1Land use change in highland area and its impact on river water quality:a review of case studies in Malaysia显示文摘The policy of encouraging agriculture and development for mass tourism has led to environmental problems in Cameron Highlands,Malaysia.Rampant development and land clearing have significantly altered the land cover of Cameron Highlands for the past 30 years.Sensitive highlands areas are prone to landslides and soil erosion which then contributed to the main water pollution issues in the network of river system,sedimentation and siltation.The continuous trend of river water quality deterioration in Cameron Highlands has raised the issues for discussion in this review article.The purpose of this review is to briefly summarize the land use change,agriculture practices,agro-tourism,and agriculture policy and management toward water quality of the river system network in Cameron Highlands specifically in the downtown where most of the development and agriculture activities are concentrated.A rigorous review has been done on the existing literature to determine the relationship between land use change and agriculture practices toward river water quality in Cameron Highlands from 2001 to 2017.The total number of reviewed papers was 68.The outcomes established from previous researchers have highlighted factors such as soil erosion,landslides,agriculture activities,urbanization,and unplanned development associated with land use change have significantly influenced the river water quality in the highland areas.Continuous land use changes without proper development plan and law enforcement may critically threaten the sustainability of river network in the highlands area.Azlini Razali Sharifah Norkhadijah Syed Ismail Suriyani Awang Sarva Mangala Praveena Emilia Zainal Abidin 2018Ecological Processes2018,7,1:2

4The impact of germanium in strained Si/relaxed Si_(1-x)Ge_x on carrier performance in non-degenerate and degenerate regimes显示文摘The impact of the fraction of germanium on the carrier performance of two-dimensional strained silicon, which embraces both the non-degenerate and degenerate regimes,is developed.In this model,the Fermi integral of order zero is employed.The impact of the fraction of germanium on the relaxed Si1-xGex substrate(x),carrier concentration and temperature is reported.It is revealed that the effect of x on the hole concentration is dominant for a normalized Fermi energy of more than three,or in other words the non-degenerate regime.On the contrary, the x gradient has less influence in the degenerate regime.Furthermore,by increasing x there is an increase in the intrinsic velocity,particularly with high carrier concentration and temperature.EngSiew Kang S Anwar M T Ahmadi Razali Ismail 2013Journal of Semiconductors2013,34,6:1
5Strain effect on graphene nanoribbon carrier statistic in the presence of non-parabolic band structure显示文摘The effect of tensile uniaxial strain on the non-parabolic electronic band structure of armchair graphene nanoribbon(AGNR) is investigated.In addition,the density of states and the carrier statistic based on the tight-binding Hamiltonian are modeled analytically.It is found that the property of AGNR in the non-parabolic band region is varied by the strain.The tunable energy band gap in AGNR upon strain at the minimum energy is described for each of n-AGNR families in the non-parabolic approximation.The behavior of AGNR in the presence of strain is attributed to the breakable AGNR electronic band structure,which varies the physical properties from its normality.The linear relation between the energy gap and the electrical properties is featured to further explain the characteristic of the deformed AGNR upon strain.N A Izuani Che Rosid M T Ahmadi Razali Ismail 2016Chinese Physics B2016,25,9:0
