1Coagonist of glucagon-like peptide-1 and glucagon receptors ameliorates kidney injury in murine models of obesity and diabetes mellitus显示文摘AIM To investigate the role of glucagon-like peptide-1(GLP-1)/glucagon receptors coagonist on renal dysfunction associated with diabetes and obesity. METHODS Chronic high-fat diet fed C57 BL/6 J mice, streptozotocintreated high-fat diet fed C57 BL/6 J mice and diabeticC57 BLKS/J db/db mice were used as models of diabetes-induced renal dysfunction. The streptozotocintreated high-fat diet fed mice and db/db mice were treated with the GLP-1 and glucagon receptors coagonist(Aib2 C24 Chimera2, 150 μg/kg, sc) for twelve weeks, while in chronic high-fat diet fed mice, coagonist(Aib2 C24 Chimera2, 150 μg/kg, sc) treatment was continued for forty weeks. Kidney function, histology, fibrosis, inflammation, and plasma biochemistry were assessed at the end of the treatment. RESULTS Coagonist treatment decreased body weight, plasma lipids, insulin resistance, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen, urinary albumin excretion rate and renal lipids. In kidney, expression of lipogenic genes(SREBP-1 C, FAS, and SCD-1) was decreased, and expression of genes involved in β-oxidation(CPT-1 and PPAR-α) was increased due to coagonist treatment. In plasma, coagonist treatment increased adiponectin and FGF21 and decreased IL-6 and TNF-?. Coagonist treatment reduced expression of inflammatory(TNF-α, MCP-1, and MMP-9) and pro-fibrotic(TGF-β, COL1 A1, and α-SMA) genes and also improved histological derangement in renal tissue.CONCLUSION Coagonist of GLP-1 and glucagon receptors alleviated diabetes and obesity-induced renal dysfunction by reducing glucose intolerance, obesity, and hyperlipidemia.Vishal J Patel Amit A Joharapurkar Samadhan G Kshirsagar Brijesh K Sutariya Maulik S Patel Hiren M Patel Dheerendra K Pandey Rajesh H Bahekar Mukul R Jain 2018World Journal of Diabetes2018,9,6:5
2Pathological,molecular,and clinical characteristics of cholangiocarcinoma:A comprehensive review显示文摘Cholangiocarcinomas are a heterogeneous group of highly aggressive cancers that may arise anywhere within the biliary tree.There is a wide geographical variation with regards to its incidence,and risk-factor associations which may include liver fluke infection,primary sclerosing cholangitis,and hepatolithiasis amongst others.These tumours are classified into intrahepatic,perihilar and distal based on their anatomical location.Morphologically,intrahepatic cholangiocarcinomas are further sub-classified into small and large duct variants.Perihilar and distal cholangiocarcinomas are usually mucin-producing tubular adenocarcinomas.Cholangiocarcinomas develop through a multistep carcinogenesis and are preceded by dysplastic and in situ lesions.While clinical characteristics and management of these tumours have been extensively elucidated in literature,their ultra-structure and tumour biology remain relatively unknown.This review focuses on the current knowledge of pathological characteristics,molecular alterations of cholangiocarcinoma,and its precursor lesions(including biliary intraepithelial neoplasia,intraductal papillary neoplasms of the bile duct,intraductal tubulopapillary neoplasms and mucinous cystic neoplasm).Mukul Vij Yogesh Puri Ashwin Rammohan Gowripriya G Rajesh Rajalingam Ilankumaran Kaliamoorthy Mohamed Rela 2022World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology2022,14,3:4
3Fungal diversity notes 367-490:taxonomic and phylogenetic contributions to fungal taxa显示文摘This is a continuity of a series of taxonomic papers where materials are examined,described and novel combinations are proposed where necessary to improve our traditional species concepts and provide updates on their classification.In addition to extensive morphological descriptions and appropriate asexual and sexual connections,DNA sequence data are also analysed from concatenated datasets(rDNA,TEF-a,RBP2 and b-Tubulin)to infer phylogenetic relationships and substantiate systematic position of taxa within appropriate ranks.Wherever new species or combinations are being proposed,we apply an integrative approach(morphological and molecular data as well as ecological features wherever applicable).Notes on 125 fungal taxa are compiled in this paper,including eight new genera,101 new species,two new combinations,one neotype,four reference specimens,new host or distribution records for eight species and one alternative morphs.The new genera introduced in this paper are Alloarthopyrenia,Arundellina,Camarosporioides,Neomassaria,Neomassarina,Neotruncatella,Paracapsulospora and Pseudophaeosphaeria.The new species are Alfaria spartii,Alloarthopyrenia italica,Anthostomella ravenna,An.thailandica,Arthrinium paraphaeospermum,Arundellina typhae,Aspergillus koreanus,Asterina
