1Corporate Governance and Accounting Conservatism in China显示文摘A principal-agent relationship exists among creditors,shareholders and management,and information asymmetry among them leads to asymmetric loss functions,which induces conservative accounting.This paper investigates the determinants of accounting conservatism using accrual-based measures and data from 2001 to 2006 in China.We find that a higher degree of leverage,lower level of control of ultimate shareholders and lower level of management ownership lead to more conservative financial reporting.We also find that political concerns and pressures among state-owned enterprises are greater than those among non-state owned enterprises,which leads to more conservative financial reporting among the former.However,a decrease in such concerns leads to a decrease in accounting conservatism.Overall,we find that among the determinants of conservatism in China,debt is the most important,followed by ownership,and that board has little influence.Donglin Xia Song Zhu 2009China Journal of Accounting Research2009,,2:6
2Nucleoprotein-based indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(indirect ELISA) for detecting antibodies specific to Ebola virus and Marbug virus显示文摘Full-length nucleoproteins from Ebola and Marburg viruses were expressed as His-tagged recombinant proteins in Escherichia coli and nucleoprotein-based enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays(ELISAs) were established for the detection of antibodies specific to Ebola and Marburg viruses. The ELISAs were evaluated by testing antisera collected from rabbit immunized with Ebola and Marburg virus nucleoproteins. Although little cross-reactivity of antibodies was observed in antiEbola virus nucleoprotein rabbit antisera, the highest reactions to immunoglobulin G(Ig G) were uniformly detected against the nucleoprotein antigens of homologous viruses. We further evaluated the ELISA's ability to detect antibodies to Ebola and Marburg viruses using human sera samples collected from individuals passing through the Guangdong port of entry. With a threshold set at the mean plus three standard deviations of average optical densities of sera tested, the ELISA systems using these two recombinant nucleoproteins have good sensitivity and specificity. 5Improved spectrum reconstruction technique based on chirp rate modulation in stepped-frequency SAR显示文摘To improve the efficiencies of the traditional spectrum reconstruction techniques, an improved spectrum reconstruction technique(ISRT) based on chirp rate modulation(CRM) is proposed. With the help of a CRM operation, a reconstructed wideband signal with a narrow pulse width can be obtained. Compared with the traditional time domain spectrum reconstruction technique(TSRT), ISRT is less time-consuming since much less samples are needed. Compared with the traditional frequency domain spectrum reconstruction technique(FSRT), the reconstructed signal is a chirp signal, which has no limitation on the subsequent imaging algorithm.What is more, processing steps of ISRT are optimized, and the computational burden is less than that of TSRT and FSRT. In the algorithm, the non-linear differential operator is utilized to its differential equation:Choosing the unit impulse response length of filter and fixing the weighting coefficient for inportant points. The method has been applied in diagnosing tooth broden and fatiguing'crack of gear faults successfully. 7Computational Identification of Protein-Protein Interactions in Rice Based on the Predicted Rice Interactome Network显示文摘Plant protein-protein interaction networks have not been identified by large-scale experiments. In order to better understand the protein interactions in rice, the Predicted Rice Interactome Network (PRIN; http://gffzz138305caccaf4191h0owxbuk6fq0o6pq6.ffgz.tsg.suse.edu.cn/ prin/) presented 76,585 predicted interactions involving 5,049 rice proteins. After mapping genomic features of rice (GO annotation, subcellular localization prediction, and gene expression), we found that a well-annotated and biologically significant network is rich enough to capture many significant functional linkages within higher-order biological systems, such as pathways and biological processes. Furthermore, we took MADS-box do- main-containing proteins and circadian rhythm signaling pathways as examples to demonstrate that functional protein complexes and biological pathways could be effectively expanded in our predicted network. 8On the technologies of Hα imaging spectrograph for the CHASE mission显示文摘The Hα imaging spectrograph(HIS) is the scientific payload of the first solar space mission, the Chinese Hα solar explorer(CHASE), supported by the China National Space Administration(CNSA). The CHASE/HIS achieves, for the first time in space, Hα spectroscopic observations with high spectral and temporal resolutions. Separate channels for the raster scanning mode(RSM) and continuum imaging mode(CIM) are integrated into one, and a highly integrated design is achieved through multiple folding of the optical path and ultra-light miniaturized components. The design of HIS implements a number of key technologies such as high-precision scanning of the optical field of view(FOV), high-precision integrated manufacturing inspection, a large-tolerance pre-filter window, and full-link solar radiation calibration. 9Bessel–Gauss photon beams with fractional order vortex propagation in weak non-Kolmogorov turbulence显示文摘We model the effects of weak fluctuations on the probability densities and normalized powers of vortex models for the Bessel–Gauss photon beam with fractional topological charge in the paraxial non-Kolmogorov turbulence channel. We find that probability density of signal vortex models is a function of deviation from the center of the photon beam, and the farther away from the beam center it is, the smaller the probability density is. For fractional topological charge, the average probability densities of signal/crosstalk vortex modes oscillate along the beam radius except the half-integer order. As the beam waist of the photon source grows, the average probability density of signal and crosstalk vortex modes grow together. Moreover, the peak of the average probability density of crosstalk vortex modes shifts outward from the beam center as the beam waist gets larger. The results also show that the smaller index of non-Kolmogorov turbulence and the smaller generalized refractive-index structure parameter may lead to the higher average probability densities of signal vortex modes and lower average probability densities of crosstalk vortex modes. 14Wave-Enhanced Sediment-Gravity Flows in Bohai Bay Lacustrine Basin, Eastern China显示文摘Sequences of wave-enhanced sediment-gravity flows(WESGFs) have been widely recognized in the marine shelf environment. In this study, we show observations of WESGF deposits in lacustrine settings using well core and thin section data from the Paleogene in the Jiyang sub-basin, Bohai Bay basin, eastern China. The findings of this study include the following: 1) the sequence of WESGFs in the lacustrine basin is similar to that of marine; it consists of three units, MF1 unit: siltstone with basal erosion surface, MF2 unit: silt-streaked claystone, and MF3 unit: silty-mudstone; and 2) prodelta sand sheets are found in the lacustrine WESGF sequence and are classified as the MFd unit: clay-streaked siltstone. However, because the system size and variability in hydrodynamic conditions are different between the lacustrine and marine basins, lacustrine WESGFs do appear to have three distinguishable features: 1) the sediment grain size and sand content are slightly higher than those of the marine WESGFs; 2) lacustrine WESGFs may contain prodelta sediments or sedimentary sequences of other types of gravity flows, such as hyperpycnal flows; and 3) the scale of the sedimentary structures for lacustrine WESGFs is smaller. 16Relationship between CYP2E1 Gene Polymorphism and Anti-tuberculosis Drug-induced Liver Injury显示文摘Objective: To investigate the relationship between cytochrome P450 E1 (CYP2E1) gene polymorphisms and susceptibility to anti-tuberculosis drug-induced liver damage (ATDLI) in tuberculosis patients in the Chinese Han nationality. Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on 360 patients with tuberculosis who had liver damage after tuberculosis treatment (case group) and 360 patients with tuberculosis who did not develop liver injury after treatment (control group). MassARRAY were used to detect CYP2E1 gene polymorphisms. Results: In a total of 8 tagged SNP loci selected, the rs8192773 locus failed to pass the test, and therefore, it is not included in subsequent analysis. At the remaining seven SNP sites, the difference in alleles was not statistically significant between the case group and the control group, suggesting that these sites may not be related to liver damage caused by anti-tuberculosis drugs. Three monomer domains were found in the seven tags SNP loci mentioned above. However, it was found that these haplotypes are not closely related to anti-tuberculosis drug-induced liver damage. 17Polysaccharide from Fruits of Physalis Alkekengi L. Enhances Antitumor Efficacy by a DNA Vaccine显示文摘Physalis. alkekengi fruit has long been used in traditional Chinese medicine for tumor therapy. In the present study, using plasmids that encode ovalbumin (OVA) gene, we investigate the adjuvant activity of a polysaccharide fraction (PPSB) isolated from P.alkekengi fruit. Formulation by simple procedures of mixing of the OVA-encoding pCI-neo-sOVA plasmid with PPSB not only induced specific antibody responses, but also induced antigen-specific cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) responses (Graph abstract). Furthermore, immunization using this vaccine prevented the growth of OVA-expressing B16-OVA tumor cell growth in the immunized mice. 19NAT2 Involed in the Susceptibility to Antituberculosis Drug-Induced Liver Injury显示文摘Objective: To investigate whether the N-acetyltransferase 2 (NAT2) gene is involved in the development of susceptibility to antituberculosis drug-induced liver damage (ATDLI) in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis in the Han nationality. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed 300 cases of tuberculosis patients without liver damage (control group) and 221 cases of tuberculosis patients with liver damage after antituberculosis treatment (case group). After antituberculosis treatment, genetic polymorphisms of NAT2 were analyzed in those patients using MassARRAY method. Results: Of the 10 tagged SNPs selected, In the promoter area of NAT2, the frequencies of T allele in rs4646243 and A allele in rs4646246 were significantly higher in the patients with ATDLI than controls (0.569 vs. 0.483, p=0.0062 and 0.567 vs 0.487, p=0.0103). The A allele of rs1115784 in the intron area showed a significant association with the development of ATDLI (0.389 vs 0.305, p = 0.0043). The frequencies of the mutated genes T and A in rs1041983 and rs1799930 in the second exon region were significantly higher than those in the control group (0.491 vs 0.360, p<0.00001 and 0.336 vs 0.212, respectively;p<0.00001). Two monomer domains were found in the 10 tag SNP sites, haplotype ht [TGAA] in monomeric domain 1 and haplotype ht [TAG] in monomeric domain 2, both were significantly more likely to be detected in the liver injury group than in the control group(p=0.0038, p<0.001, respectively). Two haplotypes were also found on the NAT2 gene: haplotype ht [CGGG] in monomeric domain 1 and ht [CGG] in block 2, and their presence means a lower risk of liver damage. Conclusion: NAT2 genotypes might have significant association with the risk of ATDLI in the Chinese Han nationality. 20The Application of Realtime Fluorescence Quantitative PCR for Prenatal Screening of Group B Streptococcal Infections显示文摘Objective: In the prenatal screening, several different methods were used to detect the presence of group B streptococcus (GBS) infection, in this assay, the diagnostic value and clinical significance of the application of realtime fluorescent PCR were explored. Methods: A total of 86 women with 35-37 weeks pregnancy were enrolled, vaginal secretion samples were collected. Fluorescence PCR, bacterial culture and gene sequencing were used to detect whether there was GBS infection, and the results obtained were compared and analyzed. Results: 10 subjects were detected to be positive for GBS by fluorescence PCR (the positive rate was 11.6%), however, only 4 cases were positive for GBS by bacterial culture method (the positive rate was 4.7%). There was a statistically significant difference in the positive rate between the two methods (P<0.01). Compared with the results of gene sequencing, the detection of GBS infection by fluorescence PCR has an accuracy of 95.2%, and the sensitivity was 90.9% with 100% specificity. Conclusion: The application of realtime fluorescence quantitative PCR for the detection of GBS infection is significantly better than the use of bacterial culture method. Compared with the gold standard method (gene sequencing method), its detection efficiency, accuracy, sensitivity and specificity are relatively high.
