1Prognostic factors and time-related changes influence results of colorectal liver metastases surgical treatment:A single-center analysis显示文摘AIM:To analyze the prognostic factors involved in survival and cancer recurrence in patients undergoing surgical treatment for colorectal liver metastases(CLM) and to describe the effects of time-related changes on survival and recurrence in these patients.METHODS:From January 1994 to January 2006,236 patients with CLM underwent surgery with the aim of performing curative resection of neoplastic disease at our institution and 189(80%) of these patients underwent resection of CLM with curative intention.Preoperative, intraoperative and postoperative data, including primary tumor and CLM pathology results, were retrospectively reviewed.Patients were divided into two time periods:a first period from January 1994 to January 2000(n = 93),and a second period from February 2000 to January 2006(n = 143).RESULTS:Global survival at 1,3 and 5 years in patients undergoing hepatic resection was 91%,54% and 47%,respectively.Patients with preoperative extrahepatic disease, carcinoembryonic antigen(CEA) levels over 20 ng/dL,more than four nodules or extrahepatic invasion at pathological analysis had worse survival.Tumor recurrence rate at 1 year was 48.3%,being more frequent in patients with preoperative and pathological extrahepatic disease and CEA levels over 20 ng/dL.Although patients in the second time period had more adverse prognostic factors,no differences in overall survival and recurrence were observed between the two periods.CONCLUSION:Despite advances in surgical technique and better adjuvant treatments and preoperative imaging, careful patient staging and selection is crucial to continue offering a chance of cure to patients with CLM.Josep Martí María Marta Modolo Josep Fuster Jaume Comas Rebeca Cosa Joana Ferrer Victor Molina Juan Romero Constantino Fondevila Ramón Charco Juan Carlos García-Valdecasas 2009World Journal of Gastroenterology2009,15,21:9
2Reduction of NO by CO using Pd–CeTb and Pd–CeZr catalysts supported on SiO_2 and La_2O_3–Al_2O_3显示文摘The catalytic activity of Pd catalysts supported on Ce0.73Tb0.27 O x/Si O2, Ce0.6Zr0.4O x/Si O2,Ce0.73Tb0.27 O x/La2O3–Al2O3and Ce0.6Zr0.4O x/La2O3–Al2O3was studied using the reduction of NO by CO. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray fluorescence, surface area, X-ray diffraction, temperature-programmed reduction, CO chemisorption and oxygen storage capacity. Temperature-programmed reduction results indicated that Tb or Zr incorporation improves the reducibility and oxygen storage capacity. CO chemisorption data suggested the presence of large Pd O particles due to the low CO/Pd ratio. No significant differences were obtained in light off temperatures(T Light off) for all Pd catalysts and the most active was1.5%Pd/Ce0.6Zr0.4O x/Si O2.Victor Ferrer Dora Finol Roger Solano Alexander Moronta Miguel Ramos 2015Journal of Environmental Sciences2015,27,1:7

5Ecto-GPR37:a potential biomarker for Parkinson’s disease显示文摘Objective:a-Synuclein has been studied as a potential biomarker for Parkinson's disease(PD)with no concluding results.Accordingly, there is an urgent need to find out reliable specific biomarkers for PD.GPR37 is an orphan G protein-coupled receptor that toxically accumulates in autosomal recessive juvenile parkinsonism. Here,we investigated whether GPR37 is upregulated in sporadic PD,and thus a suitable potential biomarker for PD.Methods:GPR37 protein density and mRNA expression in postmortem substantia nigra(SN)from PD patients were analysed by immunoblot and RT-qPCR,respectively.The presence of peptides from the N-terminus-cleaved domain of GPR37(i.e.ecto-GPR37)in human cerebrospinal fluid(CSF)was determined by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometric analysis. An engineered in-house nanoluciferase-based immunoassay was used to quantify ecto-GPR37 in CSF samples from neurological control(NC)subjects,PD patients and Alzheimer's disease(AD)patients.Results:GPR37 protein density and mRNA expression were significantly augmented in sporadic PD.Increased amounts of ecto-GPR37 peptides in the CSF samples from PD patients were identified by mass spectrometry and quantified by the in-house ELISA method. However, the CSF total a-synuclein level in PD patients did not differ from that in NC subjects.Similarly, the cortical GPR37 mRNA expression and CSF ecto-GPR37 levels in AD patients were also unaltered.Conclusion:GPR37 expression is increased in SN of sporadic PD patients. The ecto-GPR37 peptides are significantly increased in the CSF of PD patients, but not in AD patients. These results open perspectives and encourage further clinical studies to confirm the validity and utility of ecto-GPR37 as a potential PD biomarker.Xavier Morato Paula Garcia-Esparcia Josep Argerich Franc Llorens Inga Zerr Wojciech Paslawski Eva Borras Eduard Sabido Ulla EPetaja-Repo Victor Fernandez-Duenas Isidro Ferrer Per Svenningsson Francisco Ciruela 2021Translational Neurodegeneration2021,10,1:1
