1Variation of head and facial morphological characteristics with increased age of Han in Southern China显示文摘We investigated 13940 (6735 male, 7250 female) adult head and facial physical attributes from 19 different Han ethnic groups in 10 southern-China provinces, and calculated 12 head and facial indexes. Indexes were used to analyze the variation of head and facial morphological characteristics with increased age. Results showed that as age increases: (1) Head breadth, minimum frontal breadth, face breadth, interocular breadth, external biocular breadth, lip height, lip thickness, head circumference, auricular height, length-breadth head index, length-height head index, and lip-index values decline significantly in a linear fashion. 2Physical characteristics of Chinese Hakka显示文摘Using standard and internationally validated methods,86 anthropologic characteristics were determined in 650 male(305 from urban areas and 345 from rural areas) and 704 female(331 from urban areas,373 from rural areas) Chinese Hakka adults living in Guangdong and Jiangxi.The data were used to calculate 24 anthropologic indices,which were analyzed statistically.The physical characteristics of Hakka subjects were analyzed and compared with reference ethnic data.There were four main findings of this study.First,a small proportion of Hakka adults had an eye fold on the upper eyelid,but a large proportion had a mongoloid fold.The eye slits were narrow in most adults,had a medium nasal root height and straight bridges,and most of the external angles were prominent.The nasal base was upturned in most men.The distributions of the three types of nasal base in women were similar.The proportions of subjects with middle and high alae nasi heights were high and similar.Males with a maximum nostril diameter were mostly classified as transverse and oblique,while many women were classified as transverse and had relatively wide alae nasi.The round lobe type was the most common.Upper lip skin height was mostly classified as medium.Lips were classified as thin.The hair was black,eyes were brown,and the skin was yellowish.Second,the head length was long in male Hakka.The minimum frontal breadth,face breadth,lip height,and interocular breadth were similar to those of North-Asian populations.Meanwhile,head breadth,morphological facial height,nose breadth,mouth breadth,and nose height were similar to those of South-Asian populations.Head length was long in female Hakka.The minimum frontal breadth,face breadth,lip height,and interocular breadth were similar to those of North-Asian populations.Head breadth,nose breadth,and mouth breadth were similar to those of South-Asian populations.Third,the stature of male and female Hakka in urban and rural areas was classified as medium.The proportions of male and female Hakka classified as mesocephaly(length-breadth index of the head),hypsicephalic type,metriocephalic type(breadth-height index of the head) mesorrhiny,long trunk,subbrachyskelic type,broad shoulder breadth,and narrow distance between iliac crests were higher than those of other types.Finally,principal component analyses showed that the physical characteristics of Hakka were between those of South-Asian and North-Asian ethnic populations,but were generally closer to those of North-Asian populations in China.ZHENG LianBin LI YongLan LU ShunHua BAO JinPing WANG Yang ZHANG XiaoRui XUE Hong RONG WenGuo 2013Science China(Life Sciences)2013,56,6:13

9Body weights in Han Chinese populations显示文摘The body weights of 26,954 Han Chinese adults in 67 areas(16,503 in rural areas and 10,451 in urban areas) across China were measured from 2009 to2013.The results showed that in China,the three areas(north China,northeast China,and Jianghuai Plain) were with the greatest body weight.Northwest Han Chinese populations were heavier.Southwestern dialect groups were at the middle level and lighter than northern Han Chinese populations,but were heavier among southern Han Chinese populations.Chinese Han who located in areas of Hangjiahu were the general level,and similar to southwestern dialect groups.The mean values of body weight in Hunan Han and Fujian Han were greater than other Han groups in southern China.Gan dialect groups and Cantonese dialect groups showed the minimum body weightvalue in all Chinese Han groups.Besides,the mean body weight of Hakka was heavier than Gan dialect groups and Cantonese dialect groups which were adjacent to Hakka.Body weight increases with an increase in height,bone diameter,subcutaneous fat on the limbs and trunk,chest circumference,and abdomen circumference.This study revealed that northern Han men were heavier than southern Han men,because the former were taller and had a larger waist circumference as well as thicker subcutaneous fat on their backs.Among women,height,bone diameter of the upper limbs,chest and abdomen circumferences,and subcutaneous fat on the limbs and trunks of northern Han exceeded those of rural southern Han.Consequently,body weight values of northern Han women were higher than those of southern Han women.While a significant difference in these values was found between urban and rural men,no significant difference occurred between urban and rural women.Body weight was associated with age in urban and rural men only in the case of minority groups.However,there was a positive correlation between body weight and age in the majority groups of both urban and rural women.The particular composition of genes involved in body weight traits of Han populations across the country has created a genetic foundation accounting for varying body weights of different Han populations.Environmental factors also play a role.As the Han are widely dispersed,their habitation areas vary according to factors such as topography,temperature,precipitation,humidity,and light.Moreover,labor intensity,food composition,and the intake of various nutrients also differ across Han populations.All of these factors have affected the development of body weight in Han populations living in different locations.Yonglan Li Lianbin Zheng Huanjiu Xi Keli Yu Shunhua Lu Jinyuan Tian Xue Song Jinping Bao Yuling Li Xinghua Zhang Youfeng Wen Fu Ren 2014Chinese Science Bulletin2014,59,35:1

17pIL-12 delivered by polymer based nanovector for anti-tumor genetherapy显示文摘Finding more effective and safe non-viral vectors to transfer genes into cancer cells has become the key of immune gene therapy for cancer.Herein a triblock compound MPEG_(2000)-PDLLA_(4000)-MPEG_(2000) modified by cationic liposome DOTAP was used as a non-viral vector DOTAP/MPEG_(2000)-PDLLA_(4000)-MPEG_(2000)(DMPM)to effectively transfer interleukin(IL)-12 plasmid(pIL-12)into tumor tissue.IL-12 produced by transfected tumor cells successfully inducing lymphocyte proliferation and promoting interferon-γ(IFN-γ)secretion,which resulted in tumor cells death.The ability of DMPM to transfer pIL-12 and the immune effect induced by IL-12 in cells had been explored.The anti-tumor effect,mechanism and safety of pIL-12/DMPM in mice cancer model were investigated in this study.Our results showed that the pIL-12 transferred by DMPM was highly expressed both in CT26 cells and B16-F10 cells.IL-12 expressed in the culture supernatant of transfected tumor cells stimulated lymphocyte proliferation and promoted IFN-γsecretion.The experimental result confirmed that pIL-12/DMPM therapy significantly reduced tumor growth in mice model.We designed the nanocomposite DMPM to deliver pIL-12 for cancer treatment and explored its therapeutic efficacy and the underlying anti-tumor mechanism.Our study suggested pIL-12 loaded by DMPM complex would be an effective strategy for cancer treatment.Lianbin Wen Xin Zan Qidi Pang Yuzhu Hu Songping Zheng Mengni Ran Xiang Gao Xiang Wang Bilan Wang 2023Chinese Chemical Letters2023,34,11:0
18Interfacial engineering of SnO_(2)/Bi_(2)O_(2)CO_(3)heterojunction on heteroatoms-doped carbon for high-performance CO_(2)electroreduction to formate显示文摘Electrochemical CO_(2)reduction is a viable,economical,and sustainable method to transform atmospheric CO_(2)into carbon-based fuels and effectively reduce climate change and the energy crisis.Constructing robust catalysts through interface engineering is significant for electrocatalytic CO_(2)reduction(ECR)but remains a grand challenge.Herein,SnO2/Bi_(2)O_(2)CO_(3)heterojunction on N,S-codoped-carbon(SnO_(2)/BOC@NSC)with efficient ECR performance was firstly constructed by a facile synthetic strategy.When the SnO_(2)/BOC@NSC was utilized in ECR,it exhibits a large formic acid(HCOOH)partial current density(JHCOOH)of 86.7 mA·cm^(−2)at−1.2 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE)and maximum Faradaic efficiency(FE)of HCOOH(90.75%at−1.2 V versus RHE),respectively.Notably,the FEHCOOH of SnO_(2)/BOC@NSC is higher than 90%in the flow cell and the JHCOOH of SnO_(2)/BOC@NSC can achieve 200 mA·cm^(−2)at−0.8 V versus RHE to meet the requirements of industrialization level.The comparative experimental analysis and in-situ X-ray absorption fine structure reveal that the excellent ECR performance can be ascribed to the synergistic effect of SnO_(2)/BOC heterojunction,which enhances the activation of CO_(2)molecules and improves electron transfer.This work provides an efficient SnO_(2)-based heterojunction catalyst for effective formate production and offers a novel approach for the construction of new types of metal oxide heterostructures for other catalytic applications.Danni Wang Tingting Sun Lianbin Xu Lei Gong Baotong Chen Pianpian Zhang Tianyu Zheng Qingmei Xu Houhe Pan Yuexing Zhang Jianzhuang Jiang 2023Nano Research2023,16,2:0
