1HIF-1α-induced expression of m6A reader YTHDF1 drives hypoxia-induced autophagy and malignancy of hepatocellular carcinoma by promoting ATG2A and ATG14 translation显示文摘N6-methyladenosine(m6A),and its reader protein YTHDF1,play a pivotal role in human tumorigenesis by affecting nearly everystage of RNA metabolism.Autophagy activation is one of the ways by which cancer cells survive hypoxia.However,the possibleinvolvement of m6A modification of mRNA in hypoxia-induced autophagy was unexplored in human hepatocellular carcinoma(HCO).In this study,specific variations in YTHDF1 expression were detected in YTHDF1-overexpressing,knockout,and-knockdownHCC cells,HCC organoids,and HCC patient-derived xenograft(PDX)murine models.YTHDF1 expression and hypoxia inducedautophagy were significantly correlated in vitro;signifhcant overexpression of YTHDF1 in HCC tissues was associated with poorprognosis,Multivariate cox regression analysis identihed YTHDF1 expression as an independent prognostic factor in patients withHCC.Multiple HC models conhrmed that YTHDF1 deficiency inhibited HCC autophagy,growth,and metastasis.Luciferase reporterassays and chromatin immunoprecipitation demonstrated that HlIF-1a regulated YTHDF1 transcription by directly binding to itspromoter region under hypoxia.The results of methylated RNA immunoprecipitation sequencing,proteomics,and polysomeprofling indicated that YTHDF1 contibuted to the translation of autophagy-related genes ATG2A and ATG14 by binding to m6A-modifhed ATG2A and ATG14 mRNA,thus facilitating autophagy and autophagy-related malignancy of HCC.Taken together,HlE-1d-induced YTHDF1 expression was associated with hypoxia-induced autophagy and autophagy-related HCC progression via promoting translation of autophagy-related genes ATG2A and ATG14 in a m6A-dependent manner.Our fndings suggest thatYTHDF1 is a potential prognostic biomarker and therapeutic target for patients with HCC.Qing Li Yong Ni Liren Zhang Runqiu Jiang Jing Xu Hong Yang Yuanchang Hu Jiannan Qiu Liyong Pu Jinhai Tang Xuehao Wang 2021Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2021,6,3:24

3New Vetulicoliids from the Lower Cambrian Guanshan Fauna, Kunming显示文摘The Guanshan Fauna, a soft-bodied fauna intermediate between the Chengjiang Fauna and the Kaili Fauna and also the Burgess Shale Fauna stratigraphically, consists of trilobites, trilobitoides, Tuzoia, Vetulicola, Paleoscolex, brachiopods and sponges. The discovery and research of this fauna is of great significance in understading the 'Cambrian Explosion' and the evolution of early life. The occurrence of vetulicoliids from the Guanshan Fauna not only adds new members to the taxonomic list, but also provides new information to the evolution of this animal group. This paper describe Vetulicola gantoucunensis Luo, Fu et Hu sp. nov. from the Lower Cambrian Wulongqing Formation in the Kunming area. Also presented are the amended description of Vetulicola and the comparisons with related genera within Vetulicoliids. 4Method for enhancing visibility of hazy images based on polarimetric imaging显示文摘A novel polarimetric dehazing method is proposed based on three linear polarization images(0°,45°,and 90°).The polarization orientation angle of the light scattered by the haze particles is introduced in the algorithm.No additional image-processing algorithm is needed in the postprocessing.It is found that the dehazed image suffers from little noise and the details of the objects close to the observer can be preserved well.In addition,this algorithm is also proved to be useful for preserving image colors.Experimental results demonstrate that such an algorithm has some universality in handling all kinds of haze.We think that this robust algorithm might be very suitable for real-time dehazing.Jian Liang Liyong Ren Enshi Qu Bingliang Hu Yingli Wang 2014Photonics Research2014,2,1:15
5Modern sedimentation rates in the intertidal zone on the west coast of the Bohai Gulf显示文摘On the basis of the measurement of 210Pbex and 137Cs activities in the sediment cores taken from the intertidal zone on the west coast of the Bohai Gulf, the average sedimentation rates of modern sediments are calculated. The results indicate that in the sandy area of the intertidal zone (from Daogouzi to the Duliujian River), the sedimentation rate from 1955 to 1963 is 3.43-4.06 cm/a, and is within the range of 0.65 ̄1.59 cm/a since 1963. The average sedimentation rate in the muddy area (around Qikou) is approximately 1.81 cm/a. The results above suggest that the sandy area of the intertidal zone has experienced rapid sedimentation from the 1950s to the 1960s, and the sedimentation slows down after the 1960s, and the sedimentation rates increase from north to south spatially. The rapid sedi- mentation from the 1950s to the 1960s in the sandy area is due to the fact that North China has plentiful precipitation during this period and the intertidal zone is supplied with abundant matter sources for sedimentation. 7A review of fundamental factors affecting diesel PM oxidation behaviors显示文摘Diesel particulate matter(DPF) is usually employed to meet the stringent regulations on particulate matter(PM) emissions for diesel engine. To resolve the DPF regeneration problem, comprehensive information about the factors influencing PM oxidation behaviors must be understood. Large amounts of factors related to PM oxidation activity have been investigated, however, some relations are still ambiguous. This paper reviews the factors related to PM oxidation activity that the factors are divided into the engine-correlated and engine-uncorrelated factors. The methods with both advantages and disadvantages to test the oxidation behaviors are introduced. The microstructure and ingredient being fundamental factors affecting PM oxidation behaviors are as the principle line to correlate PM oxidation behaviors and engine-correlated factors. The relations of engine-correlated factors with oxidation behaviors are obtained though advanced technologies that are mutual complementation. The engine-uncorrelated factors are also reviewed that these factors are vital to oxidation activity changes. 8Comparison of Starch Granule Size Distribution Between Hard and Soft Wheat Cultivars in Eastern China显示文摘Granule size distribution of wheat starch is an important characteristic that can affect its chemical composition and functionality.Two types of wheat cultivars,the hard and soft wheat cultivars,grown at Tai'an Experimental Station of Shandong Agricultural University,Taian,Shandong,China,were examined in this study.The granule size distribution and amylose contents in wheat grains were studied and compared,and relationships between the properties were identified. A clear bimodal distribution of granule size was shown in all wheat cultivars.Volume distribution of starch granules shows the typical bimodal with peak values in the ranges of 5.6-6.1μm and 20.7-24.9μm,respectively.Also,granule surface area distribution was bimodal with peak values in the ranges of 2.4-3.2μm and 20.7-24.9μm,respectively.Number distribution of granules was a typical population with a peak value in the range of 0.54-1.05μm.Contributions from the granules<2.8μm and<9.9μm to the total volume were in the ranges of 94.2-95.1%and 99.7-99.9%of total number,respectively.Proportions of granules<2.8μm,2.8-9.9μm,9.9-22.8μm,and 22.8-42.8μm were in the ranges of 12.9-14.3%,28.4-31.1%,33.5-35.6%, and 19.7-22.7%for hard wheat,and 10.3-13.9%,26.6-28.1%,32.7-34.6%,and 24.2-27%for soft wheat.Hard wheat had greater B-type granules(<9.9μm),and had fewer granules of 22.8-42.8μm than soft wheat.Amylose content was positively related to volume percentage of granules 22.8-42.8μm,and negatively related to volume percentage of granules 2.8-22.8μm.LI Wen-yang YAN Su-hui YIN Yah-ping LIYong LIANG Tai-bo GU Feng DAI Zhong-min WANG Zhen-lin 2008Agricultural Sciences in China2008,7,8:7

10Advances in longitudinal studies of amnestic mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease based on multi-modal MRI techniques显示文摘Amnestic mild cognitive impairment(aMCI) is a prodromal stage of Alzheimer's disease(AD), and 75%–80% of aMCI patients fi nally develop AD. So, early identifi cation of patients with aMCI or AD is of great signifi cance for prevention and intervention. According to cross-sectional studies, it is known that the hippocampus, posterior cingulate cortex, and corpus callosum are key areas in studies based on structural MRI(sMRI), functional MRI(fMRI), and diffusion tensor imaging(DTI) respectively. Recently, longitudinal studies using each MRI modality have demonstrated that the neuroimaging abnormalities generally involve the posterior brain regions at the very beginning and then gradually affect the anterior areas during the progression of aMCI to AD. However, it is not known whether follow-up studies based on multi-modal neuroimaging techniques(e.g., sMRI, fMRI, and DTI) can help build effective MRI models that can be directly applied to the screening and diagnosis of aMCI and AD. Thus, in the future, large-scale multi-center follow-up studies are urgently needed, not only to build an MRI diagnostic model that can be used on a single person, but also to evaluate the variability and stability of the model in the general population. 11Structural organization and scale-free properties in Chinese Phrase Networks显示文摘Monkey language models are defined for Chi-nese Phrase Networks, and scale-free features of Chinese Phrase Networks are uncovered. It is pointed out that the ratio of average degree to the total number of nodes ( k /N ) is close to a constant. Simulation for the evolution of phrase networks indicates that one of the important reasons for power law distributions is the word selection frequency, which, when tuned aptly, can make the monkey language present similar statistic traits as that of natural languages. Power law tails emerge at large k, and the exponent is about 6. Comparison between monkey model and natural language shows that humans are able to use Chinese words resources in more effective and compact ways to express their inten-tions. 14Developing individual tree-based models for estimating aboveground biomass of five key coniferous species in China显示文摘Estimating individual tree biomass is critical to forest carbon accounting and ecosystem service modeling.In this study,we developed one-(tree diameter only) and two-variable(tree diameter and height) biomass equations,biomass conversion factor(BCF) models,and an integrated simultaneous equation system(ISES) to estimate the aboveground biomass for five conifer species in China,i.e.,Cunninghamia lanceolata(Lamb.) Hook.,Pinus massoniana Lamb.,P.yunnanensis Faranch,P.tabulaeformis Carr.and P.elliottii Engelm.,based on the field measurement data of aboveground biomass and stem volumes from 1055 destructive sample trees across the country.We found that all three methods,including the one-and two-variable equations,could adequately estimate aboveground biomass with a mean prediction error less than 5%,except for Pinus yunnanensis which yielded an error of about 6%.The BCF method was slightly poorer than the biomass equation and the ISES methods.The average coefficients of determination(R^2) were 0.944,0.938 and 0.943 and the mean prediction errors were 4.26,4.49 and 4.29% for the biomass equation method,the BCF method and the ISES method,respectively.The ISES method was the best approach for estimating aboveground biomass,which not only had high accuracy but also could estimate stocking volumes simultaneously that was compatible with aboveground biomass.In addition,we found that it is possible to develop a species-invariant one-variable allometric model for estimating aboveground biomass of all the five coniferous species.The model had an exponent parameter of 7/3 and the intercept parameter a_0 could be estimated indirectly from stem basic density(a_0= 0.294 q).Weisheng Zeng Liyong Fu Ming Xu Xuejun Wang Zhenxiong Chen Shunbin Yao 2018Journal of Forestry Research2018,29,5:5

16Numerical simulation of the hydrodynamic instability experiments and flow mixing显示文摘Based on the numerical methods of volume of fluid (VOF) and piecewise parabolic method (PPM) and parallel circumstance of Message Passing Interface (MPI),a parallel multi-viscosity-fluid hydrodynamic code MVPPM (Multi-Viscosity-Fluid Piecewise Parabolic Method) is developed and performed to study the hydrodynamic instability and flow mixing. Firstly,the MVPPM code is verified and validated by simulating three instability cases:The first one is a Riemann problem of viscous flow on the shock tube; the second one is the hydrodynamic instability and mixing of gaseous flows under re-shocks; the third one is a half height experiment of interfacial instability,which is conducted on the AWE's shock tube. By comparing the numerical results with experimental data,good agreement is achieved. Then the MVPPM code is applied to simulate the two cases of the interfacial instabilities of jelly models acceler-ated by explosion products of a gaseous explosive mixture (GEM),which are adopted in our experi-ments. The first is implosive dynamic interfacial instability of cylindrical symmetry and mixing. The evolving process of inner and outer interfaces,and the late distribution of mixing mass caused by Rayleigh-Taylor (RT) instability in the center of different radius are given. The second is jelly layer ex-periment which is initialized with one periodic perturbation with different amplitude and wave length. It reveals the complex processes of evolution of interface,and presents the displacement of front face of jelly layer,bubble head and top of spike relative to initial equilibrium position vs. time. 17Mitigating end effects of EMD using non-equidistance grey model显示文摘Aiming at mitigating end effects of empirical mode decomposition (EMD), a new approach motivated by the nonequidistance grey model (NGM) termed as NGM(1,1) is proposed. Other than trapezoid formulas, the cubic Hermite spline is put forward to improve the accuracy of derivative to the accumulated generating operation (AGO) series. Hopefully, it is worth stressing that the proposed NGM(1,1) model is particularly useful for predicting uncertainty data. Qualitative and quantitative comparisons between the proposed approach and other well-known algorithms are carried out through computer simulations on synthetic as well as natural signals. 18Estimates of heritability and correlation for growth traits of Turbot(Scophthalmus maximus L.) under low temperature conditions显示文摘The objectives of this present research were to assess the heritability of growth traits under low temperature conditions in turbot(Scophthalmus maximus L.), and to analyze the correlation between body weight(BW) and body length(BL). There were 536 individuals from 25 full- and half-sib families involved in this study. During the entire 90-day period, which was initiated at 233 dph(day old) and ended at 323 dph, the individuals' BW and BL were weighed consecutively six times every 18 days. The heritability of BW and BL and the correlation between these two traits were estimated based on an individual animal model with the derivative-free restricted maximum likelihood(DFREML) method. These results showed that the specific growth rates(SGR) of 25 families was from 0.75±0.11 to 1.05±0.14 under water temperature of 10.5–12°C. In addition, the heritability of BW and BL estimated under low-temperature were 0.32±0.04 and 0.47±0.06, respectively. The BW had a medium heritability(0.2–0.4), and the BL had a high heritability(>0.45), which suggested that selection for increased weight and length was feasible. Moreover, there was potential for mass selection on growth. The genetic and phenotypic correlations between BW and BL were 0.95±0.01 and 0.91±0.01(P < 0.01), respectively. 20Solvent extraction of U(VI) by trioctylphosphine oxide using a room-temperature ionic liquid显示文摘The unique physical and chemical properties of room-temperature ionic liquids(RTILs) have recently received increasing attention as solvent alternatives for possible application in the field of nuclear industry, particularly in liquid-liquid separations of radioactive nuclides. We investigated solvent extraction of U(VI) from aqueous solutions into a commonly used ionic liquid 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide([C4mim][NTf2]) using trioctylphosphine oxide(TOPO) as an extractant. The effects of contact time, TOPO concentration, acidity, and nitrate ions on the U(VI) extraction are discussed in detail. The extraction mechanism was proposed based on slope analysis and UV-Vis measurement. The results clearly show that TOPO/[C4mim][NTf2] provides a highly efficient extraction of U(VI) from aqueous solution under near-neutral conditions. When the TOPO concentration was 10 mmol/L, the extraction of 1 mmol/L U(VI) was almost complete(> 97%). Both the extraction efficiency and distribution coefficient were much larger than in conventional organic solvents such as dichloromethane. Slope analysis confirmed that three TOPO molecules in [C4mim][NTf2] bound with one U(VI) ion and one nitrate ion was also involved in the complexation and formed the final extracted species of [UO2(NO3)(TOPO)3]+.
