| 1 | Surfactant induced reservoir wettability alteration:Recent theoretical and experimental advances in enhanced oil recovery显示文摘Reservoir wettability plays an important role in various oil recovery processes.The origin and evolution of reservoir wettability were critically reviewed to better understand the complexity of wettability due to interactions in crude oil-brine-rock system,with introduction of different wetting states and their influence on fluid distribution in pore spaces.The effect of wettability on oil recovery of waterflooding was then summarized from past and recent research to emphasize the importance of wettability in oil displacement by brine.The mechanism of wettability alteration by different surfactants in both carbonate and sandstone reservoirs was analyzed,concerning their distinct surface chemistry,and different interaction patterns of surfactants with components on rock surface.Other concerns such as the combined effect of wettability alteration and interfacial tension (IFT) reduction on the imbibition process was also taken into account.Generally,surfactant induced wettability alteration for enhanced oil recovery is still in the stage of laboratory investigation.The successful application of this technique relies on a comprehensive survey of target reservoir conditions,and could be expected especially in low permeability fractured reservoirs and forced imbibition process. | Wang Yefei XU Huaimin Yu Weizhao Bai Baojun Song Xinwang Zhang Jichao | 2011 | Petroleum Science2011,8,4: | 14 |
| 2 | Effects of closing and reopening live poultry markets on the epidemic of human infection with avian influenza A virus显示文摘Live poultry markets(LPMs) are crucial places for human infection of influenza A(H7N9 virus).In Yangtze River Delta,LPMs were closed after the outbreak of human infection with avian influenza A(H7N9) virus,and then reopened when no case was found.Our purpose was to quantify the effect of LPMs' operations in this region on the transmission of influenza A(H7N9) virus.We obtained information about dates of symptom onset and locations for all human influenza A(H7N9) cases reported from Shanghai,Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces by May 31,2014,and acquired dates of closures and reopening of LPMs from official media.A two-phase Bayesian model was fitted by Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods to process the spatial and temporal influence of human cases.A total of 235 cases of influenza A(H7N9) were confirmed in Shanghai,Jiangsu and Zhejiang by May 31,2014.Using these data,our analysis showed that,after LPM closures,the influenza A(H7N9) outbreak disappeared within two weeks in Shanghai,one week in Jiangsu,and one week in Zhejiang,respectively.Local authorities reopened LPMs when there was no outbreak of influenza A(H7N9),which did not lead to reemergence of human influenza A(H7N9).LPM closures were effective in controlling the H7N9 outbreak.Reopening of LPM in summer did not increase the risk of human infection with H7N9.Our findings showed that LPMs should be closed immediately in areas where the H7N9 virus is confirmed in LPM.When there is no outbreak of H7N9 virus,LPMs can be reopened to satisfy the Chinese traditional culture of buying live poultry.In the long term,local authorities should take a cautious attitude in permanent LPM closure. | Jian Lu Wendong Liu Rui Xia Qigang Dai Changjun Bao Fenyang Tang Yefei Zhu Qiao Wang | 2016 | The Journal of Biomedical Research2016,30,2: | 7 |
| 3 | Climate and extrema of ocean waves in the East China Sea显示文摘Wave climate plays an important role in the air-sea interaction over marginal seas. Extreme wave height provides fundamental information for various ocean engineering practices, such as hazard mitigation, coastal structure design, and risk assessment. In this paper, we implement a third generation wave model and conduct a high-resolution wave hindcast over the East China Sea to reconstruct a 15-year wave field from 1988 to 2002 for derivation of monthly mean wave parameters and analysis of extreme wave conditions. The numerical results of the wave field are validated through comparison with satellite altimetry measurements, low-resolution reanalysis, and the ocean wave buoy record. The monthly averaged wave height and wave period show seasonal variation and refined spatial patterns of surface waves in the East China Sea. The climatological significant wave height and mean wave period decrease from the open ocean in the southeast toward the continental area in the northwest, with the pattern generally following the bathymetry. Extreme analysis on the significant wave height at the buoy station indicates the hindcast data underestimate the extreme values relative to the observations. | 4 | Characteristics of strong motions and damage implications of M_s6.5 Ludian earthquake on August 3,2014显示文摘The Ludian County of Yunnan Province in southwestern China was struck by an MS6.5 earthquake on August 3, 2014, which was another destructive event following the MS8.0 Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, MS7.1 Yushu earthquake in 2010, and MS7.0 Lushan earthquake in 2013. National Strong-Motion Observation Network System of China collected 74 strong motion recordings,which the maximum peak ground acceleration recorded by the 053 LLT station in Longtoushan Town was 949 cm/s2 in E–W component. The observed PGAs and spectral ordinates were compared with ground-motion prediction equation in China and the NGA-West2 developed by Pacific Earthquake Engineering Researcher Center. This earthquake is considered as the first case for testing applicability of NGA-West2 in China. Results indicate that the observed PGAs and the 5 % damped pseudo-response spectral accelerations are significantly lower than the predicted ones. | 5 | A Streptococcus suis serotype 2 caused streptococcal toxic shock syndrome(STSS) in a patient显示文摘Streptococcus suis(S.suis)is a Gram-positive,facultatively anaerobic coccus that has been implicated as the cause of a wide range of clinical disease syndromes in swine and other domestic animals.S.suis has also been implicated in disease in humans,especially among abattoir workers,swine and pork handlers.Here we report a case of streptococcal toxic shock syndrome(STSS)caused by S.suis in a 59-year-old man.Despite of intensive treatment,the patient died of shock with multiple organ failure 14 h after admission.One bacterial isolate obtained from blood culture was identified to the species level by biochemical tests and serological tests as S.suis serotype 2.Identification was confirmed by PCR amplification of genes encoding 16sRNA of S.suis and the capsule of S.suis serotype 2(cps 2J).Genes encoding virulence factors were also detected.An investigation to identify the source of S.suis revealed that several days before admission the affected man had been handling sick pigs or their meat.Transmission may occur through breaks in the skin of feet with tinea due to that no measures for personal protection was taken.This case should highten awareness of the potential for occupational exposure and human infection with S.suis. | Yefei Zhu Zhongmin Tan Lingyang Zhu Hongxing Pan Xuejun Zhang Lei Xu Huimin Qian Ling Gu Xun Ye Chen Dong Changjun Bao Rongqiang Zhu Fengcai Zhu Hua Wang | 2008 | Journal of Nanjing Medical University2008,22,5: | 3 |

| 14 | Role of trace additions of Ca and Sn in improving the corrosion resistance of Mg-3Al-1Zn alloy显示文摘The limited wide applicability of commercial Mg alloys is mainly attributed to the poor corrosion resistance.Addition of alloying elements is the simplest and effective method to improve the corrosion properties.Based on the low-cost alloy composition design,the corro-sion behavior of commercial Mg-3Al-1Zn(AZ31)alloy bearing minor Ca or Sn element was characterized by scanning Kelvin probe force microscopy,hydrogen evolution,electrochemical measurements,and corrosion morphology analysis.Results revealed that the potential differ-ence of Al_(2)Ca/α-Mg and Mg_(2)Sn/α-Mg was(230±19)mV and(80±6)mV,respectively,much lower than that of Al_(8)Mn_(5)/α-Mg(430±31)mV in AZ31 alloy,which illustrated that AZ31-0.2Sn alloy performed the best corrosion resistance,followed by AZ31-0.2Ca,while AZ31 al-loy exhibited the worst corrosion resistance.Moreover,Sn dissolved into matrix obviously increased the potential ofα-Mg and participated in the formation of dense SnO_(2) film at the interface of matrix,while Ca element was enriched in the corrosion product layer,resulting in the cor-rosion product layer of AZ31-0.2Ca/Sn alloys more compact,stable,and protective than AZ31 alloy.Therefore,AZ31 alloy bearing 0.2wt%Ca or Sn element exhibited excellent balanced properties,which is potential to be applied in commercial more comprehensively. | Panpan Wang Haitao Jiang Yujiao Wang Yun Zhang Shiwei Tian Yefei Zhang Zhiming Cao | 2022 | International Journal of Minerals,Metallurgy and Materials2022,29,8: | 1 |

| 16 | Science with the 2.5-meter Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST)显示文摘The Wide Field Survey Telescope(WFST) is a dedicated photometric surveying facility being built jointly by University of Science and Technology of China(USTC) and the Purple Mountain Observatory(PMO). It is equipped with a 2.5-meter diameter primary mirror, an active optics system, and a mosaic CCD camera with 0.73 gigapixels on the primary focal plane for highquality image capture over a 6.5-square-degree field of view. The installation of WFST near the summit of Saishiteng mountain in the Lenghu region is scheduled in summer of 2023, and the operation is planned to start three months later. WFST will scan the northern sky in four optical bands(u, g, r and i) at cadences from hourly/daily in the deep high-cadence survey(DHS) program, to semi-weekly in the wide field survey(WFS) program. During a photometric night, a nominal 30 s exposure in the WFS program will reach a depth of 22.27, 23.32, 22.84, and 22.31(AB magnitudes) in these four bands, respectively, allowing for the detection of a tremendous amount of transients in the low-z universe and a systematic investigation of the variability of Galactic and extragalactic objects. In the DHS program, intranight 90 s exposures as deep as 23(u) and 24 mag(g), in combination with target of opportunity follow-ups, will provide a unique opportunity to explore energetic transients in demand for high sensitivities, including the electromagnetic counterparts of gravitational wave events, supernovae within a few hours of their explosions,tidal disruption events and fast, luminous optical transients even beyond redshift of unity. In addition, the final 6-year co-added images, anticipated to reach g■25.8 mag in WFS or 1.5 mags deeper in DHS, will be of fundamental importance to general Galactic and extragalactic science. The highly uniform legacy surveys of WFST will serve as an indispensable complement to those of the Vera C.
