1Adsorption of three pharmaceuticals on two magnetic ion-exchange resins显示文摘The presence of pharmaceuticals in aquatic environments poses potential risks to the ecology and human health. This study investigated the removal of three widely detected and abundant pharmaceuticals, namely, ibuprofen(IBU), diclofenac(DC), and sulfadiazine(SDZ), by two magnetic ion-exchange resins. The adsorption kinetics of the three adsorbates onto both resins was relatively fast and followed pseudo-second-order kinetics. Despite the different pore structures of the two resins, similar adsorption patterns of DC and SDZ were observed, implying the existence of an ion-exchange mechanism. IBU demonstrated a combination of interactions during the adsorption process. These interactions were dependent on the specific surface area and functional groups of the resin. The adsorption isotherm fittings verified the differences in the behavior of the three pharmaceuticals on the two magnetic ion-exchange resins. The presence of Cl-and SO2-4suppressed the adsorption amount, but with different inhibition levels for different adsorbates. 2High phosphate removal using La(OH)3 loaded chitosan based composites and mechanistic study显示文摘Our present study was to prepare a biomass-supported adsorbents with high adsorptive capacity and high selectivity to prevent the accelerated eutrophication in water body.To this end,different metal hydroxide(La,Zr and Fe)first was successfully loaded on chitosan microspheres.Then the quaternary ammonium group with different content was introduced into the adsorbent by polymerization.By comparison of adsorption properties,chitosanLa(OH)3-quaternary ammonium-20%(CS-La-N-20%)has strong adsorption to phosphate(160 mg/g)by immobilizing nano-sized La(OH)3 within a quaternary-aminated chitosan and it maintain high adsorption in the presence of salt ions.The pH results indicated that the CS-La-N-20%would effectively sequestrate phosphate over a wide pH range between 3 and 7 without significant La3+leaching.What’s more,adsorption capacity on the introduce of positively charged quanternary-aminated groups was significantly higher than that of the unmodified adsorbents at alkaline conditions.The column adsorption capacity reached 1300 bed volumes(BV)when phosphate concentration decreased until 0.5 mg/L at 6 BV/hr.The column adsorption/desorption reveals that no significant capacity loss is observed,indicating excellent stability and repeated use property.Characterizations revealed that phosphate adsorption on CS-La-N-20%through ligand exchange(impregnated nano-La(OH)3)and electrostatic attraction(positively charged quanternary-aminated groups).All the results suggested that CS-La-N-20%can serve as a promising adsorbent for preferable phosphate removal in realistic application.Shaopeng Zhang Yi Zhang Jie Ding Zepeng Zhang Chao Gao Muslim Halimi Hary Demey Zhen Yang Weiben Yang 2021Journal of Environmental Sciences2021,33,8:3

14MIL-101(Cr)-decorated Ti/TiO_(2) anode for electrochemical oxidation of aromatic pollutants from water显示文摘Hydroxyl radicals(·OH) generated on anode play a vital role in electrochemical oxidation(EO) of organic pollutants for water treatment. Inspired by the four-electron oxygen evolution reaction(OER), we supposed an anode-selection strategy to stabilize deeply oxidized states(*O and*OOH) which are beneficial to generating·OH. To verify the hypothesis, a candidate anode component(MIL-101(Cr), a well-known metal-organic framework with active variable-valence transition metal centers) was used to coat Ti/TiO_(2)plate to fabricate anodes. Compared to TiO_(2)(101) plane on undecorated anode surface, fast and complete removal of aniline and phenol, and improved energy utilization were achieved on MIL-101(Cr)-coatedTi/TiO_(2)anode. Mechanism investigation, including pollutant degradation pathways, showed the predominate contribution(69.60%–75.13%) of·OH in pollutant mineralization. Density functional theory(DFT)computations indicated Cr site in MIL-101(Cr) was more conducive to stabilizing*O and*OOH, leading to thermodynamical spontaneous generation of·OH. 15Improved utilization of active sites for phosphorus adsorption in FeOOH/anion exchanger nanocomposites via a glycol-solvothermal synthesis strategy显示文摘Metal oxide/hydroxide-based nanocomposite adsorbents with porous supporting matrices have been recognized as efficient adsorbents for phosphorus recovery.Aiming at satisfying increasingly restrictive environmental requirements involving improving metal site utilization and lowering metal leakage risk,a glycol-solvothermal confined-space synthesis strategy was proposed for the fabrication of Fe OOH/anion exchanger nanocomposites(Fe/900s)with enhanced metal site utilization and reduced metal leakage risk.Compared to composites prepared using alkaline precipitation methods,Fe/900s performed comparably,with a high adsorption capacity of 19.05 mg-P/g with an initial concentration of 10 mg-P/L,a high adsorption selectivity of 8.2 mg-P/g in the presence of 500 mg-SO_(4)^(2-)/L,and high long-term resilience(with a capacity loss of~14%after five cycles),along with substantially lower Fe loading amount(4.11 wt.%)and Fe leakage percentage.Mechanistic investigation demonstrated that contribution of the specific Fe OOH sites to phosphate adsorption increased substantially(up to 50.97%under the optimal conditions),in which Fe(Ⅲ)-OH was the dominant efficient species.The side effects of an excessively long reaction time,which included quaternary ammonium decomposition,Fe OOH aggregation,and Fe(Ⅲ)reduction,were discussed as guidance for optimizing the synthesis strategy.The glycol-solvothermal strategy provides a facile solution to environmental problems through nanocrystal growth engineering in a confined space.Yi Zhang Qiong Tang Yifan Sun Chenxu Yao Zhen Yang Weiben Yang 2022Journal of Environmental Sciences2022,34,1:0
16Donor-acceptor 2D covalent organic frameworks for efficient heterogeneous photocatalyticα-oxyamination显示文摘Covalent organic frameworks(COFs)have received widespread interest due to their high porosity,excellent crystallinity,tailorable structures,and broad application prospects.It has been demonstrated that proper combination and arrangement of electron donor and acceptor units in 2D conjugated COF lattice could promote efficient charge separation and electron transfer,and thus is beneficial for photocatalysis.In this article,three donor-acceptor(D-A)2D COFs were prepared by Schiff base reaction of electron acceptor 4,4′,4′′,4′′′-(benzo[1,2-d:4,5-d′]bis(oxazole)-2,4,6,8-tetrayl)tetraaniline(BBO)with different electron donors:thieno[3,2-b]thiophene-2,5-dicarbaldehyde(TT),benzo[1,2-b:4,5-b’]dithiophene-2,6-dicarboxaldehyde(BDT)and terephthalaldehyde(Ph),respectively.These D-A 2D COFs exhibited prominent photocatalytic activity towardsα-oxyamination of 1,3-dicarbonyl with 2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-1-piperdinyloxy(TEMPO)upon visible light irradiation.Among these D-ABBO-COFs,DTT-ABBO-COF exhibited the highest photocatalytic rates,which can be ascribed to the more negative highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO)and narrower bandgap.The excellent stability,high activity and superior recyclability render DTT-ABBO-COF as a potential and environmentally friendly heterogeneous catalyst forα-oxyamination.Huan Liu Xiaoli Yan Weiben Chen Zhen Xie Shen Li Weihua Chen Ting Zhang Guolong Xing Long Chen 2021Science China Chemistry2021,64,5:0
17STUDY ON SIDE REACTION IN THE SYNTHESIS OF HYPERCROSSLINKED POLYMERS显示文摘The systematical study about side reactions have revealed the formation mechanism of oxygen-containing groups of hypercrosslinked polymers. Surface chemistry and functionality of the polymers are characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), solid state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and contact angle. The results showed that the ether groups were from chloromethylated reaction, and the alcohol groups arose from partial hydrolysis of chloromethyl groups during the post-crosslinking reaction, and the carbonyl functionality was formed by further oxidation of the alcohol groups. 18Factors influencing antibiotics adsorption onto engineered adsorbents显示文摘The study evaluated the adsorption of two antibiotics by four engineered adsorbents (hypercrosslinked resin MN-202, macroporous resin XAD-4, activated carbon F-400, and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT)) from aqueous solutions. The dynamic results demonstrated the dominant influence of pore size in adsorption. The adsorption amounts of antibiotics on XAD-4 were attributed to the hydrophobic effect, whereas steric hindrance or micropore-filling played a main role in the adsorption of antibiotics by F-400 because of its high microporosity. Aside from F-400, similar patterns of pH-dependent adsorption were observed, implying the importance of antibiotic molecular forms to the adsorption process for adsorbents. Increasing the ionic concentration with CaCl 2 produced particular adsorption characteristics on MWCNT at pH 2.0 and F-400 at pH 8.0, which were attributed to the highly available contact surfaces and molecular sieving, respectively. Its hybrid characteristics incorporating a considerable portion of mesopores and micropores made hypercross linked MN-202 a superior antibiotic adsorbent with high adsorption capacity. 19Renewable molybdate complexes encapsulated in anion exchange resin for selective and durable removal of phosphate显示文摘The existence of many anions in wastewater reduces the removal efficiency of phosphate by adsorbents under realistic conditions.Facing this challenge,the study reports on an insistent and stable composite adsorbent of molybdate complexes Fe-(MoO_(x))embedded in a macroporous anion exchange resin(D-201).[Fe(MoO_(x))]-D-201 shows 93.7%adsorption capacity(28.3 mg/g)for phosphate even when the molar concentration of coexisting ions is 5 times higher than phosphate.The capacity of adsorbent is maintained more than 84.2%after five regeneration cycles to remove phosphate in the wastewater containing coexisting ions.The ability of highly selective removal of phosphate is maintained during the regeneration cycles explained by the change of the binding of molybdate clusters with phosphate,which is due to the different structures of molybdate clusters depending on various pH.In general,this work puts forward a new idea for the development of phosphorus removal adsorbents for the treatment of wastewater containing coexisting ions.Wei Zhu Xiaohua Huang Yi Zhang Zhonglong Yin Zhen Yang Weiben Yang 2021Chinese Chemical Letters2021,32,11:0
