2Scalable volumetric imaging for ultrahigh-speed brain mapping at synaptic resolution显示文摘The speed of high-resolution optical imaging has been a rate-limiting factor for meso-scale mapping of brain structures and functional circuits,which is of fundamental importance for neuroscience research.Here,we describe a new microscopy method of Volumetric Imaging with Synchronized on-the-fly-scan and Readout(VISo R)for high-throughput,high-quality brain mapping.Combining synchronized scanning beam illumination and oblique imaging over cleared tissue sections in smooth motion,the VISo R system effectively eliminates motion blur to obtain undistorted images.By continuously imaging moving samples without stopping,the system achieves high-speed 3D image acquisition of an entire mouse brain within1.5 hours,at a resolution capable of visualizing synaptic spines.A pipeline is developed for sample preparation,imaging,3D image reconstruction and quantification.Our approach is compatible with immunofluorescence methods,enabling flexible cell-type specific brain mapping and is readily scalable for large biological samples such as primate brains.Using this system,we examined behaviorally relevant whole-brain neuronal activation in 16 c-Fos-sh EGFP mice under resting or forced swimming conditions.Our results indicate the involvement of multiple subcortical areas in stress response.Intriguingly,neuronal activation in these areas exhibits striking individual variability among different animals,suggesting the necessity of sufficient cohort size for such studies.Hao Wang Qingyuan Zhu Lufeng Ding Yan Shen Chao-Yu Yang Fang Xu Chang Shu Yujie Guo Zhiwei Xiong Qinghong Shan Fan Jia Peng Su Qian-Ru Yang Bing Li Yuxiao Cheng Xiaobin He Xi Chen Feng Wu Jiang-Ning Zhou Fuqiang Xu Hua Han Pak-Ming Lau Guo-Qiang Bi 2019National Science Review2019,6,5:7

4Cortical Organization of Centrifugal Afferents to the Olfactory Bulb: Mono-and Trans-synaptic Tracing with Recombinant Neurotropic Viral Tracers显示文摘Sensory processing is strongly modulated by different brain and behavioral states,and this is based on the top-down modulation.In the olfactory system,local neural circuits in the olfactory bulb(OB)are innervated by centrifugal afferents in order to regulate the processing of olfactory information in the OB under different behavioral states.The purpose of the present study was to explore the organization of neural networks in olfactory-related cortices and modulatory nuclei that give rise to direct and indirect innervations to the glomerular layer(GL)of the OB at the whole-brain scale.Injection of different recombinant attenuated neurotropic viruses into the GL showed that it received direct inputs from each layer in the OB,centrifugal inputs from the ipsilateralanterior olfactory nucleus(AON),anterior piriform cortex(Pir),and horizontal limb of diagonal band of Broca(HDB),and various indirect inputs from bilateral cortical neurons in the AON,Pir,amygdala,entorhinal cortex,hippocampus,HDB,dorsal raphe,median raphe and locus coeruleus.These results provide a circuitry basis that will help further understand the mechanism by which olfactory informationprocessing in the OB is regulated.Pengjie Wen Xiaoping Rao Liuying Xu Zhijian Zhang Fan Jia Xiaobin He Fuqiang Xu 2019Neuroscience Bulletin2019,35,4:4
5A fast arc fault detection method for AC solid state power controllers in MEA显示文摘Arc fault detection is desperately required in Solid State Power Controllers(SSPC) in addition to their fundamental functions because arcs will provoke growing harm and threat to aircraft safety. Experimental study has been done to obtain the faulted current data. In order to improve the detection speed and accuracy, two fast arc fault detection methods have been proposed in this paper with the analysis of only half cycle data. Both Fast Fourier Transform(FFT) and Wavelet Packets Decomposition(WPD) have been adopted to distinguish arc fault currents from normal operation currents. Analysis results show that Alternating Current(AC) arcs can be effectively and accurately detected with the proposed half cycle data based methods. 6Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Aer Met 100 Ultra-high Strength Steel Joints by Laser Welding显示文摘Aer Met100 ultra-high strength steel plates with a thickness of 2 mm were welded using a CO2 laser welding system. The influences of the welding process parameters on the morphology and microstructure of the welding joints were investigated, and the mechanical property of the welding joints was analyzed. The experimental results showed that the fusion zone of welding joint mainly consisted of columnar grains and a fine dendrite substructure grew epitaxially from the matrix. With the other conditions remaining unchanged, a finer weld microstructure was along with the scanning speed increase. The solidification microstructure gradually transformed from cellular crystal into dendrite crystal and the spaces of dendrite secondary arms rose from the fusion line to the center of the fusion zone. In the fusion zone of the weld, the rapid cooling caused the formation of martensite, which led the microhardness of the fusion zone higher than that of the matrix and the heat affected zone. The tensile strength of the welding joints was tested as 1 700 MPa, which was about 87% of the matrix. 7A Nonresonant Hybridized Electromagnetic-Triboelectric Nanogenerator for Irregular and Ultralow Frequency Blue Energy Harvesting显示文摘As a promising renewable energy source,it is a challenging task to obtain blue energy,which is irregular and has an ultralow frequency,due to the limitation of technology.Herein,a nonresonant hybridized electromagnetic-triboelectric nanogenerator was presented to efficiently obtain the ultralow frequency energy.The instrument adopted the flexible pendulum structure with a precise design and combined the working principle of electromagnetism and triboelectricity to realize the all-directional vibration energy acquisition successfully.The results confirmed that the triboelectric nanogenerator(TENG)had the potential to deliver the maximum power point of about 470μW while the electromagnetic nanogenerator(EMG)can provide 523 mW at most.The conversion efficiency of energy of the system reached 48.48%,which exhibited a remarkable improvement by about 2.96 times,due to the elastic buffering effect of the TENG with the double helix structure.Furthermore,its ability to collect low frequency wave energy was successfully proven by a buoy in Jialing River.This woke provides an effective candidate to harvest irregular and ultralow frequency blue energy on a large scale.Weibo Xie Lingxiao Gao Lingke Wu Xin Chen Fayang Wang Daqiao Tong Jian Zhang Jianyu Lan Xiaobin He Xiaojing Mu Ya Yang 2021Research2021,,1:4
8Monitoring of atmospheric radionuclides from the Fukushima nuclear accident and assessing their impact on Xi'an, China显示文摘Aerosol radionuclides (131I, 134Cs, 137Cs) and gaseous radioactive xenon (133Xe) were monitored at Xi'an, China following the accident at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in March 2011. The additional annual effective dose attributable to the Fukushima emissions was much lower than the public annual effective dose from natural radiation, according to Chinese national standards. The monitoring results were compared with data from other countries as well as with the radionuclide concentrations observed in Xi'an after the Chernobyl nuclear accident in 1986. Possible transport pathways of the released radionuclides from Fukushima to Xi'an were investigated. 9Algorithm of Micro-Grooving and Imaging Processing for the Generation of High-Resolution Structural Color Images显示文摘The use of submicron structures for structural coloration of surfaces has broad applications for color filters,projection displays,virtual reality,and anti-counterfeiting.Currently,structural color images lack high resolution due to low manufacturing accuracy.In this study,the axial-feed fly cutting(AFC)method is proposed to fabricate submicron grooves for the diffraction of visible light to create structural color images.We establish the relationship between the color information in the pixels of the original image and the parameters of the array units corresponding to the pixels.An algorithm to determine groove spacing and the tool path is established,and array units with the desired groove spacing are machined to reproduce the structural color images.The submicron grooves fabricated by AFC have high quality and good consistency.Due to the excellent diffraction performance of the machined grooves,images with high saturation and resolution can be reproduced.It is verified that images with various colors can be efficiently fabricated using the proposed method and algorithm.Tianfeng Zhou Yupeng He Tianxing Wang Xiaobin Dong Peng Liu Wenxiang Zhao Yao Hu Jiwang Yan 2020Nanomanufacturing and Metrology2020,3,3:4
10Disaster Risk Science:A Geographical Perspective and a Research Framework显示文摘In this article,we recall the United Nations’30-year journey in disaster risk reduction strategy and framework,review the latest progress and key scientific and technological questions related to the United Nations disaster risk reduction initiatives,and summarize the framework and contents of disaster risk science research.The object of disaster risk science research is the'disaster system'consisting of hazard,the geographical environment,and exposed units,with features of regionality,interconnectedness,coupling,and complexity.Environmental stability,hazard threat,and socioeconomic vulnerability together determine the way that disasters are formed,establish the spatial extent of disaster impact,and generate the scale of losses.In the formation of a disaster,a conducive environment is the prerequisite,a hazard is the necessary condition,and socioeconomic exposure is the sufficient condition.The geographical environment affects local hazard intensity and therefore can change the pattern of loss distribution.Regional multi-hazard,disaster chain,and disaster compound could induce complex impacts,amplifying or attenuating hazard intensity and changing the scope of affected areas.In the light of research progress,particularly in the context of China,we propose a threelayer disaster risk science disciplinary structure,which contains three pillars(disaster science,disaster technology,and disaster governance),nine core areas,and 27 research fields.Based on these elements,we discuss the frontiers in disaster risk science research.Peijun Shi Tao Ye Ying Wang Tao Zhou Wei Xu Juan Du Jing'ai Wang Ning Li Chongfu Huang Lianyou Liu Bo Chen Yun Su Weihua Fang Ming Wang Xiaobin Hu Jidong Wu Chunyang He Qiang Zhang Qian Ye Carlo Jaeger Norio Okada 2020International Journal of Disaster Risk Science2020,11,4:4
11高能聚束微波热疗联合沙培林胸腔注射治疗恶性胸水(英文)显示文摘Objective:The aim of the study was to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of high power focused-beam microwave hyperthermia with intrapleural injection of Shapeilin for patients with malignant hydrothorax.Methods:Fifty-eight patients with malignant hydrothorax were divided into group A and group B randomly.All patients underwent indwelling pleural catheter and were treated by intrapleural injection of Shapeilin once three days.Treatment was composed of 3 times injection.Patients of group B received high power focused-beam microwave hyperthermia after injection of Shapeilin.Results:The response rate of group B(79.3%) was higher than that of group A(48.3%)(P < 0.05).Incidence of main adverse reactions,associated with Shapeilin,of two groups including fever and thoracodynia were similar(P > 0.05).Patients of group B didn't encounter severe toxicities of microwave hyperthermia.Conclusion:High power focused-beam microwave hyperthermia combined with intrapleural injection of Shapeilin is effective and tolerable for patients with malignant hydrothorax.Lingqin Song Jianjun He Xijing Wang Hongbing Ma Shuqun Zhang Zhijun Dai Baofeng Wang Xiaobin Ma 2011The Chinese-German Journal of Clinical Oncology2011,10,2:2
12Thermal performance of a 3D printed lattice-structure heat sink packaging phase change material显示文摘Thermal storage technology is becoming more and more significant with the increase of high-power equipment in space applications.In this paper,3 D printing technology and Phase Change Material(PCM)were combined into a Thermal Energy Storage(TES)system,which could fulfill the requirements of light weight and high thermal conductivity.A 3 D-printed lattice-structure TES plate with N-tetradecane as the PCM and aluminum alloy as the thermal conductivity enhancer was manufactured,and experimentally tested in a thermal vacuum chamber.In addition,a simplified simulation model of the lattice cell was established to clearly analyze the heat transfer process of the TES plate.The effects of initial temperature distribution and heat load gradient on the thermal storage performances were investigated experimentally and theoretically.The equivalent thermal conductivity of the 3 D-printed lattice-structure TES plate turns out to be 13 times of the pure PCM thanks to the aluminum skeleton.The heat transfer enhancement appears at the end of the phase change stage due to the sudden mixture of the PCM with different temperature.The simulation results agree well with the experimental data.The equivalent thermal conductivity obtained by the phase change simulations are a little higher than those of the experiments,which is mainly caused by the initial uneven temperature distribution in the tests.Additionally,the effects of non-uniform heat load and the presence of the PCM in the TES plate are studied.This work successfully validates the feasibility and effectiveness of 3 D printing technology and TES technology for the temperature control in space applications.Yuandong GUO Huning YANG Guiping LIN Haichuan JIN Xiaobin SHEN Jiang HE Jianyin MIAO 2021Chinese Journal of Aeronautics2021,34,5:2
13High-efficient crystal particle manufacture by microscale process intensification technology显示文摘High-end crystal manufacture has drawn a permanent concern on the high-efficient manufacture of crystal particles,especially in fine chemical,pharmaceutical,electronics,biological and relative engineering fields.In recent years,a series of microscale process intensification(MPI)technologies have been widely used in crystal particles preparation via addressing the control of nucleation and growth process.Herein,we review the research progresses of microscale process intensification technology from three aspects,microfluidics devices,microscale force field technology and membrane-based microchannels and interface transfer process.Firstly,the principle of microfluidic and relative microscale device on improving micro-mixing and mass transfer are briefly described.The advantage of microfluidic in continuous nano particle preparation is outlined.Microscale external force field(ultrasonic,high-gravity,electric and magnetic fields)is then introduced as another novel approach for ultrafine nanoparticles and continuous drug crystallization process.Further,in view of the micro-scale intensified mass transfer and microscale interfacial force field established on membrane technology,the basic mechanism of membrane crystallization(microscale 2D supersaturation degree control,auto seed detachment,microporous membrane dispersion,etc.)is reviewed.The process coupling and design strategy aiming for enhancing the manufacture capacity is also illustrated.Finally,the developing tendency and key challenges of high-efficient crystal particle preparation technology via microscale processes are overviewed.Yuchao Niu Shaofu Du Lei Sheng Wu Xiao Xiaobin Jiang Gaohong He 2021Green Chemical Engineering2021,2,1:2
14Coil-levitated hybrid generator for mechanical energy harvesting and wireless temperature and vibration monitoring显示文摘The development of wireless monitoring is currently restricted by the short lifetime of batteries,requiring frequent replacement.Utilization of abundant mechanical energy from the surrounding environment has attracted increasing attention in real-time monitoring.Herein,a coil-levitated hybrid generator was developed for the efficient harvesting of mechanical energy from mechanical motion.The novel coil-levitated structure adapted to the metal and magnetic environment.The output currents were systematically analyzed at different operation modes based on the unique combination of triboelectrification,electromagnetic induction,and piezoelectric effect.Under the excitation of vibration frequency and amplitude of 8 Hz and 5 mm respectively,the as-constructed triboelectric nanogenerator delivered a peak power density of 11.40 W/m3 at 10 MΩ.Meanwhile,the middle electromagnetic part and bottom piezoelectric generator provided peak power densities of 6.97 and 79.93 W/m2 at 10000Ω,respectively.More importantly,the battery charging experiment was verified,in which a 30 mA h Li-ion battery can be charged from 2.57 to 3.27 V in about 90 min.In sum,a self-powered temperature and vibration monitoring system was successfully developed based on hybrid generator,promising for realizing wireless monitoring of mechanical equipment without any external power supply.XUE XiaoBin ZHANG ZengXing WU Bin HE ShanShan WANG Qiang ZHANG WenJun BI RuiYu CUI Juan ZHENG YongQiu XUE ChenYang 2021Science China(Technological Sciences)2021,64,6:2
15FKBP23 in ER binds to BiP specifically显示文摘FKBP23 was found in mouse endoplasmic reticulum (ER) in 1998. It consists of an N-terminal peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase) domain and a C-terminal domain with Ca2+ binding sites. The fusion protein of mouse FKBP23 and glutathione S-transferase (GST), GST-FKBP23, and the fusion protein of BiP, a member of heat shock protein 70 (Hsp 70) in ER, and GST, GST-BiP, were subcloned in E. coli, expressed and purified. The fusion proteins were restrictively digested by Factor Xa (FaXa) to obtain the free cloned proteins FKBP23 and BiP. With the assay of adsorption of free FKBP23 or BiP with GST-BiP or GST-FKBP23 attached to the Glutathione-Sepharose 4B, the adsorbed FKBP23 or BiP could be detected by Immunoblot. It means that FKBP23 binds to BiP. Furthermore, BiP in leukocyte ER-extract can be adsorbed with GST-FKBP23 attached to the glutathione-Sepharose 4B. It shows that FKBP23 binds to natural BiP in ER, too. 16Rabies Virus Pseudotyped with CVS-N2C Glycoprotein as a Powerful Tool for Retrograde Neuronal Network Tracing显示文摘Efficient viral vectors for mapping and manipulating long-projection neuronal circuits are crucial in structural and functional studies of the brain. The SAD strain rabies virus with the glycoprotein gene deleted pseudotyped with the N2 C glycoprotein(SAD-RV(DG)-N2 C(G)) shows strong neuro-tropism in cell culture, but its in vivo efficiency for retrograde gene transduction and neuro-tropism have not been systematically characterized.We compared these features in different mouse brain regions for SAD-RV-N2 C(G) and two other widely-used retrograde tracers, SAD-RV(DG)-B19(G) and r AAV2-retro. We found that SAD-RV(DG)-N2 C(G) enhanced the infection efficiency of long-projecting neurons by^10 times but with very similar neuro-tropism, compared with SAD-RV(DG)-B19(G). On the other hand, SAD-RV(DG)-N2 C(G) had an infection efficiency comparable with r AAV2-retro, but a more restricted diffusion range, and broader tropism to different types and regions of longprojecting neuronal populations. 17Mineralogy of Chang’e-4 landing site:preliminary results of visible and near-infrared imaging spectrometer显示文摘The exploration of mafic anomaly in South Pole-Aitken(SPA,the largest confirmed)basin on the Moon provides important insights into lunar interior.The landing of Chang’e-4(CE-4)and deployment of Yutu-2 rover on the discontinuous ejecta from Finsen crater enabled in-situ measurements of the unusual mineralogy in the central portion of SPA basin with visible and near-infrared imaging spectrometer(VNIS).Here we present detailed processing procedures based on the level 2B data of CE-4 VNIS and preliminary mineralogical results at the exploration area of Yutu-2 rover.A systematic processing pipeline is developed to derive credible reflectance spectra,based on which several spectral and mineral indices are calculated to constrain the mafic mineralogy.The mafic components in the soils and boulder around CE-4 landing site are concluded as clinopyroxene-bearing with intermediate composition and probably dominated by pigeonite although the possibility of mixing orthopyroxen(OPX)and calcic clinopyroxene(CPX)also exists.These mineralogical results are more consistent with a petrogenesis that the CE-4 regolith and rock fragment are derived from rapid-cooling magmatic systems and we interpret that the materials at the CE-4 landing site ejected from Finsen crater are probably recrystallized from impact melt settings.Jian CHEN Zongcheng LING Le QIAO Zhiping HE Rui XU Lingzhi SUN Jiang ZHANG Bo LI Xiaohui FU Changqing LIU Xiaobin QI 2020Science China(Information Sciences)2020,63,4:2
18Ownership Restructuring,Marketization and Wealth Inequality in Urban China:1995 and 2002显示文摘This paper proposes a property transformation perspective to examine the mechanisms of wealth accumulation and wealth inequality creation during China’s post-1978 transformation. It examines how enterprise ownership restructuring,marketization and state politics have resulted in greater wealth inequality between cadres and ordinary workers,between public sectors/organizations and private sectors/organizations.Mainly drawing on data from the Chinese Household Income Project conducted in 1995 and 2002,we find that the property transformation process has created greater wealth disparity among different occupational groups and among those working in different work organizations since the mid-1990s. 20Oxygen defects boost polysulfides immobilization and catalytic conversion:First-principles computational characterization and experimental design显示文摘Although some experiments have shown that point defects in a cathode host material may enhance its performance for lithium-sulfur battery(LSB),the enhancement mechanism needs to be well investigated for the design of desired sulfur host.Herein,the first principle density functional theory(DFT)is adopted to investigate a high-performance sulfur host material based on oxygen-defective TiO2(D-TiO2).The adsorption energy comparisons and Gibbs free energy analyses verify that D-TiO2 has relatively better performances than defect-free TiO2 in terms of anchoring effect and catalytic conversion of polysulfides.Meanwhile,D-TiO2 is capable of absorbing the most soluble and diffusive long-chain polysulfides.The newly designed D-TiO2 composited with three-dimensional graphene aerogel(D-TiO2@Gr)has been shown to be an excellent sulfur host,maintaining a specific discharge capacity of 1,049.3 mAhg^−1 after 100 cycles at 1C with a sulfur loading of 3.2 mgcm^−2.Even with the sulfur mass loading increasing to 13.7 mgcm^−2,an impressive stable cycling is obtained with an initial areal capacity of 14.6 mAhcm^−2,confirming the effective enhancement of electrochemical performance by the oxygen defects.The DFT calculations shed lights on the enhancement mechanism of the oxygen defects and provide some guidance for designing advanced sulfur host materials.Qiu He Bin Yu Huan Wang Masud Rana Xiaobin Liao Yan Zhao 2020Nano Research2020,13,8:2
