| 2 | Three-dimensional chiral microstructures fabricated by structured optical vortices in isotropic material显示文摘Optical vortices,a type of structured beam with helical phase wavefronts and‘doughnut’-shaped intensity distributions,have been used to fabricate chiral structures in metals and spiral patterns in anisotropic polarization-dependent azobenzene polymers.However,in isotropic polymers,the fabricated microstructures are typically confined to non-chiral cylindrical geometry due to the two-dimensional‘doughnut’-shaped intensity profile of the optical vortices.Here we develop a powerful strategy to realize chiral microstructures in isotropic material by coaxial interference of a vortex beam and a plane wave,which produces threedimensional(3D)spiral optical fields.These coaxial interference beams are generated by designing contrivable holograms consisting of an azimuthal phase and an equiphase loaded on a liquid-crystal spatial light modulator.In isotropic polymers,3D chiral microstructures are achieved under illumination using coaxial interference femtosecond laser beams with their chirality controlled by the topological charge.Our further investigation reveals that the spiral lobes and chirality are caused by interfering patterns and helical phase wavefronts,respectively.This technique is simple,stable and easy to perform,and it offers broad applications in optical tweezers,optical communications and fast metamaterial fabrication. | Jincheng Ni Chaowei Wang Chenchu Zhang Yanlei Hu Liang Yang Zhaoxin Lao Bing Xu Jiawen Li Dong Wu Jiaru Chu | 2017 | Light(Science & Applications)2017,6,1: | 28 |
| 3 | Effect of particle size on the microstructure and thermal conductivity of Al/diamond composites prepared by spark plasma sintering显示文摘Spark plasma sintering (SPS) was used to fabricate Al/diamond composites. The influence of diamond particle size on the microstructure and thermal conductivity (TC) of composites was investigated by combining experimental results with model prediction. The results show that both composites with 40 μm particles and 70 μm particles exhibit high density and good TC, and the composite with 70 μm particles indicates an excellent TC of 325 W·m-1·K-1. Their TCs lay between the theoretical estimated bounds. In contrast, the composite with 100 μm particles demonstrates low density as well as poor TC due to its high porosity and weak interfacial bonding. Its TC is even considerably less than the lower bound of the predicted value. | 4 | Effect of powder mixing process on the microstructure and thermal conductivity of Al/diamond composites fabricated by spark plasma sintering显示文摘Two powder mixing processes, mechanical mixing (MM) and mechanical alloying (MA), were used to prepare mixed Al/diamond powders, which were subsequently consolidated using spark plasma sintering (SPS) to produce bulk Al/diamond composites. The effects of the powder mixing process on the morphologies of the mixed powders, the microstructure and the thermal conductivity of the composites were investigated. The results show that the powder mixing process can significantly affect the microstructure and the thermal conductivity of the composites. Agglomerations of the particles occurred in mixed powders using MM for 30 min, which led to high pore content and weak interfacial bonding in the composites and resulted in low relative density and low thermal conductivity for the composites. Mixed powders of homogeneous distribution of diamond particles could be obtained using MA for 10 min and MM for 2 h. The composite prepared through MA indicated a high relative density but low thermal conductivity due to its defects, such as damaged particles, Fe impurity, and local interfacial debonding, which were mainly introduced in the MA process. | 5 | ζ-Carotene Isomerase Suppresses Tillering in Rice through the Coordinated Biosynthesis of Strigolactone and Abscisic Acid显示文摘Rice tillering is an important agronomic trait affecting grain yield.Here,we identified a high-tillering mutant tillering20(t20),which could be restored to the wild type by treatment with the strigolactone(SL)analog rac-GR24.T20 encodes a chloroplast ζ-carotene isomerase(Z-ISO),which is involved in the biosynthesis of ca-rotenoids and their metabolites,SL and abscisic acid(ABA).The t20 mutant has reduced SL and ABA,raising the question of how SL and ABA biosynthesis is coordinated,and whether they have overlapping functions in tillering.We discovered that rac-GR24 stimulated T20 expression and enhanced all-trans-p-carotene biosynthesis.Importantly,rac-GR24 also stimulated expression of Oryza sativa 9-CIS-EPOXY-CAROTENOID DIOXYGENASE 1(OsNCED1)through induction of Oryza sativa HOMEOBOX12(0sHOX12),promoting ABA biosynthesis in shoot base.On the other hand,ABA treatment significantly repressed SL biosynthesis and the ABA biosynthetic mutants displayed elevated SL biosynthesis.ABA treatment reduced the number of basal tillers in both t20 and wild-type plants.Furthermore,while ABA-deficient mu-tants aba1 and aba2 had the same number of basal tillers as wild type,they had more unproductive upper tillers at maturity.This work demonstrates complex interactions in the biosynthesis of carotenoid,SLs and ABA,and reveals a role for ABA in the regulation of rice tillering. | Xue Liu Qingliang Hu Jijun Yan Kai Sun Yan Liang Meiru Jia Xiangbing Meng Shuang Fang Yiqin Wang Yanhui Jing Guifu Liu Dianxing Wu Chengcai Chu Steven M.Smith Jinfang Chu Yonghong Wang Jiayang Li Bing Wang | 2020 | Molecular Plant2020,13,12: | 11 |
| 6 | Ni supported on activated carbon as catalyst for flue gas desulfurization显示文摘A series of Ni supported on activated carbon are prepared by excessive impregnation and the desulfurization activity is investigated. It has been shown that the activated carbon-supported Ni is an efficient solid catalyst for flue gas desulfurization. The activated carbon treated by HNO3 exhibits high desulfurization activity, and different amounts of loaded-Ni on activated carbon significantly influence the desulfurization activity. The catalysts are studied by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results of XRD and XPS indicate that the activated carbon treated by HNO3 can increase oxygen-containing functional groups. | 10 | Novel SNP of EPAS1 gene associated with higher hemoglobin concentration revealed the hypoxia adaptation of yak(Bos grunniens)显示文摘Endothelial PAS domain protein 1 gene(EPAS1) is a key transcription factor that activates the expression of oxygen-regulated genes. In this study, in order to better understand the effects of EPAS1 gene on hematologic parameters in yak, we firstly quantified the tissue expression patterns for EPAS1 m RNA of yak, identified polymorphism in this gene and evaluated its association with hematologic parameters. Expression of EPAS1 m RNA was detected in all eight tissues(heart, liver, lung, spleen, pancreas, kidney, muscles and ovary). The expressions of EPAS1 in lung and pancreas were extremely higher than other tissues examined. Three novel single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)(g.83052 C>T, g.83065 G>A and g.83067 C>A) within the EPAS1 were identified and genotyped in Pali(PL), Gannan(GN) and Tianzhu White(TZW) yak breeds. Significant higher frequencies of the AA and GA genotypes and A allele of the g.83065 G>A were observed in the PL and GN breeds than that in the TZW breed(P<0.01). Association analysis of the PL breed indicated that the g.83065 G>A polymorphism was significantly associated with hemoglobin(HGB) concentration in yaks(P<0.05). Individuals with genotype AA had significantly higher HGB concentration(P<0.05) than those with genotype GA and GG. | 11 | Analysis of genetic architecture and favorable allele usage of agronomic traits in a large collection of Chinese rice accessions显示文摘Genotyping and phenotyping large natural populations provide opportunities for population genomic analysis and genome-wide association studies(GWAS). Several rice populations have been re-sequenced in the past decade;however, many major Chinese rice cultivars were not included in these studies. Here, we report large-scale genomic and phenotypic datasets for a collection mainly comprised of 1,275 rice accessions of widely planted cultivars and parental hybrid rice lines from China. The population was divided into three indica/Xian and three japonica/Geng phylogenetic subgroups that correlate strongly with their geographic or breeding origins. We acquired a total of 146 phenotypic datasets for 29 agronomic traits under multi-environments for different subpopulations. With GWAS, we identified a total of 143 significant association loci, including three newly identified candidate genes or alleles that control heading date or amylose content. Our genotypic analysis of agronomically important genes in the population revealed that many favorable alleles are underused in elite accessions, suggesting they may be used to provide improvements in future breeding efforts. | 13 | Lead?Free Halide Double Perovskite Materials: A New Superstar Toward Green and Stable Optoelectronic Applications显示文摘Lead-based halide perovskites have emerged as excellent semiconductors for a broad range of optoelectronic applications, such as photovoltaics, lighting, lasing and photon detection. However, toxicity of lead and poor stability still represent significant challenges. Fortunately, halide double perovskite materials with formula of A_2M(I)M(III)X_6 or A_2M(IV)X_6 could be potentially regarded as stable and green alternatives for optoelectronic applications, where two divalent lead ions are substituted by combining one monovalent and one trivalent ions, or one tetravalent ion. Here, the article provides an up-to-date review on the developments of halide double perovskite materials and their related optoelectronic applications including photodetectors, X-ray detectors, photocatalyst, light-emitting diodes and solar cells. The synthesized halide double perovskite materials exhibit exceptional stability, and a few possess superior optoelectronic properties. However, the number of synthesized halide double perovskites is limited, and more limited materials have been developed for optoelectronic applications to date. In addition, the band structures and carrier transport properties of the materials are still not desired, and the films still manifest low quality for photovoltaic applications. | 14 | Predicted interfacial thermal conductance and thermal conductivity of diamond/Al composites with various interfacial coatings显示文摘The interfacial thermal conductance (ITC) and thermal conductivity (TC) of diamond/Al composites with various coatings were theoretically studied and discussed. A series of predictions and numerical analyses were performed to investigate the effect of thickness, sound velocity, and other parameters of coating layers on the ITC and TC. It is found that both the ITC and TC decline with increasing coating thickness, especially for the coatings with relatively low thermal conductivity. Nevertheless, if the coating thickness is close to zero, or quite a small value, the ITC and TC are mainly determined by the constants of the coating material. Under this condition, coatings such as Ni, TiC, Mo 2 C, SiC, and Si can significantly improve the ITC and TC of diamond/Al composites. By contrast, coatings like Ag will exert the negative effect. | 20 | Effect of processing parameters on the microstructure and thermal conductivity of diamond/Ag composites fabricated by spark plasma sintering显示文摘Diamond/metal composites with 50 vol.% diamond have been produced by spark plasma sintering(SPS) using pure Ag as a matrix and diamond particles as reinforcement.Three kinds of powder mixing processes were used to prepare the mixture of diamond/Ag powders:dry mixing without milling medium,wet mixing and magnetic blending.Subsequently,they were all consolidated by SPS at various processing parameters to produce bulk diamond/Ag composites.Then samples were heat treated in order to obtain a higher thermal conductivity.The effect of processing parameters on the morphologies of the mixed powders,the microstructure and the thermal conductivity of the composites were investigated by comparing the experimental data.It reveals that particles were easy to agglomerate and the distribution of mixed powders was inhomogeneous by dry mixing method,and wet mixing method is too complex.The most favorable mixing process is magnetic blending by which the powders can be homogenously mixed and the composites prepared by optimized SPS processing parameters can obtain the highest relative density and the best thermal conductivity among the composites prepared by different processes.The magnetic blending diamond/Ag composites even have a 23% increase in thermal conductivity compared with pure silver sintered by SPS. | GAO Wenjia,JIA Chengchang,JIA Xian,LIANG Xuebing,CHU Ke,ZHANG Luman,HUANG Hai,and LIU Meng School of Materials Science and Engineering,University of Science and Technology Beijing,Beijing 100083,China | 2010 | Rare Metals2010,29,6: | 6 |
