| 2 | Influence of Temperature and Salinity on Germination of Eelgrass (Zostera marina L.) Seeds显示文摘Seagrass restoration as part of ocean ecosystem protection has been launched for many years all over the world, but intensive research on this subject in China has just begun in recent years. Seed broadcasting has been widely accepted as the most potentially useful method for seagrass restoration over large areas. We examined the influence of key environmental factors on seed germination to help promote eelgrass bed restoration. Under anoxic conditions, the influence of temperature and salinity on the germination rate of eelgrass (Zostera marina L.) seeds was examined at different combinations of four temperatures (4, 9, 14, and 24℃) and nine salinities (5 to 45, increment of 5). The effect of significant interaction of temperature and salinity on germination rate was observed (ANOVA) (P<0.001). The highest germination rate (83.3 ± 3.5)% was reached in 8 weeks at 14℃ and salinity 5. Higher temperature significantly increased the germination rate at salinity 5 (P<0.001) during the whole observation period except for 24℃, while lower salinity significantly increased the germination rate at 14℃ (P<0.001). Although significant interaction was found between temperature and salinity (P<0.001), the influence of salinity was stronger than that of temperature for the germination of eelgrass seeds. | 3 | Optimal capacity planning of combined renewable energy source-pumped storage and seawater desalination systems显示文摘As water scarcity is becoming a growing threat to human development, finding effective solutions has become an urgent need. To make better use of water resources, seawater desalination and storage systems using renewable energy sources(RES) are designed and implemented around the world. In this paper, an optimal capacity planning method for RES-pumped storage-seawater desalination(RES-PS-D) system is introduced. The configuration of the RES-PS-D system is clarified first, after which a cost-benefit analysis is performed using all cost and benefit components. A function for determining maximum economic benefits of the RES-PS-D system is then established, and the constraints are proposed based on various limitations. The mixed-integer linear programming algorithm is applied to solve the optimal function. A case study is introduced to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the method. | 4 | Monolithic superaligned carbon nanotube composite with integrated rewriting, actuating and sensing multifunctions显示文摘Multifunctionality has become a mainstream trend in the development of smart clothing and flexible wearable devices.Nevertheless,it remains a grand challenge to realize multiple functions,such as sensing,actuating and information displaying,in one single multifunctional material.Here,we present one multifunctional integration strategy by employing monolithic superaligned carbon nanotube(SACNT)composite,which can leverage three different functions through fascinating features of SACNT.Firstly,by using thermochromic dye as a color-memorizing component and SACNT as a photothermal converter,the composite film can be utilized as a flexible rewritable medium.It demonstrates excellent rewriting performances(reversibility>500 times).Secondly,the composite can be tailored to fabricate an actuator,when its length direction is along the SACNT alignment.The actuator shows a bending-morphing when illuminated by near-infrared light.The morphing is attributed to a large difference in volume change between the SACNT and polymer when the SACNT absorbs the optical energy and heats the composite.Thirdly,owing to the unique anisotropy of SACNT,the composite is easily to be stretched in the direction perpendicular to the SACNT alignment,accompanied by a change in electrical resistance.Therefore,the composite is able to be used as a strain sensor.Finally,we fabricate two smart wearable devices to demonstrate the applications,which realize the functions of human-motion detection(sensing)and rewritable information display(rewriting)simultaneously.This multifunctional SACNT composite is expected to have potential applications in the next-generation wearable devices,smart clothing and so on. | Peidi Zhou Wei Zhang Luzhuo Chen Jian Lin Zhiling Luo Changhong Liu Kaili Jiang | 2021 | Nano Research2021,14,7: | 2 |

| 6 | An improved ileal conduit surgery for bladder cancer with fewer complications显示文摘Background:Radical cystectomy and urinary diversion remains the standard surgical treatment for patients with muscle-invasive or high-risk or recurrent non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer.Although this approach prolongs patient survival remarkably,there are postoperative complications associated with urinary diversion.This study aimed to assess the efficacy of modified ileal conduit surgery for reducing early and late stoma-and ureteroileal anastomo-sis-related complications,as compared with conventional ileal conduit urinary diversion.Methods:We retrospectively evaluated the clinical data of bladder cancer patients treated with radical cystectomy and ileal conduit urinary diversion at Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center between January 1,2000 and June 30,2016.Ileal conduit was created by the conventional or a modified technique.The clinicopathologic features of the conventional and the modified ileal conduit groups were compared using the t test and the Chi square test.Multivari-able logistic regression analysis and multivariable Cox regression analysis were performed to determine the odds of developing stoma-and ureteroileal anastomosis-related complications in the two groups.Results:145 and 100 patients underwent the modified and conventional ileal conduit surgery,respectively.The two groups were comparable with regard to clinicopathologic features.The rate of stoma-related complications was significantly lower in the modified ileal conduit group than in the conventional ileal conduit group(0.7%vs.17.0%,P<0.001).No late stoma-related complications were seen in the modified ileal conduit group,but were seen in 13(13.0%)patients in the conventional ileal conduit group.The rate of ureteroileal anastomosis-related complications was significantly lower in the modified ileal conduit group than in the conventional ileal conduit group(4.8%vs.15.0%,P=0.001).In multivariable analyses,the modified ileal conduit group was significantly less likely to develop stoma-(odds ratio[OR]=0.024,95%confidence interval[CI]0.003-0.235;P=0.001)or ureteroileal anastomosis-related complications(OR=0.141,95%CI 0.042-0.476;P=0.002)than the conventional ileal conduit group.Conclusions:Our modified surgical technique for ileal conduit urinary diversion may be effective for reducing early and late complications related to the stoma and the ureteroileal anastomosis.Prospective randomized clinical trials are needed to confirm our results. | Zhiyong Li Zhuowei Liu Kai Yao Zike Qin Hui Han Yonghong Li Pei Dong Yunlin Ye Yanjun Wang Zhiming Wu Zhiling Zhang Fangjian Zhou | 2019 | Cancer Communications2019,39,1: | 2 |

| 8 | Broadband impedance modulation via non-local acoustic metamaterials显示文摘Causality of linear time-invariant systems inherently defines the wave-matter interaction process in wave physics.This principle imposes strict constraints on the interfacial response of materials on various physical platforms.A typical consequence is that a delicate balance has to be struck between the conflicting bandwidth and geometric thickness when constructing a medium with desired impedance,which makes it challenging to realize broadband impedance modulation with compact structures.In pursuit of improvement,the over-damped recipe and the reduced excessive response recipe are creatively presented in this work.As a proof-of-concept demonstration,we construct a metamaterial with intensive mode density that supports strong non-locality over a frequency band from 320 Hz to 6400 Hz.Under the guidelines of the over-damped recipe and the reduced excessive response recipe,the metamaterial realizes impedance matching to air and exhibits broadband near-perfect absorption without evident impedance oscillation and absorption dips in the working frequency band.We further present a dual-functional design capable of frequency-selective absorption and reflection by concentrating the resonance modes in three frequency bands.Our research reveals the significance of over-damped recipe and the strong non-local effect in broadband impedance modulation,which may open up avenues for constructing efficient artificial impedance boundaries for energy absorption and other wave manipulation. | Zhiling Zhou Sibo Huang Dongting Li Jie Zhu Yong Li | 2022 | National Science Review2022,9,8: | 1 |

| 13 | Photo-thermoelectric generator integrated in graphene-based actuator for self-powered sensing function显示文摘Smart actuators integrated with sensing functions are taking a significant role in constructing intelligent robots.However,the detection of sensing signals in most actuators requires external electrical power,lacking in the self-powered feature.Herein,we report a graphene-based light-driven actuator with self-powered sensing function,which is designed by integrating a photothermoelectric generator into the actuator intelligently.When one part of the actuator is irradiated by near-infrared light,it shows a deformation with bending curvature up to 1.5 cm^(−1),owing to the mismatch volume changes between two layers of the actuator.Meanwhile,the temperature difference across the actuator generates a voltage signal due to the photo-thermoelectric effect.The Seebeck coefficient is higher than 40μV/K.Furthermore,the self-powered voltage signal is consistent with the deformation trend,which can be used to characterize the deformation state of actuator without external electrical power.We further demonstrate a gripper and a bionic hand.Their deformations mimic the motions of human hand(or finger),even making complex gestures.Concurrently,they can output self-powered voltage signals for sensing.We hope this research will pave a new way for selfpowered devices,state-of-the-art intelligent robots,and other integrated multi-functional systems. | Peidi Zhou Jian Lin Wei Zhang Zhiling Luo Luzhuo Chen | 2022 | Nano Research2022,15,6: | 0 |
| 14 | Pt nanocrystals electrodeposited on reduced graphene oxide/carbon fiber paper with efficient electrocatalytic properties显示文摘Carbon fiber paper(CFP) wrapped with reduced graphene oxide(rGO) film as the composite support(rGO/CFP) of Pt catalysts was studied. It was found that rGO could affect the size and morphology of Pt nanocrystals(NCs). Concave nanocubes(CNC) Pt NCs~ 20 nm were uniformly electrodeposited on high reduced HrGO/CFP while irregular Pt NCs^62 nm were loaded on low reduced LrGO. Compared with Pt-LrGO/CFP and Pt-MrGO/CFP, the CNC Pt-HrGO/CFP exhibited a higher electrochemically active surface area(121.7 m^2 g^(-1)), as well as enhanced electrooxidation activity of methanol(499 mA mg^(-1)) and formic acid(950 mA mg^(-1)). The results further demonstrated that the CNC Pt-HrGO/CFP could serve as the gas diffusion electrode in fuel cells and yielded a satisfactory performance(1855 mW mg^(-1)). | 16 | Combined Echocardiography and Lung Ultrasound for Extubation Outcome Prediction in Children after Cardiac Surgery显示文摘Background:Children are at risk of extubation failure after congenital heart disease surgery.Such cases should be identified to avoid possible adverse consequences of failed extubation.This study aimed to identify ultrasound predictors of successful extubation in children who underwent cardiac surgery.Methods:Children aged 3 months to 6 years who underwent cardiac surgery(if they were intubated for>6 h and underwent a spontaneous breathing trial)were included in this study.Results:We included 83 children who underwent surgery for congenital heart disease.Transthoracic echocardiography and lung ultrasound were performed immediately before spontaneous breathing trials.Upon spontaneous breathing trial completion,respiratory parameters,including arterial blood gas analysis and frequency-to-tidal volume ratio,were similarly recorded.For outcome assessment,all children were followed up for 48 h after extubation.We successfully extubated 57 children(68.7%).These children were significantly older and weighed more but had shorter aortic cross-clamp and cardiopulmonary bypass times.Children who could not be weaned or extubated had prolonged total mechanical ventilation and pediatric intensive care unit stay.In the multivariate regression analysis,a lung ultrasound score≥12 and ejection fraction≥40%immediately before spontaneous breathing trials were the only independent predictors of successful extubation.When combined,the lung ultrasound score and an ejection fraction≥40%showed a better diagnostic performance than every other isolated variable(lung ultrasound,N-terminal-pro-B-type natriuretic peptide,and frequency-to-tidal volume ratio).Conclusions:The combination of lung ultrasound and transthoracic echocardiography immediately before the spontaneous breathing trial effectively predicts extubation outcomes in children after cardiac surgery. | Muzi Li Hong Meng Liang Zhang Yuzi Zhou Chao Liang Zhiling Luo Hao Wang | 2022 | Congenital Heart Disease2022,17,3: | 0 |

| 18 | Novel biomarkers identifying hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and its obstructive variant based on targeted amino acid metabolomics显示文摘Background:Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(HCM)is an underdiagnosed genetic heart disease worldwide.The management and prognosis of obstructive HCM(HOCM)and non-obstructive HCM(HNCM)are quite different,but it also remains challenging to discriminate these two subtypes.HCM is characterized by dysmetabolism,and myocardial amino acid(AA)metabolism is robustly changed.The present study aimed to delineate plasma AA and derivatives profiles,and identify potential biomarkers for HCM.Methods:Plasma samples from 166 participants,including 57 cases of HOCM,52 cases of HNCM,and 57 normal controls(NCs),who first visited the International Cooperation Center for HCM,Xijing Hospital between December 2019 and September 2020,were collected and analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry based on targeted AA metabolomics.Three separate classification algorithms,including random forest,support vector machine,and logistic regression,were applied for the identification of specific AA and derivatives compositions for HCM and the development of screening models to discriminate HCM from NC as well as HOCM from HNCM.Results:The univariate analysis showed that the serine,glycine,proline,citrulline,glutamine,cystine,creatinine,cysteine,choline,and aminoadipic acid levels in the HCM group were significantly different from those in the NC group.Four AAs and derivatives(Panel A;proline,glycine,cysteine,and choline)were screened out by multiple feature selection algorithms for discriminating HCM patients from NCs.The receiver operating characteristic(ROC)analysis in Panel A yielded an area under the ROC curve(AUC)of 0.83(0.75-0.91)in the training set and 0.79(0.65-0.94)in the validation set.Moreover,among 10 AAs and derivatives(arginine,phenylalanine,tyrosine,proline,alanine,asparagine,creatine,tryptophan,ornithine,and choline)with statistical significance between HOCM and HNCM,3 AAs(Panel B;arginine,proline,and ornithine)were selected to differentiate the two subgroups.The AUC values in the training and validation sets for Panel B were 0.83(0.74-0.93)and 0.82(0.66-0.98),respectively.Conclusions:The plasma AA and derivatives profiles were distinct between the HCM and NC groups.Based on the differential profiles,the two established screening models have potential value in assisting HCM screening and identifying whether it is obstructive. | Lanyan Guo Bo Wang Fuyang Zhang Chao Gao Guangyu Hu Mengyao Zhou Rutao Wang Hang Zhao Wenjun Yan Ling Zhang Zhiling Ma Weiping Yang Xiong Guo Chong Huang Zhe Cui Fangfang Sun Dandan Song Liwen Liu Ling Tao | 2022 | Chinese Medical Journal2022,135,16: | 0 |
| 19 | 一种用于治疗膀胱癌且并发症较少的改良回肠导管术显示文摘背景与目的根治性膀胱切除术和尿流改道术仍然是肌层浸润性或高危或复发非肌层浸润性膀胱癌患者的标准外科治疗方法。尽管这种方法显著延长了患者的生存期,但仍存在与尿流改道相关的术后并发症。本研究旨在通过与传统回肠导管尿流改道术相比较,评价改良回肠导管术减少早期及晚期造口及输尿管回肠吻合术相关并发症的疗效。方法回顾分析2000年1月1日至2016年6月30日在中山大学肿瘤防治中心接受膀胱癌根治术及回肠导管尿流改道术的膀胱癌患者的临床资料,患者分别采用了传统或改良的回肠导管术。采用t检验和卡方检验,比较传统与改良回肠导管术组患者的临床病理学特征。采用多变量logistic回归分析和多变量Cox回归分析,确定两组发生造口和输尿管回肠吻合相关并发症的概率。结果接受改良与传统回肠导管术的患者分别为145例与100例。两组的临床病理学特征具有可比性。改良回肠导管术组与传统回肠导管术组相比,造口相关并发症发生率显著降低(0.7%vs.17.0%,P<0.001)。改良回肠导管术组未发现晚期造口相关并发症,但传统回肠导管术组有13(13.0%)例患者出现并发症。改良回肠导管术组与传统回肠导管术组相比,输尿管回肠吻合相关并发症发生率显著降低(4.8%vs.15.0%,P=0.001)。在多变量分析中,与传统回肠导管术组相比,改良回肠导管术组更不容易出现造口[比值比(odds ratio,OR)=0.024,95%置信区间(confidence interval,CI):0.003–0.235;P=0.001]或输尿管回肠吻合术相关并发症(OR=0.141,95%CI:0.042–0.476;P=0.002)。结论改良的回肠导管尿流改道可有效减少与造口及输尿管回肠吻合术相关的早期及晚期并发症。需要前瞻性随机临床试验来证实我们的结果。 | Zhiyong Li Zhuowei Liu Kai Yao Zike Qin Hui Han Yonghong Li Pei Dong Yunlin Ye Yanjun Wang Zhiming Wu Zhiling Zhang Fangjian Zhou | 2019 | 癌症2019,38,10: | 0 |
