past 50 years. This study shows that the δ18O of dripwater in the cave represents the annual mean δ18O of local meteoric precipitation and the stalagmites were deposited in isotopic equilibrium. A comparison of the stalagmite δ18O record with instrumentally meteorological data indi-cates that shifts of the δ18O are largely controlled by the amount effect of meteoric precipitation con-veyed through the southwest monsoon(the Indian monsoon) and less affected by temperature. Therefore,the variations of δ18O record reflect the changes in monsoon precipitation on inter-annual time scales under the influence of the southwest monsoon. Like many other stalagmite δ18O records in the Asian monsoon regions,the δ18O record of the stalagmite from Huanglong Cave also reveals a gradually enriched trend during the past 50 years,i.e. relatively enriched in 18O. This trend may indicate the decline of the Asian monsoon intensity which is consistent with the decrease of monsoon indices. | 3 | Transportation characteristics of δ^(13)C in the plants-soil-bedrock-cave system in Chongqing karst area显示文摘Here we use an analytical method to determine δ13C in local plants and organic matter in the soils above Furong cave,Chongqing,China.We also monitored δ13C in dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC) of drip water,δ13C of active deposits under the drip waters,and the concentration of air CO2(PCO2).Based on these,we preliminarily studied the transportation characteristics of stable carbon isotope(13C) in cave system of the subtropical karst area.The average δ13C value of 27 local plant samples,which belong to 16 families,was -32‰ and the weighted δ13C for surface dry biomass was -33‰.We found that for 54 soil samples collected from 5 soil profiles,δ13C of soil organic matters was -22‰,which could be attributed to the different transportation rates of stable carbon isotopes during the decomposition of plants and organic matters in soils.The relatively lighter 12C tended to transfer into gaseous CO2,which made the relatively heavier 13C concentrated in the soils.On the basis of monitoring of DIC-δ13C in drip waters from July 2009 to June 2010,we found that values in winter months were heavier and values in summer months were lighter in general,the reason of which was that in summer months,both the temperature and the humidity were comparatively higher,resulted in more CO2 with lighter δ13C generated from organic matters decomposition and plants respiration.The average DIC -δ13C value was -11‰,about 11‰ heavier than the δ13C of organic matters in soils,which proved that part of DIC in cave drip water was sourced from dissolution of inorganic carbonate(host rock,with heavier δ13C).As for the δ13C of active deposits at five drip water sites in Furong cave,they had almost the same variation with relatively light values.In other words,these active speleothems were deposited at equilibrium conditions for isotopic fractionation.These results suggest that the carbon isotopic information of speleothems could be used to track the evolution of local vegetation in certain situations. | Li TingYong Li HongChun Xiang XiaoJing Kuo Tz-Shing Li JunYun Zhou FuLi Chen HongLi Peng LingLi | 2012 | Science China Earth Sciences2012,55,4: | 18 |

| 5 | Effect of nitrogen on corrosion behaviour of a novel high nitrogen medium-entropy alloy CrCoNiN manufactured by pressurized metallurgy显示文摘A novel high nitrogen medium-entropy alloy CrCoNiN, which had higher strength and slightly lower ductility than CrCoNi alloy, was successfully manufactured by pressurized metallurgy. The microstructure and corrosion behaviour were investigated by microscopic, electrochemical and spectroscopic methods.The results indicated that nitrogen existed in the form of Cr_2N precipitates and uniformly distributed N atoms, and nitrogen alloying significantly refined the grain size. Besides, nitrogen enriched on the outmost surface of passive film and metal/film interface as ammonia(NH-_3 and NH_4^+) and CrN, respectively. | 8 | Refinement mechanism of cerium addition on solidification structure and sigma phase of super austenitic stainless steel S32654显示文摘The influence of Ce addition on the solidification structure and σphase of super austenitic stainless steel S32654 was systematically investigated via microstructural characterization and thermodynamic calcula- tion. The results indicate that a small addition of Ce could modify MgO and MnS into Ce-bearing inclu- sions Ce_(2)O_(3)and Ce_(2)O_(2)S. Ce addition led to noticeable refinement of both the dendrite structure and σphase. The refinement mechanism could be attributed to the combined actions of effective Ce-bearing inclusions and solute Ce. Effective Ce-bearing inclusions could serve as heterogeneous nucleation cores of austenite as well as σphase, which provided a favorable prerequisite for their refinement. Solute Ce significantly enhanced the undercooling degree of the system, further promoting dendrite structure re- finement. Meanwhile, solute Ce improved the eutectic precipitation conditions of σphase and further promoted its nucleation, while the dendrite refinement limited its growth space. Finally, more fine and dispersed σphase particles formed in S32654 with Ce addition. | 9 | TNP-ATP is Beneficial for Treatment of Neonatal HypoxiaInduced Hypomyelination and Cognitive Decline显示文摘Our previous study together with other investigations have reported that neonatal hypoxia or ischemia induces long-term cognitive impairment, at least in part through brain inflammation and hypomyelination. However, the detailed mechanisms are not fully understood.Here, we used a rodent model of neonatal hypoxia by subjecting postnatal day 0(P0) rat pups to systemic hypoxia(3.5 h). We found that neonatal hypoxia increased the glutamate content and initiated inflammatory responses at 4 h and 1 day after hypoxia, caused hypomyelination in the corpus callosum, and impaired hippocampus-dependent learning and memory when assessed 30–60 days after hypoxia. Interestingly, much of the hypoxia-induced brain damage was ameliorated by treatment with the ATP analogue 20,30-0-(2,4,6-trinitrophenyl)-adenosine 50-triphosphate(TNP-ATP; blocks all ionotropic P2X1-7 receptors),whereas treatment with pyridoxalphosphate-6-azophenyl-20,40-disulphonic acid(PPADS; inhibits P2X1-3 and P2X5-7 receptors) was less neuroprotective. | 19 | Enhanced strength and toughness of high nitrogen stainless bearing steel by controlling interstitial partitioning via V-microalloying显示文摘High-nitrogen stainless bearing steel(HNSBS)with ultra-high tensile strength(∼2403 MPa)and good toughness(∼80.0 J)was obtained by V-microalloying,overcoming the strength-toughness trade-off of conventional V-free HNSBS.In this work,since V-microalloying facilitated the enrichment of interstitial atoms(C and N)in precipitates,the content of interstitial atoms in the matrix was reduced accordingly(i.e.,interstitial partitioning).On the one hand,V-microalloying reduced the substantial intergranular precipitates and transformed the precipitates from M_(23)C_(6)+M_(2)N into V-containing M_(23)C_(6)+M_(2)N+MN with multi-scale particle sizes,causing a coupling strengthening effect,which contributed to the toughness and additional strength increase.On the other hand,V-microalloying controlled interstitial partitioning,effectively refined coarse retained austenite(RA),increased the fraction of dislocation martensite,and reduced the fraction of twin martensite.The more film-like RA and dislocation martensite with high dislocation density coordinated plastic deformation and prevented crack propagation,thus obviously enhancing the strength and toughness of 0.2 V steel.This study provides a new route to develop high-performance HNSBS for aerospace applications. | Lingfeng Xia Huabing Li Hao Feng Zhouhua Jiang Hongchun Zhu Shucai Zhang Xiaodong Wang | 2023 | Journal of Materials Science & Technology2023,,20: | 1 |
