1Developing the Science Product Algorithm Testbed for Chinese Next-Generation Geostationary Meteorological Satellites:Fengyun-4 Series显示文摘Fengyun-4A(FY-4A), the first of the Chinese next-generation geostationary meteorological satellites, launched in2016, offers several advances over the FY-2: more spectral bands, faster imaging, and infrared hyperspectral measurements. To support the major objective of developing the prototypes of FY-4 science algorithms, two science product algorithm testbeds for imagers and sounders have been developed by the scientists in the FY-4 Algorithm Working Group(AWG). Both testbeds, written in FORTRAN and C programming languages for Linux or UNIX systems, have been tested successfully by using Intel/g compilers. Some important FY-4 science products, including cloud mask, cloud properties, and temperature profiles, have been retrieved successfully through using a proxy imager, Himawari-8/Advanced Himawari Imager(AHI), and sounder data, obtained from the Atmospheric Infra Red Sounder, thus demonstrating their robustness. 3Sequence Diversity and Enzyme Activity of Ferric-Chelate Reductase LeFRO1 in Tomato显示文摘Ferric-chelate reductase which functions in the reduction of ferric to ferrous iron on root surface is a critical protein for iron homeostasis in strategy I plants.LeFRO1 is a major ferric-chelate reductase involved in iron uptake in tomato.To identify the natural variations of LeFRO1 and to assess their effect on the ferric-chelate reductase activity,we cloned the coding sequences of LeFRO1 from 16 tomato varieties collected from different regions,and detected three types of LeFRO1(LeFR01^(MM),LeFRO1^(Ailsa) and LeFRO1^(Monita)) with five amino acid variations at the positions 21,24,112,195 and 582.Enzyme activity assay revealed that the three types of LeFRO1 possessed different ferric-chelate reductase activity(LeFRO1^(Ailsa)>LeFRO1^(MM)>LeFRO1^(Monita)).The 112th amino acid residue Ala of LeFRO1 is critical for maintaining the high activity of ferric-chelate reductase,because modification of this amino acid resulted in a significant reduction of enzyme activity.Further,we showed that the combination of the amino acid residue Ile at the site 24 with Lys at the site 582 played a positive role in the enzyme activity of LeFRO1.In conclusion,the findings are helpful to understand the natural adaptation mechanisms of plants to iron-limiting stress,and may provide new knowledge to select and manipulate LeFRO1 for improving the iron deficiency tolerance in tomato.Danyu Kong Chunlin Chen Huilan Wu Ye Li Junming Li Hong-Qing Ling 2013Journal of Genetics and Genomics2013,40,11:2

5Unlocking the bacterial contact-dependent antibacterial activity to engineer a biocontrol alliance of two species from natural incompatibility to artificial compatibility显示文摘Plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria(PGPR)contain various biocontrol bacteria with broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity,and their single species has been extensively applied to control crop diseases.The development of complex biocontrol community by mixing two or more PGPR members together is a promising strategy to enlarge the efficacy and scope of biocontrol.However,an effective method to assess the natural compatibility of PGPR members has not yet been established to date.Here,we developed such a tool by using the bacterial contactdependent antibacterial activity(CDAA)as a probe.We showed that the CDAA events are common in two-species interactions in the four selected representative PGPRs,represented by the incompatible interaction of Lysobacter enzymogenes strain OH11(OH11)and Lysobacter antibioticus strain OH13(OH13).We further showed that the CDAA between OH11 and OH13 is jointly controlled by a contact-dependent killing device,called the type IV secretion system(T4SS).By deleting the respective T4SS synthesis genes,the T4SS in both strains was co-inactivated and this step unlocked their natural CDAA,resulting in an engineered,compatible mutant alliance that co-displayed antibacterial and antifungal activity.Therefore,this study reveals that releasing bacterial CDAA is effective to rationally engineer the biocontrol community.Qianhua Wu Bozhen Wang Xi Shen Danyu Shen Bingxin Wang Qinggang Guo Tao Li Xiaolong Shao Guoliang Qian 2021Stress Biology2021,1,1:1

8Influence of equiatomic Zr/(Ti,Nb)substitution on microstructure and ultra-high strength of(Ti,Zr,Nb)C medium-entropy ceramics at 1900℃显示文摘High-temperature mechanical properties of medium-entropy carbide ceramics have attracted significant attention.Tailoring the microstructure is an effective way to improve these high-temperature mechanical properties,which can be affected by the evolution of the enthalpy and entropy,as well as by lattice distortion and sluggish diffusion.In this study,the effects of equiatomic Zr/(Ti,Nb)substitution(Zr content of 10-40 at%)on the microstructure and high-temperature strength of(Ti,Zr,Nb)C medium-entropy ceramics were investigated.The grain size of the(Ti,Zr,Nb)C medium-entropy ceramics was refined from 9.4±3.7 to 1.1±0.4μm with an increase in the Zr content from 10.0 to 33.3 at%.A further increase in the Zr content to 40 at%resulted in a slight increase in the grain size.At 1900℃,the(Ti,Zr,Nb)C medium-entropy ceramics with the Zr contents of 33.3 and 40 at%exhibited ultra-high flexural strengths of 875±43 and 843±71 MPa,respectively,which were higher than those of the transition metal carbides previously reported under similar conditions.Furthermore,relatively smooth grain boundaries,which were detected at a test temperature of 1000℃,transformed into curved and serrated boundaries as the temperature increased to 1900℃,which may be considered the primary reason for the improved high-temperature flexural strength.The associated mechanism was analyzed and discussed in detail.Qingqing YANG Xingang WANG Weichao BAO Ping WU Xiaofei WANG Xiaojie GUO Cheng ZHANG Guojun ZHANG Danyu JIANG 2022Journal of Advanced Ceramics2022,11,9:0
9Flotation separation of scheelite from calcite using luteolin as a novel depressant显示文摘This paper proposes luteolin(LUT)as a novel depressant for the flotation-based separation of scheelite and calcite in a sodium oleate(NaOL)system.The suitability of LUT as a calcite depressant is confirmed through micro-flotation testing.At pH=9,with LUT concentration of 50 mg·L^(-1) and NaOL concentration of 50 mg·L^(-1),scheelite recovery reaches 80.3%.Calcite,on the other hand,exhibits a recovery rate of 17.6%,indicating a significant difference in floatability between the two minerals.Subsequently,the surface modifica-tions of scheelite and calcite following LUT treatment are characterized using adsorption capacity testing,Zeta potential analysis,Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR),X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS),and atomic force microscopy(AFM).The study in-vestigates the selective depressant mechanism of LUT on calcite.Adsorption capacity testing and Zeta potential analysis demonstrate sub-stantial absorption of LUT on the surface of calcite,impeding the further adsorption of sodium oleate,while its impact on scheelite is min-imal.FT-IR and XPS analyses reveal the selective adsorption of LUT onto the surface of calcite,forming strong chemisorption bonds between the hydroxyl group and calcium ions present.AFM directly illustrates the distinct adsorption densities of LUT on the two miner-al types.Consequently,LUT can effectively serve as a depressant for calcite,enabling the successful separation of scheelite and calcite.Xiaokang Li Ying Zhang Haiyang He Yu Wu Danyu Wu Zhenhao Guan 2024International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2024,31,3:0
