| 6 | Effects of acetylene at low concentrations on nitrification, mineralization and microbial biomass nitrogen concentrations in forest soils显示文摘Temperate forest surface soils at the varying distances from main trunks (e.g., Pinus koraiensis and Quercus mongolica) were used to study the effects of acetylene (C2H2) at low concentrations on nitrification, mineralization and microbial biomass N concentrations of the soils, and to assess the contribution of heterotrophic nitrification to nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from soils. The use of acetylene at partial pressures within a range from 10 to 100 Pa C2H2 in headspace gas gave a significant decrease in N2O emission at soil moisture of c. 45% water-filled porosity space, and the decrease was almost the same in each soil after exposure of C2H2 at low concentrations. Heterotrophic nitrification could account for 21%―48% of total N2O emission from each soil; the contribution would increase with increasing distances from the Pinus koraiensis trunks rather than from the Quercus mongolica trunks. Under the experimental conditions, the use of C2H2 at low concentrations showed no significant influ- ence on soil microbial biomass N, net N mineralization and microbial respiration. However, 100 Pa C2H2 in headspace gas could reduce carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from soils. According to the rapid consumption of 10 Pa C2H2 by forest soils and convenience for laboratory incubations, 50 Pa C2H2 in headspace gas can be used to study the origin of N2O emissions from forest soils under aerobic con- ditions and the key associated driving mechanisms. The N2O and CO2 emissions from the soils at the same distances from the Quercus mongolica trunks were larger than those from the Pinus koraiensis trunks, and both emissions decreased as the distances from trunks increased. The stepwise regression analysis showed that 95% of the variability in soil CO2 emissions could be accounted for by the concentrations of soil total C and water soluble organic C and soil pH, and that 72% of the variability in soil N2O emissions could be accounted for by the concentrations of soil total N, exchangeable NH+4-N and microbial biomass N and 25% of the variability in heterotrophic nitrification by the soil microbial biomass N concentration. | 9 | Inactivation of FOXO1 induces T follicular cell polarization and involves angioimmunoblastic T cell lymphoma显示文摘Objective:Angioimmunoblastic T cell lymphoma(AITL)is an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma derived from mature T cells.However,the underlying pathogenesis of AITL remains unresolved.We aimed to explore the role of FOXO1-mediated signaling in the tumorigenesis and progression of AITL.Methods:FOXO1 expression was assessed using immunohistochemistry on a total of 46 AITL tissue samples.Retroviruses encoding FOXO1 shRNA were used to knockdown FOXO1 expression in CD4^+T cells.Flow cytometric assays analyzed the proliferation and survival of FOXO1 knockdown CD4^+T cells.Furthermore,we performed adoptive T-cell transfer experiments to identify whether inactivation of FOXO1 induced neoplastic follicular-helper T(Tfh)cell polarization and function.Results:Patients with low FOXO1 protein levels were prone to have an advanced tumor stage(P=0.049),higher ECOG ps(P=0.024),the presence of bone marrow invasion(P=0.000),and higher IPI(P=0.035).Additionally,the survival rates of patients in the FOXO1 high-expression group were significantly better than those in the FOXO1 low-expression group(χ^2=5.346,P=0.021).We also observed that inactivation of FOXO1 increased CD4^+T cell proliferation and altered the survival and cell-cycle progression of CD4^+T cells.Finally,we confirmed that inactivation of FOXO1 induces Tfh cell programing and function.Conclusions:Inactivation of FOXO1 in AITL plays a key role in the tumorigenesis and progression of AITL.We propose that FOXO1 expression could be a useful prognostic marker in AITL patients to predict poor survival,and to design appropriate therapeutic strategies. | Meifang Xu Fei Wang Hong Chen Lin Liu Wenwen Liu Yinghong Yang Qiaoling Zheng Lihong Zhang Xiaoxuan Li Suxia Lin Shengbing Zang | 2019 | Cancer Biology & Medicine2019,16,4: | 1 |

| 11 | Characteristic of rich-mixture ignition kernel driven by nanosecond repetitive pulsed discharge显示文摘Plasma-assisted ignition is a promising technology to improve engine performance. Nanosecond repetitive pulsed discharge is widely used in plasma-assisted ignition owing to its chemical activations and thermal and hydrodynamic expansions. However, the influence of ultrafast heating and hydrodynamic effects on the development of the rich-mixture ignition kernel is largely unknown. The present study aims to illustrate these effects using electrical and schlieren measurement. The number and the frequency of discharge pulses are exactly controlled to establish the relationship among the discharge energy, frequency, and rich-mixture ignition-kernel characteristics. The evolution of the ignition kernel in the early stage is mainly dominated by the discharge energy and frequency, i.e., a greater energy and a higher frequency yield a larger ignition kernel. Moreover, the influence of both the energy and frequency on the ignition kernel gradually disappears as the ignition kernel develops. According to the experimental data and theoretical analysis, the calculated laminar burning velocity is 0.319 m/s with a Markstein length of 13.43±0.11 cm when the voltage is 5.9 k V, the frequency is 3 k Hz, and the equivalence ratio is 1.3.
