1A DC Grid Benchmark Model for Studies of Interconnection of Power Systems显示文摘Reducing carbon emissions in the power sector is critical for transitioning to a sustainable and low-carbon future.Estimating carbon efficiency of demand side response(DSR)in the power system is an important step towards realizing potential environmental benefits.Marginal emission factor(MEF)is an effective tool for estimating incremental changes in carbon emissions as a result of a change in demand.However,estimation methods currently used for evaluating MEF can be improved upon,specifically,by factoring in the ramp-rate constraint of generators in the fuel cost based merit order dispatch.In this paper is described a new method for MEF assessment under ramp-rate constraints;the method is then compared with two conventional estimations in a British power system.Three fuel price scenarios are used to conduct a sensitivity analysis of MEFs to fuel prices.Conclusions are drawn that can pave the way for future improvements in estimating MEF in power systems.Ting An Xiaoxin Zhou Congda Han Yanan Wu Zhiyuan He Hui Pang Guangfu Tang 2015CSEE Journal of Power and Energy Systems2015,1,4:17
2A novel quantified bitterness evaluation model for traditional Chinese herbs based on an animal ethology principle显示文摘Traditional Chinese herbs(TCH) are currently gaining attention in disease prevention and health care plans. However, their general bitter taste hinders their use. Despite the development of a variety of taste evaluation methods, it is still a major challenge to establish a quantitative detection technique that is objective, authentic and sensitive. Based on the two-bottle preference test(TBP), we proposed a novel quantitative strategy using a standardized animal test and a unified quantitative benchmark. To reduce the difference of results, the methodology of TBP was optimized. The relationship between the concentration of quinine and animal preference index(PI) was obtained. Then the PI of TCH was measured through TBP, and bitterness results were converted into a unified numerical system using the relationship of concentration and PI. To verify the authenticity and sensitivity of quantified results,human sensory testing and electronic tongue testing were applied. The quantified results showed a good discrimination ability. For example, the bitterness of Coptidis Rhizoma was equal to 0.0579 mg/mL quinine, and Nelumbinis Folium was equal to 0.0001 mg/mL. The validation results proved that the newassessment method for TCH was objective and reliable. 3The Coix Genome Provides Insights into Panicoideae Evolution and Papery Hull Domestication显示文摘Coix is a grass crop domesticated as early as the Neolithic era.It is still widely cultivated for both highly nutritional food and medicinal use.However,the genetic study and breeding of this crop are hindered by the lack of a sequenced genome.Here,we report de novo sequencing and assembly of the 1619-Mb genome of Coix,and annotation of 75.39%repeats and 39629 protein-coding genes.Comparative genomics analysis showed that Coix is more closely related to sorghum than maize,but intriguingly only Coix and maize had a recent genome duplication event,which was not detected in sorghum.We further constructed a genetic map and mapped several important traits,especially the strength of hull.Selection of papery hull(thin:easy dehulling)from the stony hull(thick:difficult dehulling)in wild progenitors was a key step in Coix domestication.The papery hull makes seed easier to process and germinate.Anatomic and global transcriptome analysis revealed that the papery hull is a result of inhibition of cell division and wall biogenesis.We also successfully demonstrated that seed hull pressure resistance is controlled by two major quantitative trait loci(QTLs),which are associated with hull thickness and color,respectively.The two QTLs were further fine mapped within intervals of 250 kb and 146 kb,respectively.These resources provide a platform for evolutionary studies and will facilitate molecular breeding of this important crop.Chao Guo Yanan Wang Aiguo Yang Jun He Chaowen Xiao Shanhua Lv Fengming Han Yibing Yuan Yuan Yuan Xiaolong Dong Juan Guo YawenYang-Hailan Liu Ningzhi Zuo Yaxi Hu Kangxu Zhao Zhengbo Jiang Xing Wang Tingting Jiang Yaou Sherf Moju Cao Yuan Wang Zhaobo Long Tingzhao Rong Luqi Huang Shufeng Zhou 2020Molecular Plant2020,13,2:11

5Facile synthesis of ultrathin metal-organic framework nanosheets for Lewis acid catalysis显示文摘Ultrathin metalorganic framework (MOF) nanosheets are attracting great interest in catalysis due to their unique and intriguing two-dime nsional (2D) features. Although many progresses have been achieved, it is still highly desirable to develop novel strategies for controllable synthesis of the well-defined ultrathin MOF nanosheets. Herein we report a polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP)-assisted route to synthesize the ultrathin Ni-MOF nanosheets characteristic of 1.5 nm in thickness, in which PVP is reacted with 2-aminoterephthalic acid (H2BDC-NH2) via formation of C=N bon d, followed by coord inatio n with Ni2+ io ns to form the ultrathi n MOF n anosheets. 6Self-Assembled Silane Film and Silver Nanoparticles Coating on Magnesium Alloys for Corrosion Resistance and Antibacterial Applications显示文摘Contamination resulting from microbial adhesion on magnesium alloys is very common in many applications.Self-assembly technology was employed to prepare an antibacterial composite coating by fixing silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)onto the surface of magnesium alloys.The AgNPs were immobilized on the surface of3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane(APTMS)-modified magnesium alloy AZ31(APTMS/Mg)through electrostatic inter-attraction between partially protonated amino groups and negatively charged citrate-capped AgNPs,resulting in the AgNPs attached APTMS/Mg(AgNPs/APTMS/Mg)substrate.The prepared Ag colloid and functionalized AZ31 alloy were characterized by ultraviolet-visible(UV-vis)spectroscopy,Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and electrochemical methods.Finally,the bactericidal activity of AgNPs/APTMS/Mg substrate against Escherichia coli was assessed by the inhibition zone.The results demonstrated that Si-O-Si covalent bonds existed on the substrate with the formation of inorganic Si-O-Mg bonds.AgNPs were immobilized and well-dispersed,forming a uniform submonolayer on the silane film in two dimensions.The AgNPs/APTMS-pretreated AZ31 alloys exhibited better corrosion resistance and excellent antibacterial performance.Rongchang ZENG Lijun LIU Shuoqi LI Yuhong ZOU Fen ZHANG Yanan YANG Hongzhi CUI En-hou HAN 2013Acta Metallurgica Sinica(English Letters)2013,26,6:8
7Near-surface Geothermal Gradient Observation and Geothermal Analyses in the Xianshuihe Fault Zone,Eastern Tibetan Plateau显示文摘The Xianshuihe fault(XSHF) zone, characterized by intense tectonic activity, is located at the southwest boundary of the Bayan Har block, where several major earthquakes have occurred, including the 2008 Wenchuan and the 2013 Lushan earthquakes. This study analysed underground temperature sequence data for four years at seven measuring points at different depths(maximum depth: 18.9 m) in the southeastern section of the XSHF zone. High-frequency atmospheric noise was removed from the temperature sequences to obtain relatively stable temperature fields and heat fluxes near the measurement points. Our measurements show that the surrounding bedrock at(the seven stations distributed in the fault zone) had heat flux values range from-41.0 to 206 m W/m^2, with a median value of 54.3 m W/m^2. The results indicate a low heat flux in the northern section of DaofuKangting and a relatively high heat flux in the southern section of Kangting, which is consistent with the temperature distributions of the hot springs near the fault. Furthermore, our results suggest that the heat transfer in this field results primarily from stable underground heat conduction. 10Generation of multi-channel chaotic signals with time delay signature concealment and ultrafast photonic decision making based on a globally-coupled semiconductor laser network显示文摘We propose and demonstrate experimentally and numerically a network of three globally coupled semiconductor lasers(SLs)that generate triple-channel chaotic signals with time delayed signature(TDS)concealment.The effects of the coupling strength and bias current on the concealment of the TDS are investigated.The generated chaotic signals are further applied to reinforcement learning,and a parallel scheme is proposed to solve the multiarmed bandit(MAB)problem.The influences of mutual correlation between signals from different channels,the sampling interval of signals,and the TDS concealment on the performance of decision making are analyzed.Comparisons between the proposed scheme and two existing schemes show that,with a simplified algorithm,the proposed scheme can perform as well as the previous schemes or even better.Moreover,we also consider the robustness of decision making performance against a dynamically changing environment and verify the scalability for MAB problems with different sizes.This proposed globally coupled SL network for a multi-channel chaotic source is simple in structure and easy to implement.The attempt to solve the MAB problem in parallel can provide potential values in the realm of the application of ultrafast photonics intelligence.Yanan Han Shuiying Xiang Yang Wang Yuanting Ma Bo Wang Aijun Wen Yue Hao 2020Photonics Research2020,8,11:6
11Thermal Shock-Activated Spontaneous Growing of Nanosheets for Overall Water Splitting显示文摘Nanomaterials based on nickel foam(NF) have been widely applied in energy conversion and storage field.Traditional synthesis methods such as hydrothermal method which is dangerous and high cost limited the scalable developments.Herein,we report a fast,simple,and low-cost synthesis method of nanomaterials based on NF by Joule-heating and water soaking treatment.Thin carbon-coated CoS on NF(NF-C/CoS) was synthesized by Joule-heating for a few seconds with rapid cooling.And then,NF-C/CoS/NiOOH with core-shell heterostructure was fabricated by soaking treatment of NF-C/CoS in water on which NiOOH nanosheets grew spontaneously.The formation mechanism is proposed that the coordination complex precursor converts into C/CoS on NF driven by Joule-heating,and the nickel on the surface of NF is activated to form metastable nickel simultaneously.The metastable nickel reacting with water leads to the formation of NiOOH,and the induction of CoS makes NiOOH grow continuously.This synthesis technology provides a new route to manufacture NF-based nanostructures,and the as-fabricated NF-C/CoS/NiOOH exhibits great potential as electrocatalyst for oxygen evolution reaction and hydrogen evolution reaction.Han Wu Qi Lu Jinfeng Zhang Jiajun Wang Xiaopeng Han Naiqin Zhao Wenbin Hu Jiajun Li Yanan Chen Yida Deng 2020Nano-Micro Letters2020,12,11:6
12Benefit of everolimus as a monotherapy for a refractory breast cancer patient bearing multiple genetic mutations in the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway显示文摘A postmenopausal patient with a diagnosis of estrogen receptor(ER)(+), progesterone receptor(PR)(+), and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2(HER2)(-) breast cancer was reported. The patient refused surgery and was resistant to conventional chemotherapy regimens. Computed tomography and the circulating tumor cell test indicated that the patient's tumor burden increased rapidly even after several chemotherapy sessions. Multiple genetic aberrances in the phosphatidylinositol3-kinases(PI3 K) signaling pathway were detected via next-generation sequencing(NGS)-based liquid biopsy, including a p. G1007 R missense mutation in exon 21 of PIK3 CA(33.61%), a p.L70 fs frameshift mutation in exon 3 of phosphatase and tension homolog deleted on chromosome ten(PTEN)(49.14%), and a p. D1542 Y missense mutation in exon 32 of mammalian target of rapamycin(m TOR)(1.66%). Therefore, only the m TOR inhibitor everolimus was administered to the patient. Partial remission(PR) was observed after 2 months, and sustained stable disease(SD) was observed after a year and a half. Subsequent sequencing showed that the mutation ratio of PIK3 CA decreased to 4.17%, and that the PTEN and m TOR mutations disappeared, which revealed the significant curative effect of everolimus. We report the first case of successful monotherapy treatment using everolimus in a patient with advanced breast cancer bearing mutations in genes involved in the PI3 K/ARK/m TOR signaling pathway. 13by a cascade optical field modulation strategy facilitating selective multispectral narrow-band near-infrared photodetection显示文摘Since selective detection of multiple narrow spectral bands in the near-infrared(NIR)region still poses a fundamental challenge,we have,in this work,developed NIR photodetectors(PDs)using photon upconversion nanocrystals(UCNCs)combined with perovskite films.To conquer the relatively high pumping threshold of UCNCs,we designed a novel cascade optical field modulation strategy to boost upconversion luminescence(UCL)by cascading the superlensing effect of dielectric microlens arrays and the plasmonic effect of gold nanorods,which readily leads to a UCL enhancement by more than four orders of magnitude under weak light irradiation.By accommodating multiple optically active lanthanide ions in a core-shell-shell hierarchical architecture,developed PDs on top of this structure can detect three well-separated narrow bands in the NIR region,i.e.,those centered at 808,980,and 1540 nm.Due to the large UCL enhancement,the obtained PDs demonstrate extremely high responsivities of 30.73,23.15,and 12.20 AW^(−1) and detectivities of 5.36,3.45,and 1.91×10^(11) Jones for 808,980,and 1540 nm light detection,respectively,together with short response times in the range of 80-120 ms.Moreover,we demonstrate for the first time that the response to the excitation modulation frequency of a PD can be employed to discriminate the incident light wavelength.We believe that our work provides novel insight for developing NIR PDs and that it can spur the development of other applications using upconversion nanotechnology.Yanan Ji Wen Xu Nan Ding Haitao Yang Hongwei Song Qingyun Liu Hans Agren Jerker Widengren Haichun Liu 2020Light(Science & Applications)2020,9,1:6

15Microstructure and performance evaluations on Q&P hot stamping parts of several UHSS sheet metals显示文摘Hot stamping(press hardening) is widely used to fabricate safety components such as door beams and B pillars with increased strength via quenching. However, parts that are hot-stamped from ultra-high-strength steel(UHSS) have very limited elongation,i.e., low ductility. In the present study, a novel variant of hot stamping technology called quenching-and-partitioning(Q&P) hot stamping was developed. This approach was tested on several UHSS sheet metals, and it was confirmed that this method can be used to overcome the drawbacks associated with conventional hot stamping. The applicability of Q&P hot stamping to each of these steels was also assessed. The part properties and performances of three widely used ultra-high-strength sheet metals, B1500 HS,27 SiMn, and TRIP780, were evaluated through tensile testing and microstructural observations. The results demonstrated that the ductility of Q&P hot-stamped sheet metals was notably higher than that of the conventionally hot-stamped parts because Q&P hot stamping gives rise to a dual-phase structure of both martensite and austenite. Further, material tests demonstrated that the Q&P treatment had positive effects on all three selected materials, of which TRIP780 had the best ductility and the highest value of the product of strength and plasticity. 16Altered Local Field Potential Relationship Between the Parafascicular Thalamic Nucleus and Dorsal Striatum in Hemiparkinsonian Rats显示文摘The thalamostriatal pathway is implicated in Parkinson's disease(PD); however, PD-related changes in the relationship between oscillatory activity in the centromedian-parafascicular complex(CM/Pf, or the Pf in rodents) and the dorsal striatum(DS) remain unclear.Therefore, we simultaneously recorded local field potentials(LFPs) in both the Pf and DS of hemiparkinsonian and control rats during epochs of rest or treadmill walking. The dopamine-lesioned rats showed increased LFP power in the beta band(12 Hz–35 Hz) in the Pf and DS during both epochs, but decreased LFP power in the delta(0.5 Hz–3 Hz) band in the Pf during rest epochs and in the DS during both epochs, compared to control rats. In addition,exaggerated low gamma(35 Hz–70 Hz) oscillations after dopamine loss were restricted to the Pf regardless of the behavioral state. Furthermore, enhanced synchronization of LFP oscillations was found between the Pf and DS after the dopamine lesion. Significant increases occurred in the mean coherence in both theta(3 Hz–7 Hz) and beta bands,and a significant increase was also noted in the phase coherence in the beta band between the Pf and DS during rest epochs. During the treadmill walking epochs, significant increases were found in both the alpha(7 Hz–12 Hz)and beta bands for two coherence measures. 17Black phosphorus inverter devices enabled by in-situ aluminum surface modification显示文摘Two-dimensional black phosphorus (BP) generally exhibits a hole-dominated transport characteristic when configured as field-effect transistor devices. The effective control of charge carrier type and concentration is very crucial for the application of BP in complementary electronics. Herein, we report a facile and effective electron doping methodology on BP, through in situ surface modification with aluminum (Al). The electron mobility of few-layer BP is found to be largely enhanced to ~ 10.6 cm^2·V^–1·s^–1 by over 6 times after aluminum modification. In situ photoelectron spectroscopy characterization reveals the formation of Al–P covalent bond at the interface, which can also serve as local gate to tune the transport properties in BP layers. 18Production of aryl oxygen-containing compounds by catalytic pyrolysis of bagasse lignin over LaTi0.2Fe0.8O3 prepared by different methods显示文摘To realize the resource and high-value utilization,a new approach,named bagasse lignin(BL) used to produce aryl oxygen-containing compounds by catalytic pyrolysis over perovskite,was proposed,LaTi0.2Fe0.8O3(LTF) samples prepared by the sol-gel method(SG) and the solid-state reaction method(SS)were characterized.The catalytic action on BL pyrolysis was performed by the test of TG-DTG and the evaluation of the fixed bed micro-reactor,the components and contents of the products were determined.The results show that LTF samples have cubic perovskite phase,LTF prepared by SG(LTF-SG) is porous with larger specific surface area than LTF prepared by SS(LTF-SS).During the pyrolysis of BL,the addition of LTF lowers the pyrolysis temperature and the activation energy,the contents of CO2 and CO in gaseous products reduce by 4.6%-8.0% and 30.7%-34.3%,respectively,the total content of aryl oxygencontaining compounds(including phenolics,guaiacols,syringols and phenylates) in liquid products increases from 62 wt% to more than 72 wt%,and LTF-SG shows better catalytic performance.LTF samples have nice phase and catalytic stabilities for BL pyrolysis after five successive redox cycles.Haiying Wang Hongjing Han Enhao Sun Yanan Zhang Jinxin Li Yanguang Chen Hua Song Hongzhi Zhao Yue Kang 2020Journal of Rare Earths2020,38,1:5
19Paleomagnetic results from Late Carboniferous to Early Permian rocks in the northern Qiangtang terrane, Tibet, China, and their tectonic implications显示文摘Results of a systematic paleomagnetic study are reported based on Late Carboniferous to Early Permian sedimentary rocks on the north slope of the Tanggula Mountains,in the northern Qiangtang terrane(NQT),Tibet,China.Data revealed that magnetic minerals in limestone samples from the Zarigen Formation(CP^z)are primarily composed of magnetite,while those in sandstone samples from the Nuoribagaribao Formation(Pnr)are dominated by hematite alone,or hematite and magnetite in combination.Progressive thermal,or alternating field,demagnetization allowed us to isolate a stable high temperature component(HTC)in 127 specimens from 16 sites which successfully passed the conglomerate test,consistent with primary remnance.The tilt-corrected mean direction for Late Carboniferous to Early Permian rocks in the northern Qiangtang terrane is D_s=30.2°,I_s=-40.9°,k_s=269.0,a_(95)=2.3°,N=16,which yields a corresponding paleomagnetic pole at 25.7°N,241.5°E(dp/dm=2.8°/1.7°),and a paleolatitude of 23.4°S.Our results,together with previously reported paleomagnetic data,indicate that:(1)the NQT in Tibet,China,was located at a low latitude in the southern hemisphere,and may have belonged to the northern margin of Gondwana during the Late Carboniferous to Early Permian;(2)the Paleo-Tethys Ocean was large during the Late Carboniferous to Early Permian,and(3)the NQT subsequently moved rapidly northwards,perhaps related to the fact that the Paleo-Tethys Ocean was rapidly contracting from the Late Permian to Late Triassic while the Bangong Lake-Nujiang Ocean,the northern branch of the Neo-Tethys Ocean,expanded rapidly during this time.YANG XingFeng CHENG Xin ZHOU YaNan MA Lun ZHANG XiaoDong YAN ZhaoSheng PENG XiMing SU HaiLun WU HanNing 2017Science China Earth Sciences2017,60,1:5
20Bioactive thionic compounds and aromatic glycosides from Ligusticum chuanxiong显示文摘Three new thionic compounds,(S)-2-(2-carboxyl-2-hydroxyethylthio)-ferulic acid(1),(E)-2-methoxy-4-(3-(methylsulfonyl)prop-1-en-1-yl)phenol(2), and thiosenkyunolide C(3), together with two new aromatic glycosides(4 and 5) were isolated from the rhizome of Ligusticum chuanxiong Hort. Two known compounds(6 and 7) were also obtained. Their structures were elucidated based on extensive spectroscopic data(UV, IR, 1D and 2D NMR, and HR-ESI-MS). Furthermore the absolute configurations were established by comparison of their calculated and experimental circular dichroism spectra and by a dimolybdenum tetraacetate [Mo_2(AcO)_4]-induced circular dichroism procedure. All compounds were evaluated against lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced NO production in BV2 cells, and compounds 4 and 5 showed strong inhibitory activities with IC_(50) values of 2.03 and 3.09 μmol/L, respectively(positive control curcumin, IC_(50)=6.17 μmol/L).
