1Microwave-assisted catalytic oxidation of gaseous toluene with a Cu-Mn-Ce/cordierite honeycomb catalyst显示文摘A novel Cu-Mn-Ce/cordierite honeycomb catalyst was prepared by an incipient wetness method and the catalyst was characterized. The active ingredients were present as various spinel species of Cu, Mn and Ce oxides with different valences and they were unevenly dispersed over the surface of the catalyst. The catalytic oxidation of gaseous toluene was primarily investigated using a fixed bed reactor under microwave heating in the continuous flow mode. Under the optimal conditions of 6.7 wt-% loading of the active component, a bed temperature of 200℃, a flow rate of 0.12 m^3 · h^-1 and an initial concentration of toluene of 1000 mg·m^-3, the removal and mineralization efficiencies of toluene were 98% and 70%, respectively. Thus the use of the microwave effectively improved the oxidation of toluene and this is attributed to dipole polarization and hotspot effects. After four consecutive cycles (a total of 1980 min), the Cu-Mn- Ce/cordierite catalyst still exhibited excellent catalytic activity and structural stability, and the toluene removal was higher than 90%. 2Prioritizing natural-selection signals from the deep-sequencing genomic data suggests multi-variant adaptation in Tibetan highlanders显示文摘Human genetic adaptation to high altitudes(>2500 m)has been extensively studied over the last few years,but few functional adaptive genetic variants have been identified,largely owing to the lack of deep-genome sequencing data available to previous studies.Here,w e build a list of putative adaptive variants,including 63 missense,7 loss-of-function;1,298 evolutionarily conserved variants and 509 expression quantitative traits loci.Notably,the top signal of selection is located in TMEM 247,a transmembrane protein-coding gene.The Tibetan version of TMEM 247 harbors one high-frequency(76.3%)missense variant,rsl 16983452(c.248C>T;p.Ala83Val);with the T allele derived from archaic ancestry and carried by>94%of Tibetans but absent or in low frequencies(<3%)in non-Tibetan populations.The rsl 16983452-T is strongly and positively correlated with altitude and significantly associated with reduced hemoglobin concentration(p=5.78×10^-5),red blood cell count(p=5.72×10^-7)and hematocrit(p=2.57×10^-6).In particular,TMEM247-rs 116983452 shows greater effect size and better predicts the phenotypic outcome than any E P A S1 variants in association with adaptive traits in Tibetans.Modeling the interaction between TM£M247-rsl 16983452 and EPAS1 variants indicates weak but statistically significant epistatic effects.Our results support that multiple variants may jointly deliver the fitness of the Tibetans on the plateau,where a complex model is needed to elucidate the adaptive evolution mechanism.Lian Deng Chao Zhang Kai Yuan Yang Gao Yuwen Pan Xueling Ge Yaoxi He Yuan Yuan Yan Lu Xiaoxi Zhang Hao Chen Haiyi Lou Xiaoji Wang Dongsheng Lu Jiaojiao Liu Lei Tian Qidi Feng Asifullah Khan Yajun Yang Zi-Bing Jin Jian Yang Fan Lu Jia Qu Longli Kang Bing Su Shuhua Xu 2019National Science Review2019,6,6:9

4Microwave assisted wet oxidation of p-nitrophenol显示文摘Aqueous solution of p-nitrophenol (PNP) was treated continuously by microwave assisted wet oxidation while flowing through a granular activated carbon (GAC) fixed bed. PNP was pre-adsorbed onto GAC prior to being put into the reactor so as to prevent PNP adsorption on GAC during microwave irradiation. PNP solutions with different initial concentration (218.6 mg/L and 1200 mg/L) were treated under conditions of microwave power 500 W, liquid flow 6.4 mL/min and air flow 40 mL/min or 60 mL/min. The results indicated that the removal of PNP was higher than 90% and more than 65% PNP was mineralized. Phenol, nitrobenzene, hydroquinone and benzoquinone occurred as course products during the operation process, which were degraded further. 5Synthesis of Reassortant Infectious Bursal Disease Virus in Chickens Injected Directly with Infectious Clones from Different Virus Strains显示文摘The infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV), a member of the Birnaviridae family, containing a bisegmented double-stranded RNA genome, encodes four structural viral proteins, VP1, VP2, VP3, and VP4, as well as a non-structural protein, VP5. In the present paper, the segment A from two IBDV strains,field isolate ZJ2000 and attenuated strain HZ2, were inserted into one NaeⅠ site by site-directed silent mutagenesis and subcloned into the eukaryotic expression plasmid pCI under the control of the human cytomegalovirus (hCMV) immediate early enhancer and promoter to construct the recombinant plasmids pCI-AKZJ2000 and pCI-AKHZ2, respectively. Each of the two recombinants was combined with another recombinant pCI plasmid containing the marked segment B of strain HZ2 (pCI-mB), and injected intramuscularly into nonimmunized chickens. Two chimeric IBDV strains were recovered from the chickens. Two out of eight chickens in each of two groups showed the bursal histopathological change. The reassortant virus derived from pCI-AKZJ2000/pCI-mB can infect chicken embryos and shows relatively low virulence. We have developed a novel virus reverse genetic approach for the study of IBDV. 6Study on Property of Salicylaldehyde Schiff Base Metal Complexes for Catalytic Oxidation of Model Sulfides显示文摘Seven kinds of Schiff base metal complexes(C1-C7)were synthesized by the reaction of substituted salicylaldehyde Schiff base with cobalt nitrate,nickel nitrate,and copper nitrate,respectively.The oxygen carrying performance,and the catalytic property of complexes for the oxidation of model sulfides 1-hexanethiol,dibutyl sulfide,and 2-methylthiophene along with their influencing factors were explored,while the oxidized products of the model sulfides were also analyzed and characterized.The results show that the catalytic oxidation property of the complexes is determined by their oxygen carrying performance and solubility in n-octane.The oxygen carrying performance of the complexes is mainly affected by the central ion species,the electronic effects,and the spatial effects of the substituents as well as the degree of conjugation.More specifically,the oxygen carrying performance can be improved by enhancing the oxygenation capacity of the central metal ions,increasing the electron donating ability of the ligand substituent,and diminishing the steric hindrance as well as extending the conjugated chain.Complexes C7 were found to be with high oxygen carrying capacity and high solubility in n-octane,which shows the best catalytic oxidation property,and the oxidation conversion rates for 1-hexylthiol,dibutyl sulfide,and 2-methylthiophene are 74.2%,65.1%,and 22.7%,respectively.Upon using the oxidation catalyst of Schiff base metal complexes,three sulfides can be oxidized by oxygen to form sulfones and sulfoxides.1-Hexanethiol and dibutyl sulfide will continue to be oxidized to form sulfates and sulfites.Jia Chaoyang Liang Shuyuan Liu Lei Shao Xue Zhang Longli Wang Fangzhu Jiang Cuiyu 2021China Petroleum Processing & Petrochemical Technology2021,23,1:2
7Biodegradation of trace pharmaceutical substances in wastewater by a membrane bioreactor显示文摘The biodegradation of selected pharmaceutical micropollutants,including two pharmaceuticals with argued biodegradation,was studied by a lab-scale membrane bioreactor.The reaction kinetics and affecting factors were also investigated in this paper.Clofibric acid(CA)with contradictive biodegradation reported was degraded almost completely at different hydraulic retention times(HRTs)after adaptation to microorganisms.The biodegradation of CA was disturbed at low pH operation,while the activity of microorganisms recovered again after pH adjustment to neutral condition.Ibuprofen(IBP)degraded under neutral and acidic conditions.Removals of IBP and CA were zero-order and first-order reactions under high and low initial concentrations,respectively.Carbamazepine and diclofenac were not degraded regardless of HRTs and pH.Longli BO Taro URASE Xiaochang WANG 2009Frontiers of Environmental Science & Engineering2009,3,2:2
