| 9 | Microsporidiosis in Iran:A systematic review and meta-analysis显示文摘Objective:To examine all evidences about Microspondia infection in vertebrate/invertebrate hosts and Iranian populations distributed in different regions of the country. Methods:All published articles up to December 2015,including descriptive and cross-sectional studies related to the prevalence and genotyping of Microspondia infection in Iran, was considered in this systematic review. The meta-analysis was done using the random-effects model and Stats Direct statistical software.MEGA 5.05 software and maximum likelihood algorithm with Kimura 2-parameter model were used for phylogenetic analysis. Results:Of the 1 152 investigated studies,33 eligible studies reported a prevalence of Microspondia infection in vertebrate and invertebrate hosts.According to this systematic review, the overall prevalence rate of Microsporidia infection in immunocompromised patients in Iran was 8.18%.Furthermore,the overall prevalence rate of Microsporidia infection in immunocompromised patients with chronic diarrhoea, patients with non-diarrhoea,gastroenteritis,and patients with CD4(< 200 cells/μL) was 15.4%,4.1%,0.5%,and 12.9%respectively.The highest prevalence rate of human and animal Microsporidia was estimated in Kerman(29%) and Khuzestan(26.5%).The overall prevalence rate of Microsporidia infection in honeybees using the random-effects model was 40%.Furthermore,the highest prevalence rate of nosemosis was described in East Azerbaijan(48.2%).The maximum number of Microsporidia isolates from immunocompromised patients and pigeons in Iran belonged to genotypes D(n=16;50%) and E(n=6;20.6%) of Enterocytozoon bieneusi. Conclusions:This study may be the first systematic review and meta-analysis that provides a broad outlook on the prevalence of microsporidiosis in Iran.It is necessary to investigate Microsporidia infection in vertebrate and invertebrate hosts and environmental resources in Iran. | Roghayeh Ghoyounchi Ehsan Ahmadpour Adel Spotin Mahmoud Mahami-Oskouei Azim Rezamand Nayyereh Aminisani Morteza Ghojazadeh Reza Berahmat Tahereh Mikaeili-Galeh | 2017 | Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2017,10,4: | 0 |
| 10 | Total Tract Apparent Digestibility, Serum Fatty Acid Profile, and Productive Performances of Mid-lactating Dairy Cows Fed with Dietary Betaine显示文摘It is hypothesized that betaine supplementation improves production performance in mid-lactation dairy cows.Twenty-one mid-lactation dairy cows were assigned to a 3×3 Latin square design with three periods of 28 d each and fed three treatments of betaine(0,100,and 200 g/d).Milk samples were collected on day 21 and day 28 of each period.During days 21 to 28,cows were fed with chromic oxide(15 g/d per cow).On days 26 to 28,fecal samples were collected to determine apparent total tract nutrient digestion.Blood samples were obtained on days 26 to 28 of each period for fatty acid(FA)analysis.Data were analyzed using the Proc Mixed in SAS.Apparent total tract dry matter(DM)digestibility tended to be greater for cows supplemented with 100 g betaine as compared to no dietary betaine(61 vs.58±1%;p=0.1).In contrast,DM intake(DMI),milk fat percent, milk yield,energy-corrected milk(ECM)yield, and milk FA composition did not differ among treatments.Supplementation of betaine can decrease the serum saturated FA C11,C12,C15 and C17,total monounsaturated FA,and C18:2 all trans-9,12.In addition, total serum n-3 polyunsaturated FA was significantly increased. This result can decrease total serum n-6 to n-3 ratio(6.80,7.07,and 6.50±0.16%,for 0,100,and 200 g betaine,respectively;p=0.04).Overall,even betaine supplementation did not change DMI or production, betaine could affect the DM digestibility and serum FA biosynthesis. | Hao-Che Hung Chia-Yu Tsai Gwinyai Chibisa Mireille Chahine Pedram Rezamand | 2020 | Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology(A)2020,10,5: | 0 |
| 11 | Preference, Feeding Behavior, and in Vitro Fermentation Characteristics of Pelleted Feeds Containing Alkaline Aqueous Lignin By-Product from Paper Processing in Holstein Heifers显示文摘The objectives of this study were to evaluate the effect of using multiple dietary inclusion rates of alkaline aqueous lignin by-product(AALB),in replacing a commercial binder,on the preference and feeding behavior of dairy heifers, and in vitro digestibility. In the experiment I,five pelleted diets including negative control(no-binder),commercial lignosulfonate binder, and 1.6%,3.2%,and 4.8%of AALB were tested. In the experiment II,five pelleted diets including negative control, positive control(2%molasses),and 1%,2.4%,and 3.8%of AALB(all combined with 2%of molasses)were tested.Feeding behavior and preference were determined for 60 min per animal per evaluation. In vitro digestibility was determined for each pelleted diet for 48 h over five incubation runs. Results from Experiment I showed animals receiving 1.6%of AALB diet showed the greatest preference(dry matter(DM),intake)and a greater number of approaches with eating than other diets. The preference was lower when animals received control or 4.8%AALB diets relative to other diets. Results from Experiment II revealed animals receiving 3.8%AALB combined with molasses showed the greatest DM intake preference over 60 min,and DM intake per approach.Diets that included 2.4%and 3.8%of AALB combined with molasses presented the greatest in vitro DM digestibility.Overall, heifers showed a greater intake when receiving pelleted diets with 1.6%AALB.Furthermore,preference,intake over 60 min,and in vitro DM digestibility, were greater in the pelleted diets that contained higher rates of AALB when combined with molasses. | Bruna C.Agustinho Hsin-Tai Hong Kathryne Blair Chia-Yu Tsai Hao-Che Hung Anne H.Laarman Pedram Rezamand | 2022 | Journal of Agricultural Science and Technology(A)2022,12,2: | 0 |
