2Psychophysiological Effects of Bamboo Plants on Adults显示文摘The present study was conducted to clarify the psychophysiological relaxation effects of viewing bamboo on university students. Forty healthy Chinese participants enrolled in this study to clarify the psychophysiological relaxation effects of viewing bamboo. The effects of visual stimulation using a pot both with and without a bamboo were recorded by measuring the student's blood pressure, EEG and STAI. We observed that viewing bamboo plants resulted in significantly lower systolic(female, P < 0.001; male, P < 0.001; P < 0.05) and diastolic(female,P < 0.001; male, P < 0.001; P < 0.05) blood pressures, but no changes in the pulse rate(female, P = 0.09; male, P = 0.07; P > 0.05) were observed. The results of the EEG analysis indicated brainwave variation(all P < 0.05) and lower anxiety scores(P < 0.01) after 3 min of viewing bamboo compared with the control. 4MIMO SAR Waveform Separation Based on Costas-LFM Signal and Co-arrays for Maritime Surveillance显示文摘In case of bright targets over a dark background, the cross-correlation noise of Multiple input and multiple output(MIMO) Synthetic aperture radar(SAR) orthogonal waveforms in the same frequency coverage will increase which can degrade the image. An Interpulse Costas hopping and intra-pulse Slope coded linearly frequency modulated(IPC-SCLFM) waveform is designed and analyzed to decrease the autocorrelation and cross-correlation noise. Besides a novel acquisition mode of 'MIMO Coprime SAR'(MIMO-Cop SAR) is proposed with Coprime arrays(Co-arrays) in receive across the SAR line of flight based on digital beamforming. An improved processing by multiplying values at each pixel of two coarrays images is proposed to suppress the cross-correlation noise. MIMO-Cop SAR can effectively suppress the crosscorrelation noise, reduce the amount of data to be stored and get high signal-to-noise ratio in a simple way. 5Efficacy of autologous bone marrow mononuclear cell transplantation therapy in patients with refractory diabetic peripheral neuropathy显示文摘Background:Owing to the multifactorial nature of the pathogenesis of diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN),conventional drug therapies have not been effective.The application of stem cells transplantation may be useful for the treatment of DPN.This study was designed to assess the safety and therapeutic effects of autologous bone marrow mononuclear cells (BMMNCs) transplantation on the treatment of refractory DPN.Methods:One hundred and sixty-eight patients with refractory DPN were recruited and enrolled in the study.They received intramuscular injection of BMMNCs and followed at 1,3,6,12,18,24,and 36 months after the transplantation.Clinical data,Toronto Clinical Scoring System (TCSS),and nerve conduction studies (NCSs) were compared before and after the transplantation.Results:The signs and symptoms of neuropathy were significantly improved after BMMNCs transplantation.The values of the TCSS scores at 1 month (9.68 ± 2.49 vs.12.55 ± 2.19,P<0.001) and 3 months (8.47 ± 2.39 vs.12.55 ± 2.19,P<0.001) after the treatment reduced significantly compared with the baseline value.This decrement remained persistent until the end of the study.The conduction velocity and action potential and sensory nerves were significantly improved after transplantation (3 and 12 months after the treatment vs.the baseline:motor nerve conduction velocity,40.24 ± 2.80 and 41.00 ± 2.22 m/s vs.38.21 ± 2.28 m/s,P<0.001;sensory nerve conduction velocity,36.96 ± 2.26 and 39.15 ± 2.61 m/s vs.40.41 ± 2.22 m/s,P<0.001;compound muscle action potential,4.67 ± 1.05 and 5.50 ± 1.20 μV vs.5.68 ± 1.08 μV,P<0.001;sensory nerve action potential,4.29 ± 0.99 and 5.14 ± 1.26 μV vs.5.41 ± 1.14 μV,P<0.001).No adverse event associated with the treatment was observed during the follow-up period.Conclusions:Autologous transplantation of BMMNCs may be an effective and promising therapeutic strategy for the treatment of refractory DPN.Hong Mao Wei Wei Xiu-Li Fu Jing-Jian Dong Xiao-Yu Lyu Ting Jia Yang Tang Shi Zhao 2019Chinese Medical Journal2019,,1:5
6The Incoming Influenza Season—China,the United Kingdom,and the United States,2021–2022显示文摘Introduction:Seasonal influenza activity has declined globally since the widespread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)transmission.There has been scarce information to understand the future dynamics of influenza—and under different hypothesis on relaxation of nonpharmaceutical interventions(NPIs)in particular—after the disruptions to seasonal patterns.Methods:We collected data from public sources in China,the United Kingdom,and the United States,and forecasted the influenza dynamics in the incoming 2021–2022 season under different NPIs.We considered Northern China and Southern China separately,due to the sharp difference in the patterns of seasonal influenza.For the United Kingdom,data were collected for England only.Results:Compared to the epidemics in 2017–2019,longer and blunter influenza outbreaks could occur should NPIs be fully lifted,with percent positivity varying from 10.5 to 18.6 in the studying regions.The rebounds would be smaller if the maskwearing intervention continued or the international mobility stayed low,but sharper if the mask-wearing intervention was lifted in the middle of influenza season.Further,influenza activity could stay low under a much less stringent mask-wearing intervention coordinated with influenza vaccination.Conclusions:The results added to our understandings of future influenza dynamics after the global decline during the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic.In light of the uncertainty on the incoming circulation strains and the relatively low negative impacts of mask wearing on society,our findings suggested that wearing mask could be considered as an accompanying mitigation measure in influenza prevention and control,especially for seasons after long periods of low-exposure to influenza viruses.Seasonal influenza activity declines globally during the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic(1–4).For instance,in China,influenza activity,as measured by percentage of submitted specimens testing positive,dropped from 11.8%to 2.0%in 2020–2021 influenza season,compared to the past 5 years(5).The long-period of low-exposure to influenza viruses adds great uncertainty on preparedness for the incoming 2021–2022 influenza season.Influenza vaccination is one of the most effective measures in seasonal influenza prevention and control,but with only a few influenza viruses circulating,it could be difficult to determine the targeted strains for vaccination.In this context,it is of primary importance to identify alternative mitigation measures for the incoming 2021–2022 influenza season,the first season after long periods of virtually no influenza outbreaks worldwide.Using data from China,the United Kingdom,and the United States,we forecasted the influenza activity in the incoming 2021–2022 influenza season under hypothetical scenarios without non-pharmaceutical interventions(NPIs)and with different assumptions on mask-wearing and mobility levels.Shasha Han Ting Zhang Yan Lyu Shengjie Lai Peixi Dai Jiandong Zheng Weizhong Yang Xiaohua Zhou Luzhao Feng 2021China CDC weekly2021,3,49:3
7Ethyl Acetate Fraction of Dicliptera chinensis(L.)Juss.Ameliorates Liver Fibrosis by Inducing Autophagy via PI3K/AKT/m TOR/p70S6K Signaling Pathways显示文摘Objective:To investigate the molecular mechanism underlying the anti-hepatic fibrosis activity of ethyl acetate fraction Dicliptera chinensis(L.)Juss.(EDC)in human hepatic stellate cells(HSCs)in vitro and in a carbon tetrachloride(CCl4)-induced hepatic fibrosis mouse model in vivo.Methods:For in vitro study,HSCs were pre-treated with platelet-derived growth factor(10 ng/mL)for 2 h to ensure activation and treated with EDC for 24 h and 48 h,respectively.The effect of EDC on HSCs was assessed using cell counting kit-8 assay,EdU staining,transmission electron microscopy,immunofluorescence staining,and Western blot,respectively.For in vivo experiments,mice were intraperitoneally injected with CCl4(2μL/g,adjusted to a 25%concentration in olive oil),3 times per week for 6 weeks,to develop a hepatic fibrosis model.Forty 8-week-old male C57 BL/6 mice were divided into 4 groups using a random number table(n=10),including control,model,positive control and EDC treatment groups.Mice in the EDC and colchicine groups were intragastrically administered EDC(0.5 g/kg)or colchicine(0.2 mg/kg)once per day for 6 weeks.Mice in the control and model groups received an equal volume of saline.Biochemical assays and histological examinations were used to assess liver damage.Protein expression levels ofα-smooth muscle actin(α-SMA)and microtubule-associated protein light chain 3 B(LC3 B)were measured by Western blot.Results:EDC reduced pathological damage associated with liver fibrosis,downregulated the expression ofα-SMA and upregulated the expression of LC3 B(P<0.05),both in HSCs and the CCl4-induced liver fibrosis mouse model.The intervention of bafilomycin A1 and rapamycin in HSCs strongly supported the notion that inhibition of autophagy enhancedα-SMA protein expression levels(P<0.01).The results also found that the levels of phosphoinositide(PI3 K),p-PI3 K,AKT,p-AKT,mammalian target of rapamycin(mTOR),p-mTOR,and p-p70 S6 K all decreased after EDC treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion:EDC has anti-hepatic fibrosis activity by inducing autophagy and might be a potential drug to be further developed for human liver fibrosis therapy.LIU Yuan BI Yan-meng PAN Ting ZENG Ting MO Chan SUN Bing GAO Lei LYU Zhi-ping 2022Chinese Journal of Integrative Medicine2022,28,1:3

10Efficacy and safety of high-dose esomeprazole–amoxicillin dual therapy for Helicobacter pylori rescue treatment:a multicenter,prospective,randomized,controlled trial显示文摘Background:High-dose dual therapy(HDDT)with proton pump inhibitors(PPIs)and amoxicillin has attracted widespread attention due to its favorable efficacy in eradicating Helicobacter pylori(H.pylori).This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of high-dose PPI-amoxicillin dual therapy and bismuth-containing quadruple therapy for H.pylori rescue treatment.Methods:This was a prospective,randomized,multicenter,non-inferiority trial.Patients recruited from eight centers who had failed previous treatment were randomly(1:1)allocated to two eradication groups:HDDT(esomeprazole 40 mg and amoxicillin 1000 mg three times daily;theHDDTgroup)and bismuth-containing quadruple therapy(esomeprazole 40 mg,bismuth potassium citrate 220 mg,and furazolidone 100 mg twice daily,combined with tetracycline 500 mg three times daily;the tetracycline,furazolidone,esomeprazole,and bismuth[TFEB]group)for 14 days.The primary endpoint was the H.pylori eradication rate.The secondary endpoints were adverse effects,symptom improvement rates,and patient compliance.Results:A total of 658 patients who met the criteria were enrolled in this study.The HDDT group achieved eradication rates of 75.4%(248/329),81.0%(248/306),and 81.3%(248/305)asdetermined by the intention-to-treat(ITT),modified intention-totreat(MITT),and per-protocol(PP)analyses,respectively.The eradication rates were similar to those in the TFEB group:78.1%(257/329),84.2%(257/305),and 85.1%(257/302).The lower 95%confidence interval boundary(9.19%in the ITT analysis,9.21%in the MITT analysis,and9.73%in the PP analysis)was greater than the predefined non-inferiority margin of10%,establishing a non-inferiority of the HDDT group vs.the TFEB group.The incidence of adverse events in the HDDT group was significantly lower than that in the TFEB group(11.1%vs.26.8%,P<0.001).Symptom improvement rates and patients’compliance were similar between the two groups.Conclusions:Fourteen-day HDDT is non-inferior to bismuth-containing quadruple therapy,with fewer adverse effects and good treatment compliance,suggesting HDDT as an alternative for H.pylori rescue treatment in the local region.Trial registration:Clinicaltrials.gov,NCT04678492.Hanxin Bi Xingxing Chen Yuxin Chen Xin Zhao Shasha Wang Jiehong Wang Ting Lyu Shuang Han Tao Lin Mingquan Li Donghong Yuan Junye Liu Yongquan Shi 2022Chinese Medical Journal2022,,14:3
11Association between PTCH1 gene polymorphisms and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease susceptibility in a Chinese Han population:a case-control study显示文摘Background:Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide.Genome-wide association studies in non-Asian population revealed a link between COPD and mutations in the PTCH1 gene encoding Patched1,a receptor in the Hedgehog signaling pathway important for lung morphogenesis and pulmonary function.The aim of this study was to investigate the association between PTCH1 polymorphisms and the COPD risk in the Chinese Han population.Methods:We performed a case-control study including 296 patients with COPD and 300 healthy individuals.Single-nucleotide polymorphisms in the PTCH1 gene were identified and genotyped based on the linkage disequilibrium analysis in all participants.Odds ratios(ORs)and 95%confidence intervals(95%CIs)were estimated using logistic regression analysis after adjustment for age,gender,and smoking.Results:In total,28 single-nucleotide polymorphisms were identified in patients with COPD.Among them,'A'allele of rs28491365(OR:1.388,95%CI:1.055-1.827,P=0.018),and'G'alleles of rs10512248(OR:1.299,95%CI:1.021-1.653,P=0.033)and rs28705285(OR:1.359,95%CI:1.024-1.803,P=0.033;respectively)were significantly associated with an increased COPD risk.Genetic model analysis revealed that the'T/T'genotype of rs34695652 was associated with a decreased COPD risk under the recessive model(OR:0.490,95%CI:0.270-0.880,P=0.010),whereas rs28504650/rs10512248 haplotype CG was significantly associated with an increased COPD risk after adjustment for age,gender,and smoking status(OR:6.364,95%CI:1.220-33.292,P=0.028).Conclusions:The study provides a new insight into the role of PTCH1 polymorphisms in the susceptibility to COPD in the Chinese Han population.Xi Kang Ting Guo Lyu Liu Shui-Zi Ding Cheng Lei Hong Luo 2020Chinese Medical Journal2020,,17:3
12Direct ink writing of programmable functional silicone-based composites for 4D printing applications显示文摘Polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)has been widely used in flexible electronics,soft robotics,and bioelectronics.However,the fabrication of PDMS-based devices has mostly relied on conventional approaches,such as casting and molding,thereby limiting their potential.Here we fabricate PDMS-based composites with programmable microstructures by direct ink writing and realize their practical functionalities of four-dimensional(4D)printing.The mechanical,thermomechanical and magnetic properties of the three-dimensional-printed composites can be well tailored by using carbon,metal,or ceramic functional fillers.By taking advantage of the printable,flexible,and magnetic PDMS composites,we demonstrate new practical functionalities of 4D printing by designing programmable architectures,including magnetic-field-driven battery cases and patchworks,as well as arbitrary morphing ceramic structures.In particular,4D-printed batteries are constructed by PDMS-based battery cases for the first time,which can be actuated via external magnetic field.This study broadens the paradigm of 4D printing for prospective applications,such as implant batteries,biomimetic engineering,and customized biomedical devices.Zhiyang Lyu J.ustin Koh Gwendolyn J.H.Lim Danwei Zhang Ting Xiong Lei Zhang Siqi Liu Junfei Duan Jun Ding John Wang Jinlan Wang Yunfei Chen Chaobin He 2022Interdisciplinary Materials2022,1,4:2

14Safety of butylphthalide and edaravone in patients with ischemic stroke:a multicenter real-world study显示文摘BACKGROUND Butylphthalide(NBP)and edaravone(EDV)injection are common acute ischemic stroke medications in China,but there is a lack of large real-world safety studies on them.This study aimed to determine the incidence of adverse events,detect relevant safety signals,and assess the risk factors associated with these medications in real-world populations.METHODS In this study,data of acute ischemic stroke patients were extracted from the electronic medical record database of six tertiary hospitals between January 2019 and August 2021.Baseline confounders were eliminated using propensity score matching.The drugs’safety was estimated by comparing the results of 24 laboratory tests standards on liver function,kidney function,lipid level,and coagulation function.The drugs’relative risk was estimated by logistic regression.A third group with patients who did not receive NBP or EDV was constructed as a reference.Prescription sequence symmetry analysis was used to evaluate the associations between adverse events and NBP and EDV,respectively.RESULTS 81,292 patients were included in this study.After propensity score matching,the NBP,EDV,and third groups with 727patients in each group.Among the 15 test items,the incidence of adverse events was lower in the NBP group than in the EDV group,and the differences were statistically significant.The multivariate logistic regression equation revealed that NBP injection was not a promoting factor for abnormal laboratory test results,whereas EDV had statistically significant effects on aspartate transaminase,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and total cholesterol.Prescription sequence symmetry analysis showed that NBP had a weak correlation with abnormal platelet count.EDV had a positive signal associated with abnormal results in gamma-glutamyl transferase,alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,prothrombin time,and platelet count.CONCLUSIONS In a large real-world population,NBP has a lower incidence of adverse events and a better safety profile than EDV or other usual medications.Shu-Xian LYU Dong-Fang QIAN Yu-Fei FENG Cheng-Wu SHEN Lu-Bo GUO Jian-Tao LYU Peng-Fei JIN Ting LI Si-Yuan TAN Zi-Xuan ZHANG Lin HUANG Xue ZHONG Le-Qun SU Xin HU Xin HUANG Xue-Yan CUI 2023Journal of Geriatric Cardiology2023,20,4:1
15Tunable light emission from carbon dots by controlling surface defects显示文摘Carbon dots(CDs)are metal-free fluorescent materials that can be used in optical and electronic devices,but few studies have focused on one-step synthesis routes for CDs with tunable color and high photoluminescence quantum yield(PLQY).Herein,CDs with tunable light emission were synthesized using a novel amide-assisted solvothermal approach.The as-prepared CDs were well dispersed and homogeneous,with average diameters of approximately 2.0–4.0 nm,depending on the dopants.Owing to the surface states with different ratios of nitrogen-and oxygen-related species,different CDs can exhibit blue,green,red,or white emission with relatively high PLQYs of 61.6%,41.3%,29.1%and 19.7%,respectively.XPS measurements,in conjunction with DFT calculations,indicate that nitrogen substitution(pyridinic/pyrrolic nitrogen)dominates the blue emission,while introducing oxygen functional groups lowered the LUMO energy level,which resulted in redder emission.In addition,the CDs are demonstrated as a bioimaging probe in both in vitro and in vivo assays,and the white light CDs have been demonstrated to be potential fluorescent materials for white-light-emitting diode(WLED).Huijun Li Sancan Han Bowen Lyu Ting Hong Shibo Zhi Ling Xu Fengfeng Xue Liman Sai Junhe Yang Xianying Wang Bin He 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,9:1
16Controlled synthesis of cobalt nanocrystals on the carbon spheres for enhancing Fischer–Tropsch synthesis performance显示文摘Non-porous carbon sphere was used as support to synthesize supported cobalt Fischer-Tropsch catalysts with high activity and durability. Strong metal-support interaction was avoided and intrinsic activity of pristine cobalt nano-particles was studied. Thermal decomposition synthesis method was applied to obtain cobalt catalysts with high dispersion and narrow particle size distribution. Furthermore the cobalt size can be controlled by the molar ratio of o-dichlorobenzene/benzylamine. 17Extreme characteristics and causes of the drought event in the whole Yangtze River Basin in the midsummer of 2022显示文摘Due to their huge socio-economic impacts and complex formation causes,extreme and continuous drought events have become the focus and nodus of research in recent years.In the midsummer(July-August)of 2022,a severe drought event occurred in the whole Yangtze River Basin(YRB),China.During that period,the precipitation in the upper,middle and lower reaches of the YRB dropped over 40%less than the 1961-2021 climatic mean,which had never happened previously.Furthermore,the temperature was the highest during 1961-2022.The record-breaking magnitude of less rainfall and high temperature directly led to the continuous development of this extreme drought event.An atmospheric moisture budget analysis revealed that the YRB midsummer rainfall anomaly was dominated by the anomalous powerful vertical moisture advection,which was derived from the strongest descending motion over the whole YRB in the 2022 midsummer during 1981-2022.The western Pacific subtropical high(WPSH)during the midsummer remained stronger,more westward and lasted longer than the climatic mean.As a result,the whole YRB was controlled by a positive geopotential height centre.Further evidence revealed that the anomalous subtropical zonal flow played a crucial role in inducing the extreme descent over the YRB.Moreover,the anomalous upper-tropospheric easterly flow over the YRB in 2022 is the strongest during 1981-2022,modulating the generation of the unprecedented descent anomaly over the YRB.The likelihood that an integrated connection of severe drought in East Asia and flood in West Asia and northwestern South Asia would increase when the extremely strong easterly anomalies in the upper troposphere emerged and induced descending adiabatic flow on the eastern sides of the Tibetan Plateau.The results of this study can provide scientific insights into the predictability of extreme drought events and provide ways to improve predictions.Zhuo-Zhuo LYU Hui GAO Rong GAO Ting DING 2023Advances in Climate Change Research2023,14,5:0
18A sleep staging model for the sleep environment control based on machine learning显示文摘To date,dynamic sleep environment has been attracted the focus of researchers.Owing to the individual difference on sleep phase and thermal comfort,changes in sleep environment should be occupant-centered,and precise regulation of the environment required current sleep stages.However,few studies connected occupants and the environment through physiological signal-based model of sleep staging.Therefore,this study tried to develop a data driven sleep staging model with higher accuracy through sleep experiments collecting information.Raw database was processed and selected efficiently according to the characteristics of physiological signals.Finally,the sleep staging model with an average accuracy of 93.9%was built,and other mean indicators(precision:82.5%,recall:83.1%,F1 score:82.8%)performed well.The features adopted by model were found to come from different brain regions,and the global brain signals were suggested to play an important role in the construction of sleep staging model.Moreover,the computational processing of physiology signals should consider their characteristics,i.e.,time domain,frequency domain,time-frequency domain and nonlinear characteristics.The model obtained in this study may deliver a credible reference to advance the research on control of sleep environment.Ting Cao Zhiwei Lian Heng Du Jingyun Shen Yilun Fan Junmeng Lyu 2023Building Simulation2023,16,8:0
19A Geometry-Based Stochastic Scattering Channel Model for V2V Communications in Dense Urban Street Environments显示文摘In this paper,we propose a stochastic channel model in three-dimensional(3D)space for multiple input multiple output(MIMO)vehicle-to-vehicle(V2V)communications in dense urban environments.The movement of the mobile transmitter and mobile receiver results in the V2V channel model behave temporal non-stationarity.Therefore,the time-varying parameters of the propagation paths and angles are derived to characterize such property.Using this channel model,we investigate the propagation characteristics of V2V channels in terms of the road section and moving time/directions/speeds of the transmitter and receiver.Numerical results show that the theoretical results of the propagation characteristics of the V2V channel model are very close to those of the simulation ones,which show that the proposed channel model is suitable for depicting the V2V communications in dense urban scenarios.Jie Zhou Zhikang Lyu Sujie Wu Hong Luo Ting Liu Genfu Shao Shigenobu Sasaki 2022China Communications2022,19,11:0
20Architecture Design of Protocol Controller Based on Traffic-Driven Software Defined Interconnection显示文摘To solve the problems of redundant logic resources and poor scalability in protocol controller circuits among communication networks,we propose a traffic-driven software defined interconnection(TSDI)mechanism.The unified software defined interconnection interface standards and the normalized interconnection topology are designed to implement the architecture of TSDI-based protocol controller.The key indicators of power,performance and area(PPA)can be realized while resolving the flexible interconnection of the controller.We designed a TSDI-based RapidIO controller as an example.Compared to traditional designs,the design could achieve more protocol scalability,and RapidIO protocol standards of Gen4 could be supported directly.The key PPA indicators,such as a lower delay of 56.1 ns and more than twice throughput of 98.1 Gbps,were achieved at the cost of a 23.4%area increase.Peijie LI Jianliang SHEN Ping LYU Chunlei DONG Ting CHEN 2024Chinese Journal of Electronics2024,33,2:0
