1Fluorine-containing oxidizers for metal fuels in energetic formulations显示文摘Fluorine containing oxidizers, primarily polymers, are extensively used in pyrotechnic compositions.Fluorinated oxidizers are less explored for metalized propellants and explosives despite a potential advantage of substantial heat release combined with gaseous combustion products. This review summarizes different types of fluorinated oxidizers used in energetic formulations or of potential interest for such systems, including gases, polymers, and inorganic compounds. Types of energetic formulations employing metals and fluoropolymers are discussed in more detail, including methods used to prepare composites and resulting salient features of the obtained materials. Laboratory experiments characterizing such materials, in particular, electron microscopy and thermal analysis, are discussed, showing characteristic morphologies and reaction sequences observed in different metal-fluorinated oxidizer composites. Striking similarities are noted in reaction sequences for diverse compositions hinting at possible similarities in the respective reaction mechanisms. Experiments probing ignition and combustion of metal-fluorinated oxidizer composites in laboratory conditions are also reviewed, including impact, flash heating and shock ignition. Finally, some practical performance tests for energetic formulations are described following by a brief discussion of the reaction mechanisms expected to govern ignition and combustion in various metal-fluorinated oxidizer composites. 2Antidiabetic activity of alcoholic leaves extract of Alangium lamarckii Thwaites on streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced type 2 diabetic rats显示文摘Objective:To investigate antidiabetic potential of alcoholic leaves extract of Alangium lamarekii (A.lamarckii) on streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced type 2 diabetic rats.Methods:Oral glucose tolerance test was done by inducing hyperglycemic state via administration of glucose in water(2 g/kg).Single dose of alcoholic leaves extract of.4.lamarckii(250 and 500 mg/kg,p.o.) were administered to normoglycemic,hyperglycemic rats.Type 2 diabetes was induced by single intraperitoneal injection of nicotinamide(110 mg/kg) followed by streptozotocin(65 mg/kg).The study also included estimations of blood plasma glucose,lipid profile,liver glycogen,body weight and antioxidant status in normal and diabetic rats.Results:Admistration of alcoholic extract of A.lamarekii at two dosage 250 and 500 rag/kg,p.o.did not showed any significant change in blood glucose level of normoglycemic rats(P>0.05).whereas,oral glucose tolerance test depicted reduction in blood glucose level(P<0.05).The streptozotocin-nicotinamide induced diabetic rats, significantly decreased the blood plasma glucose level(P<0.001) comparable to glibenclamide (10 mg/kg),restored the lipid profile and showed improvement in liver glycogen,body weight and antioxidant status in diabetic rats.Conclusions:Present finding demonstrated the significant antidiabetic activity of alcoholic leaves extract of.4.lamarekii.Rajesh Kumar Dinesh Kumar Pate Satyendra Kuldip Prasad Kirshnamurthy Sairam Siva Hemalatha 2011Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2011,4,11:8
3Evaluation of phytochemical and antioxidant activities of the different fractions of Hybanthus enneaspermus (Linn.) F.Muell. (Violaceae).显示文摘Objective:To investigate the naturally occurring antioxidant for the first time from the different solvent fractions of Hybanthus enneaspermus(H.enneaspermus) Linn F.Muell.family(Violaceae). Methods:Different fractions of H.enneaspermus were tested for total phenolic content,and in vitro antioxidant activity was measured by total antioxidant assay,DPPH assay,reducing power, nitric oxide(NO),hydrogen peroxide(H2O2) scavenging assays.Results:The ethyl acetate(EA) fraction was found to have high levels of phenolic content[(212.15±0.79) mg GAE/g].The EA fraction exhibited higher total antioxidant capacity,higher percentage of DPPH radical scavenging activity[(127.07±2.29) Fg/mL],nitric oxide[(245.16±1.44)μg/mLJ,hydrogen peroxide[(227.38±7.18)μg/mL],deoxyribose[(270.61±8.72)μg/mL]and higher reducing power.There was a significant correlation between total phenolic content and total antioxidant activity(r =0.972). 4Antitumor activity and antioxident role of Bauhinia racemosa against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma in Swiss albino mice显示文摘AIM: To study the antitumor effect and antioxidant role of Bauhinia racemosa. METHODS: Antitumor activity and antioxidant status of methanol extract (50, 100, and 200 mg/kg) of Bauhinia racemosa stem bark was evaluated against Ehrlich ascites carcinoma (EAC) tumor in mice. Acute and short-term toxicity studies were performed initially in order to ascertain the safety of methanol extract of Bauhinia racemosa (MEBR). After 24 h of tumor inoculation, the extract was administered daily for 14 d. After administration of the last dose followed by 18 h fasting, mice were then sacrificed for observation of antitumor activity. The effect of MEBR on the growth of transplantable murine tumor, life span of EAC bearing hosts and simultaneous alterations in the hematological profile and liver biochemical parameters (lipid peroxidation, antioxidant enzymes) were estimated. RESULTS: The MEBR showed decrease in tumor volume, packed cell volume and viable cell count, and increased the nonviable cell count and mean survival time thereby increasing life span of EAC tumor bearing mice. Hematological profile reverted to more or less normal levels in extract treated mice. Treatment with MEBR decreased the levels of lipid peroxidation and increased the levels of glutathione, superoxide dismutase and catalase. 5Inhibitory effect of two Indian medicinal plants on aldose reductase of rat lens in vitro显示文摘Objective:To assesse the inhibitor) effect of alcoholic extract of two Indian medicinal plants namely Ceasalpinia digyna Rottler and.Alangium lamarckii Thwaits on aldose reductase(AR) of rat lens.Methods:Rats lens were enucleated through posterior approach and their homogenate was prepared and centrifuged to obtain a clear supernatant for the determination of AR activity and protein content.Results:The alcoholic extract of Ceasalpirda digyna and Alangium lamarckii had a potent inhibitory effect on the lens AR enzyme.The IC50 values of alcoholic extract of the selected plants were calculated and were(46.29±11.17) and(106.00±5.11)μg/mL,respectively. 7吸入型糖皮质激素用于哮喘患者的效果研究显示文摘目的借助于哮喘控制测试(ACT),论证使用吸入型糖皮质激素作为控制哮喘患者病情的临床疗效,与未使用任何药物控制哮喘症状或疾病发作的患者进行数据比较。方法在2012年7月,总共60名哮喘患者被要求做ACT问卷,其中32名患者作为对照组(n=32)未使用任何控制药物;28名患者作为观察组(n=28)使用吸入型糖皮质激素;并对两组的ACT结果进行了比较。结果所有患者都进行了ACT,并得到了相应的ACT分值。在对照组中,所有男性(n=13)患者的哮喘病情都控制不佳,19名女性中只有2名(10.53%)患者的病情得到了轻微的控制,其余的17名女性患者(89.47%)哮喘病情都控制不佳。在观察组中,男性患者(n=13)有6名(46.15%)患者哮喘病情未得到控制,女性患者(n=15)中,只有3名(20%)患者哮喘病情未得到控制。总体来说,ACT分值高于19的情况下,11名(39.29%)患者的哮喘得到了良好控制。结论使用吸入型糖皮质激素的哮喘控制物,例如倍氯米松和去炎松在维持哮喘的良好控制方面取得较好结果 ,ACT分值结果展示了这一点。使用吸入型糖皮质激素与未使用任何控制物相比,ACT分值得到了显著改变。Bhanu Siva Kumar Sileveru Dinesh Babu Abbadasari Neelesh Taticherala 冯宇峰 2013中国实用医药2013,8,29:3
8Pedalium murex Linn.:An overview of its phytopharmacological aspects显示文摘Pedalium murex Linn(family:Pedaliaceae)(P.murex) commonly known as Large Caltrops and Gokhru(India) is a shrub found in the Southern part.Deccan region of India and in some parts of Ceylon.Different parts of the plant are used to treat various ailments like,cough,cold and as an antiseptic.Interestingly.P.murex is reported traditionally to have an excellent cure in patients with reproductive disorders which are mainly impotency in men.nocturnal emissions,gonorrhoea as well as leucorrhoea in women.The plant has also benifiled in complications like urinary track disorder as well as gastro intestinal tract disorders.Phytochemically the plant is popular for the presence of a considerable amount of diosgenin and vanillin which are regarded as an important source and useful starting materials for synthesizing steroidal contraceptive drugs and isatin alkaloids.Other phytochemicals reported in the plant includes quercetin.ursolic acid,caffeic acid,amino acids(glycine,histidine,tyrosine,threonine,aspartie acid and glutamic acid) and various classes of fatty acids(triacontanoic acid,nonacosane.tritriacontane.tetratriacontanyl and heptatriacontan-4-one).Pharmacologically,the plant have been investigated for antiulcerogenic. nephroprotective.hypolipidemic,aphrodisiac,antioxidant,antimicrobial and insecticidal activities.From all these reports it can be concluded that the plant were found to have a better profile with potential natural source for the treatment of various range of either acute or chronic disease.The overall database of our review article was collected from the scientific sources in regards with all the information ol the research article for P.murex published so far.Dinesh Kumar Patel Damiki Laloo Rajesh Kumar Siva Hemalatha 2011Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine2011,4,9:3
9Improving Performance of a Distributed File System Using a Speculative Semantics-Based Algorithm显示文摘File-sharing semantics is used by the file systems for sharing data among concurrent client processes in a consistent manner. Session semantics is a widely used file-sharing semantics in Distributed File Systems(DFSs). The main disadvantage of session semantics is that writes to an open file are visible to the concurrent client processes only during their next session. Recently, 'linearizability semantics' was introduced in Blob Seer DFS, in which a Read Client Process(RCP) can read only a previous version of a binary large object(blob), while update operations are carried out on that blob in a concurrent manner. In this paper, we propose a new type of file-sharing semantics, namely 'speculative semantics', which permits writes to an open file to be visible to other concurrent processes provided that data consistency is not affected. In addition, we propose a new read algorithm for DFSs based on speculative semantics and a new performance measurement metric called Currency.
