2Reducing Cyclic Prefix Overhead Based on Symbol Repetition in NB-IoT-Based Maritime Communication显示文摘With the increasing maritime activities,a great demand of wide-area maritime digital data services is needed.Therefore,Narrowband Internet of Things(NB-IoT)that can provide wide coverage has been expected as an application for maritime communication networks(MCNS).In this paper,we aim to enhance the spectral efficiency in NB-IoT by reducing the cyclic prefix(CP)overhead in random access signal without causing interference.The key point of the proposed scheme is the symbols transmitted for multiple times repeatedly in NB-IoT.Specifically,all CP are removed and multi-path fading effect is eliminated by using a repeated symbol to cover the disturbed symbol to construct a circular convolution structure of the channel with the same effect as adding CP.In addition,a single-tap equalization is still appropriate.To validate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme,simulation results are carried out with respect to the bit error ratio(BER).Tian Xiang Daiming Qu Faquan Zhang Dejin Kong 2022China Communications2022,19,9:1

7List-Serial Pipelined Hardware Architecture for SCL Decoding of Polar Codes显示文摘For polar codes,the performance of successive cancellation list(SCL)decoding is capable of approaching that of maximum likelihood decoding.However,the existing hardware architectures for the SCL decoding suffer from high hardware complexity due to calculating L decoding paths simultaneously,which are unfriendly to the devices with limited logical resources,such as field programmable gate arrays(FPGAs).In this paper,we propose a list-serial pipelined hardware architecture with low complexity for the SCL decoding,where the serial calculation and the pipelined operation are elegantly combined to strike a balance between the complexity and the latency.Moreover,we employ only one successive cancellation(SC)decoder core without L×L crossbars,and reduce the number of inputs of the metric sorter from 2L to L+2.Finally,the FPGA implementations show that the hardware resource consumption is significantly reduced with negligible decoding performance loss.Zhongxiu Feng Cong Niu Zhengyu Zhang Jiaxi Zhou Daiming Qu Tao Jiang 2023China Communications2023,20,3:0
8LOW COMPLEXITY LMMSE TURBO EQUALIZATION FOR COMBINED ERROR CONTROL CODED AND LINEARLY PRECODED OFDM显示文摘The turbo equalization approach is studied for Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) system with combined error control coding and linear precoding. While previous literatures employed linear precoder of small size for complexity reasons, this paper proposes to use a linear precoder of size larger than or equal to the maximum length of the equivalent discrete-time channel in order to achieve full frequency diversity and reduce complexities of the error control coder/decoder. Also a low complexity Linear Minimum Mean Square Error (LMMSE) turbo equalizer is derived for the receiver. Through simulation and performance analysis, it is shown that the performance of the proposed scheme over frequency selective fading channel reaches the matched filter bound; compared with the same coded OFDM without linear precoding, the proposed scheme shows an Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) improvement of at least 6dB at a bit error rate of 10-6 over a multipath channel with exponential power delay profile.
