Light-triggered NO-releasing nanoparticles for treating mice with liver fibrosis显示文摘Liver fibrosis, resulting from chronic liver damage and characterized by the accumulation of extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins, is a characteristic of most types of chronic liver diseases. The activation of hepatic stellate cells (HSC) is considered an essential pathological hallmark in liver fibrosis. Although nitric oxide (NO) can effectively induce HSC apoptosis, the systemic administration of NO is ineffective and may cause severe complications such as hypotension. To overcome this limitation, nanoparticles were designed to target HSCs and release NO locally under the exposure of near infrared light (NIR). To achieve this, upconversion nanoparticle (UCNP) cores were enveloped in mesoporous silica shells (UCNP@mSiO2), which were modified with hyaluronic acid (HA-UCNP@mSiO2) and Roussin’s black salt (RBS). HA molecules recognize and bind to CD44 proteins, which are overexpressed on activated HSCs. Under exposure to a 980-nm NIR laser, the UCNP cores convert the 980-nm wavelength into ultraviolet (UV) light, which then energizes the RBS (NO donors), resulting in an efficient release of NO inside of the HSCs. Once released, NO triggers HSC apoptosis and reverses the liver fibrosis. This targeted and controlled release method provides the theoretical and experimental basis for novel therapeutic approaches to treat hepatic fibrosis. | Hongxia Liang Zhenhua Li Zhigang Ren Qiaodi Jia Linna Guo Shasha Li Hongyu Zhang Shiqi Hu Dashuai Zhu Deliang Shen Zujiang Yu Ke Cheng | 2020 | Nano Research2020,13,8: | 1
Evaluation and Exploration of Se-enriching Effects of Microbial Nano-selenium on Several Kinds of Vegetable显示文摘[Objectives] This study was carried out to explore the selenium-enriching effect of different crops, and provide certain references for production of selenium-enriched agricultural products. [Methods]Four kinds of crops( tomato, leaf mustard, peanut, and carrot) were exogenous selenium fertilizer treated,to explore the selenium-enriching effects on these crops. [Results]Exogenous application of microbial nano-selenium can significantly increase the selenium content of the crops,of which the effects on big tomato( Weiyanuo) were the best. After spraying, the selenium content increased by 1. 39 times, and at the same time the sugar content of tomato was also increased. [Conclusions]This study is expected to provide references for increase of the selenium content of agricultural products. | Qiang LI Jing ZHANG Ruiyi YANG Zujiang GAO Jiliang SHAN Puxing LIANG | 2018 | Agricultural Biotechnology2018,7,5: | 1
The successful treatment for cardiac tamponade during radiofrequency ablation of hepatocellular carcinoma显示文摘To the Editor:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)is the second most common cause of cancer-related death worldwide[1].Repeated liver resection remains a valid and safe curative therapy option for recurrent HCC in a minority of patients, because of multifocal intrahepatic or extra-hepatic recurrence and tumors in unresectable locations[2].HCC nodules less than 3 cm located in the hepatic dome beneath the diaphragm may represent one of the most difficult sites for resection[3].Therefore,some local invasive therapies, such as radiofrequency ablation(RFA),microwave ablation, transarterial chemoembolization(TACE)and laser hyperthermia, have been developed and applied in clinical HCC treatment[4].RFA has high frequency energy which heats the surrounding tissues and causes severe complications such as acute massive hemorrhage, thermal injury to viscera, pneumothorax and cardiac tamponade[5]. | Chen Xue Zhigang Ren Xiaobo Hu Yuting He Ranran Sun Juan Li Guangying Cui Zujiang Yu | 2019 | Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Diseases International2019,18,1: | 0
Alterations of the oral and gut mycobiome and cytokines during long-term follow-up of COVID-19 convalescents显示文摘Dear Editor,A large number of COVID-19 patients experience body-specific conditions such as fatigue, sleep disturbances, anxiety, depression, and dyspnea after the disease has subsided, which is called“long COVID-19”.1 Studies have confirmed reduced microbial diversity, enrichment of opportunistic pathogens and depletion of beneficial symbiotic bacteria in patients with COVID-19.2,3 Long-term dysregulation of the microbiota has also been observed in recovered patients.4 Nevertheless,long-term fungal microbiota follow-up was still blank. | Zhigang Ren Shanshuo Liu Qiong Wang Benchen Rao Zhaohai Zeng Yakun Xu Haiyu Wang Hong Luo Jianjun Gou Zujiang Yu | 2023 | Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy2023,8,5: | 0
Effect of Al Layer on Oxidation Behavior of NbCrAl Coating显示文摘NbCrAl coatings in the presence or absence of Al outer layer were prepared on C103 Nb based alloy and alumina substrate by direct current magnetron sputtering technique. The oxidation performance of coating systems was evaluated by isothermal oxidation tests. The element diffusion and oxidation behavior of the coating systems were investigated. The results indicate that the mass gains of NbCrAl and Al/NbCrAl coatings are 2.02 mg/cm^2 and 0.79 mg/cm^2 at 1 000 ℃ for short time. Al/NbCrAl coatings exhibit more effective protection than NbCrAl coatings. The addition of Al layer can improve the oxidation resistance of NbCrAl coatings, which is attributed to the Al layer offering enough Al content to react with oxygen to form a continuous and dense Al_2O_3 scale on NbCrAl coating and it can inhibit the further internal oxidation. | 许安 CHEN Quanzhi HUANG Zujiang DONG Wanbing 李伟洲 | 2019 | Journal of Wuhan University of Technology(Materials Science)2019,34,2: | 0
Preliminary Study on the Quality Difference of Local Broad-shoulder Bitter Gourd Landraces in Foshan显示文摘[Objectives]The study aims to provide important reference for the breeding and research of new varieties of functional broad-shoulder bitter gourd.[Methods]8 pure varieties of local broad-shoulder bitter gourd landraces in Foshan were used as experimental materials,in which polysaccharide, cellulose and vitamin C content were measured.[Results]Among the 8 varieties of local self-selected broad-shoulder bitter gourd in Foshan, the polysaccharide content of Foxuan 6 was the highest,up to 113.78 mg/100 (g·FW),which was significantly higher than that of the other 7 varieties. The polysaccharide content of Foxuan 2 was the lowest. The cellulose content of Foxuan 8 was the highest, reaching 24.50 mg/100 (g·FW),which was significantly higher than that of the other 7 varieties. The cellulose content of Foxuan 4 was the lowest. The vitamin C content of Foxuan 5 was the highest, reaching 74.24 mg/100 (g·FW),which was significantly higher than that of the other 7 varieties. The vitamin C content of Foxuan 4 was the lowest, only 7.05 mg/100 (g·FW).In a word, there were big differences between the 8 varieties of broad-shoulder bitter gourd in terms of polysaccharide, cellulose and vitamin C content.[Conclusions]It is possible to make full use of their own quality differences and develop new varieties of functional broad-shoulder bitter gourd by means of cross combination. | Qiang LI Jing ZHANG Xiangni LI Zujiang GAO Ruiyi YANG Puxing LIANG | 2019 | Agricultural Biotechnology2019,8,3: | 0
