1Influence of heterogeneity on rock strength and stiffness using discrete element method and parallel bond model显示文摘The particulate discrete element method(DEM) can be employed to capture the response of rock,provided that appropriate bonding models are used to cement the particles to each other.Simulations of laboratory tests are important to establish the extent to which those models can capture realistic rock behaviors.Hitherto the focus in such comparison studies has either been on homogeneous specimens or use of two-dimensional(2D) models.In situ rock formations are often heterogeneous,thus exploring the ability of this type of models to capture heterogeneous material behavior is important to facilitate their use in design analysis.In situ stress states are basically three-dimensional(3D),and therefore it is important to develop 3D models for this purpose.This paper revisits an earlier experimental study on heterogeneous specimens,of which the relative proportions of weaker material(siltstone) and stronger,harder material(sandstone) were varied in a controlled manner.Using a 3D DEM model with the parallel bond model,virtual heterogeneous specimens were created.The overall responses in terms of variations in strength and stiffness with different percentages of weaker material(siltstone) were shown to agree with the experimental observations.There was also a good qualitative agreement in the failure patterns observed in the experiments and the simulations,suggesting that the DEM data enabled analysis of the initiation of localizations and micro fractures in the specimens.Spyridon Liakas Catherine O’Sullivan Charalampos Saroglou 2017Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2017,9,4:7
2Fracturing process and effect of fracturing degree onwave velocity of a crystalline rock显示文摘The present paper investigates the effect of fracturing degree on P-and S-wave velocities in rock.The deformation of intact brittle rocks under loading conditions is characterized by a microcracking procedure,which occurs due to flaws in their microscopic structure and propagates through the intact rock,leading to shear fracture.This fracturing process is of fundamental significance as it affects the mechanical properties of the rock and hence the wave velocities.In order to determine the fracture mechanism and the effect of fracturing degree,samples were loaded at certain percentages of peak strength and ultrasonic wave velocity was recorded after every test.The fracturing degree was recorded on the outer surface of the sample and quantified by the use of the indices P_(10)(traces of joints/m),P_(20)(traces of joints/m^2) and P_(21)(length of fractures/m^2).It was concluded that the wave velocity decreases exponentially with increasing fracturing degree.Additionally,the fracturing degree is described adequately with the proposed indices.Finally,other parameters concerning the fracture characteristics,rock type and scale influence were found to contribute to the velocity decay and need to be investigated further.Charalampos Saroglou Vasileios Kallimogiannis 2017Journal of Rock Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering2017,9,5:6
3HBeAg negative serological status and low viral replication levels characterize chronic hepatitis B virus-infected women at reproductive age in Greece: A one-year prospective single center study显示文摘AIM: To evaluate the seroprevalence of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) in 13 581 women at reproductive age and the hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg)/anti-HBe status as well as serum hepatitis B virus (HBV)-DNA levels in a subgroup of HBsAg(+) pregnant women at labor in Greece.METHODS: Serological markers were detected using enzyme immunoassays. Serum HBV-DNA was determined by a sensitive quantitative PCR assay. Statistical analysis of data was based on parametric methodology.RESULTS: Overall, 1.156% of women were HBsAg(+)and the majority of them (71.3%) were Albanian. The prevalence of HBsAg was 5.1% in Albanian women, 4.2%in Asian women and 1.14% in women from Eastem European countries. The prevalence of HBsAg in African (0.36%) and Greek women (0.29%) was very low. Only 4.45% of HBsAg (+) women were also HBeAg(+) whereas the vast majority of them were HBeAg(-)/anti-HBe(+). Undetectable levels of viremia (<200 copies/mL) were observed in 32.26% of pregnant women at labor and 29.03% exhibited extremely low levels of viral replication (<400 copies/mL). Only two pregnant women exhibited extremely high serum HBVDNA levels (>10 000 000 copies/mL), whereas 32.26%exhibited HBV-DNA levels between 1 500 and 40 000copies/mL.CONCLUSION: The overall prevalence of HBsAg is relatively low among women at reproductive age in Greece but is higher enough among specific populations. The HBeAg(-)/anti-HBe(+) serological status and the extremely low or even undetectable viral replicative status in the majority of HBsAg(+) women of our study population, suggest that only a small proportion of HBsAg(+) women in Greece exhibit a high risk for vertical transmission of the infection.Ioannis S. 4A-BQ,一种基于BQ 的各向异性岩体质量分级系统显示文摘自然界中岩体的力学行为多数表现为各向异性,现有的岩体质量分级方法大多是基于各向同性假设,因此远远难以满足工程要求。本研究在中国岩体质量分级标准BQ的基础上,提出了一种各向异性岩体质量分级系统A-BQ。该系统可用来评估岩体的各向异性程度,同时还可以对各向异性岩体的质量进行评估分级。系统中考虑了岩石的固有各向异性和岩体结构的各向异性,分别采用岩石强度的各向异性和岩体完整性系数的各向异性表征。岩体的各向异性程度通过不同作用方向下岩体的最好与最差质量得分之比确定,并由围岩应力进行调整。基于岩体各向异性结构的产状,结合岩体最好和最差质量得分,可计算各向异性岩体的基本得分,再通过应力状态和地下水因子的校正,获得各向异性岩体的ABQ值,在此基础上将岩体质量分为5级。针对不同岩体质量级别给出了隧道和边坡工程可能的稳定性状态和破坏模式。最后以实际的各向异性岩体隧道和边坡工程为例,对该分级方法进行了应用。郭松峰 祁生文 SAROGLOU Charalampos 2020Journal of Central South University2020,27,10:2
